The worst dealership I have ever bought a vehicle from!!! Customer service ends when they get their money! I bought a $75k truck from them. They lost one of the key fobs to it and said they would call when they found it. 2 months later I had to call them. They set up an appointment for me to come in during the week to program a new fob. So I took the morning off of work thinking it would be really quick. I sat outside in the heat for 3.5 hours only for them to tell me that they don’t have a fob for my vehicle. They had 2 weeks to make sure they had the right one!! Then the key guy said they would call me and come to my work to get it taken care of. That was 2 months ago and still no call. DO NOT BUY HERE!!! You have been warned!
I went to this dealership at the beginning of the year looking for a new car. I knew I wanted one that was Go Mango colored. I had built and priced several cars on the Dodge website. I saw that the Athens dealership had a Go Mango Charger on the lot. I wanted to see this color in person. Terry Patterson immediately helped me. He brought me keys to several cars I liked there. I fell in love with the 2020 Charger in Go Mango. Terry was so helpful. Thank you for the best service!

Shop is small and doesnt have everything in house and because of that, its slower and not as well trained in some things. Thats the only reason I gave it 4 star, The Champion group is easily the best FCA group in the area. The fix a lot of problems the other local FCA group creates/wont.
Found a vehicle online we thought we liked. Realized it wasn’t a 4 wheel drive. Tim the sales man, went above and beyond to deliver. Found a perfect vehicle for us and traded with another dealership. Bottom line, approved me very quick without having to jump through any hoops, especially since we had a large down payment. Next morning I was on my flight from VT to TN just to drive to AL and pick up the vehicle. Tim did the expert work. Got us in and out, and he was genuinely as excited for us as we were. Wonderful car shopping experience. Would highly recommend Tim and his team. Thank you for making the impossible happen!
I went to get my Jeep repaired. Took two days to look at to see what was wrong. Never called me to update me on the status. Had to call myself each time. Once they called me to tell me what was wrong they said they would call back in half hour with quote never called back. Called today to see how much and how long it would take to fix. Decided to pick my Jeep up and fix myself. Was told have to pay a diagnostics fee of 80 dollars. When my wife shows up to pick up my Jeep since I was at work they tell her 140 so she questioned them. They then told her you don’t have to be a B$&,h about it just pay and take it. I then called back once I heard about this to talk to manager could not get ahold of him. Tried calling both locations kept getting a go around. Once a manager finally calls me they suggest I call Chrysler to extend my warranty even though I told them I wouldn’t be taking my Jeep back to them and they are the only service center close to me. I would stay far away from this place. They have no customer service skills and I am still waiting on an apology for my wife from the owner.
Parts guy was extremely friendly. Only place around had part I needed.
Purchased a new Dodge Ram March 29. The bed divider gate was left out when they refreshed the vehicle before bringing it to us. After 3 long months (literally) of pressing the issue, a replacement was ordered and received by dealership. Their customer service STINKS! Three months is waaay too long to drag your feet and give the run-a-round. Will never go back for any reason.
While looking for a car I sent a few emails and only Laura replied to me she was great and helpful. She got me to the lot, Paul Robertson took over at that point. He wasnt pushy and didnt try to move me to something I didnt want. He helped me and stayed with me even when I went over to financing. I did have a break issue but he made sure that it was fixed and even came in on his day off to help me. He went above my expectations and I appreciate it. I would work with him or Laura again. 5 STARS!!!!
My husband bought a truck from Tyler which was a good salesman but now my husband is stuck with a truck that he is disappointed in. See screen shot below.
A oil change you can not make an appointment and they tell you it will take 2and a half hours. No one but the operator answers the phone, after that you get voice mail and IM waiting on a week and half so far to return my call. Frank Williams said someone from service would call me that week to come get my car and take it back to change oil. Never heard from service! Also the same day I tryed to trade vehicles and I made a offer and have NEVER heard a word!Very hateful people thru out!!I called champion dodge Chrysler in decatur. Got a appointment to have my oil changed since no one at landers was interested. Drove right up to service door at champion Chrysler in decatur at my appointment time. They greeted me by my name and 20 mins later, finished and ready to go! Thank you Champion Chrysler, you have a new customer oh I bought a new car every year from landers. I wont miss you!!

Was less than pleased with the service at Champion. Received a massive low-ball offer on one vehicle and was told the other would be wholesale. Employees were less than helpful in their dedication to customer service, as we sat in the lobby for 15+ minutes and was passed by multiple employees and not a one even spoke to us.
Was sold a 2006 ford f150 used. Not even a month into it it started falling apart. Took it too a local mechanic and all the spark plugs are bad. Timing chain is going to have to be replaced, serptine belt and idle pulley had to be replaced. Just felt like they were out to make a quick buck and leave me to suffer the outcome. Was told the plugs were the first things they check and it seems I was lied to. I do not recommend this dealship at all. Honestly feels like i was sold a lemon.

