I had a great experience dealing w/Boutique Guitar Exchange. Very courteous Customer Service. Matt helped me construct the perfect Tyler Guitar. Very knowledgeable... he made a suggestion w/a Neck+Bridge pick up button that adds another level of versatility to the sound. Highly recommended, I will be shopping w/them again!
The staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to guitars. They did some work on one of my Les Pauls and it now plays better than the day I got it. They always have a cool selection of the newest guitars on the market.
Great experience. Not only is Matt knowledgeable, but honest and concerned with making sure we got what we needed. I was going to trade in my guitar but after long discussion Matt told us what we needed to upgrade the components and end up with a better instrument. Talked himself out of a sale but into at least two new customers. Thanks Matt!
These guys were helpful, approachable and knowledgeable. We picked up a travel case for my sons electric guitar and some strings. We had a pleasant chat and they offered up a special on lessons. Its always good to shop local and well be coming back.
Had the mount on a Snark tuner I bought there break the day after I bought it. I didnt have a receipt, but they took it back and were very nice about making it right. They didnt have any other Snarks, and I needed some strings anyway, so I exchanged for a couple of packs of strings and some picks to make up the difference. They were a pleasure to deal with. I went in expecting a fight since I didnt have my receipt, but got zero pushback.
Wow, someone went to a lot of trouble to vilify this store! For me, I came where I live in the Virgin Islands to send my daughter to college in Georgia. There, I first saw a Cole Clark in this store. There, I first heard Maneli Jamel play in this store. There, I was able to work with Matt financially and I decided to raid the IRA and buy a signature guitar that will probably be the best musical instrument that I will ever own. Customer service was four and a half stars, for me, but the whole life experience with this guitar is five stars, just because I do not want to be like that poor miserable soul whom I commented upon earlier.
I have called there twice and gone there three times during business hours and nothing. No answer and the doors were locked.I just moved from Chicago and I am used the awesomeness of The Chicago Music Exchange.
Very knowledgeable and a great small store. There are people that should go to guitar center because they dont know any better and need to go through the painful, and expensive experience of learning the gear and how to use it.But as a professional musician of 30 years, Id rather deal, AND LISTEN, to people that actually know what they are talking about, and will offer good advice rather than the ignorant hustle of the salespeople at other stores.
Excellent store, the staff was knowledgeable and willing to work with me to get the guitar I purchased back to Texas. They carry good equipment and have a good used selection
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! These guys sold me a lemon of a guitar and refused to refund my money. Absolutely appalling that they would treat a customer like this. It had much more damage than I was led to believe. Seriously, take your business elsewhere.
Zero customer service. .. Apparently in their attempt to be hip, cool, retro ams all that they have succeeded only in being disinterested, off-putting douches. Id rather go to guitar center.
The shop is not along Whitefoord Ave anymore. Call before coming as it has temporary opening hours for now.
This type of store is the last of a dying breed. How can one claim their hipster crown and shop at giant Wally World style music stores. They carry guitars from foreign lands that Guitar Center never heard of. Also visit just to chat with the chill new owner and his dog. All previous reviews are irrelevant.
I want to start off by saying all of the 4 and 5 star reviews about Boutique Guitar Exchange are lies, I live close to the store and know for a fact that those reviews were falsely written by employees and friends of Boutique Guitar Exchange. The most accurate review is this one:Zero customer service. .. Apparently in their attempt to be hip, cool, retro ams all that they have succeeded only in being disinterested, off-putting douches. Id rather go to guitar center.Ive frequented this shop on and off since 2010 and every time I go into the store, the rude salespeople make me feel like a second rate chump whos going into their place of business to cause trouble. The minute you come in the door, the cashier has this elitist, snobby attitude and barks at you for touching any of the instruments on the wall. When you actually try to make a purchase or need a guitar cable to test out equipment, that same snobby salesman has suddenly evaporated into thin air, nowhere to be seen or assist you. Lets set the record straight - Boutique Guitar Exchange does not value customer service or people at all, they want your money. This guitar shop uses upscale retail terminology and smoke and mirrors to hide the fact that they hire uneducated backwoods hicks for the cashiers and salespeople. I used to work at Sam Ash in Marietta and we never treated a customer with such disdain and hounded them for money. Let me repeat, Boutique Guitar Exchange does not value good customer service. They are ravenous wolves that will rape your pockets and sell you any shoddy product, they dont care about you, you are a mere dollar sign to them.
