This is exactly why I choose to do business with small independent companies! I bought a used refrigerator in December and my renter was having some issues and they were incredibly responsive and helped trouble shoot back to a tripped fuse. Even before they knew that, they said ‘we will take care of you’ and offered to come out and fix it even though the warranty had expired. Thank you for your kindness and integrity! I highly recommend them!!!

Do not use B & R discount appliances!!I’m only writing this so that people don’t have the same experience I have had.I paid for a washing machine and $125 for an install and they forgot to put the plug in so my entire basement flooded.I had to have a restoration company come out and dry out the whole basement for 3 days while one of my tenants had to move for those few days because their room was flooded.They STILL have not paid the restoration company 6 weeks later and I am now going to have to take them to court and sue them for the whole cost ($4500).Every time I call now they do not pick up. I have tried to be as honorable as possible to both them and the restoration company, but B & R has been no help at all.

I am sure they are good people once you can actually get in the store. But i had a bad experience in regards to communication with B&R. I emailed them on 2/6 - no response. I called the following week - no response -no way to leave a message. I physically drive out from Vancouver on 2/21 during their posted business hours online and on their door - not open. I call the next day - same thing, no response, no way to leave a message. From a fellow business owner myself, I strive for much much better communication then B&R is currently providing. I wish them the best. i ended up at Appliance City and they had a wide ranging selection.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly through every interaction Ive had with them. I was offered very quick delivery options and they were very flexible when we needed to change our order. I would shop here before considering alternatives.

If I could give negative stars I would. Stay away scammers.1.) Found a washer and dryer set, sales guy says $799 then wanders off.2.) Dude shows back up 15 minutes later and says yeah this one how about $899. I dont argue with him fine $899 its still a decent deal for a new scratch n dent washer and a refurbished dryer.3.) It gets delivered and setup washer starts making a horrible grinding sound. They say they will send out a repair man. They cancel the original appointment and put it out for another day.4.) They tell me they are replacing it with the same unit. Its not the same unit its 1cu ft smaller washing area has less features, but its newer?5.) The washer gets here cool.6.) Wash 4 loads of laundry the dryer stops working. It will heat up, but it no longer spins. Cool broken belt whatever.7.) Call them tell them whats going on.8.) They have me run some tests does it heat spin freely etc.9.) Discover the dryer not only doesnt spin, but they didnt connect the dryer vent.10.) Its the weekend cool repairman cannot come in until Tuesday fine whatever.11.) Tuesday shows up repair guy never shows.12.) I get a voicemail 15 minutes before the end of their arrival time saying they needed to reschedule.13.) This is my bad I read the voice to text on VM and just figured they would show up the next day.14.) I call to see what time they are showing up, guy says they cant come until next Monday.15.) Annoyed finally I say really.16.) The guy starts yelling at me17.) I explain to the guy everything and his response is dont insult me? I literally never insulted him just explained the situation.18.) All of my phone calls are recorded if you would like to hear how these people treat their customers message me Ill send you the recording.Honestly at this point I feel like they do bait and switch and try and Jack up the prices on the way. Bad company stay away

A bunch of creeps and liars work here. They will say they have something but they don’t. Was given a number to text by a salesperson via the phone. A few days later they started texting me at 5 am to send them pictures. At first I thought they replied to the wrong number but no-he was serious. Gross! Don’t go here!

We went in to buy a fridge on a budget but needed something big enough for our families needs since our fridge broke. Not only did he take our old fridge, he was extremely helpful and sold us a great new Fridgidaire Fridge!He was extremely helpful, personable and even helped us diagnose a problem our double oven at home was having. This is why we choose to do business with small businesses rather than large box stores when we can! Went to B&R in a pinch, needed a washing machine for a property.Nice Staff.Fair pricing and quick delivery.I was very pleasantly surprised.We ended up buying a used unit with a 90day warranty.

Don’t waste your time going to B&R. When I called and spoke to a salesman about a wall oven for sale for $899, he said he would be negotiable on the price. After driving from Brush Prairie, WA to Beaverton, he stated he would not come down on the price. I talked to the owner and he said he would lower the price $25 for my gas. Really? I also noticed that their used prices are very high compared to other used dealers. If you want to pay high prices and want bad customer service, then go to B&R Appliance. Otherwise, don’t waste your time and shop elsewhere.

I went in looking for a cheap washer for my rental. They had several to choose from. Once I picked it they offered to deliver the same day. The delivery truck actually beat me home and I didnt make any stops.