Service Department would not consider oil change even though they were still open for 30 more minutes and people were standing around. I live and work an hour away and cannot come during the week since I work during their regular business hours. I happened to be around for other reasons and this was my best opportunity. I bought this vehicle used and just needed to get in the system for information, etc. They were VERY UNACCOMADATING! Every other oil change company have managed to get me in and out within 30 minutes!
Do not waste your time with the service department, there are plenty of other dealerships to get your work done. Ive tried to use them twice but will not again, nothing but problems and excuses.

I bought a Wrangler from Champion. They did me ok on my trade. When I got ready to finance I called my credit union and was getting everything lined up. They needed monetary figures. The finance guy had the paperwork on his computer so I let them talk to him. He told them false numbers to make it look like I needed more than I actually needed so the credit union said no. First time they ever said no. I financed it through Chrysler. The next day I went to the credit union to find out why they said no. They looked at my paperwork and said he had told them I needed more money than they were willing to loan on the Wrangler but when they looked at the paperwork they said he had lied to them about the amount I needed. They immediately cut me a check and I paid off Chrysler. In other words the finance guy lied just so he could make a few dollars getting me financed.
Not going back! I made a service appointment, specifically said the tires need rotated and a full service. We dropped the truck off and specified again the main thing is tire rotation and FULL service, such as filters and all. The guy we left it with even wrote it down, but when we went to pick it up, the only thing that had been done was an oil change. The people that were present when we picked it up said they were only told to do an oil change. Not sure if they are incompetent or just a serious lack of communication, either way, we will go somewhere else next time.
So after being lied to, I reluctantly took my Durango back to Champion Dodge Athens Al. The service manager told me he would personally repair the vehicle. I picked my Durango up today. They told me that the left valve cover gasket was bad and that they replaced it. I inspected their repair when I got home. If they replaced the left valve cover gasket, why did they not notice or repair the broken valve cover bolt? Watch the video!!!!!!! Champion Dodge of Athens Al if you have lied to me how many others have you taken advantage of? I cant recommend Dodge products to anyone or their dishonest business practices. #NeverBuyADodge
We researched vehicles and stopped at several dealerships and had the same report from all of them. This particular dealership was not interested in selling a vehicle. The manager was cocky, uninterested in speaking with us and told us the opposite of what the other 4 dealerships told us. The salesman was nice but lacked knowledge on Dodges due to he normally worked with Chevy. Overall I was not impressed with this dealership and will be going to one of the others to purchase a new ride.
Went in for oil change and tire rotation. After service, realized they did not adjust tire pressure after rotation. Front tires run at higher pressure than the rear according to Ram. Service department should have known this and serviced tires to correct pressure.
I was so disappointed in this dealership! We are in the middle of a global pandemic and they didn’t wear masks inside but wore them outside. No diversity and literally no one wearing a mask nor social distancing. No matter how far away we moved from the salesman while he was unmasked and in our faces he would come right back every time we stepped back. As a healthcare professional it is sad to see them not taking their customers nor staff’s safety into consideration!!!
Went to have my oil change with no appointment. Work schedule is very crazy and this was my only day. Although he couldn’t really get me in today he squeezed me in and they provided free lunch during my wait. not every day you get treated like a “champion” at CHAMPION OF ATHENS! Thank you guys so much!!!! Excellent customer service!!
After having a warranty repair completed at champion dodge Athens Al. My Durango started to leak more oil. I took the Durango back to champion dodge Athens Al to be checked. After their inspection, they told me there was no oil leaks found. Pictures dont lie. Clearly champion dodge of Athens Al service department technicians are ignorant. The worst service I have ever seen. Never again dodge never again!!!!!!
I had an issue with my transmission and brought it in to the service center. Not only did they replace my transmission, but they put me in a rental until it was ready- and Constance even made sure the rental was big enough to accommodate my large family, and they shuttled me from the dealership to the rental car place. Everybody from the service center was incredibly kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend!

