Im not sure what can be said that hasnt already in the many glowing reviews Justin has received. So Ill just tell of my recent experience w/ Justin at Eisenman Guitars. This was my first experience w/ Eisenman Guitars. I hadnt needed any major luthier work in about a decade. On good authority, I contacted Justin about the work I wanted done on two of my guitars, my coveted early 70s Les Paul Custom and a recently acquired late 80s Greco LP. Justins communication was prompt and informative, as well as accommodating. I brought both of the guitars to his shop on the same day. He worked on the Gibson first since it only needed some nut work and a pro setup. He had it back to me in a couple of days and it was perfect. The Greco was getting a refret w/ Jescar stainless steel frets as well as a new bone nut and Faber bridge installed. He had this one back to me about a week or so later. Along the way, he kept me posted on progress as well as offering recommendations based on his years of experience. He was equally attentive to my preferences. All-in-all, I simply couldnt be happier with the results. Moreover, after seeing and playing his work I wouldnt have been shocked nor offended if he charged more than he does. And aside from all the guitar talk hes just a pleasant, genuine dude. If getting the best results possible is worth a brief yet painless wait to you (it should be), look no further than Eisenman Guitars. As long as hes providing luthier services in the Asheville area, Ill never go anywhere else. Thanks again, Justin, from one guitar dad to another.
Besides being one of the best guitar players and singers I know, I have come to realize after several rounds of mandolin/guitar problem solving that the guy that I know so well as ring skilled at all that other stuff is also a real force in the tricky business of diagnosing and addressing the root of whatever issue my instrument may present. Suffice it to say Justin’s work has left me satisfied. The results I experience every time I play my guitar and mandolin speak for themselves. Who knew? I do now. Thanks Justin.
High quality, professional luthier work with fast turnaround time. Justin did a fantastic job routing my electric guitar for larger pickups and installing them as well. Will definitely return for future projects. Thanks again!
I looked up the best Luthier around me and I am glad I did! So happy with the results! Justin is very talented and kind. If I ever need some more Luthier work I’m going back to him! Thanks so much!
Thanks to Justin, my 1965 GIBSON USA J-45 ADJ CHERRY SUNBURST is back in the family! I am overjoyed, as it is simply the best acoustic guitar this boy has ever owned (or played). Sometime ago, I managed to break the neck at the head stock. What a nightmare. I bought the guitar, summer of ’72 and it has been with me ever since. 49 years. It was difficult deciding who I should get to repair it. I needed to find someone who, in addition to be a fine luthier, I could develop some sort of a relationship with. I had that vibe from the get go with Justin. From my opening email of inquiry to, dropping the J-45 off, and finally to the finished product, I knew I had made the right choice The expression on his face when he opened the case and first saw the J-45 ADJ, told me it was in good hands. We ended up not only repairing the headstock, but after 55+years, it needed more than just a tune up. Justin repaired cracks on the top, planed the fretboard, replaced the frets, tuning pegs, missing rosetta, as well as replacing the saddle and bridge. And more.It was worth the wait. It’s been less than two weeks, and each time I play it, seems like the first time. I just can’t believe the sound, and how easy it is to play.Bravo Justin! Thanks for bringing back this beautiful guitar.
Justin runs a top notch luthier shop. He’s always quick, thorough and super professional with repairs. His custom builds exhibit a deep level of artistry, craftsmanship and attention to detail and I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a beautiful custom guitar. Also, your sentimental/fragile/expensive instrument will be in safe, loving hands the whole time it’s getting fixed up! Call Eisenman Guitars today!
Best there is! Dropped off 3 guitars and Justin knocked them out quick. Left inspired to play :0
The most important thing to know is that Justin loves what he does for a living. He’s in line with professionals in new York and the tri-state area with his attention to detail and work ethic. I will do business with him my entire time in North Carolina for truly it is a pleasure to work with him and asks for input.
I mean, what can I say? The work speaks for itself. Justin took my grandads 1945 Epiphone Zenith that was butchered by a friend of my grandads back in the 60s and brought it back to life. The neck was reset, fretboard reset, fretboard leveled, new frets installed, new binding installed, and completely refinished. It looks great, and it plays like a dream. I showed my grandad a couple of weeks ago and he was completely blown away. It was great to hear him play some mountain music on it. All of this was done at a price that was much better than the first estimate I received, and I cant imagine that someone else would have produced something better. Im just beyond impressed and will definitely be hitting Justin up in the future. Maybe if Im lucky I can get my hands on one of his Double Helix guitars someday. Thanks Justin!
