Outstanding.. that’s the word that I keep thinking as I think about my experience.I have a 2006 Shadow that had sat for years which is one of the worst things you can do to a motorcycle. It’s a process to get running and anyone who claims otherwise is not telling the truth. It was a process.. I had a range to expect on pricing with brief discussion outline of what might be involved with Jesse. As an engineer, I absolutely understand and respect that. The TLDR is my bike had many issues, all resolved, and all done well and pricing fit. I’m super excited to get on road again on a solidly repaired nicely running bike and I’ve learned some about my bike in this whole process as well. All very good and I think i got lucky in choosing this place. Glad to recommend Cycle Refinery!
There is a whole lot of cool packed into this place! If your looking for parts for your bike or something unique to ride this is your place to check out. The owner has a ton of experience in working on things that go, from aircraft to classic European motorcycles. He believes in doing it right and keeping his customers safe and happy. Stop in and support this local shop, I think youll be glad you did.
Always nice to do business with very good people, love the service and professionalism!
I do not often write reviews, but my experience with Cycle Refinery has been amazing: I spoke to Jesse (Owner) about an online issue and he engaged immediately and, as sign of appreciation, even discounted and accelerated the parts order. In a world where we can order from all the big online retailers, this is a place where customer service still means something.
I am beyond impressed with the customer service at Cycle Refinery. I placed an order online and there was an issue with shipping. CS immediately called me and got everything worked out with zero hassle. My items were shipped within an hour of placing the initial order.I will definitely be shopping with Cycle Refinery more in the future. Very, very happy with the overall experience.
This place has always done a great job on my bike. They are very helpful and pleasant to talk to.
Wanted to thank Jesse for his incredible knowledge and skill tracking down issues on my 2007 Ninja. I had an excellent experience from start to finish and couldnt be happier with the level of service I received. 11/10 +++
I live in a different state than Texas but reading Cycle Refinery’s Google Reviews and reading “We ship nationwide so you can buy with confidence!” on their site put some doubts to rest. I reached out to Cycle Refinery via phone inquiring about a used bike they had in inventory. I was asked to email any questions along with a picture of my ID to get shipping quotes and such. Jesse, the owner, contacted me via phone that night and was pleasant to speak with. Ultimately, I requested photos of any damage, a video of the bike running as well as a shipping quote; which Jesse had said he’d get to me that evening. I hadn’t heard anything when expecting to so I sent a friendly reminder the next morning via text. Again, I heard nothing. Two days later, I followed up with another phone call. I was told Jesse was busy but the message would be passed along. Again, I heard nothing. The next day, I sent an email to follow up once again. Finally, I received a text with the photos and video requested. The text had mentioned they were busy; understandable. Almost immediately after receiving the text, I requested a purchase order; this time I sent a text as well as an email to cover my bases. And again, I heard nothing. A whole week goes by before I called them again and, once again, was told Jesse was occupied but the message would be passed along. At this point, I’ve been essentially ignored and not feel as I was not valued as a potential customer. The same day, I called just to get an update as I have not heard from Jesse since his initial contact nearly two week ago. It was then that I was told that they had JUST received a deposit from a local buyer and the customer looked promising. I cannot explain the disappointment I felt at this point. I had sent 2 emails, 2 text messages and called 4 times in the span of 11 days just to find out the bike had received a deposit ten days after I initially inquired about it. The whole experience has been extremely discouraging and to me, is extremely unprofessional.Update: I’ve chosen to update my review from 1 star to 2 stars. Almost immediately after posting my initial review, Jesse called me directly and said “now you’ve got me attention after bashing my business!” We had a rather aggressive verbal exchange where ultimately, nothing was learned nor gained. I hope Cycle Refinery the best. They sound like they do great work; unfortunately, I wasn’t given the opportunity to see it, hence the update to 2 stars.
This place is amazing! I went to just go look at a grom and Jesse was happy to help. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything and was just giving me knowledge about the bike. I ended up buying it, and he made the process very easy! Very honest and straight forward in every aspect! This is the only shop I’ll go to in Austin.
Jesse and everyone else working here are top-notch. When Jesse figures out whats wrong with your bike, he will spare no detail explaining it and exactly what he did to correct it. The lady working the front desk is incredibly knowledgeable in the products they sell and I will be going nowhere else for gear down the line. They got my Ninja going flawlessly and theres no higher praise. 5 stars.
I really lucked out that this is the closest bike shop and mechanic close to my house. Theyre always super generous with their bike knowledge and do great work. I cant recommend this place enough.
Good peeps, pricing and customer service! My brother recently bought a DR650 and had a great experience. We called a head of time, the owner held with no deposit, had the bike polished and paperwork ready to go. We were in and out in less than 45 mins and thats with us loading up the bike and rolling out. The owner even through in a free shirt and 25% off next order! Very passionate and professional! Support your local shops! Highly recommend. Thanks guys!
