Used to love this place. We got some rain when hurricane Ida passed nearby, and ever since they feel their hours need to be changed. Was understandable for maybe 3 days after rainstorm, but whats going on now? Was the only place available for those whose schedule puts shopping during the late night and early morning hours.

One star is generous! This location has a serious problem with managing their pharmacy drive thru. Cars back up and block all traffic on Government St. I just sat for 15 minutes waiting for the cars to pull forward. Finally, another driver got out of their car and actually directed traffic in the parking lot! So ridiculous! This should never happen. I’ve tried to talk to the manager but can’t get thru.

Really surprised corporate hasnt gotten involved with this Walgreens at this point, because theyre extremely slow in every way. Photo, pharmacy, and even the cash register at the front. If someones not there, you can expect to wait a while. The people ARE nice when you do interact with them, but having to wait 40 minutes to pick up something? Thats just too much... Do yourself a favor and find another drugstore that isnt on Government

The pharmacy is extremely slow and the staff lacks customer service. This is honestly the worse Walgreens in BR. They don’t answer the phone for some reason and wonder why the line is to the street because everyone has to come put their prescriptions in at the same time instead of them just utilizing the PHONE and filling some of the prescriptions as their called in. They don’t even fill the ones that’s sent to them ahead of time until you go there and “check in” first. It really makes no sense, and it’s sad that this is one of the few pharmacies that stays open late.

The worst costumer service I’ve ever experienced (anywhere). They will tell you the prescription is ready only to have to wait in line for 1-2 hours for medication which will never be prepared. DO NOT EVEN USE THIS LOCATION....EVER

Not sure what happened to this place. It used to be way better. Now the drive through is always closed, it’s impossible to get someone on the phone, prescriptions are late, you have to wait in a long line for hours and the parking lot is very unsafe.

Worst Pharmacy in the area.Walgreens says they are 1200 scripts behind. That sounds like aYOU problem and NOT mine. I NEED MY MEDICINE.Where does the nightmare begin...Everytime you come here- expect to wait in line for an hour or so. They have one line which is for all drop offs, consultations and pickups.If you try to get someone on the phone its nearly impossible. You will call and be on hold for an hour and a half and than the recording will say they are on break for 30 mins. This can happen at 10:45am, 1pm or even 6pm. Than when you wait that out- the system will hang up on you.Now, hurricane Ida came. I tried to pick up my scripts 2 days early because its a hurricane. Waited in line for an hour. Pharmacist says nope we cant fill it. The law states you can have your script up to 2 days early. Pharmacist will not give you your prescription slip back either so you can have it filled elsewhere.2nd attempt next day over 1 hr in line. Yielded same results.Day 3 storm arrives.Day 4 showed up at store.. nope. closed.. systems are downDay 5 store opens but then they close the doors without warning and still wont give me my prescription back.Day 6 is tomorrow. Ill go waste another 2 hours out of my day and will probably leave with no prescription.I tried to call my doctors office to have the prescription called in elsewhere. They cant and say their hands are tied- because walgreens has my prescription slip. They told me to get my prescription slip from walgreens. A vicious, horrible cycle.Update:Day 6 today.I was told they would be open 8-4 today. Showed up at 9:30am only to be told the store was open but the pharmacy was STILL CLOSED. No one answers phone even when you try photo or any other department. I see the pharmacy is open at other locations but cant get my prescription transfered on app and cant get in touch with store. Try again tomorrow. Thats DAY 7.Update:Day 7 today.Showed up today and now store is COMPLETELY CLOSED. Security Guard told me to call my doctors office. So frustrated.

Made an appointment - APPOINTMENT - to get the Covid vax shot. I arrive a few minutes before. Never mind the line at the pharmacy reached from counter to over halfway to the front door. Once the long wait ends Im, of course, well past my appointment time. No big deal. Once my turn in the que comes around Im told theyve run out of doses for the day. WTH? APPOINTMENT! Couldnt be less professional if they tried. Couldnt be a bigger flop if theyd planned on it. Made a new appointment at the CVS on the same corner. Now to see if I get more of what Ive come to know as the Baton Rouge treatment. Massive fail, Walgreens.

So my doctor sent my prescriptions last night,I’ve called and visited three times since. Still aren’t filled. I have strep, I have a job, I need my medicine but this place made sure I not only would not receive it but they will not even talk to me about it. Never ever EVER use Walgreens my god especially this one.

