Dont waste your time with these guys. I was sent to Chesapeake through Apples Keyboard Service Program after Apple had already determined that my 2016 Macbook was eligible for a free replacement. When I showed up at Chesapeake, they told me that my computer wasnt eligible and that it would cost over $800 for them to replace my keyboard. Even though I told him that Apple had sent me to them, the person I met with seemed completely uninterested in helping and dismissed me.I immediately called Apple tech support and had a repair appointment scheduled at the Apple Store in less than 10 minutes. Dont waste your time with Chesapeake Tech Services / Chesapeake Systems.
So helpful and kind. Thank you.
Extremely dismissive and not taking you seriously. Not recommended.
CHESA has a great team of IT professionals with strong expertise in digital asset management and workflow storage, backup, and archive solutions, video surveillance and cloud services!
Scale Logic has been working with Chesapeake Systems for almost a decade and cannot say enough about their expertise in the M&E space when it comes to media workflows. With their outstanding competencies, deep understanding of the industry and ability to consistently make things simple for us, we’ve come to see Chesapeake less like a customer and more like a true partner.
I spilled a glass of water on my MacBook Pro. I reached out to Chesapeake, which required me to make an appointment for more than a week after the incident for an in-person consultation. At the consultation, the tech merely entered the serial number of my MacBook and quoted me a price of $1300 to repair - the same amount I paid for the machine!!! Also want to note that there was no need for an appointment to do that - he could have done it over the phone when I first called him. Later that same day, I took my computer to Juvix the Tech Guy. Juvix first informed me that early intervention is critical to preventing further water damage, so the more-than-a-week wait had likely caused more damage. He then explained that Chesapeakes quote was simply to replace the main board and other components, and not to actually repair anything. Juvix opened my computer up right then and there and showed me some of the work he would do. He ran a diagnostic and gave me a much lower quote for repair. He was able to fully repair my machine like new and salvage all the data on it for just a couple hundred bucks. Chesapeake utterly failed me, would not recommend.
These guys were very easy to work with, communication was good, down to earth people... Highly recommend them!
Very professional staff great COVID protocols.
Unfortunately, my experience here resulted in a misdiagnosis of my I-Mac. I was assured that the diagnostic had been done (which it had been). I sat and waited. The gentlemen was adamant about the fact he had run the diagnostic and that there was nothing else he could do as he did not find anything wrong. I asked if we could plug it back in and listen. The office space was certainly ideal for him to listen to what I heard if he would have just plugged it back in and we listened together. He said the diagnostic had been done and there was nothing else he could do. Essentially and seemingly, he was not willing to listen to what I was hearing. I called Apple Care again the same day and went into the Apple Store a few days later on appointment. Apple took the computer for a couple days, actually listened with me, replaced the fan, and returned it to me. The noise was a faulty fan that Apple replaced. Now, my computer is quiet and running smoothly.I am only disappointed that the gentlemen would not at least try to hear what I was hearing. He would not assist me - resulting in yet another appointment that was unnecessary and preventable had he just been willing to assist. I really wish this gentleman would have been a bit more lenient as opposed to being so stringent in his approach. The renovation of this old church is beautiful, however. I was thoroughly impressed with what they did with the space I was able to see. I am sure they do very fine work, but this technician missed the mark with customer service. I can not comment on their work as I did not have the opportunity to experience the fine work, I assume, they do as computer technicians.
I totally spilled a bunch of sweet tea right into my open laptop like an idiot. I knew it wouldn’t be covered by warranty. I figured it would be expensive..... but didn’t quite expect it to be THAT expensive......That said, the fella at Chesapeake Systems was calm, professional, clear (about cost and reasons for costs) and quite competent. He told me it might not be ready till week’s end but was ready by Wednesday afternoon. It was a MILLION times more pleasant an experience than trying to make myself visible in the throngs at the Genius Bar at the mall. That place is a zoo. I will use Cheasapeake Systems again.
They told me on the phone they could honor the warranty but once I got there they said I should go to the apple store!! completely we’re wrong on the phone. extremely dis-satisfied.
If only I could give NO Stars! What is the point of being an Apple Authorized Repair Service if you dont honor Apple Care?! The guy misrepresented my level of service, exaggerated the damage to my laptop, and then hyper-inflated the cost of repair. He didnt understand my technical background and understanding of exactly what I paid for with Apple Care. So, I left, called Apple and made an appointment for the Genius Bar where they repaired my laptop without cost since it was covered by my Apple Care.
Zeb, the sales guy, was an expert and asked all the right questions. I decided on a MacBook Air. I love it!
I have purchased parts and adapter cables from Chesapeake in the past and have had good experiences with them so, when my Mac stopped working, I decided to take it to them for service.I dropped my computer off and was told that the turnaround time was about a week. Not hearing anything after 12 days, I called but the recorded message said that the service department didnt take incoming calls. I tried the repair status checker on their website, but it just kept reloading, so I drove over to check on the status. It turned out that they had not even looked at my computer and I was told that they would look at it tomorrow. The receptionist was very nonchalant and her only explanation was Weve been busy. After I got back out to my car, I wondered how long I would have waited to hear from them if I hadnt stopped in and I decided to just go back in, get the computer and take it elsewhere. The only positive thing about the experience was that my deposit was cheerfully refunded. I wont be going back.
Your Mac has a 30/70% chance of working after you take it here. Sorry 10/90%
I trust Chesapeake Systems with all my mac problems. They have always listened to my problem and worked until it was fixed. Once, they forgot to give me a cord back and an employee drove it out to my house! Not many places have such good customer service!
