I watched an employee with a Moog Music shirt on do something quite disturbing. He was walking right near high five coffee (down the street) was a younger male, had a backpack on, and had sunglasses on. I watched him throw a rock at a car in front of mine, a newer blue Audi A3, if someone threw a rock at my s4, I’d be livid. I couldn’t believe what I saw so I didn’t even think to get out and say something. He didn’t just toss it to the side and accidentally hit the car, no, he INTENTIONALLY THREW it with a good amount of force at the car. If this is the kind of people Moog Music employs, I sure wouldn’t want to support them. Better find out who it was because this just cost you your 5 star rating, 4.9 stars now, and I won’t remove it until I get to talk to him.
Amazing. For synth and music heads or anyone else. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Geartopia!
The store is super cool and the staff is amazing! They arent currently doing full tours but they showed us around the store and guided us through the history of Moog synthesizers! Definitely worth a visit.
Awesome store front to test out some of the most iconic synthesizers. I am really glad that I got to play around with the Minimoog. They also provided masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer given that it is a smallish store and is a popular destination.
Really enjoyed our mini tour today with Jim, they were very informative and answered all our questions! You guys rock!
Great place to try out moog products!
Friendly service and tons of modules in stock - they let me bring my modular system in and play for hours before buying something. A+
Awesome staff! Very welcoming and knowledgeable
I thought this tour was very interesting. I thought it was interesting how they had some instruments out on the floor, so while you are waiting to go on the tour, you can play and listen to the music you are creating. The man that gave our tour was super nice and provided great information. I thought it was interesting how they show you how each keyboard is made. You do not always get many opportunities to be shown all the steps and factors that go into making these instrument. Watching all the employees work as we took the tour, was very interesting as well, because they seemed like they really enjoyed where they work and what they are doing. I do not know how to play an instrument nor do I have any interest in learning how to play, but it was definitely an experience you do not want to miss out on.
This place is awesome and shares our name. Employees treated us great.
Did a tour at the factory and it was exceptional! If you’re looking for something unique in Asheville, highly recommend a tour!Due to COVID restrictions, we were limited to just being in the showroom but we had a blast. Our tour guide’s mini tour was informative and we had plenty of time to play with the instruments. Every question we had, our guide was able to answer. His knowledge was very impressive and he was a super friendly guy. Many thanks!
Amazing service, awesome equipment, and the largest vintage modular synth wall I have ever seen!
Definitely worth the visit and free factory tour if you have time. The showroom is setup so you can play around with all the equipment - very cool. And the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Phenomenal showroom that’s setup actually allows you to play instruments pretty freely. The tours they do are always great and insightful.
This is one of the coolest places Ive ever visited. The tour guides and other people who work there are so knowledgeable and nice. I highly recommend visiting this place!
Moog Music has great instruments and a very skillful and prompt staff. I highly recommend it for those looking for high quality products. Rbt.
The most fun Ive ever had in a store! All the instruments are available to be played. Staff is great. Dont miss this place if youre visiting town.
I was delighted with the professionalism, customer service, variety of merchandise for all price points, and with getting to try out high quality equipment that Ive only ever seen in videos. Well be back soon for the factory tour!
Full disclosure, I work here. I will say that Id be here all the time regardless because I think The Moog Store is one of the coolest synth shops in the world. Come by and get a tour :)
We did a factory tour - this place is incredible and I absolutely recommend for anyone who loves music (aka everyone???). Our tour guide was amazing, everyone who worked there was so friendly and the instruments we got to see were absolutely fascinating.
Oh! My.
Great tour and awesome shop! Paul was knowledgable and personable. Excellent, all around.
Very laid back atmosphere. The guys in there are super friendly and will teach you how to use anything in the store.
Great tour and being able to play several instruments was awesome

Fantastic tour for free where you are informed about the history of Moog & you also get to walk through the factory floor. You also get to play around with a bunch of the synthesizers at the end.

Great vibes, God dwells in the hearts of those who work here. Was very happy to buy a Subsequent 36.989 ATA hard case and 🌈logo T-shirt.Played on the 16-voice MOOG ONE...and all I can now say is Dave who? JK...but I know the rev2 is NOT my next polysynth! Please pray my first single sells well once released! (Loud Clouds).*Will Smith: I GOT to get me one of THESE!!!
Great experience today! The employee who assisted me, Zach, was extremely cool and helpful!
One of the wonders of the modern world. Tell Paul Dr Steve sent ya!
The most amazing gift shop, the most amazing tour, the most amazing assembly place. It exceeded every single possible expectation. Paul Gaeta, gave an outstanding tour and the best tutorial on fundamentals of synthesizer that Ive ever heard my life. Starting with the Theremin, the Mini-Moog, the journey of Bob Moog and the company. Also a real American made product with employees that clearly take pride in their work. I just love this business and I want to save my money to get a Moog. My step son love the gift I brought home as well.
Even if you dont play, a visit here is worth the trip. Look into a tour of the facility. Amazing music history.
What a great experience. If youre a fan of music, Moog, or synths in general and find yourself in the Asheville area, you owe it to yourself to visit the storefront and call ahead to take the factory tour. Theres so much history and passion here. The staff are friendly and super knowledgeable. You could be a total newbie or a synthesis rocket scientist and theyll treat you with equal respect and dignity. The employees back in the factory are clearly impassioned. And I got a rise out of one of them in the Minimoog section when I pointed out that the rocket launcher option makes total sense from a rock and roll perspective, but gold plating has questionable acoustic value. Theres just a good vibe all around. I feel like each employee is participating in music history as they design and put together these famed musical instruments whether for budding bedroom producers or accomplished mega stars. There is pride of product here.Checking out all the gear in the storefront is a revelation. I could spend endless hours on a Minimoog alone, but all the synths youve read about are available for a test drive. Theres something to be said for playing around and experimenting with instruments back-to-back to get a feel for their workflow and sound. I thought for sure Id walk out with a Minitaur for desktop bass duty when I went in, but ended up falling in love with a Mother-32 semi-modular: simple enough to start with, but a hackers synth at heart, one with its own unique though distinctly Moog voice. Buying the Mother-32 direct from the store and the crew there has been a treasured experience.
Soooooo cool. Better than Christmas!
If you are in the area, take the free factory tour. Time well spent!
The tour of the factory was very interesting. A must see for any fan of synths!
I LOVE my Moog. its as simple as that. What a superb instrument.
A fun storefront where you can play with all kinds of MOOG synths, pedals and software. The products they have out for you to demo rotates frequently to keep it interesting. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. They also have some merchandise available as well. A definite stop when you are in Asheville!
Love my birthday Theremin. My wifes the best!!!