If I could rate zero stars I would. I had an appointment on Friday, March 29. I work all the way in Huntsville, and had to take off work to make it in time. I get there & they told me I had to leave my car there for two weeks & couldnt give me a rental. You would think they would let you know that, right? Told me to come back on Monday around 5 and they would have a rental waiting for me. Monday I called & confirmed I would have one. I get there, the doors are locked and I had to knock for someone to let me in. They said my rental was gone & they would call me when one came in. Two days pass & no phone call. I called to speak with manager to speed the process up & let him know what was going on. He didnt apologize, said it wasnt his fault & that he would call me later and hung up. Still no phone call till this day. That was my last experience with this dealership.
Incredible and nice people. I got my jeep here and it is stunning. The staff dont hound you the second you get on the property for your car or if you are buying one. They are inviting and the atmosphere is calm.
Got my oil and fuel filters changed. Then my engine light needed to be cleared and updated. They were friendly and answered my questions. Definitely will go back for service again!

Took my car in to have a repair done. The service department was friendly and fast. They took it in quickly and got it taken care of within a few hours. Highly recommend the service department.Only complaint was with the sales department. I had 3 sales associates walk by me while I was looking at cars in the lot and not a one said a word to me. I actually had a couple of cars I would have been interested in getting more info on but is what it is.
So I came here because of the poor service from another Ram dealer. All I can say is the staff here understand working with customers and they know how to treat them. The service department is very good and friendly. They got me in no problem took care of my recall and it took no time. I havent had customer service like that in a very long time. Im glad that there are still some places that good quality customer service and support. They have managed to gain a return customer from me and anyone else I can send their way.
Amazing car buying experience. Erik B. was a pleasure to work with, his dont give up attitude helped me secure a great rate and an awesome new Ram! We were able to email all required paperwork to him and in less than an hour we were out the door with my new vehicle, my kids couldnt believe how quick the process that normally takes hours was so fast. Service department was incredible! Other dealers werent able to see me for over a week. They took my truck the next day and I was in and out in an hour.

He told her to give him our info and he called her back shortly after with everything she wanted and payments. Went picked car up and was in and out. Took longer test driving car and looking at all the features than signing paperwork. Awesome service. Will repeat business
I worked with Erik Brown and it was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. Everyone was extremely helpful and fun to work with. Erik was up front and did not try and play the typical car salesman games. I wanted a very specific jeep and Erik found it and had it to me in just a few days. I would recommend this dealership if you are in the market for a new car.
Had my car towed to Athens Champion Dodge a week ago. Received absolutely no word from them for four days. I called to ask about the status and was told that they were bringing it in now and they would call me. No call... I called back the next day. Same story... they just brought it in and would call me. Still no call. I called back again today (late afternoon ) and was told that they were bringing it in the garage now but the the guy that they had to crawl in the trunk thru the back seat to pop the trunk was “ a big ol feller” and was having a problem getting in there. I seriously doubt that they are even looking at it now. I bought this car ( Challenger RT Shaker Plus) brand new from Champion Dodge Athens. I just feel that cars requiring service should be placed in line as they are received in. I venture to say that there was a lot of cars pushed in front of mine that should have gone to the back of the line. How can a car sit for over a week and not even be diagnosed? Come on guys... I’m going to trade this car in for a 2020 Challenger but it won’t be with Champion Dodge of Athens Al. This is pitiful Management.
Great experience. This is the third vehicle we have purchased from Champion. David Ivey is a very knowledgeable salesman and genuinely wants to help people find the right car for them. In all of our years dealing with Champion we have no complaints. They have a great service department as well that we use for repairs and servicing.

This is the best repair shop in Alabama. They are hands down the most knowledgeable, friendliest and hard working guys in the business. Its a 2 hour drive for me to get to them, but they are worth it!

Everything went fine until it came to mistakes that was made and then you can not get in contact with anyone. My vehicle was registered in a different state and the taxes was supposed to be added to the payments ... thats why my payments went up an additional $50 a month, but when I get to the clerks office they inform me that the dealership shorted them on covering the taxes... so I had to make up the difference so I could get my tag.. and absolutely NOBODY will talk to me about that.. including the general manager Michael. I have left multiple messages and never get a response.Other than that, love the vehicle.. as long as there are no miscommunication or complaints about their service or vehicle youll be fine, but if you have a problem, you become a burden and nobody wants to talk.

