Wonderful store! Im a casual smoker and went in on my birthday to get a cigar. After talking about cigars and pipes for a while, I ended up leaving with my first pipe and everything I needed to get started, all for barely more than what I was planning to spend anyway (and Ive definitely already saved more than that by switching to a pipe)! Probably one of the best upsells Ive ever gotten; Im very satisfied with it. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. I highly recommend Pipe World to anyone who is looking for a place to find or learn about good tobacco products.

Carl is amazing and is very knowledgeable! Im new to cigars and he walked me through the process, I will definitely be back.

Update: As of May 2021, I have decided to nolonger give PW my business due to the staffs behavior towards me. There are more than enough cigar stores in Austin now, such as: Havana House North or South, Cigar Vault, Bolivar Cigar Shop & Private Smoking Lounge, Bobalu Cigar Company, Casa de Monticristo, Ashes THE Cigar Lounge.

Great lecture on all tobaaco types, my favorite is mint (great for flu season) and castle (classy)

I am by no means a cigar smoker, I save them for celebrations and special occasions, but Pipe World is by far the best tobacco shop Ive ever visited.The guys in the shop are super knowledgeable and took the time to actually explain cigars to me which no one had ever done before. I appreciated all the insights they provided and will definitely be back.They have a unique and varied selection of not only cigars but pipes and tobacco as well. This shop is a true gem!

The Best tobacco and pipes in town with super friendly staff. Everything for both pipe smokers and roll your own smokers. Lots of other neat stuff too...like complete shaving supplies and equipment going all the way back two double edge blades and straight razors. They also have Zippo Lighters and Zippo Flints. Have you tried buying Flints lately. They have em.

Well as far as pipe shops go this is pretty much got it covered theyve got a wide variety of tobacco and smoking accessories and pipes, gifts & gift ideas. I just decided to find a different place to buy pipes for other smoking practices that require pipes that can hold up. Not the second you drop it on the floor it breaks. . So I got the wild idea to go to a tobacco pipe shop where they would be virtual selection of them including the Sherlock Holmes meerschaum type pipes that I thought were very cool and they even had one that was so cool it had its own case with a mink lining. Yes I said mink lining. It was very cool even though Im a Hannibal rights person.. lol! (Kidding) And they had a wide variety of other meerschaum pipes that were equally as cool and indifferent carvings and what not if you know anything about meerschaum pipes the more you use them the more character they get. At the huge cigar room that has endless varieties of cigars kept at the proper temperature and humidity to ensure a quality smoke. Enough said this is a wonderful place to go shopping and the people there are wonderful as well very friendly and very.. accommodating. And thank you! You guys for helping me out I was very satisfied.

A great store for tobacco and pipes. Went to ask questions about pipe smoking and was given lessons on pipes, tobacco and how to load pipes. They were very informative and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Googled Pipe Tobacco because I wanted to try smoking something other than the occasional cigar. This came up a couple hits down from the top. Looked at the other reviews posted at the time and was weary due to most being from A Google User. Decided to at least go check it out and I wasnt disappointed. I walked in and said I was interested in giving pipe smoking a try and the two guys were full of information. I didnt feel pressured to buy some high end stuff and ended up going with some low entrance cost stuff and couldnt be happier.They explained the difference between the many types of tobacco for pipes and also explained pretty in depth on how to differentiate between them. They have a minimum weight for loose tobacco (2 oz. the blend I ended up choosing was only $10 for the 2 oz.) Any questions I had they answered and expanded in an effort to fully educate. The only thing they didnt do was to show me how to pack a pipe or clean it but they did give me a small pamphlet explaining how to properly do both. Took a brief look at the cigar selection and wasnt disappointed either. Much like the tobacco selection it covers almost all of the spectrum.They will definitely be getting my business again. Highly recommend to newcomers who want to try smoking, or veterans who need to replenish stock.

Havent been here in a while. Nice selection of pipes, humidors, and cigars. Prices were pretty competitive with Habana House, too bad there isnt a South Austin location for Pipe World or they would be getting more of my business.

Im quite new to smoking pipe tobacco and the staff has been unbelievably helpful, kind and generous. I will not go anywhere else. They have an awesome membership program for only $10/yr and you get %10 every purchase!! I of course became a member myself and I couldnt be anymore pleased with my decision to do so!! They have given such knowledge and good advice to my newly found hobby!! Yall are awesome!! Looking forward to seeing you in the shop next time!!

These guys are top notch. Im relatively new to the pipe world and had a ton of questions. Ben was very patient in showing me numerous pipes from their extensive stock and Cail answered every question I had about pipe smoking. The selection of pipes and tobacco are on point and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I will not go anywhere else in Austin!Keep up the good work, guys!

Great staff—very helpful in finding the right pipe blend for you and are extremely knowledgeable about different cures, tastes, aromatics, etc. They’ll even show a newbie the proper way to pack, light, tamp, puff and enjoy a good briar, then send them home with a pamphlet on pointers, tips, and tricks. AAA+ shop. I’m a little sad they’re closed on Father’s Day, but I also have great respect for them doing so. Good folks behind the counter and in the lounge. Always a good conversation to be had there.

I’m in town on business. Saw this shop on line and gave it a try. I’m so glad I did!!! Bought a great Nording at a good price. Man at counter was knowledgeable and spent time grabbing several pipes for me to ponder over. Stuck around to smoke the new purchase in the comfortable lounge. Great experience, get to this place! Two or three years ago I wandered into Pipe World knowing nothing about pipes or tobacco. The gentleman there was so very patient and helpful, fully engaging in the experience and helping me to select a tobacco to try (Creme Brulee which remains my favorite to this day) and helping me to select my first pipe.It was such a pleasant surprise to encounter this lost level of engagement and customer attention.I recommend that you give the place a try and try out their smoking lounge. Its a pretty special place.

An excellent selection of tobaccos and pipes from around the world including an extensive collection of Meerschaums! Very nice. Prices are decent for a brick and mortar. They have a comfortable smoking lounge as well: spartan and clean with nice, comfy lounge chairs.

Great selection of fine cigars, and they were also very kind and helpful when helping me get started with pipe smoking (which they have a plethora of different corncob, briar, and meerschaum pipes, as well as many brand AND great house blends for). Helpful and very friendly staff, and they have a nice little lounge area, although I havent ever had enough time during a visit to relax in one of those comfy-looking couches. Overall a great place for the cigar or pipe smoker.

Friendly staff, well kept store and nice to go to.They had a nice selection of pipes, and ten or more jars of House tobacco. There were more aromatics than anything else, which I would have enjoyed a greater selection of flakes or more robust blends, but it is their store, and they stock what sells, it seems.

You cant go wrong when shopping here for quality pipe tobacco. I have yet to sample the vast cigar selection but am sure it is up to par as their tobacco is! Great customer service!

I went here to find a nice pipe for some tobacco, but the staff seemed very unfriendly. I thought maybe I had walked in right before they were closing, but I checked when I left and the store was still open for another hour.The staff seemed more interested in talking with each other than helping me answer any questions. Pretty rude if you ask me.Poor selection, too.
