I dont have anything negative to say about this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have a great selection of books. The prices are fantastic especially if you are looking for a newer book but dont want to pay a higher dollar amount for one book. If you are an avid book worm I recommend checking this place out, you wont be disappointed.

We have driven by so many times. My daughter and I decided to stop. What a great store! You can easily lose track of time in this store. There are so many neat things! Everything is so organized and set up nicely! My daughter has asked to go back every day since we were there. Wl definitely go back.

Employees Sara and Crystal were so helpful on the phone as well in person. They both had cheerful attitudes even during the barrage of ?s I had for them. I was even directed to another source to find what I was looking for. Great job ladies. Ill be back....👍👍👍

Always an amazing stop on my trips to Appleton. Great prices and plenty of good books and other things too! So close to a big brand book store and offering better prices. Recommend stopping here first so you dont find a book you just bought fill price for half!

I am so disappointed with Half priced books as far as selling to them goes, Ive been going to them for quite some time and the prices they offer are very random. I understand the market for used goods fluctuates all the time and I also understand that they need to purchase items at a reasonable price to be able to resell them, I understand that they may sit on them for awhile but when I bring things that are quality items and they pretty much want them for free I rate them no better than goodwill. So disappointed and I will!! Spread the word, what a way to screw people over and make a massive profit 🙄

If you like to read and are looking for some great collection of books half the price in good quality, this is the place to be!You would walk in to a great library of well stacked, good to great quality books for half the price.Its so very well organized- books for all ages and different categories. DVD collection, puzzles, some random toys etc.People are super friendly and always ready to help.Would highly recommend and be back here again and again.

This morning I went to half-price books to pick up some books for my six-year-old son, who is a voracious reader. I came across the entire series of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. After looking at a couple of reviews online, I decided to buy the entire series. When I got up to the register, there were two employees there. They both were so enthusiastic about the books that I was buying. They told me all about the books, how they even studied them in school, and some wonderful things to expect from the series. It was such a lovely surprise, hearing such a raving reviews while I was buying the books. I decided to read them myself before giving them to my son. I started the first one tonight, and I can already tell that he and I are both going to love these. Those two employees were fantastic and very helpful, and it was such a great bookstore experience. Thank you!

It was like a step back in time. They had records, old video games, CDs, audio cassettes, even eight tracks and tons and tons of books. Quite a pleasurable experience. I had never been here before and went with my daughter to drop off some books for them to buy back. I will definitely be going back to peruse when I have more time.

Lines can be long mid day on the weekends. Worth waiting if you enjoy saving money on the books your are looking. Recommend going in the late afternoon if you like to browse for a bit.

The mask mandate has ended in Wisconsin and they not only refused service but threatened to call the police. They police cannot enforce an illegal mandate that has ended. Do not support companies who treat a customer like this.

Nice book store with a large inventory of books, DVDs, CDs, and albums. Staff will help you find what you are looking for. They will buy your old books, just dont expect to get too much for them.

I can understand why others rate these used books low. However let us be objective.1. Used books are like used cars, they are a better purchase used, since new books will drop in value right after purchasing.2. Alright, I get it! Dont need to get huffy. But either sell your used books on eBay (or wherever online) to get a good price; OR sell them for credits at other bookstores. At Half Price books at least they give you cash for your books, DVDs and so on.

Really great place for cheap books, cds, vinyl, video games, dvds, and more. They even have some new stuff too which is nice if you dont feel like going into a big store to buy the new book you want. I believe you can order for a pickup in store and/or call them to set an item aside for you if they have it in stock. They even buy stuff too but they can be a little picky on what they buy.

Love this store! Its so nice to be able to find unique hardcopy versions of classics for a low price. Also, the staff is genuine and friendly.

Great bookstore option. Always new titles, vinyl music selection is getting better. Would like to see more writing supplies, notebooks, journals etc. I dont sell books here anymore however. The prices offered are very low in my opinion. Other options for selling your unwanted books are better, although it is very easy to sell here.

These people are amazing. I went in today on 9/5/2020 to look for two different collections of books, and they had all but four from one collection and one from the other, but they ordered them to be shipped. I am one super happy customer and will be returning, not only to pick up my books, but to get more books while Im there. Thank you so much to the two ladies that helped me find my books.

With the range and selection this place has, they could smack barnes n noble down to nothingness. in a brawl between BnN and HPB, Barnes n Noble would become Barns and Peasant.Edit: Do not sell your books here, or at least dont expect to make money. Youre essentially donating books for them to mark them up and turn a large profit.

Went in recently to purchase books to supplement our homeschooling this fall...(yay 2020...) was pleased to see directional arrows on the floor to direct heavier traffic into one solid flow and observed an employee strictly enforcing their mask policy, as a customer had come in without one and appeared to be against following their request to wear one. Well kept and organized store, was able to quickly and easily find what we were looking for within 30 minutes, even with taking time to browse the whole store. Extremely affordable and high quality books. What a gem of a store!

I have a medical condition and I cant ware a mask for any period of time. It is very sad that I cant shop here while you insist on masks. If people who are afraid of the virus have on a mask, it shouldnt matter if I do or not. Waring a mask WILL kill me. Me not wearing one wont kill you...I dont have covid or even a simple cold....

This is one of my go-to destinations for books! I love the layout of the place, super easy to find certain genres/authors. They also have a vast array of music and kids items! They are doing a great job with requiring masks, having tape arrows on the floor, and providing hand sanitizer, others places should take note from them! You never know what youll find at Half Price Books. The last time I went, I found a $30 hardcover book that I had been looking for at Barnes & Noble, and I found it here for $12.99! I would most definitely recommend coming to this bookshop! 10/10!

Let me just say, the staff is wonderful! A very kind cashier helped me out a bit because it was my first time in that store.The prices on many things are very low with great quality, my sister and i bought a wide variety of wiccan books and tarot cards, granted we looked like crack heads but no one really minded.TLDR; This place was awesome and Ill definately be coming back

You never know what you’re going to find at Half-Price Books, and that’s half the fun. Because of this store, I’ve been able to complete a hodgepodge collection of Harry Potter books for myself and for some friends, I found the John Green Book that I could never find at Goodwill (signed, no less), and I found a first printing of another favorite book. In addition to used books and music, they also sell brand new books and some fun gifts. The store is bright and easy to navigate, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I have come here very often through the years.I always thought they were reasonable and I could find some authors, CDs or movies I had been looking for. I also brought books, CDs & DVDs into the store for them to purchase. Unfortunately, they have increased many of their prices to an outrageous cost to the customer for used items. I say this because they also only value items they buy from you for just pennies- literally, whether current or not. I think I will check other second hand stores instead from now on!

Such a wonderful book store, excellent selection at unbeatable prices! My 8 year old was over the moon to find the magic tree house book set! And my 5 year old was ecstatic at the star wars selection. Plus I found a great looking novel for myself!