I went into the shop this evening to get a helmet and a set of gloves for my upcoming riding course. I love cars, but Im brand new to motorcycles and was a little intimidated by going in knowing pretty much nothing. Chrystal was working this evening, and walked me through everything I needed to know about what I was looking for, helped me with sizing, and gave me some tips for starting out. She also gave me some really, really helpful information on a couple of the bikes Im considering, and even gave me a pretty generous discount on my purchase for being a new rider. I left feeling confident about my choices and I know that whenever I need new items or work done, Ill be heading back to Cycle Refinery and I hope Chrystal is working then too!
This place is the New Groovy Austin. I took my GPZ to Zabors Motorcycle back in the day for no-nonsense star quality wrenching/knowledge..but Cycle Refinery takes this concept to a whole new level!Lucy the little dog might softly greet you at the door and Crystal the Human will interact with you on all things wheeled or legged. Make appt. Show up. Work Done. NO drama. Great vibes and south Austin cool. Amazing! Check the Monkey bikes for sale....Mecum quality!
First time there, just for a look-see and a hat, showed me around, great experience, nice folks, can tell they are very passionate about their work. So much wonderful JDM and classic and collector stuff.Thank you!
I needed some help with a project, so I reached out to a few shops in town. The owner at Cycle Refinery got back to me within the hour and offered the exact solution I needed. The team at cycle refinery went above and beyond to help me out without expecting anything in return. Good people. Highly recommended.
I searched for a long time for a shop that can get me parts at a good price. I was able to get pads for my Indian Dark Horse at the rates of some discount websites. Jesse ordered it for me and had it ready for pickup the next day. I paid 37 dollars for each set. It is 69 dollars at the Indian dealer. So I know I got a good deal. Thanks Cycle Refinery. Ill be back
Great group of friendly motorcycle nuts with great advice and lots of great bikes, parts and accessories.
Very knowledgeable people and had what I needed in stock
I picked these guys simply because they were right around the corner from my house. I got a 2013 triumph that I was having some trouble with, so I slid over and gave them a talk. They told me that they had experience in these motorcycles and could help me out pretty quick! So after I finally got the bike over to him I had missed my pre-scheduled appointment. No worries, they still took the bike off the truck and slid it into the garage. I wasnt expecting much, since I was the one who missed my appointment. but the next day about 5 in the evening I got a phone call telling me that my motorcycle was finished! and Jesse said that he figured hed give me a call in case I wanted to go for a ride on Sunday, which was a great idea! I have to tell you, I figured my bill was going to be at least a hundred hundred and $50 more than it was, the bike ran better than it ever has, and he gave me some good tips since this is my first triumph ( okay, I did run a 68 Bonnie back in the day) Ive been a Harley guy for about 40 years, and I got a big toolbox, but Im also smart enough to know when Im out of my league and over my head, and take the work to someone who is familiar with it!. Their staff was wonderful, the facility is clean and offers a wide variety of nice accessories and has a good inventory of used motorcycles on the floor. I cant say enough good about these folks, wish I wasnt moving to southern Utah! Oh yeah 😏
Friendly and knowledgeable
Cool place. Great customer service. Very knowledgeable
Jesses great, gives you the best customer service, bought my bike (great bike btw), a helmet and when I accidentally overpaid he was patient and understanding but made sure I got my money back. Looking forward to years of business thisll be my go to shop for anything.
I worked with Jessie on some mods for my bike. He is incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and takes the time to walk you through why he makes certain recommendations. This was comforting as I am a novice when it comes to bike mechanics. The first shop I went to was awful, and Cycle Refinery completely restored my faith in honest working shops! It did take a bit of time to get everything completed, but I certainly didnt mind the extra time to ensure everything was done correctly. Updates were frequent and after all is finished, my bike looks great and would highly recommend this shop! I will definitely return for future work and mods. Also, extra kudos to the cutest shop dog.
Awesome motorcycle service/and parts place on south congress.Took my ZX 9 for repairs, they did an outstanding job, and they fit me in their bust schedule. The store front is very clean and professional, the mechanic staff are very knowledgeable. They got my motorcycle running like a clock!Their prices are fair and their invoice is very detailed so you know what was done to your ride.Highly recommend the shop!
Small but excellent selection of mc gear...nice saleslady, too.
Im currently restoring my 1981 Honda Passport and I was having trouble locating any vinyl for re-covering the seat, so I reached out to these guys through their customer service e-mail on their website and the next morning someone had e-mailed me a link to an eBay seller and suggested I buy it as they couldnt beat that price. Some stranger went out of their way to send me a link that was for a better deal than they offered and straight up told me that. You guys blew me away with that kind of small-town kindness and from here on out when I need more parts as this restoration continues I will be making the drive up to Austin and buying from these guys.Highly recommend and will be reminding my friends to shop with yall.
Took my Honda 2013 CB500F in to get 2 new tires + oil change. Fast friendly service at a low price. Cycle Refinery will now be my go to spot for any motorcycle maintenance I need. Jesse is a trustworthy business owner who treats his customers like family. Checkem out!