Ill be sure to never buy my appliances from here. Out of the 357 posts for upright freezers on our local craigslist, about 300+ posts are from this business alone. They have tagged freezer, stove, oven, refrigerator etc... on all appliances posted. Talk about desperate. You arent even offering anything I am looking for. Need business? Do yourself a favor and post one or two ads or go pay for advertising. Clogging up craigslist with your B.S. advertisement is unethical and scammy.

Our old refrigerator broke suddenly and we were on a budget. B&R had exactly what we needed. We love the fridge we found, saved money and it was delivered the next day. Home Depot and Lowe’s were at least a 6 week wait for delivery. Service was very helpful and friendly. They ended up sending a technician out to our home to problem solve an issue the next day and took care of things in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend!

We were looking for a down draft electric range and I found these guys and they had a few in-stock so we went to see what they had and we left with a range, refrigerator and washer and dryer (we were looking for all those just I wasnt expecting them to have all of what I needed) they gave us a great price! All the staff we worked with were amazing! We live three hours away from the store and the guys helped load the truck and did all they could to make sure it was all wrapped and secure for our ride home over the mountain! I would highly recommend this place for any all appliances. When we need new ones I will definitely be back!

Avoid them at all cost. Over priced refurbished appliances. The office and show floor are packed to capacity with refurbished out dated appliances. I found a spectacular deal right next door at Home Depo for new appliances at a lower price than their old appliances. Save yourself a headache and skip this.

I would just like to say that I have never gotten a better microwave than the one I have gotten from here. It works so well and it heats up my food just right. Customer service is just the absolute finest, the workers are so nice and helpful. What really made me fall in love with this appliance store was the prices, soo affordable. Standard TV and Appliance has washers for $250 with a warranty, no issues with inventory, and the sales and delivery people were awesome.Add said appliances start at $99, another add had a washer for $249, called and was quoted $499 for a USED top load basic washer. I asked what the $99 appliance was and told that was a microwave, then he hung up on me. Misleading advertising dont waste your time.

These guys gave us a great deal on a fridge and gas stove for our new house. They were super honest and friendly and great you work with! We had really specific specs on what we were looking for, and they helping us find exactly what we wanted. The regulator piece broke when the stove was installed (by someone else) and when my wife called to see if they could replace the part, they remembered her even several months later, and said they would try to help. Wonderful experience! Purchased a used washer in August. Unfortunately, (as can happen for unforeseen reasons when you purchase anything used), I had some issues arise with the machine. B & R went above and beyond to honor their warranty! They ended up rushing a replacement to me before the weekend just so I wouldnt be without a machine for a couple of days. Talk about going the extra mile in the name of customer service... These guys were AWESOME.Heres my story... I have an older Kenmore dryer that needed a new controller board. I found one of those finally, BUT, it was the newer Rev D (vs. A) version and it had a different, unique connector. I called everywhere looking for a way to make this work. And NaDa... Finally, one local shop I purchased from several time suggested I call B+R and MAN, was that a great lead. I called them and they searched for one, but came up empty as it really isnt the sort of thing they stock or use. I was bummer, but it seemed to be the way this was going to play out. But wait, 10mins later they called me back, said they found and old wiring harness with the connect and leads I needed !!! This was such a nice thing for them to do and ran right over to get it. This weekend, I made the modifications needed to get it installed with the new controller board and YIPPEE -- it all works!! Many thanks to my new friends @ B+R Discount Appliances !!

They were so helpful and the whole process of selecting the set was quick and painless. I researched appliance prices from both private sellers and dealers on CraigsList. B&R was very competitive. The store manager was very helpful in making a decision - listening to what I was looking for, suggesting viable options, giving me pro/con of different machines, & also helped me to research reviews on the machines as I was in the store. Most impressive was the support I needed when there was an issue with the washer door locking. The door alignment problem seemed to have happened just in the process of carrying the machine into the house. B&R sent a very competent repair man out who made sensible diagnostic assessments. The issue was touchy. It took 2 visits, but B&R proved themselves committed to doing the right thing by both replacing a latch and the washer door to get it working right. I am very thankful to B&Rs clear commitment to customer satisfaction. Their warranty is shown to be real and valuable. B&R provided Good product. Good service. Very recommended.

We have bought three of our appliances from here. They are always very knowledgeable and work with us on what we need at our price point. As for the delivery and installation services they are nothing less than outstanding! We live in a house over hundred years old so moving things in and out of the basement can be a challenge. I asked them to leave the washer and dryer outside since I didnt have the door to the basement off the hinges. They quickly got to work on setting it up for installation. Saying that he cant leave it for us to do because of the difficulty. I highly recommend them for price and especially customer service.

