I cant possibly stress how wonderful this shop is. Theyve helped me with such a variety of things over the years. Laptop issues, speaker on my cell phone and even took in my old car radio for recycling!Hardware recycling, laptop fix, computer repairs, cellphone repairs. Just a fantastic place!!
Great service. Very honest. Good expertise
VERY disappointed experience. Called the shop to ask about a potential repair, however the owner was extremely rude and impatient on the phone, and wont even give a rough quote for the repair. Overall it just felt like nobody knows about computer like he does so everybody should just shut up and listen to whatever he says -- not a respectful and professional way to do business at all!
They fixed my laptop in a day and price wasn’t bad at all!
Good Food Fast Service
I didn’t buy anything but took a broken tv off my hands without charging a recycling fee.
I called to inquire about getting a phone screen repaired. Woman that answered was very professional and polite. She knew what I needed and quoted a price. I will be calling again.
Didnt go. Expensive! I Called earlier this year about a cracked screen on my HP laptop and was quoted between $100 to $130 dollars.
They fixed my laptop in 2 days. Major props for that.
Went in with an exceptionally simple laptop pc repair request: Solder ONE wire back onto its terminal. Even though it was entirely exposed and easily visible without removing the plastic case (because the case was broken off on that corner from an accidental drop), they said it would be easier and cheaper to take the whole laptop apart and replace the entire board for a couple hundred dollars. Are you kidding me??? If Id had a soldering iron I was sure I could have done it myself in no time flat! On the way home I stopped at a mom and pop shop near my house and had the repair done in less than 10 minutes for $20. Sorry, guys, you lost all credibility with me.
I had a great experience. Careful attention was paid to everythingneeded for my laptop. I was not overcharged. The service was timelyand the fellow who seviced my laptop was engaging and thorough.
My understanding was that they had no idea of how to fix any problem on a Mac! They opened my mac and took a look and gave it back to me saying that we couldnt do anything: I brought it back and it turned out that my Mac didnt recognize the battery. It was a mistake to go there: the appearance of the store suggests obviously!!
Very bad experience. Unreasonable price and very slow service.
The product is good but the hours here are odd and the place has an unpleasant smell to it. It seems like it is a place for the guys running it to play with old computers but that is reassuring since that indicates they have experience
Place is a total mess. I would NEVER go here to have an actual computer problem resolved. However the staff is friendly and if you need a cable or part and dont have time to wait for Amazon to deliver its worth trying this place.
I dont know why this shop hasnt closed down. They must be selective about whom they give adequate service, like many businesses in Baltimore... decent for one, horrible for another, as their bipolar moods and whims take them... or perhaps they have some invisible criteria, or some strange prejudice based on conspiracy theories. Maybe theyre still in business because they perform expensive and illegal computer tasks for select private clients and bribe the police? Its one of the many things that makes Baltimore an unliveable city., but one can play abnormal psychology for only so long. I simply know I left a laptop in to get formatted, and kept getting the excuse that it had been left in the van for a week. I finally left some heated words on their answering machines threatening legal action, got my laptop back within two days, and never went back.
New ownership, this place is coming back to life. Drop by!
Welcome to the Little Shop of Hardware. I suggest you sit back, relax and enjoy the adventure. Here are some tips for making this an enjoyable excursion. The first thing to keep in mind is that the owner of the shop isnt AS smart as a rocket scientist. That is because he IS a rocket scientist. Paul was a student at Johns Hopkins applied physics when desktops needed screensavers because the internet was nothing more than a blinking green cursor and mnemonics atop a black background. Second, you are not in a Best Buy Dorothy. Dorothy has boarded a bus full of people who could be the cast of a John Waters movie (millennials will have to use their imagination since Monsieur Waters no longer makes movies). A life sized cardboard cutout of Divine would fit right in with the decor of the store. Third, you will get more bang for your buck than you ever thought possible. They will fix the unfixable or offer a solution that is not in the Geeks handbook. L.S.O.H. does not have a handbook. They will also charge a fair price for their services. If you yearn for a local service, here you go. They have been servicing their customers for so long that it is one of the few people in this business that can say that they fixed your parents computer, while they were designing a communications satellite.