Update: I have repeatedly been told on Walgreens Facebook page by Walgreens that a district manager would contact me. Never happened. The message is clear. They dont care. And during a pandemic we hear you Walgreens. Message received.Two weeks agoLast night my son had an ear infection and was running almost 101 fever. Walgreens got the prescription at 930 p.m. and they told my wife it might not be ready for an hour and then they closed at 11p.m. with no communication to us.She talked to someone there at walgreens face to face. I just stood in a line eight people deep and was told it wasnt ready. I asked when it would be ready and she said it was in alphabetical order and she had no idea. Then she referred me to a pharmacist who told me they didnt have the prescrption at all. I said that clerk said you had it and when she came over and punched a few buttons she said she never told me that and that they never got it. We are now having to call urgent care to see if they can transfer it boltons pharmacy. My son is in pain and running 101 plus at this point.if these wait times are normal this walgreens needs to tell people up front. On the other hand something similar has happened to us and others here before. But this will happen to someone else who is sicker and they will become worse or die because of their incompetence and lack of transparency.

Terrible management team. I tried to return/exchange a Walgreens brand product for something more expensive that they have in stock I was declined even though Walgreens homepage states all Walgreens products can be returned and exchanged. After calling the customer service line I was recommended to visit another Walgreens location on Siegen which I was taking care of less than 10 minutes. Express pick up is false advertising. Stood in Express lane they called everyone in line like I was no standing there. I had to ask if I should had stayed in regular line instead of taking advantage of something that was offered to me before I was helped. To me 20 minute is not Express. Either honor it or just take it away dont make me believe its possible when its really not

No friendly at all, and if you need your meds filled, expect to wait 2 hours after they say it will be filled...then, expect to wait another 2 hours to pick it up because they are so slow...this place is just disgusting. Ive noticed since Rite Aid across the street closed, this locations pharmacy has been super busy. As far as the staff goes, Ive had nothing but positive experiences---and Ive dealt with at least 4 different pharmacy personnel. Theyre always kind and helpful when I fill + pick up a prescription; e.g., the time they were out of my Rx, the pharmacy tech went back and found another Baton Rouge location that had it in stock. She could have left me hanging to call or search around myself, but she made my life a little easier.

Probably the worst pharmacy experience I’ve ever had in my life. Not once, not twice, but now three times I’ve tried to get a prescription filled here and they don’t have what I need in stock and neglected to inform my doctor. Waited in line for 35 minutes to receive this news. Don’t make the mistake of giving these people your business.

This particular Walgreens is disorganized and desperately understaffed. I called a prescription in and came to pick it up 24hrs later. Prescription was not ready and it took another hour to get my simple prescription filled. The main store is okay, the pharmacy is somehow always in chaos.Update: Returned several months later. Called ahead about my prescription and went at an off time (4:00pm). The service was much faster. Increased by 1 star

I honestly hate going here. No matter when or how many times you call to check the status of your prescription, no one will answer. You go to the place of business to see if they have it and almost everyone is on their cell phone. I dont know why they feel everyone has the time or energy to wait for them to finish conducting their personal business before being serviced. This is extremely unprofessional!!!!

The pharmacy has polite staff, but they have not followed through to transfer two life-saving medications of mine from out-of-state since I moved from Georgia. I even spoke with a pharmacist about the matter this morning at about 7:45 am, and he did not express concern that Id had this problem twice. When I told him what had happened, he told me, So what do you want me to do? So it didnt seem to occur to him that he needed to address the matter with his primary staff that answer the phones to speak with customers. I had to tell him you need to have a serious talk with your staff, because many of the prescriptions called in from people are life-saving medications, and they should already be filled if someone (like me) is calling them in to your staff a week in advance. I called my medicines in to this Walgreens, to be transferred over, about a week before Id run out of them. Im also calling CVS and Wal-Mart to ask for their own assistance, to see which pharmacy fills it first, because I do not feel that I can count on this Goverrnment Street Walgreens to fill my Rx today. I do not want to end up in the hospital because the pharmacy staff did not care enough to get my prescription transferred.

