Placed a deposit of $250 for service. Matt cancelled on me and told me he would return my deposit. He subsequently blocked my number and stopped responding to me. Avoid.
We moved from South Austin to Leander. Matt met with us at our old home and gave us a thorough and accurate price for our move. The movers showed up on time on the day of the move. The 3 man crew was overly sufficient to take care of everything by the middle of the afternoon. We only had to make one trip. I would definitely use Keep Austin Moving again and have already told one of my friends to give them a call.
I know your off today but, you have lost a loyal customer. I am extremely and highly dissapointed in the service that I received today. Ive have used Keep Austin Moving for all three of my moves and I have to say the chances of me using Keep Austin Moving in my next move is extremely slim. Especially when it comes to how my concerns were addressed by Austin. These movers were very very slow. In addition, they damaged my sons new desk/ table that he just bought less than a month ago. They also damaged my mattress, it looks as if it has been drug through the dirt. They sat and talked often and the lift broke multiple times, which also plays a huge role in how long it took to complete my move. Moreover, they came up missing on the way to the new house for 30 minutes. Thus, Austin was not helpful in assisting my concerns. Yes, he removed the cost for 30 minutes but he remained unconcern for the damages to our furniture.I am bringing this to your attention in hopes my concerns would be addressed. Please contact me for pictures, questions, or what the next steps would be in addressing my concerns. Your quick response would be greatly appreciated.Matt had sent me a claim form to fill out. After I filled it out he emailed me and told me that I owe them for my move in 2015 which wasnt true because, I still have my copy of the checks. Then this moved I paid them $300.00 cash because, when the movers came they asked me how Im I paying. I told them cash. Matt sent me a email stating that I owe them $110.00 and theyre not going to handle my claim until I paid the them. I sent Matt an email back telling him Ive already paid them. Havent heard anything from them since then. Very Disappointed Loyal Customer.
Great experience using this moving company. Rob & Codie ensured our belongings were well wrapped and secured. They both were very courteous and professional.
Great job! Had our 2 bedroom apartment moved to the new apartment in an easy 2 hours (and we had a bunch of stuff). Highly recommend :)
These people actually stole from me. When they couldnt fit all of my belongings on their truck they just didnt bother to bring them at all. Whats worse is that a lot of the stuff they took belonged to my children. I contacted them and all they said was we brought everything in the truck to Lubbock. They just didnt bother putting all of my stuff in their truck. Please be aware of these thieves.
Keep on moving to the next company when looking for movers. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking Keep Austin Moving. We had scheduled 2 months in advance, and on the moving day, they were supposed to show up between 10-12. They called at 10:25 saying they would leave their previous job in an hour. Then I didnt hear from them until after I called every number I could at 12:15 asking where they were. The driver told me they had call outs and multiple jobs and we rescheduled for 3:30. Again, I didnt hear from them so I had to initiate the call. Eventually they got to me at 6:30. Then what was quoted to be a 2 hour job, turned into a 3.5 hour job. This company has hidden fees and are unprofessional.
I recently moved from Odessa to Lampasas, TX., and I chose Keep Austin Moving as my moving company, primarily for their lower rates. I could not be happier with the service I received. The crew consisted of two very personable and professional guys who worked diligently and effortlessly on my behalf. They placed everything exactly where I wanted it, and not one item was harmed in any way. For me, this move proved to me that ratings are often misleading. The BBB showed an F rating for the company, but that was horribly wrong. I give this company an A+ rating!!! Thank you, Matt, for everything!!!!
Its very very bad moving company ever..not only did they break 2 of my furniture but Lee had the audacity to rip his shirt off and offer to fight us 2 girls because we pointed out they they broke our things. 2 weeks after we got moved in, he went into our home and took a dolly. He tresspassed and stole. I oblige anyone to never use these guys. Horrible customer service, unprofessional, and down right rude!!!!! Never use them!!
CUSTOMERS BEWARE:One of the WORST moving companies Ive ever dealt with. After my recent move I wasnt happy with the entire experience and the expertise of the two movers. Myself and friends did a lot of the work to keep them on schedule. I wasnt about to pay for additional hours we didnt agree upon. One of the guys was new (didnt take an expert to notice). He was sloppy and slow. A few items of mine were broken and mishandled. I do not expect to hear back from the owner Matt. Ive left him several messages. All I can do at this point is warn people of the terrible business practice this business has. Its quite a shame because Im all for supporting local business and I told Matt that I would use their flyers and refer new residents to them if the move lived up to his promise. It did not. I will post reviews on all sites I know to WARN people to steer clear from Keep Austin Moving. Sorry, Matt. Youve done this to yourself.P.S. If you manage to contact me and redeem yourself with a reasonable solution, I will gladly edit my reviews as I see fit.
AMAZING experience. I litterally just finished moving with Rob and Davonte (tay). Awesome guys, fun to work with, very careful with our stuff, worked quickly, and got everything moved in the estimated time.Scheduling with Matt was super easy, and Rob and tay were at the apartment right on time and got right to work.I had called a bunch of other movers for estimates, and every single one of them wanted to charge me an extra 150-350 to move my piano. Keep Austin Moving did it free of charge and the guys were very experienced and moved the piano like pros. Even not including the piano, of all the estimates I got, these guys were still the cheapest by hundreds. Not sure why so many people here have had issues with the company- but I HIGHLY recommend it. Just ask for Rob and Davonte.
