I recently had a bad fall with a serious eye issue (Bright red eye and black and blue). Unlike my lame PCP at Mainline Health (Lankenau), Dr. Hall and his crew made an emergency appointment the next morning to check everything. He did a very thorough exam and advised that everything would be OK...very reassuring that there was no permanent damage. Ive been a patient of Dr. Hall for years and have found him to be excellent in all respects. Thorough, informative, and compassionate. I highly recommend him to all. And his staff is extremely pleasant and helpful as well.

My experience with Dr Hall was the worst I have had with any optometrist in the last 40 years. He showed little interest in my vision. He spent most of the time bragging about how much his practice is worth and how he plans to retire early. This shows in how many little expenses he tacks on. He charged me extra for Optos retinal imaging, but when the photos were not very clear because my eyelid blocked part of the field, he did not bother to take another image, telling me that it was “good enough.”He talked me into daily wear disposable contacts, which I do not regret. But he sold me a brand that is only available wholesale to optometrists, hoping that I would always have to order through his office. He had them in stock, but he charged me the $15 shipping charge. He said, “I’ll have to pay that to restock them,” as if he had to order all his boxes individually. I assume he charges everyone and then places a bulk order. (If you want a nearly identical brand, get Clariti from any online retailer.)Worst of all was the eye infection I got after my appointment. I went back two days later and Hall said that I couldn’t have gotten it from his office. Illogically, he cited another patient who had been in two days earlier with an eye infection. He charged my insurance so that he could tell me that it was pollen or allergies making my eyelid swell (I have never been affected by allergies). My eyelid was swollen and red for two months, and then I went to a better doctor and got medication to clear up the infection.I know that this is an eyewear shop on the Main Line, but I was still stunned by the prices of frames—starting at $500 before adding lenses. I guess Hall has a target demographic, and he milks them well.

Entire team at the clinic is excellent. Dr. Hall was very comfortable to talk and discuss issues in detail and done a detail check-up. I have been getting my eyes checked for years never have such a detail check-up or discussion with any of my previous Doctors.

I have to admit that I do not go to the eye doctor as often as I should. It had been a long time since I went to Dr. Hall at Ardmore Eye Care but it is always a pleasure. He does such a thorough exam and explains everything in simple terms. I feel confident that my new glasses will be exactly what I need and I promise to return within two years instead of 8!

Ive been going to get my eyes checked in big eye clinics for years now. After moving, I hunted around for someone nearby to get a new contact/glasses prescription. Decided to check out Ardmore Eye, and it was a really great experience. In and out the door in 40 minutes, a high level of attention from the staff, and an extremely thorough exam with good explanations about pros and cons of various options and my general eye health.Recommended!

Great experience today with Ardmore Eye! The young ladies were extremely pleasant and very accommodating. Dr. Hall was great, in that he takes the time to walk through and show you everything about your eyes and the overall health of your eyes! Just a great physician!

I first dropped in because I had broken my last pair of glasses and I saw their positive google reviews. Let me tell you - they exceeded my expectations! Excellent customer service and excellent professionalism; its a huge upgrade from Visionworks.

Overall, a good experience. However, I found from my visit, to many out-of-pocket expenses I had to cover myself. Never was an issue at other optometry offices Ive used in the past with my insurance. Service was prompt, efficient, and staff was very helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Halls for many years, and I cannot say enough great things about him and his team, especially Dana. I call them a team of miracle workers, because they really are - they really know their stuff, and are very flexible and accommodating with their patients. If you want the best eye care on the Main Line, you should immediately make an appointment with Dr. Hall. You will be glad you did!

Ive been going to Dr Hall for 8 years and every time I go I am treated like family. The very friendly and courteous staff are there to answer any questions I have. I have never had a complaint with the service and quality of eyewear. Highly recommended!

We have lived in Florida since 2008, but Dr. Jim Hall is still our eye doctor.My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Halls for quite a few years and we would still rather come to see him and his staff for our annual checkups than go to someone else in Florida. We come north twice each year, so that makes it convenient since visiting our hometown, Ardmore, each year is always a priority. Dr. Hall and his staff are kind, caring, and they really know their stuff. They are easy to talk to and very capably explain things better than most. They have state of the art equipment including a great new machine that eliminates the need to have your eyes dilated by drops, adversely affecting your eyesight for a couple of hours.