Made a phone call to the dealership for service of a problem 2 other dealerships have blown off as no diagnostic codes found .the lady on the phone made time for me to explain my issues and without hesitation named what several other people have told me is wrong..very knowledgeable and attentive ..pleasant somewhat refreshing phonecall considering what Ive been through with the other two dealerships. If it were possible then I would give this place zero stars. I had my vehicle towed here on Monday July 2. After calling multiple times to check on the status of my vehicle, I would go to this place in person only to be given the run around. After being told my vehicle was repaired and paying for it I go out to crank it and it doesnt start. Got a refund and gave them 1 more day to fix the problem after which I got the vehicle towed to a different shop. My car was there for almost 4 weeks.The mechanic I took it to had it fixed within 3 days of when he started working on it.If you have something wrong with your vehicle that is not a simple fix then take it elsewhere. Even with the advantage of having technical support from Chrysler in Detroit these people could not fix my problem. Couple that with mechanics who are only paid for allotted time on a job instead of by the hour, what happens is when they use all the time they were allowed they will push the harder job to the side and do easier jobs to get paid and then work.on your vehicle when they have nothing to do.
I remember this dealership since I was a kid and it has only made the community better. Great locally owned and operated business with great brands as well as a huge pre-owned selection which can be used for one stop shop comparison shopping such as Nissan, Honda, Ford, BMW etc. It is a great advantage to place the car you were going to go and see right next to the car you are currently looking at to see how which is best for you.

I had been to other car dealers prior to doing business with this place and i never felt respected by anyone i attempted to do business. I called this place at the 1st of February to inquire on a vehicle but wasnt 100% sure yet if i wanted to trade. After a few weeks of weighing the pros and cons i decided to go through with it. I have never done business with a sales person that was as professional as they were. They treated me with the utmost respect and made me feel very welcome. I am extremely pleased with my saleman Chris along witht the rest of the staff here. I will definitely do business here again and i will highly recommend this place to my friends.
I recently purchased a 2017 Ram. The truck was filthy sitting on the lot. They took it to the detail shop to have it washed. It wasnt until it was home and in the sunlight that all the scratches and swirls were visible. Once I started polishing the scratches and swirls out of the paint, I discovered three small dents in the hood (one right next to another) and a ding in the rear bumper. I can say with certainty none of those dents and dings were from me.Between the swirls and dents I dont even want to drive the truck! It makes me sick thinking about it. I sent the GM an email letting him know I wasnt happy a couple of days ago. Havent heard anything back. I cant imagine theyll want to take care of the dents for me. One of those How do I know it didnt happen after we gave it to you? scenarios. If the GM reaches out to me and offers to make it right, Ill change my review. Lesson learned:ALWAYS INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. EACH TIME! Dont assume because it is new, it is flawless, or the people doing the work are professional, careful, honest people.Look at the vehicle in the sunlight to check for paint damage.Check the detail work. Did they do the engine compartment? In my case no, which makes me wonder how the heck do these new vehicles get SO dirty?! The dirt and grime on the outside was found in the engine compartment as well.Im already regretting this purchase. If they had done a quality job on the detail, and carefully inspected the vehicle for, and fixed, any damage before passing it along to me, this would be a different story. Just not happy. Not happy at all. For $35k, I expect better.UPDATE: Took the truck to the dealership, and they took care of the damage. Just wish they took a little more care in detailing the vehicle before I took possession.UPDATE: Well I signed up for a warranty plan when I purchased the truck. I received the plan in the mail and decided it wasnt worth the $2200 they charged me for it. I went to the dealership and signed a cancellation notice on December 23rd, 2016. I checked my account and as of January 20th it had not been credited back. I called the warranty provider and was informed they had not received the cancellation notice from the dealership. I tried to contact the dealership to speak with somebody who could help me out but nobody was available to speak with me. I tell you what, this dealership is in need of a shakeup. Im paying interest on that $2200 as I wait to have it credited back to my account. I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS AGAIN. Too many issues, very unprofessional.

I have been truck shopping all over north Alabama for months knowing I had some budget constraints that would make buying a truck like winning the lottery. After talking to Dodge, Ford, GMC, and Nissan dealers from Birmingham to the TN state line, I was ready to just stop. I had looked at a couple of trucks at Champion Dodge in Athens, AL during the entire search process and they just couldnt get to the numbers I needed. Thanks to a Sales Manager - Sheldon - remembering that I needed all the help I could get, a pair of Sales Consultants - Terry and Chad - keeping their head on a swivel thinking of multiple ways of working deals.....I got my truck. Coincidentally a nice couple from TN got a good truck that gave me a lot of good miles. At any rate, I cant thank the sales staff - cant forget Dan the money man - for one of the best car-buying experiences ever. If you are looking for a great car or truck - you should be looking at a Dodge or Chrysler by the way - and go anywhere but Athens, AL.....you didnt go to the right place. Sales manager was rude and unprofessional. Became very rude and snappy in less than 5 minutes of negotiations. Barely came off the price any, we went to Landers McClarty in Huntsville and they gave me 7k off the price for a superior product to what was on the Athens lot. I would recommend driving up the street to Landers McClarty in Huntsville and not wasting your time in Athens.
They have the best customer service and give you the best deals possible.
