They can tow a corvette, on a flatbed, without scraping the front end while loading and unloading. Get my Smogs there and always super nice. Use them, really.

AAA dispatched a driver out to my house 7/22/2021 and I just wanted to drop a note to say that he was terrific. He was thorough and informative and very nice to deal with. 7/27/21 I had made an appointment for yesterday to get a clamp and/or cable put on my new battery that AAA (through West Coast) had installed the day before. The old battery had had a broken post and there was a ton of corrosion and 6 or 8 months before, AAA in SLO said that the battery was still holding a load so keep on using it but I might need to replace the clamp and/or cable when the battery was finally replaced. I was there approx. 45 min. and was told after cleaning both items, that they looked ok, just a little corrosion was left and that they had put protectant on so they didnt feel right about replacing something that didnt need replacing or charging me for the time! Now, thats what I call FANTASTIC SERVICE! Ive always known them to be upfront and this proves it once again!

I had a flat on my motorcycle 7 miles out of Santa Margarita, and I couldnt fix it. My service called these guys, and they were great. They towed me to a hop in Paso Robles, and got ther before they closed. They went above and beyond in many ways, even helped negotiate the fee from my service. I cant recommend them highly enough. I always go to West coast when I need a vehicle smogged. Its always clean and the staff is friendly. Its located in a convenient location just off ElCamino in Atascadero. Customers seem to be very satisfied with the service they receive as well. When I have questions they dont mind going into detail to explain what my mind needs to be satisfied. Good shop and good people. I recommend them.

They dont sell batteries on Saturday? The guy behind the counter said they just keep things simple on Saturday. Didnt think walking to the back and bringing a battery up was complicated. Didnt need an install, just wanted to purchase. Disappointing, I always go there for my smogs and have purchased a battery as well, I guess that wasnt on a Saturday. Expected more than just call AAA and they will install it, sure, for a price. Again didnt need an install, just wanted a battery, he wasnt busy (one guy was sitting in waiting room), and as an established customer, expected better.

I work in Slo and last Saturday I needed to smog my 94 Toyota Landcrusier. I went to two shops in Slo that were open- but both said they could not until Monday at the soonest (because of age of car-which requires a different smog test machine than newer vehicles). I really didnt expect anyone to be open-but some were -and I thought I would try. Long story short-I called West Coast-they fit me in their schedule -for Same Day-and got it smogged quickly. They were professional and even cost less than the other 2 shops that said they could not do it until next week. I will be back for other auto work and based on my experience-would 4 sure recommend them to others. I was lucky to have found them.

This is the place to bring your old truck to get smogged, the know what to do to get them the best chance at passing. Not great if youre in a rush as they do thorough work. All the staff are easy going and friendly.

1/18/19 Had long-overdue MAJOR maintenance work done on ALL systems for my 1990 Toyota. My car now runs like a dream! Superb & thorough work! I also needed a few odd jobs done that needed odd parts. Ive been trying to find these items & also WHERE to get the work done since ... 2015. Three prior repair shops wouldnt take the time to even bother with this, nor do any research to steer me in the right direction. Joe, however, went above & beyond the call of duty to try & find these things - not an easy task for a 1990 car - & he found all but 1 item on my list. To my relief, some of the work can be done at West Coast, while others will need to be done at a specialty shop. Even better, Joe will continue to search for the one part I still need. This is a great place for repairs, general maintenance & smog checks. The 10% AAA member discount is also a plus. Thanks, guys & gal!

UPDATE: WCAT reached out to me after my initial review with an apology which is greatly appreciated. They also acknowledged that their communication with me through the lengthy repair process could have been better. I appreciate their effort to make amends. However, they returned the car to me with loose battery connections which is how I later found out they didnt disconnect the old alarm system as we had discussed. This required another tow to their shop where they still charged me for the labor to do what they originally told me they had done.They didnt replace the coolant reservoir which still splashes out coolant through a very obvious hole at the top which I had pointed out to them.

This shop really took care of me. From their tow service to fixing my car. I live out on a 2 mile stretch of a narrow and windy dirt road, and I was worried about them not being able to tow from there. Ryan was my tow guy, and he calmed me and assured me it wouldnt be a problem. They got it towed no problem, and the technicians at the shop got my car all fixed up. Came here for my smog after getting some work done on my car, which I didn’t realize would reset the computer so they couldn’t get a reading. They let me come back and everything went smoothly. I’ve had a bad smog experience at a place in Paso, so I drove all the way back to Atascadero to west coast auto because Joe was so helpful, and the service was fast, everyone is friendly and their price is great. They also had nice coffee in the waiting room, which was appreciated :)

My car was leaking gasoline in San Anselmo and I had to sleep there until a mechanic opened. West Coast Auto was very friendly and prompt in towing my car to their nearby shop. They gave me an ETA and stuck with it, and even better, they used my AAA discount and some hidden magic to fix my car for half the expected amount! Seriously--when does that happen? I was very pleased with their service and would definitely come back again, but hopefully in more ideal circumstances.

We were traveling home to fresno and our radiator blew on our truck, after we tried to fix the issue ourselves, after 3 hrs and needing a special tool which no one had, we called our insurance and set up to get towed to the ford dealer, Sergio shows up says whats wrong and we explained, he says we have a shop just down the road we can fix that for you. He towed us back to the shop and had some one come over and start working on it then. Had us fixed in an hour and had the truck running and ready to go. Mind you we find out the person that fixed our truck it was his day off and was working on his own vehicle. Daniel and Sergio thank you for taking the time to help us and get us on our way home. Sergio even called us a couple of hrs later just to make sure everyone is safe and we were on our way home. Thank you for your great customer service you will never know just how much we appreciated you that day.

Took my car there for some ignition repair and they returned my car broken. Cruise control was working fine, now it doesnt work(they didnt even check to see if it worked) and waiting hours for 2 days for their phone call! They never even tried to let me know what was happening, I had to physically drive there.0/0 stars if it was possible.

I had a bit of a situation with my truck. Blown radiator, coolant everywhere. Tim @ WCT Got right on it. Personable and efficient. He even helped me out with a couple extra things on my truck that he had no obligation to do. Thanks again Tim, and WCT!

Excellent towing service, they picked up me and my 70 Camaro on hwy 41 when the engine seized. They hauled my Camaro with care as if it was their own. That great experience brought me back with my new Camaro for a smog inspection. I dropped by on a busy Friday afternoon just make an appointment for a smog as they were very busy. They fit me in that very day and I was smogged and good to go that late afternoon.

Napa, CA. 12-26-13 @ 06:15 am Driver of a flatbed with the windshield frosted over coming at me in my lane. West Coast Towing, Atascadero on the door. White cab.He makes a turn from Silverado Trail (northbound) onto Lincoln Ave (westbound)and is in my lane coming directly at my car. Lived here for 60 years and he tells me at the USA gas station on Lincoln that he was making a wide turn and it just looked like he was in my lane. Been driving an 8 ton utility truck at work for over 30 years myself. This West Coast towing guy was flat dangerous. His windshield was clearly frosted over. Guess he thought he could just maneuver his way to get diesel without regard for any other drivers on the road. He told me go, ahead and call, I own the business. A real douchebag driving for this company. Feel sorry for the owners.
