I have been there twice and both times have been amazing. The first time was to replace the battery on my iPhone 6S. I dropped it off and he told me to come back in an hour. Fixed and works great.The second time has proved what a truly fantastic business they run. My same phone froze and wouldn’t reset. The owner took care of it. He opened the phone up, diagnosed, and fixed it all an a matter of 2 hours. Amazing. I was so sure that the phone was dead. And his prices are completely fair. Best place to have your iPhone taken care of!

Absolutely rude customer service. When I ask how tf your day is, I wanna know. I want to know how your day is before we have a conversation going. Don’t come at me telling me “what do you want” or “just tell me what you need” “no need for that positivity” absolutely trash customer service.

These guys were great. Yes I cracked my screen 2x in one week, during a quarantine where I did NOT want to leave the house, let alone hand my phone over and risk getting in contact with someone, etc... The team at Experimax had everything set up in a safe way, techs had gloves on, everything was communicated at a safe distance, etc... and my phone was fixed (twice). Thanks guys for the speedy and well done service!

Great option for gentle used laptops, desktops and devices. I traded in my old MacBook for partial store credit and it worked out great! They helped me understand my needs and even brought out a cheaper product from the back of the store so I didnt overspend on something I didnt need. I definitely recommend this spot if you arent able to buy new.

What sets these people apart from the other five or so mac companies in Asheville is their knowledge of mac machines and the selection of computers on hand. All at a fair price. And if you have an emergency,if its no-fool-around time, a powerbook suicide for example, this is the solution; and the truth is that often techs at other companies will end up sending you here anyway. I would only add theyre great to deal with.

Went in thinking I needed a new charging port for my iPhone 6s and Rich took one look at it, cleaned out the port and I was good to go. He also took the time to answer questions regarding a MacBook that I am considering buying. Great customer service. I will definitely be going back!

I had very high hopes, but am disappointed in the customer service that I have received from this company. I am typically not one to complain, but feel that I should share this in hopes that it will help someone else in the near future. I took my computer here for a repair a few weeks ago, on a Monday specifically, and I was told by a staff member that my computer would be ready in approximately two days. So, I call on the following Thursday to check on the status of the repairs, and the computer was no where to be found (thank goodness they found it after a thirty minute hold). A few days later, a week after the computer had been dropped off initially, during my second follow up, I was told that the machine still had not been diagnosed. After a couple more follow ups, and about a week and a half with zero progress, the technicians were finally able to determine the cause of the issue and proceeded to send the computer off for further repairs.During these follow up calls, I had to provide the workers with my contact information SIX separate times, as it was made apparent that no one was able to keep up with the phone number associated with their customer. Overall, the staff was friendly for the most part, but the lack of communication between themselves and I was unacceptable. Since I live about two hours away from this particular store, I was unable to pick up the computer since it was not ready during any of the predicted time frames - but, I am happy to say that they were willing to ship my product at no additional cost. 😊 I recently received my computer after three weeks and it seems to be working well - but, I received the package in the mail without the charger that was provided on the drop off date. I will say, I have heard from other customers that this is not the typical service that Experimac provides, which is a result of the primary owner and operator being out on maternity leave. Unfortunately for me, I just happened to catch them during a time that was less organized than usual. Needless to say, I hope my computer works properly and that I wont have to deal with this again.

I had a wonderful experience after a moment of terror during finals week when my computer would not turn on. Matthew helped me immediately. He was super friendly and helpful and fixed my computer right then and there. I will go back here for all of my computer needs!

These guys saved my 5 year old Macbook Pro and I love them for it. My trackpad failed, and it was difficult to find someone to fix it for a reasonable price -- the Apple store quoted me $600 for the repair. Another computer repair company in Asheville (the one with the most 5 star reviews) told me they couldnt do the repair, and not to trust anyone who said they could do it. I asked a few other mac repair companies who waffled and prevaricated ... Anyway, Experimac did it with no problem and for a third of the price of the Apple store. Bottom line: if you have a mac that needs real hardware repair, these are the peeps to do it.

These guys rock! Had my Iphone back up and running in minutes after I walked-in, and imparted some wisdom to extend the life of my phone. Would not hesitate to use again. Highly recommend.

They have the best trade in options. All the other Mac places in the area give you next to nothing. Once I traded my desktop for a laptop they provided other helpful services for free. I didnt feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me like the other macs places in the area did. Thats something that anyone can appreciate.

They got my macbook repaired after spilling coffee (w/ cream) on the keyboard. Given how expensive a new macbook pro is, I thought I got a good deal. The communication and customer service were excellent.

Went in to get my Mac repaired and both Kasia and Taylor were great. They were willing to go the extra mile to get mac repaired and attempt to recover my data. They were willing to explain what was wrong with my computer and explained the steps they were going to take to get it back up and running better than ever. I am defiantly going back there if my Mac needs repair, updating, or if I just need advice.

I want to personally thank Rich for helping me fix my (what I thought) broken MacBook Pro. After sitting on the phone with Apple support for 4 hours and going to Citymac and being told that my computer was “obsolete”.. Rich was able to figure out the problem AND fix it in about 30 minutes. Experimac is an incredible small business, with the kindest and most helpful staff possible. My husband and I have taken our laptops multiple times for fixes, and the technicians are completely honest and give you all the time you need to understand the problem and options for fixes. Recently my iphone had an issue, and the staff went above and beyond with helping us with the fix and giving their expert advice without asking for compensation. If only all businesses were like Experimac :)

I came in to get my battery replaced on a 2014 Macbook. Great prices first off. After I got my computer back the Mac wouldnt hold a charge. I took it back and explained the problem. They reordered a new battery, and said it might have been a defective battery. They said it was all under warranty, no problem.Came back and picked it up again. STILL wouldnt hold a charge after I got home. Brought it in again and they ran it through a bunch of tests and ordered a third battery for free, another defective one they concluded. Any other shop would have been upset, shocked, or frustrated at the whole situation but they handled with class. Mac is holding a charge now just like new!They really have great store hours, I wasnt inconvenienced about bringing in my laptop in any time. They were so polite about the whole thing and couldnt have handled it any better. Could not recommend them enough!

