Excellent food, slightly outside of downtown Asheville. Great variety on the menu. Changes with the seasons and great thought is put into the options. Thoroughly enjoyed the meat pie and the corned beef hash. The meat pie breakfast comes with a ton of food. The potatoes and beans are a wonderful combo. Nothing like a satisfying breakfast that hits some sweet and salty notes!

World class service and phenomenal food. Do yourself a favor and stop in for brunch and get the Gen & Juice with this excellent food. The steak sandwich is hands down one of the best dishes in Asheville and won’t break your wallet. Looking forward to our next trip back to visit Chef Dan, Casey, and the rest of this enjoyable staff.

Service was fantastic both times we visited. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The poutine was completely from scratch and absolutely amazing! I especially loved it with the duck confit. The atmosphere is very laid back and cozy. A great place for breakfast or lunch with a friend or significant other. Bonus: its dog friendly!

Its nostalgic for me to dine here. Growing up in the north, this place takes me back to my childhood. Delicious rustic foods, fantastically crafted cocktails. The service is authentic and genuine. I appreciate everything about the space you have created and will continue to be a frequent patron. My photo is of the breakfast sandwich (left) and the Yanky take on chicken and waffles (right). With Canadian coffee to boot! Items cooked to perfection and always yummy beverages.

The server was super nice. She gave me plenty of time to order and ask questions since I am a picky eater. The food I did get was quite good and I ate more than I thought I would. The place is small but its not loud and the decor is great and has that old antique feel. Also the menu changes so there is a variety to the food which is nice.

Forget all the other places in town. Best food, best service, best music. Everythings homemade from the bread to the butter, and the sausage is something even a semi-vegetarian like me can make an exception for. The staff really believes in providing the best quality EVERYTHING (they even make a point of buying their produce from farmers markets - BUY LOCAL!). Why go anywhere else? Cant rave about it enough!

Friendly service, great fresh foods. The brussel sprouts and the buckwheat pancakes both had a fusion of sweet and savory that made our taste buds smile. Poutine was spot on, duck confit was excellent. Neat to see the kitchen on the way in. We didnt get drinks this time, but the menu looked good, and the bar looked well stocked. Tonights was easily one of the best meals Ive had in years. Relatviely limited, yet broadly appealing, menu. Very inventive. Poutine w/ real, good chesse curds. An incredible 28 oz. ribeye. Fish & chips w/ plainly fresh, very crispy batter coating. Really interesting, creative use of different herbs in all of the sauces. Nom, nom, nom, yum, yum, yum, yum, says one of my dining companions.

Worst service. Wait staff has horrible haughty attitudes. I tried to call in an order, but was informed they refuse to do takeout orders whenever they are busy. So I was was forced to drive to the store and wait. When I arrived and told them I wanted to place a to go order at the store the staff walked away. 10 minutes later another waitress walked up and asked if I was with Grubhub because we dont do that. Never ate there and never will now.

Simple little restaurant located a little ways outside of downtown Asheville. Definitely a hidden gem! The service was outstanding! There were 2 employees working front of house and they both went out of their way to make our experience amazing! Felt so welcomed and taken care of. The food was ANAZING! So Im sitting here in this diner in Asheville and Im like I love this place immediately, it has a great mountain hippie feel. And as you all know I am in fact a mountain hippie. The food is amazing. Real, legit Vermont maple syrup. I noticed on the beer list that they have Ommegang and Unibroue (cuz I look at the good stuff first) and Genesee. Theres even a big neon Genny sign. And an old map of Lake Champlain on the wall. So Im like what is up with this place feeling all upstate NY, did they do this on purpose? Turns out they did! And its great! Best breakfast in Asheville. Totally recommended.

I really wanted to like this place and may consider going back to give it another shot, but I wasn’t impressed and my dinner companions were even less so. They loved the Brussels sprouts appetizer which they topped with duck confit per the server’s recommendation. Everything else fell flat though. The batter on the fish (and chips)was way too thick. Think corndog. I’m a former vegetarian and still eat that way most of the time. I wouldnot have fared well here if I didn’t eat meat, which I always think is sad. I had the NY strip steak. It was overcooked (medium-well) and tough. I even asked for a different knife. That helped me cut it, but it was still hard to eat. However - the squash side that the steak came with was absolutely delicious amazing!

Really interesting spot on New Leicester Highway. The atmosphere was cozy and rustic, yet modern. It was cool to see the kitchen on the way in. Beer and drink selection is extensive, with Canadian beers and whiskey, wine, and local taps (A must try is the homeplace brewing lumbercamp pilsner). The food was really good. I had the brisket plate and it was amazing as well as the walleye fish fritters appetizer. My partner who is vegetarian though, had a hard time finding something more than a salad to eat. She went with the buckwheat pancake substituting an egg for the duck, but they put still the maple au jus (definitely meaty) on it. Overall it was a solid meal for me, not so much my partner. The only things holding from a 5 star review was the inattentive service and lack of vegetarian options.

Well i wanted to like this place, but it started with a 45 minute wait to be seated at the bar, then it took about another 10 minutes for them to take our order and after our order was taken we waited another 45 minutes to get our food and it wasnt just the wait time, i ordered the poutine with duck and my wife ordered poutine and it was over salted, had just bad gravy on it and the cheese wasnt even cheese curds it was like ricotta cheese and the 2 plates ended up costing $31 which is ridiculous for fries with gravy and cheese. So all of that said i will not go back

Welcoming and smiling wait staff. Decent food. We had the Sawhorse breakfast and the poutine. Tasty, tender duck on top of the poutine.3 stars because, it was entirely too noisy with loud music; couldn’t hear ourselves talk. Also, no procedure for seating people so after the waitress greeted us and went to clean off a table another couple walked past us and was going to take our table. Thank you to the waitresses for clarifying with the other couple. Also, we had to ask for apple butter when it’s an in house homemade staple. Strange. We may get takeout another time. The noise and the odd entry made eating there unpleasant.Get the Poutine, maple sausage and apple butter to go. I hear the maple eclair is also good. Nice people. Just too noisy and awkward.

This is a great way to get a relatively quick, but expertly prepared spot of breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Excellent service delivers you anything from a homestyle meal to higher end fare, both in comfort and in a down to earth atmosphere. They offer eclectic beer options, can/bottle/draft, the latter of which can be had in a 1 litre Stein - my favourite. As well, they have a nice selection of spirits to be enjoyed in their bespoke cocktails. If you are a party of 3 or less, I recommend sitting at the bar.
