This store is a great place to find deals on a lot of different things. Like floor tile, kitchen cabinets, furniture, doors and windows, and various other building materials. That being said, you do have to be careful when shopping here. There are plenty of things that are not great deals and you need to be patient and pay attention. But if youre mindful, it can be a fantastic way to save some money on your home improvement projects.
2 great employees stood out. Super helpful with our heavy 10 foot glass door.
Donations: Saw the truck in front of me dump off - six 5-gallon USED and STILL DIRTY buckets!!?? Who is going to purchase those? Then I drive through with three - new white primed specialty Cheyenne interior doors Cost $50-$80 each, but when they pulled them out and noticed a fraction of an inch - literally 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch of minimal surface damaged, they refused the doors. Any contractor could have simply trimmed it with a blade, and add 2 coats of paint to cover the frayed edge completely- that is on the top of the door that NOBODY WILL SEE when it is installed, unless of course they sleep on the ceiling!. So I could not donate them. R I D I C U L O U S. See photo.
I saw 2 TVs for sale in the display section and was going to purchase one that I liked. The sales person for that section assured me the one I wanted was not as good as the other and because the internet is slow in building I could not see the actual picture quality of it. She said I had 7 days to bring it back if I did not like it. I get it home and put to my home internet of 1 gig speed and picture quality is still horrible and slow. I called to speak with manager who informed me that there are no returns on item but I can bring it back and exchange for the one I originally wanted. I drove an hour back to the store the following morning to find the tv was sold and I could not get my money back with my receipt. I definitely would not recommend buying any electronics from here. After spending over $400 on TV and stand you would think there is better customer service.
Me and my husband owned a couple rental properties and this store has been an absolute godsend. It has everything you could be looking for... Plumbing, furniture, painting, lawn care items and all household accessories you could possibly be looking for.The prices can be a little bit high but the selection is vast and Im sure you can find a good deal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location, parking, pick up, and drop off are also organized very well.Definitely worth checking out!
Austins Habitat for Humanity location is easy to find and has some interesting finds. You can also make donations at this location. They accept just about everything- check out their web site for more information about donations. The store is fairly large and organized fairly well. They have some new stuff mixed in there as well. The staff can be helpful and pleasant but they can also be a little easy to annoy. The store has lots to offer nonetheless. Lighting fixtures and bulbs to furniture - they have quite a selection of items. Different, odd, unique, character and value are just a few words explaining all the cool finds you might run across. Odd pieces of wood or other construction material is also available. Check it out, use some imagination and be open-minded about the possibilities.
I found some great quality affordable office furniture when I was first starting out in my business and they had a way bigger selection than their branch stores further south in the hill country. The people working here were so nice and helped me move and load my purchases to my car, too! I’ll definitely be coming back here in the future to check out their furniture/home goods before paying full price somewhere else.
You can find some good deals here on windows and doors. Its negotiable to an extent. To negotiate be sure to pull up the exact product link at home depot or lowes as sometimes they dont know that they priced an item at same prices as brand new or even more. For example I bought some sliding glass doors that retail for 297 at HD. So I offered 150 for them here and they accepted.I much rather give them my $$ to help their cause.
Fantastic best experience ever Lele helped us she was wonderful we will allways ask for herWe are remodeling our house and she is extremely knowledgeable on whats in the store
Summary: very nice employees, some super deals, other not so great deals, constantly changing and interesting inventory. The Details:This place is fun! If you are a DIYr or crafty in anyway, this place is a blank slate for materials to get your creative juices flowing. There are deals to be had but not everything is a treasure. There is also a lot of stuff that is near retail prices. Look for marked down items among the inventory mess.I got 6 boxes of flooring for $10 a box which was an amazing price for the product.Beware of the parking situation on the weekends, it can be a challenge after lunch hours.
Awesome store! Theres always something new to discover. Have found many bargins here and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The donation team and the front desk are pretty disconnected. I called ahead to see what they would take and upon arrival the donation team said they couldnt take some stuff, despite its fair condition.