Justin did a setup and fret dress on my strat. I am absolutely blown away with the results. I get to fall in love with this guitar all over again thanks to Justin’s skill. I will absolutely be taking my other guitars to him in the near future.
I am the proud owner of the custom-built Planetary Dreadnought from Eisenman Guitars. You can see the craftsmanship from the beautiful inlays in the headstock, but after talking to the designer it was clear just how much care went into each aspect of the build. It is an incredibly balanced guitar with rich tones that can fit almost any style. The back is made from cocobolo hardwood, which adds both a satisfying weight and an expressive dark look. The guitar plays very smoothly and stays in tune like a dream, so its possible to play for hours at a time. This guitar is very fun and easy to play, and it is definitely worth the investment if you love playing guitar. You wont be able to go back to a standard guitar after you have a beautiful Eisenman Guitar built just how you like it.
Justin did a fantastic job on my mandolin. After playing it hard for a few years with very little maintenance, it was in need of some TLC. Justin took it in and made it play better than ever. Turn around time was quick and the price was right. I will definitely be taking my other mandolins to Justin for freshening up as well. I highly recommend him to every stringed instrument musician.
Justin did awesome work on my 12 string! He clearly explained everything that was wrong and how hed go about fixing it, and now it is playing better than ever. Highly recommend his work!
Justin is a highly sought after luthier in Asheville. His work and personality both are a testament to that. I’ve had 4 different instruments in to him over the past year and a half and I’m on the schedule for repairs on a 5th. All of which come back in a timely manner and they always sound great.I highly recommend Justin for any and all stringed instruments.
Quick turnaround, fast response time, good communication. They fixed a setup/buzzing issue with my bass
Awesome service, communication and quality of work! It was a pleasure doing work with this luthier
I had Justin do a set up on a newly purchased Taylor 714. I have a 614 which was set up to my preference, he had me bring it in and let him get the measurements so he could set my 714 the same way. I had a bit of a string buzz and the action was slightly high. To lower the action would normally create more string buzz but he is definitely a professional who knows what hes doing. He got the action lowered and no more buzz, the guitar now plays as a Taylor should. Justin is a builder of high end guitars so a set up is a piece of cake to him. I am a cabinet builder so I appreciate nice woodworking. I admire the level of skill that guys like Justin has to be able to build an acoustic guitar. I was checking out his bracing techniques some of the wood he was working with, some lucky musician is goin to end up with a Brazilian Rosewood guitar! Very rare and beautiful. Justin is very kind and at my request, actually finished my set up 2 days ahead of schedule due to my being out of town on the pickup date. I will add, he worked until mid night to make that happen. Thanks Justin, much appreciated, definitely 5 stars!
Justin did an amazing job with my mandolin. Very easy to work with. He planed the fretboard, replaced frets, fixed cracks on the top, replaced the nut, and now it’s like I have a much nicer instrument. Very impressed with the outcome.
Justin did a great job with shielding my active jazz bass. Very reasonable pricing and less than a week turnaround. Would recommend to anyone looking for stringed instrument repair
Justin is just as capable working on your solid body electric as he is building beautiful acoustic instruments. I wanted an EXPERIENCED pro to set up my strat. Ive never been able to dial everything just right. Ive always had to settle for the intonation to be a little off, or my strings too high...wondering if the truss rod needed a turn but too afraid to mess with it. I got it back in a couple days and its PERFECT. It feels and plays like a dream. Thank you, Justin! Highly recommend.
Justin did some very professional work on my OC Bear Guitar. Planed my fretboard, put in a new nut and bridge AND all new frets. He was very reasonably priced and efficient. I’ll definitely be coming to him for all of my guitar maintenance in the future!
Great service st a fair price. Did an acoustic set-up and intonation on electric. Highly recommend.
Justins work is thoughtful and immaculate. Fixed a loosening bridge and some cracks on my 1965 Guild Classical as well as going above and beyond to get an old Telecaster up and running again for me, including a restorative fret treatment and super cool pickup wiring
I was in a pinch and needed my mandolin checked out before I went into a session.....Justin was the right guy to call. He did a great job setting up the mandolin and making sure everything was lined up and sounding good. Highly recommend his repair work
Very knowledgeable luthier that is not only very professional with their trade but also just a good person in general. Would highly recommend them for any repairs or even for a new acoustic you’ve had your eye on!
