Korean grocery located in Round Rock in a shopping center that also has a hair salon, k- pop booth and a small food court. We went to the store because we were told about the food court. We ordered from the restaurant in the middle and we ordered seafood pancake (with shrimp and squid), stir fry beef with glass noodles and vegetables, and bugugi (beef short ribs).

I did brought 8 randomly live crab from Hana World Market. When I brought them home, I steamed them with boiled water for 20 mins to make sure its fully cooked, and I found out that is different than before, all the crabs meat are green, with a really bad smell, so I went to the store to inform them that crab might not good, maybe because of parasites. I took photos and brought in 2 cooked crabs to the store which is opened with green meat, but the manager kept telling me its normal and the differences between male crab and female crab, and the manager ate the crabs... I know crabs meat should be white, isnt it? by the way so manager is so mean.

Beware of possible prejudice if youre black. Im finally getting around to writing this, but on April 8th, I was humiliated by the short man (maybe manager) standing around after checkout. He rudely singled only me out and blocked the exit/ wouldnt let me leave. He asked me for my receipt, which I told the cashier I did not need (so I didnt have it on me). The cashier ran to the restroom after checking me out, so there was no way to confirm. After 5-10 minutes of other customers walking past and staring, the checker returned and allowed me to go. Very clean, has a good fish market, without the odor of most competitors. This market is well stocked with good selection that is organized and doesnt have the feel of chaos that many others I have visited are so well known for. My familys new go to! I came to enjoy the food in the food court just inside the inner doors of the market. They usually have 3-4 vendors inside with a variety of Asian cuisine. Today I enjoyed Korean salad with raw fish. I paid $10 (cash only or take your ticket into the grocery to pay credit/debit) for this amazing dish! Fresh and deliscious served with kimchi cabbage and potatoes, also with a side of chopped sardines as a garnish. If she asks if you want hot sauce, be sure to ask for it on the side, I didn’t and she doused my beautiful fish in the sauce. Good but way too much. The grocery store is also always an adventure.

If youre looking for very authentic tasting Korean food. Go Hana Yoree. I usually dont eat spicy but I really love the Kimchi rice set. The spiciness was perfect.I was also amazed at how good the mackerel tasted with a little salt and fried to perfection. There was a little crispy part at the ends of the fish. Must go again.

I was told I needed to fill out a membership form. The lady at the checkout made it seem like if I didn’t have a membership then I couldn’t shop there. She seem to make a big deal about it. I went to the website and saw nothing about needing a membership to shop there so I am pretty confused. Other than that I really enjoyed the huge selection of food that they have.

I really enjoy this place, and it probably has everything you need for your Asian cooking needs.I see people complaining about the help, but this is like going to Walmart or HEB, so dont expect any better.Granted, they could put up signs on the hallways, but then again the variety is so dense that it just wouldnt cover everything they have.As far as prices go, theyre decent. Again, just like any supermarket. Why do people expect a personalized service really beats me... if youre looking for an ingredient guide or what each thing is, look it up on Google.

Review №54

It is clean and nice. I would have rated it 5 stars if this is branded as Korean but it is branded as Asian so a 3-star rating is my based on that description. Why? If you are not after Korean food but after the food from Asia in general, you may find this quite limited in fresh choices. Dried goods are somewhat ok. We didnt see variety Southeast Asian (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines Vietnamese etc) and South Asian (North and South India, Sri Lankan etc) as much as its tagline has claimed. Chinese and Japanese frozen goods and fresh produce are there but all substituted with mostly Korean styled & Korean made which are actually very different. Not that it is not good (it is clean, well packed and awesome as Korean food) but if you are not after just Korean food you may think I should have known this is a Korean store and only come here when you want to cook bibimbab or rice cake, chapchae, or when looking to buy bibigo brand goods.

Br
Review №55

Id say this place is mostly Japanese and Korean based. Some food dining options are available off to the right as you walk in. The rest of the store has all of the well known food items between those two cultures, along with a few other cool things. There are some grocery items I absolutely wouldnt eat just because of what they are, but hey, thats just a cultural difference on my part, so nothing against the store. For those that eat those things, I suppose its a good place to find those items. Has the typical Asian grocery store aroma, but its tolerable and nothing out of the ordinary. I go here mainly for my rice and for curry ingredients, along with a few other things I get from time to time. Good place to shop overall. Bring bags though, as they dont provide any. They do sometimes have empty boxes theyll give you, but they occasionally dont have them available.

Very decent selection of more exotic dry food/seasonings/poultry/fish/candy/etc.. Very decent prices on fish, not so decent prices on exotic fruit, but they do have some nice items if you are up for the price.Bit of an odd smell to the place. The one issue that bothers me is that its hard to find an employee to help you find something, let alone one that speaks English. But if you know what you are looking for they probably have it somewhere. That aside its rapidly becoming my go-to for fun asian cooking projects. Definitely worth a visit

Well in my opinion this is by far the best market Ive ever shopped at. Seafood lovers definitely need to go and experience the fresh fish, clams, oysters, squid, octopus, and a variety of crab. The variety of Asian food is awesome. They have all the cooking utensils that one can use to cook and serve a great seafood, Asian dinner. It is very large as well. Take time to check out all the aisles! Such a variety of fruits and vegetables as well. Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere is awesome. Selecting the fish you want they will clean and cut off head and trim for you. For as busy as it was for the Grand opening, the check out was fairly quick. Enjoyed the experience very much. Definitely shop there again and again. There is no market like it in San Antonio, or any other city Ive had the experience visiting. Highly recommend you go at least once. You will be hooked for life! A must go place!

Im a white American very steeped in my own culture, but fairly well travelled. Ive been to Japan and Vietnam; worked there for a year. While its not my job, Ive also cooked, a lot, since I was 5. I respect and adore these people and their culture and have become familiar with many of the skills appropriate to preparing Asian cuisine. Between their inventory, their prices, qualityand, most importantly, the way Im treated in a place clearly meant as a cultural home alternative is always a very humbling surprise. I am grateful for this World Market and visit them often.

Great little Korean supermarket. They have a good variety of items. Their cafeteria is very popular. I always judge the quality of a Korean restaurant by ordering the bibimbap, kinda like chicken tenders for American restaurants. Go here for Asian shelf stable foods not fresh veg or meats or frozen foods. Not sure on the fish since we skipped that section. The slim meat selection was previously frozen/still frozen and some meats appeared to have freezer burn. My advice to management; stop trying to be an Asian market, you have already lost to Ranch99. Add AND advertise that you offer traditional US foods/snacks at your market (milk, bread, etc.) to get the neighborhood surrounding you coming in and add cooking demos to encourage people to add Asian foods to their daily life.
