Wow! It was a sunny afternoon and after an afternoon trek a bit of ice cream seemed to be a good choice. Although the selection wasnt massive, I couldnt decide and the staff told us that you can split the single scoop. Sadly, you cant do tasting so we had to wing it. The husband ordered strawberry and vanilla while I ordered salted caramel and vanilla. There was a lot of seating outside. Delish!P.S. We could wait to take a bite before I remembered to take a pic.

Their dairy free ice cream is amazing. Theyre dairy ice cream is worth tasting even if your lactose intolerant. I love their backyard space and their staff seem happy. VERY AFFORDABLE FOR THE QUALITY

Such a cute little ice cream place!! I only had a scoop of the salted caramel and it was a little different than what I was expecting of salted caramel but still very good. Dogs are not allowed in the building but you can go around the back and have them on the patio. They were so nice and made some great suggestions.

Been a big ice cream fan for over half a century. NEVER would dream of ordering vanilla. BUT here the honey lavender vanilla is like amazing. I have ordered it multiple times smiling every time. So so good😋

Great spot! They even had homemade vegan cones. So glad they had a vegan icecream option (strawberry) but it would be lovely to see more flavors. I enjoyed the icecream sitting in their nature area.

They have very good flavors here and you can get a taste before you order. I couldnt decide between two orders so he gave me two smaller scoops of each flavor. Also recommend the house made waffle cone. The guy that served us we awesome. Once we got out scoops, we made our way to the giraffe swinging table.

Arrived before close and waited in car in front of door while a couple ordered on the sidewalk, in order to maintain social distancing, when they were done we immediately got out to get a scoop but the lady literally closed the door in our faces and said they were closed...if it hadnt been socially distanced we would have been served. Made a big bummer in my night as some ice cream was much needed after a long drive. :(

Wow this might be the best ice cream I’ve ever had! The honey vanilla lavender rivals that of Bi-rite’s honey lavender (my previous favorite). It was super creamy and even had pieces of lavender buds! Sold by the pint during covid for $8.50. Boyfriend and I finished it before reaching our airbnb in Eureka. So sad I live in so cal and will probably never eat it again.

Ive cream is delicious

I love it for the original recipes homemade there in Arcata and for the nostalgia of the place. It reminds me of my grandmothers time, and every birthday I cant help but think what a nice little treat it would be to go to Arcata Scoop with loved ones. Their recipes are as dreamy as ever from when I first went to school there. Its an Arcata treasure.

Ive been out of the area for the last 5 years and I definitely had to make time for my favorite ice cream shop. Let me tell you the coffee and Just vanilla ice cream was as delicious as I remembered. Looking forward to stopping in one more time before I head south.

Best place for Ice Cream in town. Very popular with student and families with kids. With everyone. In a funky old house. Great house made ice cream and hot freshly made waffle cones. Always interesting flavors. You cant go wrong with any of them.

Seems a little expensive for what you get. My fiancé said his tasted too healthy and his waffle cone has hairs on it. And they lady oddly said, you could leave a tip and then walked away...

I had the cinnamon ice cream and it was really good! There are other unique flavors as well including a couple vegan options. Im not local but I would go back again next time Im in the area.

I love this local business. My only complaint is that there is only one dairy free option at a time. Nevertheless, all of the ice creams are tasty and they are often made with local fruit. The freshness is immediately obvious.Edit: Theyve begun having two dairy free flavors as the beginning of September.

People rave about this place. It was..... Good. Not amazing. But then again, Ive been to some amazing ice cream parlors. I enjoyed my visit. The swingy thing was very cool. Some of the flavors were a little too inventive and didnt work. But I guess thats part of the process. The Earl Grey, for example, was sublime.

Love this place, top notch small batch ice cream that will make you hate that grocery store ice cream in your fridge.. Its only problem is that it really never gets hot in arcata.. if this place was in Venice Beach, the line would be a mile long.

The ice cream selection was interesting. I like the inside of the place. The staff were nice and informative about the unique flavors. The waffle cone it self is not my favorite. But that is my personal opinion. All in all good place to get a scoop of ice cream and walk around Arcata.

I grew up in Arcata and I always loved going to the scoop. I remember sitting with my cousins and riding the bunny rabbit. (the bunny rabbit is a mini carousel ride) They have the best ice cream flavors you could imagine. My personal favorite has always been chocolate. Ive also always love the girrafe swing.I also love that they have a mini ice cream shop for kids to play in. Definitely reccomend it!!!

Stumbled onto this place while looking for some dessert while on vacation. Theyve got great ice cream; old favorites and some new different flavors. Also very kid friendly and fun inside. Owner is very friendly and customer service is amazing. Sadly not enough places like this anymore.

This place has spoiled me forever. I can no longer go to standard ice cream shops when I leave town and not be completely disappointed. This is fresh, real, organic ice cream with local ingredients and the flavors change daily and seasonally. They also make delicious waffle cones! I wish they had toppings, that’s the only downside, but who needs extras when you already have the best ice cream ever??

This place offered a refreshing refuge from the city heat on the day of our visit. The place has a cool (temperature and look) atmosphere to it as well as a variety of unique flavors. Having never had Earl Grey Ice Cream, I had to try it. It was just what I expected. I appreciated that they also offered milk-free ice creams.

One of my very favorite places. Hand made ice cream in crazy hippy flavors like cardamom or rosemary. They close a few weeks for vacation (which is heartbreaking). Inside is a whimsical 4 person glider swing reminiscent of a merry-go-round.

They have great flavors and Ive never had one I didnt like. Lemon Poppy Seed, Honey Lavender, Earl Grey, Mint chip, and more all the time.Its a great place to go after dinner or just if you are in the neighborhood.

I loved all the flavors! It is rich because of the high fat content but dont pass it up because of some silly diet!! The shop is quaint and clean. The ice cream is cheap and it comes in a ceramic bowl, waffle cone or waffle bowl for the same price. We found it better to split your one large single scoop into two little scoops. Some of the unusual flavors can be a bit much in larger quantities (ie: honey/lavender). Support the little man and go see these girls! Amazing!!