Ive been here several times and have been lucky enough to find items that worked for my needs at a decent price.
Great store, friendly people and stuff can be found you wont find anywhere else.
First time going there. It was pretty cool. If I had to describe it I would say its like a Super Goodwill with tons of furniture and fixtures and more
I was so super disappointed today with the service I got today. I have volunteered my time and money to Habitat for Humanity for over 20 years. Today my husband and I went in to purchase flooring for the house that we rent. We went because its going to a good cause and it helps us save money. We selected flooring that had a box on top of it that was marked $29.99 - there were no red stickers on any of the boxes underneath (Desert Land Flooring) All of the colors of the flooring looked the same to us, so we thought all of the flooring on that pallet were that color - again not one box had prices on them. We got 6 boxes of them - we went to pay and our total with 2 other items came to $278. My husband and I were like thats not right. The cashier refused to look for the pricing on the boxes - which there were none. She turned around to the other cashier and he showed her the model number - she pulled it up and it said $39.99. We told her about the sign. She turned around and told the other cashier and he says THATS THE PRICE THEN. Neither one offers to go look for the pricing - so my husband went and took a picture of the sign. She puts it in the system and says oh this isnt the same model # - which it was because I looked at them before we put them in the cart. Now because my husband doesnt like confrontation, he said okay and just paid the amount. I will say this - the gentleman who basically screamed thats the price, was on the floor wheeling and dealing with others on flooring products reducing their costs - we didnt ask him about doing that for us - we had no problem paying full price @ $29.99 a box - which is what was on the top box. This isnt the first time that we had an issue but we thought we would give them another chance. Never again will we go back.
I contacted Restore on Friday for a furniture donation and Monday morning I received an email letting me know they had availability the next day! This morning, I got a call with the ETA. They got here promptly and hauled out my donation. They were friendly and easy to work with! This process was so seamless it took such a relief off, thank you!!
We always have a great experience at the Restore. Stan helped us find the perfect area rug. You never know what youll find.
I work there and its the best job I have ever had.
This place is like a treasure hunt! Remodeling on a shoestring budget? ✔ Small update project? ✔ Miscellany, like door numbers, thresholds, replacement socket covers, switch plates, bulbs, etc. Doors, windows, even the kitchen sink! The key is, go once and browse, then return periodically for useful items until you have it all. If you are a fan of thrift stores, this is the home version times 100. Drywall, plywood, beams, decking? Ive seen it all. Not to mention furniture, custom dog houses or chicken coops. Happy shopping!
I absolutely love this store.
I really enjoy coming here to see whats on the shelves. However, their pricing is almost retail. I used to get some of my lighting fixtures here, but heck, Home Depot seems as a better choice lately. Someone really needs to remind these folks that all their inventory is DONATED. Good grief. The last four times Ive visited its been disappointing. Really, dont waste your precious time here
The staff is great 👍 and friendly love it
Awesome place for household repair stuff. They even have a small thrift store inside.
Awesome store. Used insulation $10 bag, new $35. Furniture from $20 to $300. Used granite sinks, new Christmas ornaments, lumber you name it! Cant beat the prices or selection. And friendly helpful staff and volunteers!
Good place to buy doors windows and all thing used for your home
EXCELLENT prices and products, bigger and better than the one we have where I live. This is our second visit, and it wont be our last.
Bought a washer from here, lasted 2 months and the motor went out! Time and money wasted.
Great place to find inexpensive remodeling supplies for your home.
Still a great place with great cause. Keep up the good work! However, Prices have gone retail and selection is reduced. No bargaining for items any longer, unfortunately, retail supplies and art work never mesh well. Will keep looking for those bargains tho
Great place for remodeling on a budget! They also have barely used clothing, shoes, luggage, and other great finds. Plumbing, painting, including spray paint, kitchen sinks, cabinets, tile and hardwood flooring, doors, rugs, kitchen furniture sets, couches, beds, bedding, holiday decorations and many many great finds. Most of their inventory is donated, so some items are still in the original box! I think some items are a little over priced, but then some are underpriced. It kind of evens out. I shop here weekly.