Really quick, cheap repairs. I would not go there to buy a used Mac unless you want a really old one. Thats all they had on display...four and eight year old computers.

Great independent​ Apple repair store. They also work on most brands of smart phones. Very nice, good, and friendly employees. You almost want something to go wrong with your electronics just so you have an excuse to go back. :-)

Go here FIRST (and avoid wasting time going to other places that won’t be nearly as helpful or easy on your wallet)! I wish I had discovered ExperiMac years ago. After I took my MacBook Pro elsewhere and was told it was going to be over $600 to replace the battery, the folks at ExperiMac helped me get it replaced for less money and less downtime. Not to mention they are the most helpful and customer service driven organization I have ever been to in terms of computer repair. Rich and Kasha were both amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. We were able to troubleshoot so many other small things by just bringing in for a battery repair. They have won me over as a customer for life and I will bring my phones and computers here from here on out.

I left here EXTREMELY happy with a big smile on my face. They were able to bring my MacBook Pro back to life with an affordable $125 water damage repair in only a day and a halfs time!!. I have brought two MacBook Pros in the last 2 year one 2014 and one 2019 w/ Touch Bar. Every time I go in for accessories,chargers or even phone cases, glass protectors, pop-socket or just have a ? . They have done everything they have said they would do . My 2014 MacBook Pro I carry it daily to work form The day I got it and haven’t had any trouble from any of them.

Went in for a battery swap on an iPhone 5. The cost of the battery exchange was very reasonable and it was performed without any scratches or dings to the hardware....Nice! Great staff to work with.

A woman working there told me she would call me back within 10 minutes, 1 hour goes by. I call back TWICE and get Tyler on the phone- not only does he give me a horrible attitude and not acknowledge my complaint about poor customer service, but he began to talk over me and told me that I deserve his bad attitude. When I asked to speak to his manager, he claimed the woman who I spoke to was his manager and shes not in the store. When I asked his name to write a complaint, he kept asking me Do you want us to call you back or not OVER AND OVER. Good thing I have a great memory. Also a good thing I didnt waste my time on a trip to Asheville to deal with these incompetent people.

The owner Kasia is an Awesome business woman! I dropped in to get a used phone and they arethe most fairly priced used iPhones I could find. I bought a 6s and also saw they had a 7+ it was a little bit more than I planned on spending but I had 7 days to return the 6 so I brought it back, and expected it to be a hassle it always is when returning used technology, but she had didnt hesitate to let me return it and the case, and swapped it out for the 7 and I don’t have to go through the process of a refund or anything just used the previous transaction for my new phone and even threw in a 20 dollar tempered glass screen protector on for free! She was awesome, worked fast, and there was no hesitation or confusion. If you need a used phone or computer you won’t regret taking your business here.

I was thinking I needed to replace the battery in my iPhone since I was not getting the battery life I thought I should. The young man I spoke with showed me some features on my phone that reduces battery drain, and told me that based on the info he retrieved from the phone that the battery was okay. He didnt try to just sell me a battery. I like that.

I dropped and broke the screen on my IPad Air2. Ouch. The tech pointed out that the frame was also bent. It was repaired at a fair (but expensive) price. I am 100% satisfied with the results.

A friend had given me two MacBooks that she had broken trying to fix herself....never having even used a Mac, I quickly became overwhelmed with the mangled heap of wires and chips that laid before me. I brought the jumbled mess to Experiment to see if maybe they could make use of the spare parts. Not only could they use them but they wrote me a check for it too. Kasia was very friendly and told me straight up the worth of my MacBooks and had me out the door promptly, junkless and check in hand. Great, I brought my sons macbook pro in with liquid damage grape juice. The event happened last year and we did everything wrong as far as possibly minimizing damage. Its fixed I still cant believe it! I truely believe that they tried very hard to give us a good outcome. I have to add that when it happened I took it to Citymac in Biltmore Park and the evaluation was more expensive then I ended up paying for the repair, I was also told it wasnt worth fixing . As a bonus nice group of people working there, thank you.

We were told that my partners computer would be fixed on a certain date, then when we drove an hour and a half from where we live to come pick it up, we were told it wasnt ready yet. This happened AGAIN. This time, we asked if they could fix it before we left, so we sat there for hours to make sure we didnt have to come back again.All we heard were excuses from the staff and never an apology. The technician who I handed it off to originally was working on it but he wasnt doing a good job, then they got fired (days ago), Im here by myself after 3 today.They had the computer there for about a month prior.Also, while we were there the last time, a girl came in and said that she had also been up there multiple times under the impression that her device was fixed when it wasnt, so others are having this experience as well.At one point while we were calmly suggesting options for how to get our laptop fixed to the technician (who was at first very reluctant to start working on it so we could leave with it that day), he got irritated and started raising his voice at us, which made me uncomfortable.He did end up fixing the laptop in the end, but I didnt appreciate having to make an extra 3 hour round trip drive to Asheville for no reason, or to have someone raise their voice at me and my partner out of his own frustration of being the only one there to mind the store and having multiple devices whose repair had been neglected for days or weeks that it had fallen on him to tend to.

Was a dummy and got my iPhone SIM card stuck in a galaxy. They got it out for me free of charge, and was super nice about it.