I cannot sing enough praise for Jesse and crew. I presented them with my (bought sight unseen) CBR600RR, riddled with extensive electrical issues. They diagnosed and sorted out all issues with the bike, including remedying an issue that I caused, while allowing me to retain my dignity. I feel that they didnt charge enough, but Im not one to argue over money. Also, extremely fair price on a set of tyres.I highly, and confidently recommend Cycle Refinery for your 2 wheel needs.
Extremely friendly, genuine, and helpful staff. This is the place to go for your bike needs!
Took my 1980 CB 750 there to have some general work and also some custom fab. Jesse is meticulous and well worth the hourly rate. He makes time to explain stuff to you and goes above and beyond with his repairs. His shop condition is a prime example of his work ethic. I totally recommend you swing by.
This is the best shop ever! They are always busy so i definitely recommend calling ahead of time. Theyre a reason why theyre busy, they are the best! The work is great, prices arent high, and the staff is supper friendly. I will not be using any other mechanics. This is the shop for me! I definitely recommend them.
Excellent shop. Very professional and friendly service. I bought a bike there, a helmet, and a few accessories. Always find myself going back here over other shops. They do a top notch job and stand behind their work.
Made my first visit and purchase at Cycle Refinery today. I was greeted by friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff members. No high pressure sales! I definitely recommend the Cycle Refinery!
Knowledgeable staff, and good inventory.
Badass people! Extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. Usually get parts in one day if they dont have it in stock. This is what a motorcycle shop is supposed to be.
Cycle Refinery is the place I go with all my two wheel questions and needs. I trust them. They do efficient, reliable work, and are priced very fairly. On top of all that, they are cool and knowledgable people that are a pleasure to work with and get to know.
Took my BMW there a few months ago. Head mechanic and owner seems nice at first but thinks he’s a know it all. Not super knowledgeable on German Stuff! Clean shop and organized, just wish he was more humble.Bike did turn out ok but after I had another shop work on it
This place is great! Really friendly and knowledgeable. Im coming here for all the work I needed some from now on.
When people say support local buisness it is places like cycle refinery that are why you should support local buisness.I had a flat and Jesse reached out to help me out with great prices on a new tire.He found me cheaper alternatives to a few upgrades I plan getting in the nearby future. His attitude and knowledge are reasons hes gained a new customer.
Being a fairly accomplished mechanic myself with the utmost perfectionist detail in mind. There is without question no other person that I am aware of other than Jesse Loesch on the planet that I would trust to touch my bikes... I have known Jesse for a very long time and I have seen his work throughout the years. His work is outstanding. Every little detail is thought of from, preparation to protect close quarter areas from any possible harm, mapping the entire execution of the project out on paper or mentally depending on the size of the task, having or making the proper tools for the project, Ingenious creativity that just works, to true scrutinty of his own work throughout the process in order to create perfection. Simply look at his bikes in the showroom of Cycle Refinery which are Jesses own creations. He is in an almost untouchable class of mechanically creative individuals that are less than a fraction of a percent the world over. Jesses attention to detail places him in that realm....
Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile. Awesome little shop with tons of parts/acc. at good prices. They have been my source of parts/knowledge for my 1980 suzuki project!
Jesse is a badass! Finally a shop that works on my custom bike. Quality work.
First time customer. Came in several days earlier and spoke with Jesse, spot on pro if I ever met one. Got the numbers. Set an appointment. Couple days later took the ZRX in, had the fork seals and throttle cables replaced, fork brace installed, ignition advancer, etc. Friends let me tell you something: I could not be more pleased with Cycle Refinery. Bike runs like a damn top. Didn’t bake him a cake or nothin but Jesse is my guy now.
This is the only shop I would take my bike to in town. Reliable, trustworthy, and also very thorough. Do yourself a favor and just go here first when an issue pops up.
For years I have done almost all maintenance and upgrades on my motorcycles. Recently, I met jesse and asked him to help me out with a couple things. His attention to detail and real dedication to making a bike run flawlessly blew me away. Everytime I get in a jam, I hit Jesse up and he makes it right. The man has truly found his calling. Thank you, Jesse!
If you own a motorcycle thinking about buying a motorcycle you need to come to see Jesse and Lucy its cycle refinery when get any better he knows his bikes

Great place to have your motorcycle repaired or just maintained !
Ive had Jesse and his crew order parts and work on 2 of my motorcycles in the past year and have had nothing short of exemplary service each and every time. From giving me advice on what tires to use for my dual sport to dialing in the carbs on my restored vintage GSXR1100, it has all been a fantastic experience.A quick list of things they have done for me:2009 Suzuki DR-Z400sOrder, mount and balance tires (they corrected improper speedo gear installation from previous owner)Install new DS handlebars, throttle tube and grips1986 Suzuki GSX-R1100Clean, tune and sync carbs (it dynos at 131whp/80tq and pulls ro redline without any dips)Rebuild and install Works Performance shockInstall custom rear shock linkageRebuild from brake calipersRebuild clutch master cylinderTheir prices are very reasonable and have even come in under their initial estimate a couple of times. Whats not to love?
Great people and selection of products.

Nice place! Friendly people, very helpful.