Huge all kinds of cool building materials and furniture.
This place has everything you need for projects. It’s amazing
I was in need of a simple chair, and I came out with that and some tools and some lighting and also got some ideas on flooring. this place has everything you think ofand more, from tools to hardware doors windows lighting mattresses and the list goes on and on,highly recommended
The best deals on any sort of home improvement hardware as well as decor, LPs, clothes, accessories, etc. Ive found so many bargains here everytime I visit.
In hard ware the sign saysAny thing not priced is bulk$ 1.00 a pound the lady thatRan store on 4th eather broughtThe sign or made them be foreCarlos was mgrThey should not hire peopleIf they dont have ability to comprehendWaste of my time feel ripped off
Great an employee helped me with a purchase and the prices are unbelievable
Things are not cleaned up. They are left in their original condition as received.
This rehab store is one of the best of ever been to. It has pretty much everything. Everything is not always a bargain here. Some things are overprized and can be bought brand new for the same price. But there are always things to find and explore. Its very orderly Everything is not always a bargain here. Some things are overprized and can be bought brand new for the same price. But there are always things to find and explore. Its very orderly And clean. I have to say its fun going here
I live only a few miles from the San Marcos Restore & have a couple of fabulous chairs (one never even been sat in) - and they refused to pick them up. Said it did not meet their requirements. They probably wanted more furniture for the donation to warrant the 3-4 mile trip. Very unfortunate since were in a new community of 55+ with over 300 new homes and 3000 anticipated in the coming 2-3 years. Lots of new business possible! Due to physical limitations, we cannot load them in a truck & drop them off as they suggested. Just because of mine & my husbands limitations, we should not be prohibited from the pick up service. Im sure they could piggyback it with another larger community donation. Oh well - will call Salvation Army (& I will also include additional furniture most likely).
Great resource for used hardware, building supplies, furniture, and househd goods.
Very organized with a huge selection of items. I really appreciate the fact that the employees were extremely helpful. They were also friendly and knowledgeable of the organizations values, objectives, and mission.
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Shout out to Derrick who went above and beyond. Wonderful merchandise and shopping experience at great prices. Most important of all is The Habitat for Humanity mission. Shop this store- it’s a win for everyone.
I mean whats not to l♥️ve about this place? They carry ABSOLUTELY everything!! Stuff from housewares, home repair and remodeling materials, paints, rugs, outdoor garden and patio items, and even clothing &shoes, pictures, and huge wall mirrors!! The prices in my opinion are great, Goodwill is overpriced to me now because of Restore, PLUS you can even bargain on the prices of most items, if you give a reasonable offer, most of the time they will accommodate. Inventory is always changing and have new items each time I go!! 2 👍
Great place with lots of products at good prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The pricing on everything was real good but didnt have a lot of stuff like materials wood
I bought a $600 range hood from them in an open boxWhen I went to install it I discovered that it was missing $500 in parts.Be careful
This place is everything you thought it could be. Plus so much more. Highly recommend.
The pricing is so high. Almost as much as new items.
Fantastic deals. A volunteer named Chris, helped me out tremendously!
Awesome place with great deals
Huge warehouse with tons of options and friendly staff
I have been a customer at the Austin Location for many years, even when they use to be at their old location on the east sid. This is a great place. I have bought carpeting, flooring, garden supplies, paint, bathroom fixtures, books, dvds odds and ends, lighting and so much more from them. What a great place to go and not everything is used, you often come across a lot of stuff that has been donated and is new condition. I highly recommend you go check it out. Often when youre doing a Do-it-yourself project you can find the same item here for a lot less then at the name brand stores.
Ive always loved shopping at the ReStores. Some of the prices here are actually higher than retail; however the prices on used appliances is incredible.
I live in Temple. I called this store because the Waco store is closed until June 1st. I asked if they were accepting carpet (brand new because we opted for tile in one room and carpet never used 13x18). They said yes that was something they needed. I had to get a relative to load carpet and drive me 88 miles to make donation. Drove into donation area and was told they didn’t have room. 3 hours from call to arrival and out of room? Communication is a basic skill lost on the folks who work at Habitat Restore on Ben White. Will not be going back there to donate or buy.
