Itโs difficult as a student to do schoolwork here with all of the excessive noise. Half the time their WiFi does not work. As a college student I would not recommend studying or doing work here.
We have a family of four kids. The play area alone gives them 3 stars before anything. The crawfish quest grits was amazing. My daughter had the avocado toast with feta; her words. Yumm! The wife got the avocado English muffin. She loved it. My two boys got the All American breakfast. Delicious. Our two year old didnโt care about anything except the play area. Win. The coffee was great as well!!!
Java Mama was a pleasant surprise! There was a private party for a family member and the accomodations were great for the occasion. The lavatories were clean, there was a play area for children, and the hosts were polite and professional. The coffee was very good and fresh! The seating and surroundings were nicely arranged with plenty of space. So, it seems this would be a nice place to have coffee and treats with a friend.
This place is adorable! My first time here was actually for a business meeting. They have a nice separate room with lots of natural sunlight and tables/seating. My team grabbed coffee and lunch! There is a play area for kids, so parents can chat/study/work or just relax a few while the kiddos play! However, I didnt have my littles with me! It did get a little noisy at prime play time, but we probably could have closed the door to the separate room had we asked. It didnt last long and must have been nap time because about 1pm they all cleared out and you could hear a pin drop in there! My second visit was also another business meeting to train an employee on something. It was a great spot to meet up at, drink coffee and use their Wi-Fi! Their staff was friendly, and even brings you your food after you order!Their drive-thru can be pretty slow tbh, but I do like their coffee!
I ordered a hot coffee requesting a pump of caramel and chocolate with skim milk. I was going to be charged $7.00. I assured the woman taking my order I did not want a latte just a hot coffee with added syrups. When I asked about the milk I was told they donโt do that. I went to take a sip to find see it about half full. To say the least, Iโm not thrilled with how much I paid and not receiving a full cup of coffee!
Im a college student and usually when I go to coffee shops to get work done or study Iโm expecting it to be a calm environment. Since the roads were still closed as well as the library and I didnโt want to drive all the way to campus I decided to finally try this place. The tea I had was okay, a little pricey. If youโre looking to do work... avoid this place unless youโre going to come early in the morning or about an hour before closing. It was so much noise with the kids in the play area I was barely able to focus. Its cute though
Great environment and delicious coffee....this place is awesome
I came in for a coffee and ordered a salad. I waited 20 minutes for a southwestern salad.. I thought they were cooking the turkey so I didnโt say anything. But sure enough the kid just forgot and finally got the idea because I was staring at the kids behind the counter just chit chatting away. The southwest salad was just torn up DELI MEAT, spring mix, crushed up tortilla chips and shredded cheese. I cannot believe I paid $10 for that. Much less waited 20 minutes. Latte was ok, hard to mess that up. Decor was cute but play place seemed a little sad :(
Excellent service clean excellent lattes and all safety measures are in place
Such a beautiful place amd great for the kids but the food is always cold and not prepared well...
Unfortunately I donโt normally give reviews but in this case I need too. This place is definitely overpriced but that is not my concern. I went through the drive-through ordered a regular coffee sweetener and half-and-half. Unfortunately I drove all before I tasted my coffee it was relatively cold and very weak. And as I was reading the label and looked at the coffee instead of them giving me half-and-half creamer they put half coffee and half milk. That tells me that the people through the drive-through does not know what theyโre doing. If someone ask for half-and-half creamer which I did that should be it give me not half milk half coffee. By the time I tasted it I was already five minutes away. So my 12 ounce four dollars and 50 Cent coffee milk I guess is what I got.
Beautiful play area, good food, wonderful staff. They were polite and kind in the extreme, even giving my friend a small pitch of hot water so she could warm milk for her baby
Friendly staff but disappointing products. Chai Tea Latte (strangely) turned out to taste exactly like coffee. Beignets were disappointingly rubbery.
A bit pricey in my opinion for what you get drinkwise. The scones are very good.
Neat place and concept... A good thing for central
Canโt recommend this place as a suitable spot to bring kids. $8 for some tired old wooden play equipment is a little absurd. They gave us no heads up on the high price before our kid ran into the play area. So as my wife was going to pay for her coffee, they quietly slipped in the $8 charge for that. How nice of them. The equipment is totally unsafe for little ones too - tons of metal and fragile wooden chairs. There was also no floor padding, and the climbing equipment is pretty tall. Not trying to be a Karen, but if a kid were to fall, theyโd tumble down several feet onto hardwood flooring. Also, at the time of this writing, weโre still in the middle of COVID-19. Only one barista was wearing a mask, even though Louisiana has a mask order still in place. And no sanitization was being done to the kidsโ play equipment. There was only an empty hand sanitizer bottle by the door. But to be fair, it seems that only a few folks in Central (or even Baton Rouge) are taking the pandemic seriously.
Definitely overpriced and i did not know this was like a momโs coffee shop. The kids were so loud, do not go here if you want a place to do work.
The drinks we got were fantastic. A little pricy and a little bit of wait but it was really good.
Love the whole staff and all of the coffee, especially the caramel drizzle!!
THEY MAKE YOU PAY $9 PER CHILD TO PLAY AFTER THE FACT OF BUYINGTERRIBLE FOOD, and COFFEE THAT COSTS A FORTUNE AS IT IS. THIS IS A DISCGRACE. ID GIVE. IT A ZERO IF POSSIBLE. DONT ADVISE THIS PLACE.STAFF IS UNCARING AND DO NOT HELP
Never open and way too expensive for lackluster coffee.
Awesome place!