Let me start off by saying... If I could give Keep Austin Moving a negative one I would. These people are the worst. And I wish I would have did my research before we agreed to go with them. Due to the recent reviews, people are telling the TRUTH!I just had my service 7/29/16 Ill try to make it short. 1, I couldnt get a groupon because the dates where blacked out. Which with it would of still came out to be the same maybe a few bucks less, According to Matt.We were scheduled for around lunch time between 12-1ish. 3:30pm comes around I get a call from Matt that the movers are behind on a job. And will be here soon. 5:30pm rolls around and I get another call from MATT saying they are still moving the same client and that he even had to add more guys to do the job.5 mins later... One of the movers call and say theres a flat so theyre working on that! Another hour rolls buy ( mind you we are all packed up and ready to be moved) technically if we had someone to do the job right it would have only taken them about a hour and a half to move us. It was mostly just boxes. 2 tvs, 2 dressers and a mattress set. And a tv stand.By this time my mom is PISSED! because its going on 8PM! And she has to work at 12 MIDNIGHT! So now! We get another call from MATT saying theyre not going to be able to make it in time before the storage close at 9pm so since we have no other choice but to continue with them, we ask if they can come at 6am in the morning. So as if hes doing us a favor... He says we can load the stuff tonight, and unload in the morning. So we agreed they didnt show until almost 10pm! Mind you when they got there, I had a secret timer going and it took them all of 47 minutes and 24 seconds to get everything loaded.( mind you the storage facility that we where using was 5 mins away from our apartment) you do the math. The next morning I get a call about 7 ish stating that they where unloading our stuff and loading it on another truck. So finally I get another call at 8:30 saying they will be on there way in 15-20 mins. Which they didnt get there till 9:30 or so. And by this Time we just wanted our stuff and for them to just be GONE! Which we gave specific instructions on how we wanted it loaded and unloaded. They didnt seem to care.We still had to pay $228! no discount for the inconvenience. Nothin! they act like they was doing us a favor.DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.NOT PROFESSIONALNOT RELIABLENOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY.A BIG MISTAKEBEWARE!!!F F F F -1 star.Ugh!
This is THE FIRST time that I have ever written a review, but this experience was just too much to take quietly! We booked our move 3 weeks in advance and did not utilize any type of coupon. We were quoted $99/hr for 3 movers. They got to the house at 6pm (3hrs late). Upon their arrival there were only 2 movers. We had to wait approx 45 minutes for Matt, the owner to show up with the 3rd person. We were then told that there was a four hour minimum. Matt walked in, talked to his men briefly and then left. No apology for the hold up or niceties. On that day it rained non stop. Their truck (Or should I say make shift, unmarked, horse trailer… I am NOT kidding. I was embarrassed for the neighbors to see it!) was too small to hold our belongings, so we had to make two trips. (Later on the workers stated that their boss deliberately sends a small vehicle so they have to make multiple runs, thereby jacking up the price.) These men were not exactly in a hurry either. They were taking their time, which included smoking breaks! The lights inside the trailer were broken so I had to leave my car running for approximately 3-4 hours that night in order to provide lighting for loading and unloading. After the first trip, the truck broke down (At approx. 10:30 pm). Since the truck had 2 batteries, we had to use both of our cars simultaneously to get that monster started.I called the owner, Matt while the men were loading the 2nd trip and I was blown away by how unprofessional, blasé, rude and nonchalant he was about the situation! He told me “This is your fault! If you have that big of a house, you should not schedule to move at 3pm… I did not ask you to use your car to provide light for my staff ... I did not ask you to help them to carry stuff .... I did not ask you to jump start the truck..... You should know better than to move at night!” I was also told something to the effect of Other people charge much more than I do. What do you want for $99/hr? What a horrible thing to say about ones own company!I reminded him that THEY were 3 hrs late and he just dismissed my comment. I also told him that he was the supposed moving “professional” and should have come out ahead of time to assess what needed to be moved so that the appropriate equipment could be provided. I also pointed out that he should have refused to move us at 3pm if he knew it was ill-advised. Additionally, his equipment should be in proper working order. I was told that I had signed a contract and was bound by it. I rebutted by pointing out that the tardiness of his employees and the failure of his equipment voided that contract. He then hung up the phone and called his workers telling them not to take the 2nd load off of the truck until I paid the bill in full. If I refused, then they were to leave with my possessions! Also, the workers stole $100 while they were there. (Some of the money that I had gotten from the bank to pay them, Id forgotten on my desk. (Mind you, the desk was NOT one of the objects which they were asked to move). Matt again in a very nonchalant tone stated that it was my fault for leaving the money out. I pointed out that people who perform duties which give them access to the belongings of others, should have enough integrity to not touch what does not belong to them. He did not seem surprised or concerned by the allegations. If I owned a business which involved going into peoples homes, I would be VERY concerned by that complaint!Even though we only moved 10 minutes away, they did not get done until 2 am (8 hrs later). After paying all of that money, there is STILL stuff at the house. Yesterday, we had to make several trips on our own with a pick up truck to get the move completed. It blows my mind that someone can be this careless with their livelihood and reputation. Matt was VERY arrogant and unapologetic!I wanted to give a local small business a chance... BIG MISTAKE!!!!!Do yourself a favor and use someone else after conducting A LOT of research!
Such a negative experience. Lots of upcharges and a disrespectful owner. Wished I had checked out the Yelp reviews first, since they come with lots of all caps warnings to stay away from this mover. Not worth the trouble/expense, even with a Groupon.
Complete rip off