Love the unusual things you can find
When they were located on 5th I would spend a few hundred a month with them because the items were generally a decent bargain and the money did go to help an awesome program. Used them for my own remodel and customer work. Now they want 95% of retail for used or damaged items. I mean flooring is nearly as cheap to buy INSTALLED as they want for the stuff there. Example, went there last week for a simple kitchen sink faucet. They had some in the $45 range, new in box, for cheap plastic sets. I can get the same one made in the same factory with a different box at the big box store for $30 or less. Sure there are some deals there to be had, but now they have nearly priced themselves out of the market. I dont understand why anyone would shop there now if genuinely trying to find decent used materials, it is just as cost effective to just go new and have a warranty. If you want to feel better about yourself then just donate a $100/year out of the huge savings gained from buying elsewhere. This chapter of Habitat for Humanity reminds me of the local Goodwill cartel.......
Always coming out with something i dnt need but always a great place to shop at. Thanks again
Prices are average. Wouldn’t consider any of it a ‘bargain’ especially for the condition a lot of their stuff is in but reminded myself that their profits go to supporting Habitat for Humanity which is great! They have a good selection of doors and random home improvement supplies such as door plates, light bulbs, nails, leftover supplies, etc. I recommend watching your feet when you park. During our last visit there was a used needle in the parking lot. Not super safe. Overall definitely worth stopping by.
We got there 15 minutes before closing. We got to bless an employee. Always love visiting.
Good deals on alot of items
Best for deals on remodeling items such as cabinets, dishwashers, flooring and more.
Great place to get good quality used materials ... Good prices
Went today to look for some items, found them but was kindly reminded to return on Tuesday or Wednesday to get a 20% discount as a senior and or veteran. Very thoughtful.
Its always worth a look before going to a big box store.
Way over priced. I spoke with a worker about the shower faucets because the one I needed was missing part and it was the only one. So i asked the worker if they could mark it down from $20. He went and talked with John and the worker came back and said nope if u want to talk with john go to the front. I asked worker to call john to the back and the worker said nope john is busy go to the frontt to talk with him. I went to the front and asked to speak with John and he said yes how can I help you then started to walk away from me and put his finger up and said wait. I had to prove to John that manager and he did not care. He told me he had to buy it just like that and my reply was u did not pay $20 he said no I got a discount. This place is not worth the time. When it was at the other location it was way better most of all the prices..
So much to buy!
I have a fondness for the Austin Habitat for Humanity Restore. It unprecedently, has an inventory unmatched anywhere else Ive been to of a Habitat for Humanity store.
Manager stated to give him 1 second and Im in the exact spot 20 minutes later awaiting to simply see the brand of a item I sought to bid on...... The store is completely empty aside from staff and a couple people ...Im not normally complaining but this shouldnt have happened ...Longest second ever ....I will add a lot of the staff seemed ok and nice .
Compared to the Round Rock Habitat for Humanity thrift store, this location has a much more extensive variety of items they offer. They have plenty of tile and area rugs to choose from. They have many basic tools used around the house for reasonable prices. The used appliances they offer vary in quality. The cabinetry offered also varies in style and quality and some cabinets may not even have all the parts, like missing a door. The section of the store that is used miscellaneous items, has some hidden treasures, but one has to be willing to dig for it as the area is hardly organized.I dont much like when I go to a business and I get bombarded with, How may I help you? and Are you finding everything ok?. I prefer to be left alone to do my shopping and if I cant find something, I go find an associate. Id much rather have associates easy to find, but not intruding on my experience. I got what I wanted from this store. There were plenty associates, they worked around me, and didnt approach me unnecessarily.I will for sure be returning to that store to pick some things up in the future.
Worth to go and take a look! The store has many useful items such as cups, coffee machines, furniture and so forth for a very pretty price. For example you can get a decent cup for $1.99 and it is not made from a cheap material. The stuff is friendly and helpful. Also it is a donation place! I love the reusable conception of the store.