If I could rate this place no stars, I would. The pharmacys service is impressively terrible; Ive never seen any place so completely incompetent at their sole purpose. Today is April 29th. Ive been trying to get a prescription refilled since the 19th. Ive replied to the reply to this email to refill this prescription email. No refill. Ive set up automatic refill services. No refill, but it says the refill should be done by the 26th. So I stop by the pharmacy on the 26th, only to give up after 20 minutes because the one person ahead of me literally has her car turned off, thats how long shes camped out there for. I call on the 27th, wait on the phone for over 15 minutes, and finally get through to a pharmacist, who tells me theres no history of that prescription refill, but hell put it through for me and itll be ready by Sunday the 28th. So I stop there on my way to work this morning, thinking mid-morning on a Monday is as good a time as any to--maybe--get some customer service. There was no one in line at the drive-through, and by my count at least 3 employees back in the pharmacy area, and yet, even after pushing the call button and being told theyd be there in a minute, I had to drive away after sitting for nearly 10 minutes so I wasnt late for work. All of this headache on top of last month, when Walgreens somehow deleted the prescription order from my doctors office and, 3 weeks and over 2 hours of waiting on hold or in line later, finally filled it. And this isnt some ancillary prescription, either. As soon as I am able to actually get my latest refill from them, Im taking my business somewhere else.

I know a lot of the reviews of this location have been abysmal, but for what its worth, Ive had pleasant and quick service at this location. I switched because the CVS next door was always putting up signs saying they werent taking prescriptions or theyd close the drive through and they never kept my insurance information straight. My doctor warned me that shed heard equally bad things about this Walgreens, but since Ive switched, theyve been prompt at filling prescriptions, even with new patients with complicated insurance issues. Yesterday, they lost power and closed for the afternoon, but when I went by at 6:50 this morning, a nice pharmacist or tech quickly worked on my RX. So, like most pharmacies in the area, I think theyre pretty busy, but the people Ive encountered have gone out of their way to assist me. I never feel like theyre putting me off because my situation is too time consuming or annoying for them to deal with.

DISGUSTING little guy worked there on 12/20/2018. I dropped of my prescription and told him Id be back. Came back and told him my first name(not thinking tired) but anyway he asked my last name & stated I know you didnt expect me to remember yo face and rolled his eyes. Used this pharmacy for a year and it seriously lacks customer service. I have called the pharmacy and been on hold for over an hour. I figure the pharmacy must be very busy and drive over there in a couple minutes only to see no line, no one bothering to pick up the phone, or even say may I help you. You stand at the counter awkwardly until someone finally comes to help and then they say some outrageous time for your prescription to be ready. I wouldnt have an issue if someone would answer the phone and set up my pick up. Instead I have to drive over there to find no one giving a damn about the phone. I wish corporate would have a secret shopper rate the store and see how bad the pharmacy is to customers. They need to hire good staff and actually have stores run like they show in commercials and back up their claims of great costumer service. Right now, Im not seeing it at all....

By far the worst pharmacy ever! They people are lazy and slow. I does not make any sense for a bunch of workers to be rude and lazy. The lines are always long, then when you finally get in front of one of the pharmacys staff they workers are rude and attempt to rush you. Either more staff needs to be hired or the staff needs to be trained better in customer service. Lets not even get on their phone skills. How did they even get their job? GEESH!

Although I do not like the long wait every time, when my daughter was 10 days old she needed medicine and my insurance company still wasnt recognizing that she had been added, the lady at checkout went above and beyond to find me every possible discount on the medicine because we had to have it immediately until I was able to get the coverage fixed.

If there was an option to give it no stars I would. The pharmacy has kept me on hold for 45 minutes, they answered. I asked to have my RX’s refilled and picked up tonight, she said ok and transferred me. It rang and rang and rang until someone picked up the phone and hung it up. Called again and now I’m on hold for another 40 minutes. Is there any Walgreens in Baton Rouge were you can get your meds refilled without so much b*s* I’m sick, I don’t even want to go get meds let alone be prevented from filling them. All these Walgreens in this town are terrible.

By far the worst customer service Ive ever had. How these people got degrees to be pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is beyond me. They were slow, rude, and acted like I was inconveniencing them to have my presciption transferred from another Walgreens because I just moved here. After rolling her eyes and arguing with me over the refill date on my presciption, she grabbed it out of my hand and told me to call back everyday to see if they received the transfer paperwork and remind them to refill it for me. Completely incompetent and disrespectful people. Will NEVER use Walgreens again
