Absolutely love this gem of a local craft store. Inside youll find a ton of beautiful fabrics and sewing notions as well as some yarn and other little craft kits like cross-stitch. Ive taken several classes here and have found them to be amazing. Love the instructors and love the staff. Cant say enough about how great this place is.

Absolutely glorious fabric and fiber store. Helpful staff assisted me in narrowing down fabrics for a baby quilt I am working on. Found lots of other treasures like wool felt and knitting supplies and books. My kids were at home there and we all had such a great shopping experience

I live in CA and this is my second time to visit Domesticity, new shop this time. I was eager to come back and shop more in person.Beautiful fabric, wide variety and very well priced. Great selection of notions.The owner and employees are as sweet as can be, very knowledgeable and helpful as well.My daughter, who lives here, and myself had a delightful day shopping here.Definitely recommend this shoppe.Online shopping is a fantastic way to gather your sewing needs as well.I can’t wait to visit again.In the meantime I’m shopping online.Joanie

One of my favorite quilt shops I’ve visited. It was worth the trip from downtown! Nani Iro and lots of great garmet fabrics too. Much love for this treasure trove.

I found Domesticity while listening to a podcast, and I am so glad! I was purchasing mask supplies for a friends daughter and my experience was amazing. The website made it so easy to find everything I needed. Im not local to the shop and everything was delivered within a week. I selected pre-cut mask fabric not knowing the patterns or anything. What came feels like great quality and the patterns are SO cute! I had the best experience.

Beautiful fabrics and the woman working there was very friendly. She wrapped my fabric beautifully and it just added a nice extra touch.

I’m a big fan of Domesticity. I’ve taken 3 classes with them, loved all of the teachers and the sewing community they have built. Especially happy to support them now when they are going the extra mile to organize mask-making efforts to be donated to local healthcare workers and other vulnerable populations. Love that it’s possible to shop online and pick up safely, and looking forward to shopping at the new location in person as soon as possible. Domesticity has a much better selection than the box store in my opinion and the shopping experience is so much nicer.

I have taken 2 classes here and they were both great. Christina and Ashley have been so helpful in the past, especially since Im new to sewing. The new store space is beautiful and much bigger than the old storefront. Highly recommend! Shop local!

A great shop. Always willing to go the extra mile to help out however they can.I find them to be incredibly kind and sweet and cannot imagine a bad experience.Instead of Amazon support a local business. Just as quick and same price point but the impact is felt locally. This is a business that gives back to the community and lifts up other local businesses. Definately worth the 45 minutes I drive to visit.Keep up the good work!

Cute store with helpful staff! Amazing selection of the cutest fabric I’ve ever seen, a bit pricey though. Took a star away because of very slow service. The woman with the dark hair (not the owner) needs to work on cutting fabric while talking instead of stopping each time she said something. Not a bad experience at all, just took longer than expected.

Such great fabric selection and great customer service! The online ordering and delivery was really smooth and gave us LOTS of projects to keep the kids engaged. Highly recommend this shop!

I absolutely love this shop. Im a novice sewer who generally makes small projects and I appreciate that they are never rude about having to cut several small quantities of fabric. Furthermore, the staff always makes a genuine effort to be engaging and helpful. As a younger person of color, Im often profiled or largely ignored in stores. This is never the case in Domesticity. If youre in the market for vibrant, quirky and unique fabrics, this is the place to go.

Domesticity is a dream come true for the local sewing community. Previously, my only other options for designer fabrics had been online and I was disappointed many times by how thin the fabric was or how the colors were different than what I saw on my screen. Now I have the ability to see and feel the fabrics before I buy them.I find a wide and frequently changing selection of fabrics every time I visit. Pricing is on par with the market trends and the sales are excellent. I am always able to ask questions and get advice.If you are a sewing enthusiast I highly recommend Domesticity!

Domesticity is thriving and very successfully helping the sewing comminuty run smoothly during these difficult times. Domesticity is a wonderful place! They offer a warm, welcoming environment that is open to ALL interested in learning a fun, new craft. I m a complete beginner and have fallen in love with sewing; all because of this shop. I am excited to continue meeting others looking for a way to connect and have fun while creating awesome things!

This is really a reply to the post accusing the shop of being racist.Wow. Im not sure who you got, but thats not the store I know at all. Ive been black for 40+ years and know when Im being profiled. This is one of the VERY few fabric / sewing machine shops in the area that actually has visible black employees -- both at the counter and as instructors. Ive not gotten a whiff of of what you felt. The store is under 300 square feet too, if they were really checking for theft, they could do it from the counter. And there arent many small things to lift either, unless they thought you were going to take a 45 tall bolt of fabric out with you. Im sorry you felt that happened, but I think you should give them another chance or reach out to the owner. Shes pretty open. Full disclosure, Im one of the black people who teaches there. And Ive been plenty of places where Im followed, told immediately whats on sale, or even worse -- ignored like I dont have the money. Domesticity isnt one of those spots.

Great small shop with beautiful fabrics and notions!! Although the space is small, limiting the amount of items, the selection is beautifully curated with great options. I am excited to see their expanded options when they move to their larger space early next year. The owner was there when I was there and gave me a perfect amount of attention and space to view everything comfortably.

I stopped by Domesticity while visiting family who just moved to Baltimore. (I love finding new quilt shops.) Domesticity is an absolute gem. Christina, the owner, was so very warm and welcoming. She has chosen beautiful and interesting collections of modern fabrics to reside on her shelves. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I just moved right across the street from this amazing store about a month ago. Everytime I go in, I am met with so much helpful friendliness! All of the fabrics sold here are so adorabe and beautiful!! It is so much fun to peruse. I am not an avid seamstress, and I barely have sewing experience, but I am learning because of all of the wonderful finds I come across here! I am reading some bad reviews below, and I am wondering if they are talking about a different store. It couldnt be further from my experience. I have shopped at this store 4-5 times, and loved every trip. Thank you so much!! I cant wait to see the new location in the fall!

The store did not have what I wanted, but the woman on the phone could not have been more pleasant or more helpful. In suggesting a other way to solve my problem. If their stock is as good as she, the store’s winner

I love this little fabric shop located over Chop Shop in Lauraville. They have so many of the beautiful designer and independent fabrics and sewing supplies I was previously only able to source online. To touch them is to love them and it really matters to me to be able to see fabrics in person. Christina is very friendly and helpful with a great eye for what to select. I havent taken any of their classes yet but they are offering many including beginner classes, garment sewing, even some for kids.

I took a sewing class, and was very happy with my experience. The instructor was patient and helpful. The fabric selection was great. The space is a bit small, so I felt a little claustrophobic at moments, but it was a great experience overall.

If I could give this shop a 0 star rating I would... The woman working was clearly racist. I entered the store, a black woman, looking to get into clothing making in my spare time. As I entered, the clerk immediately stops conversation and asks why I am there. I explained my situation and she followed me around the small shop to make sure I didnt steal anything. I will not return and highly suggest that no one supports this racist shop.