I find cool items most times and all of these people that complained about prices learn to negotiate Carlos is fair Terrell is great even when being pulled in 20 different directios i swing by every time im around
This place is much larger than I expected! It has a bit of everything (household, furniture, building supplies, paint, cleaning supplies, lawn tools, etc). They sell new and donated items. I feel the price points on the donated items is a bit high on some items given the condition some of it was in. I understand its for a good cause, but I dont want to pay close to new price for used items. Good location and plenty of parking. Staff was very friendly and greeted me as I entered. I would visit again, you never know what kind of deal you might find.
A normal go to, but today the store was flooded with super preachy music. It was distracting and made me want to leave.
Love this place! Like how I can get name brand products which are mostly full at a fraction of the price and keeps the out of the land fill. Spray paint 100% full for less. As well as any other household item. Not just doors and nails here people check it out. In sure you wont be disappointed and you WILL be back.
Would have gotten 5 stars but one guy was kinda rude to me. I was told when i called that if i bought shingles in bulk 15 or more bundles i could get them at a discount when i asked the man in charge he came off rude and felt like i was being scolded. I was just repeating what i was told. I had no problem paying. Anyway.other than that the place is amazing!!! I didnt want to leave.
I love hunting for a few deals. Almost always find something I cant live without! Parking on Saturday mornings is rough, they do an auction for items and people start getting in line early to get a chance to bid on all knows of random stuff. The rest of the week is much better.
Service on the floor is excellent - always helpful and friendly. Cashiers can be impatient and irritated, possibly overworked and tired of dealing with people.
Staff look very happy to be there which produces happy customers!!Chao
Very friendly staff, tons of choices from hardware to picture frames and everything in between!
Disappointed in the prices of their rugs
The ONLY thing we didnt find for sale was a fridge! What an awesome place: plants, furniture, tools, rugs, art, cabinets, tubs, chicken runs, books, etc!
Great place to find deals on just about anything for the home! Not only are there good buys, but you are helping to support Habitat for Humanity. The employees are super helpful, and although a young man unburied two cabinets and helped load them in our car, he refused to take a tip we offered. You never know what you might find there!
If you want to be treated like a criminal the feel free to shop here. I purchased something a supervisor told me to pay for it at the cashier and then bring the receipt to the side door. They put the wrong item in my truck, when, I realized it was the wrong size I brought it back for exchange with my receipt of purchase that day. They would not admit they made a mistake, would not give me what I paid for and would not return the wrong item that they put in my vehicle. What they did do is treat me like I was a criminal saying come back after they had reviewed some surveillance video another day. Never going back never recommending this place again.
Great place to get everything for your home or apartment from bolts to office furniture, even clothing. Looking to replace a door? Buy new mattress or sheets? Flooring, carpet, paint & supplies, garden equip & lighting. The habitat is clean & organized. Folks ready to help you & answer your questions are always available. Located on so.1st & access rd. of 79 ( old chuckee cheese building).
Had exactly what I needed great price
Great finds if you know what you are looking for/looking at
A great place to shop for bargains in building materials, hardware and furniture.
I bought a washer & dryer from them. A gentleman named Link helped me and he was amazing to deal with. I had it delivered by Angel, who was an awesome person with a great personality. I had a fantastic experience all around.
Great store, a lot of new stuff at a good price
This store has everything from clothes to kitchen cabinets. You should check them out on any house project you have coming up.
They had a lot more stuff than I thought
L ove this place always find some hidden treasures
Before heading to Lowes or Home Depot come here (take your measurements with you). You can find doors, couches, Christmas decor, lamps, cabinets, tile, floor planks and a bunch of other stuff for you home remodel. I found roman shades for $15 for 4 windows vs paying $100+. I also got two doors for $20. Plenty of parking and easily accessible.
I really like what this store is all about. They have some great items and you are recycling items so its a win win. Weekends are typically the best time to shop and work on home improvement... I cant believe they are closed on weekends!
