I have been going to this company since I was 17. And when I didnt have the chance to go to them I have always been disappointed. Now Im even more disappointed that I dont know their current location because I live so close this location and my glasses broke. 😔

The staff is great and the prices is right. Ive never had an issue until my recent visit. The doctor was not available to sign my prescription. The agreement was he would sign it when he came in and they would email me a copy. I have yet to receive it. My appointment was way back in April. I called Tuesday and was told she would email it before she left the office, and I never received anything. I never got it, but things happen, people get busy, thats fine I get it. I called again on Wednesday and she remembered, apologized and said she would be sure to send it before the end of day Wednesday and I still havent gotten it.

Great selection of frames, excellent pricing, and great experience over all. Had my vision tested and the process was quick. From then on Brian made sure my lens order came out fantastic. My glasses are light and do not weigh on my face at all, best pair I have ever had. Can’t go wrong choosing this place!

Great place I need new contacts are they still open ?

I hate to write a bad review because I never do, but I went here for my glasses & contacts lens exam in March. They told me they had to have the doctor approve the prescription and then theyd get it to me. Thats fine. I waited a couple weeks. Then I thought, oh maybe they mail it to you, so I waited a month longer.Now its been almost 3 months and I still cant get my prescription. Whenever I call, either no one answers or I leave a voicemail that isnt returned. I called yesterday and finally got a person, who said shed email it today. I havent gotten it yet so I called just to check in. She put me on hold and Ive now been on hold for 20 minutes...I think they lost it and theyre just hoping Ill go away haha.Definitely feeling like I was scammed out of $70. Im bummed because everyone seemed to really like this place. I wish theyd just give me a straight answer because this seems really shady.

I had a very enjoyable experience at Northstar Optical! Great customer service, nice selection of frames, and great deals! I felt right at home with the friendly staff and comfortable office. The process from the eye exam to obtaining my glasses was very quick so I was in and out within an hour! Very spot on in terms of knowing what was best for my eyesight (which isnt so great)! Would definitely recommend checking these guys out!

They are really nice and helpful. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and their service continues to be great! Ive changed my mind last minute about my frames and they still had a good attitude about it and helped me. It is very affordable specially for those of us that have no insurance. I have made this optical my home optical.

Got my eyes checked in July to get new contacts. Placed an order that day for a 6 month supply and asked for a copy of my prescription. I was told it would be e-mailed to me. Never got a call that they were ready to be picked or an email after 3 weeks. So, I went back in to check on them in person. The order was never placed and again was told I would get an email with my prescription and a call when my contacts were ready to be picked up. Now, 2 months later, I have none of my old contacts and my prescription was never e-mailed. There is now a note on the front door informng customers it is closed till further notice. I paid for exam 5 months ago and now cant get any glasses or contacts unless I pay for another exam somewhere else. This place is super unorganized and unprofessional and obviously doesnt care if customers can see or not.....or this place just scams people.

The employees at this office are great and I felt like I was with family. I have been coming to Northstar Optical for years off and on. The owner, Jason has helped me out with a difficult prescription where one else could. I have anxiety when it comes to my eyes, but Jason has been great! I highly recommend Northstar Optical to family and friends. If you dont know them yet, you should. If not for any other reason, the prices are AMAZING!! !

North Star Optical is a great place to go! Ive been taking my daughter there for 8 years and the service is unmatched and the service is great. They have an in house lab so no waiting for weeks for your glasses. From exam to finished product theyll have you out in 45 minutes or less. Its really amazing! And the prices are very good. As a single mom I always appreciated their affordability.

While I appreciate the nod to veterans, and their low prices...if you have a complex contact lens prescription (astigmatism), this is not the right place...unless youre simply updating. Finding myself in a money crunch and without vision insurance I chose the lowest cost provider. My appointment was 2 months ago and I have yet to receive my actual trial lenses, much less a prescription I can order contacts with. Instead, I was given weekly lenses that I could extend as long as I took care of them. After two weeks, I got an additional pair of lenses that were preferable to the guy behind the counter. Six weeks after my exam, I am trying hard to keep these lenses working while I await a call from the office. My eyes are red and irritated and all I can hope for is to wear my glasses. As soon as I can afford it, I am going back to my original eye doctor at $200+ a pop to get a new prescription. I wanted these guys to be good so much, but they arent. Highly disappointed.

Waited two weeks for my glasses. They were not ready. Two more weeks, no glasses. One more week. No glasses. I got my money back and took their prescription somewhere else. I could not see well with the new glasses. The prescription from Northstar was so far off I had to get a new eye exam. Horrible experience.

I have worn glasses since 1963, contacts since 1969, having used countless Eye Care Centers, and can honestly say, Northstar Optical was one of the best. They were very friendly, they double and triple checked that my prescription, from a different doctor, was as written, and spent extra time with me on frame selection, placement and fit. Then they made sure I understood what I had to do if I needed repairs or a replacement. I never felt hurried or that I was receiving cut-rate service even though I had a great coupon for an awesome cut-rate price. (2 pair $99, and THEY REALLY WERE $99) It was only a week ago and already, I have referred 4 to 5 friends.

Im not happy with this place right now. He was a whole hr late when i went in and now theyre tellin me they didnt have my contacts ready. Called multiple times to reach someone and still havent heard anything back.

I would give it 0 but this place is pathetic!!!! Scheduled a 1 pm eye exam and gave them my phone number. Get there @ noon as thats when I was told they open.Office is closed. Theres 4 or 5 other people waiting. My appt time comes and goes and they never opened. Called the office number to get a message unable to leave a message. They cant even have the decency to call me and cancel???

Ive experienced two visits here; one for my husband and recently for myself. I felt the eye exam was very thorough. He really took the time to make sure I was seeing clearly.The glasses selection and pricing is about average- expect to pay anywhere from $300 to $600 for glasses if you need no-line bifocals. Be prepared to wait for at least 10-15 days if you do need these, as they are shipped to the store, then cut there. When I call to get an update, I get the guy who cuts them will be in later and well call you tomorrow. I usually have to call and follow up, which is fine. I understand they are busy, and cant remember everything:-) They do offer warranties on their glasses. The counter staff is very friendly.

Very Austin. No pressure to upsale anything. Exam was very careful and used a lot of technique to get to best prescription possible. Prices very reasonable as I got exam, glasses with the thin lenses and six pack of toric contacts for $400 total. Highly recommend.

Recently purchased a nice pair of Persol sunglasses from Sunglass Hut. Unfortunately, they let me walk out of the store without fitting the glasses. Given that the shades were a little pricey, I didnt want to risk having Sunglass Hut adjust them anyways. Found North Star and saw the tremendous amount of positive reviews. Went in and explained the situation and offered to pay to have them adjust my frames. Brian adjusted them and wasnt charged a dime. Great experience despite the fact that I didnt use any of their traditional services.
