My husband and I hired Katie as a color consultant to help pick wall colors for our new house. She had some great suggestions. We followed her advice and we are very pleased with the outcome. We also found some lovely items in the store for our home.

Katie at Silk and Sage Design Studio upcycled two pieces of furniture for me. One was a credenza from my dads house, one was a 35 year old dresser my husband and I bought when we married. I LOVE both pieces so much, and they were definitely too much for me to tackle myself. Katie keeps you in touch with progressive photos along the way, making sure you like where the piece is heading. And, I did! When I am ready to tackle another large piece of furniture, I will definitely be calling Silk and Sage again. :)

Katie is your paint doctor! She really helped and nurtured me through the process of chalk paint. At first I was nervous to begin painting because of my perfectionism but Katie was always there to remind me that anything that happened could be fixed and she was right.I painted several things and a few things popped up as I was painting and waxing; and I simply called Katie and she walked me through the process of fixing what was happening with my pieces. Love love love this shop! I participated in their Paint your Own furniture class. My project was extremely challenging and meaningful to me as it was my late grandmothers jewelry chest. Katie has a great eye for color, design and detail. I thoroughly enjoyed my class and absolutely love how the piece turned out! They also have the best gifts and support so many local artists. I found Silk and Sage after I got a wild hair and decided to paint my back patio concrete slab in a Moroccan pattern stencil. The YouTube videos made it look so easy! Needless to say, it took far longer than I anticipated, a few extra trips to Home Depot, and the paint that I had bought online was definitely the wrong color. Enter Silk and Sage. They had the brand of paint I was looking for (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint) in a variety of colors, but more importantly they had the expertise I clearly needed so badly. Katie was enthusiastic about my project, which I needed at that point, and gave me some valuable tips that saved me a lot of time and money. She took the time to talk through the process with me, and I noticed that she did the same for all the other customers who came through while I was there. If you have a project like mine that you need quality supplies and solid advice on then I highly recommend Silk and Sage! Plus they have awesome print pieces, candles and other sweet little artistic gift items in the store so its a fun place to pop into.
