I had my injector cups, injectors and glow plugs replaced here. They were done when they said they would be for the price they quoted me and I havent had any problems with the repairs they did. That was 4 years ago. I would definitely recommend this shop for ford diesels. I will bring my truck back here if I need another repair.

Very knowledgeable when it comes to Fords. He has worked on my 7.3 for different reasons and his work is very thorough. Getting it done right the first time is very important as diesels can be expensive to repair. He came highly recommended and I also recommend him to others as well. Definitely trustworthy when it comes to diagnosis.

Hoven’s is the place to take your Ford diesels! I call them the Ford Doctor’s. I’ve had my truck in there on 3 different occasions, each time the problem was corrected the first time. Fair pricing, great communication, and completed on time. I couldn’t image going anywhere else. FYI - don’t be put off by the location, or the office decor.

I had a problem with my f350 coming into Bakersfield. I found Hovens And I will say they are possibly the best shop I have entered. They diagnosed the fix as a wire that had rubbed over the valve cover causing injector issues. He could have easily told me I needed an injector for 900.00 but he didnt. A really fair place with quality techs.

One of the best experiences Ive had with a mechanic while traveling. Finding a mechanic on the road can be scary. Brian is very fair with his labor, pricing, and the entire staff is very generous with their time. They are extremely knowledgeable and were a welcome surprise after having recently dealt with a pretty lousy mechanic in another town. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them, nor would I hesitate to go back if I find myself in need of their services anywhere within a days drive.

Ford 6.0 with an after market fuel kit that leaked and he was able to fix it quickly, parts on hand and nice to work with. He saved my bacon.

Experienced a couple warning lights with 2009 Chevy Silverado 4x4 1500 (ABS and traction control) while on a month long hunting trip around the West with my son. Brakes werent working great so pulled in to Bakersfield. Looked up a few places and settled on Hovens Automotive.EXTREMELY HAPPY that I did. Brian gave me a time to come in and upon arrival he had a mechanic looking at our issue. Diagnosed issue within 5 minutes, gave me a quote, and ordered the part. The mechanic took things apart while he waited for the car part to arrive. As soon as the part arrived they went straight to installing it.During the process the mechanic explained what he was looking for and why. He showed us the issue and explained it to us, while ensuring the issue didnt cause further damage (thankfully it did non). He allowed my son to watch (my son is in autotech classes in high school, so he has an interest) and continually explained things along the way.Brians shop specializes in light duty diesel but they are happy to help. Bakersfield wasnt a planned stop sho we wanted to get back on the road. This place is great, makes you feel good about getting your car fixed. Brian also gave me a veteran discount. Had a couple of issues fixed at Hovens. Went as expected, pricing was fair, and there was good communication about issues and options to maintain my older truck. Brian is always willing to answer questions about issues with the truck, concerns I have, and help me try to take care of my 3rd owner, 15 year old 7.3!

I had a fuel pump go out on my 02 7.3L Diesel Ford, they had it fixed in a couple days, it was a little expensive $1,000 to be exact, but they did a good job and they had it done quick, and when it comes to these Ford Diesel trucks, you dont want to cut cost corners. Nothings worse than dropping 44 gallons of diesel on the highway.

Our F250 6.0 L diesel died south of Bakersfield, and we were towed into Hovens. They quickly scanned our Ford, replaced the fuel injection control module and the EGR valve, and we were back on the road again. The total event took 5 hours, including waiting for the tow. Brian Hoven and his staff were prompt and courteous. The bill was not cheap (nothing is anymore), but it was significantly less than a dealers cost. We recommend Hovens to any Ford diesel owner.

Hoven’s is the best Diesel shop in the valley. They’ve kept my Duramax running great, very reasonable pricing and do done right everytime I’ve brought it in. Their aftermarket suggestions were also were spot on. They told me I needed a lift kit (fuel pump) before hauling was 100% right on.

Unbelievablly great people. Incredible prices and they stand by their work. They saved me from several nightmares. Use them. Holy smokes.I didnt think people like this existed anymore. They took out and dropped an engine in my desiel truck and explained everything in layman terms to me. They blew the competitions price out of the water which really saved my hiney to begin with. All the while they communicated with the parts store I had bought the engine from. When the turbo failed (luckily under warranty), they put a new one in from the parts place...which didnt work. So they communicated with the parts place and got another one, which was the wrong model. They finally convinced the parts place to get me a new one, ordered it and are going to drop it in essentially for free because the parts place wont pay them to do it twice even though it wasnt at all Hovens fault. These guys are saints. They didnt charge me a cent for the extra FOURTEEN HOURS of labor to remove and install the new turbo. I dont know how these wonderful men did this but I am forever grateful.

This is absolutely the only place to take your 6.0 diesel!! Or any Ford diesel for that matter..Brian and his team are Awesome! Skilled! and upfront Honest!I live in Las Vegas and last month while traveling through Bakersfield my truck fried its EGR cooler! After calling a couple other shops late in the day, and getting the usual run around, I called and talked with Brian (the owner). Even though his mechanics had already left for the day, he waited for me to limp my truck and Airstream trailer to his shop to have a look at it. Talk about customer service!!I ended up camping out in front of his shop over night. (with all the comforts of my little trailer). First thing the next morning, Even tho his shop was somewhat busy, they had my truck in the shop, accurately diagnosed, and being repaired. The costs were also very reasonable as well. Mind you an EGR cooler and oil cooler repair is exhaustive and doesn’t happen quickly. The skilled mechanics there had me back on the road by the end of the day!These guys really care about their clients. Lol When they took there lunch break, they even stopped by my trailer to see if I was hungry and offered to get me a lunch while they were out! Great bunch of guys!If I ever need major work done on this truck again, I’ll be taking it back to Hovens!