Justin has always been very responsive to my needs as a guitar player. Turn around times are great and he always responds via text very quickly. I enjoy supporting small businesses! Thanks Justin!
Great service for fret and neck work on my guitar. Plays wonderful now. Will highly recommend to my friends needing guitar work done.
Justin did an awesome job on my guitar. Ive worked in several music stores over the years, and many of the techs/luthiers Ive known just went with generic averages for setups and adjustments. Justin is one of the few who actually took the time to ask specific questions, and hes the only to ask me to play a bit so that he could get an idea of what I wanted. After he did the work, he was very clear in explaining what he did and what I might notice. His bench rate is very reasonable, and his turnaround was quick (and, just as or even more importantly, accurately estimated). Hes also very approachable and has no trace of the I-know-best attitude that many guys have. Id recommend him without any hesitation whatsoever.
I am super happy and impressed with Justin’s work on my strat. But he’s a lot more than just a good luthier; he’s fair, honest, personable and very affordable. The work he did on my strat’s neck was beautifully done, and now that I can properly set it up again, Ive been playing this guitar more than I have in years.Ive got a few other guitar mods and fixes that Ill surely bring to him as I can afford them, but he’s definitely my go-to guy now for guitar work!
I’ve had nearly my entire collection worked on by Justin over the past three years. Neck resets, rebraces, re-frets, finish work, set-ups, you name it. I’m a professional musician, and there’s no one around I trust my guitars with. He always takes into account my personal preferences, and style of playing. He’s timely, honest, and thorough. You don’t deserve such craftsmanship, none of us do, but here we have it at Eisenman Guitars.
Justin is a wizard!I brought in a custom hollowbody guitar for a re-fret and Frankenstein wiring job and he took on the project with precision and excitement. The turnaround was quick and he kept me updated the whole time, not to mention he offers the best rates in town in my opinion for the quality of work. Will reccomend him to all my touring friends. Plus, hes just straight up an awesome guy!Hit him up if want the good good.
Justin was very helpful and timely all the way from my first message to him about the issues with my banjo, all the way to the end when I got it back once he had fixed it. He did a great job fixing my warped neck and broken dowel stick, and did wonderful work for a reasonable price. I highly recommend him for any instrument repair you need done.
For quality work and outstanding customer service, look no further than Eisenman Guitars! This guy was more than willing to accommodate my needs, and even answer some of my dumbest questions-- I probably had more than a few! I look forward to bringing my guitar to Justin in the future!
I took my new Deering Hartford banjo to Justin for spikes and to tweak the setup. Small job compared to building guitars but Justin did it quickly and the banjo sounds great. I appreciate his great service and recommend him to anyone in the area or passing through!
I take all my guitars to Eisenman Guitars. Justin is a pro luthier and player— reasonable turnaround times, quality workmanship and professionalism. Thank you for your amazing work!
Justin has worked on several of my guitars, and each time I get one back its like getting a new guitar. Whether its assembling a partscaster, refinishing an old standby, or just doing a set up, Justin shows an attention to detail that always produces super results.
Justin recently replaced all the frets on my Taylor CE-410. The sound and playability are better than ever including when it was initially purchased . I will have all my guitar work performed here in the future and will recommend fellow musicians to do the same.
I had some issues with my main work bass that adjustments could not fix. Justin not only handled them quickly but very professional. I highly recommend Eisenman Guitars!!!
Justin has done work on my arch top kay guitar and installed a pickup on my fiddle. Both jobs were priced fairly and he did a great job. I plan on returning with more of my instruments and recommend his luthier work.
Justin did a fantastic re-fret on my 80s tele. My old guitar has a new lease on life!
Justin is a real expert at what he does. I used to work in a music store and we never had anyone nearly as competent doing repair work.
Such a professional and friendly guy. He helped me out in a pinch when I needed a pickup installed. He does excellent work!
The entire experience has been pleasant. First, I must commend Charles at Hayday Music for gifting me Justin Eisenmans business card. Ive never worked with a luthier before, but apparently it is what I needed. Justin has installed several modifications and just as many nuanced adjustments in the past few weeks. I am over the moon about Justins craftsmanship, overall presence, and ability to assure my spotty guitar vernacular gets translated into what I need/want. I appreciate his patience and willingness to hear me change my mind five times before I say, Final answer! To which her responds, Change you mind all day, well get it right! Super dope guy and business owner.