We came in here, there was one guy working. Your employee was nice but the prices werent that great for the items in the store. We were looking for a stove. Most of the ones in store were very expensive and they looked very beat up. The ad I had seen said 99$ and up but every stove was 500$ or more and looked like they had been dropped or scratched and a lot were missing parts. That is why I gave you a 2 star.

If you need appliances and dont have a lot of cash, this is the place to buy. I think they pick up appliances that didnt sell in bulk and then sell them at decent prices. We bought a house and still needed a bunch of appliances. We bought a counter-depth refrigerator, top-load washer, dryer and stand-up freezer for $1,300. Worth taking a look.

The guys at R&B helped me find a used dryer with the right dimensions to fit in my under stair utility closet. Delivery was prompt and courteous. Later R&B demonstrated excellent customer support when there was a problem just after the 90 day warranty, they quickly and efficiently repaired the control board and refused to take any payment. Great prices, tons of options for used and damaged new appliances. Needed a replacement break room fridge for work. They will deliver the new fridge and haul the old one away for one fee. I like that they offer a 90 day warranty on all their used products.

I have been researching washer/dryers for a few months. In the meantime, my dryer stopped turning, and washer has been leaking water, since its birth.On one hand, you could buy the most reliable, like Speed Queen, or compromise with a tiny Miele for a family of six. However, as reliable as they may be, the price tag would run somewhere around $2,000; so even if they lasted 20 years, thats still $100 a year.Unfortunately, the washer/dryer industry changed, as have appliances, as they have started using circuit boards to run their electronics, and switched over to plastic parts from metal. The reliability has tanked. Even Whirlpool, one of the last manufacturers still using mechanical parts was bought out by Maytag in 2007.Bashar and his company go to auctions, and buy models to resell. Most of his washer/dryer sets were around $400-$500.I was expecting a pushy salesman with information where the money went, but he was fairly straightforward in explaining the few differences between models.I was very overwhelmed with my service, and was not there very long. Received next day delivery for $59 including installation, and removal of old units. Its an extra $20 for each flight of stairs if youre at an apartment.

This is a wonderful small business. Kind, honest, knowledgeable workers. They gave us a great deal on two appliances and honored their warranty, no questions asked and with a smile when we thought we had an issue with our washing machine. They fixed it same day because we came from the coast. The men who repair the machines sell the machines so they know the ins and outs of their appliances. We would definitely return for future needs and reccomend this business to anyone.

So, I originally posted this company never showed up for my service or contacted me. Since that post, they did contact me to apologize and explain what happened. I had since used another company for my service, so I do not have personal experience with B&R. However, after hearing the reason why and the fact they did take the time to call me made me less upset with what happened.

Bought three appliances from B and R during summer 2013. In all ways customer service was stellar. When the new-in-the-box microhood died after about 6 weeks of light use, Bashar replaced it immediately and gracefully with a higher-end model, eliminating any hassle for me. How refreshing to work with retailers who are honest, offer genuine customer service, and stand behind their merchandise. B and R has it all.

SCAMMERS!Brought them my slightly used washer/dryer - was offered a certain sum. Walked to the cash register to pickup the money and the guy all of a sudden was short of $20. Told me to leave the appliances there, take what they had and come back on Monday to pick up the rest of the money.I just loaded up my washer/dryer back in the truck and left.Will never do business with again and will advise others as well.From the owners response: And how does this make us scammers exactly? B&R was my first stop but unfortunately they didnt have anything in my size (though they did promise to keep an eye out). I ended up having to purchase from Sears which is one of the biggest financial mistakes I have ever made.I cant stress this enough, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SEARS, EVER!!They delivered the unit then refused to install and POCKETED MY $250 INSTALLATION FEE! Their reasoning was that they would have had to disconnect my dryer to install the washer and that was against policy. Long story short after hours upon hours wasting time with their terrible customer service I went to the bank and issued a chargeback.My next stop was B&R where Bashar listened to my whole woeful tale and really empathized with me. He promised to set me up and make everything right. The very next day he had one of his guys (Ishmael) come out to my place and install it, all for a third what Sears charged. This was both on a Saturday (traditionally one of Ishmaels days off) and early in the morning but Ishmael was all smiles as he and his son installed, leveled, and tested both my washer and dryer. He even cleaned my laundry closet (!) and hauled away my busted washer for free! It was cheap, easy, and a real breath of fresh air after my Sears debacle.In summary stop at B&R Discount Appliances for any and all appliance needs, best customer service in Portland. Also Bashar, if youre reading this, give Ishmael a raise or something cause hes great!

He worked to find us products that not only fit with our budget, but also fit our needs. I really felt taken care of. No hassle or sales pitch whatsoever. When it came time to delivery we found the delivery man (Ishmael) to be very patient (he waited for us to get home) and very nice. Installation went smoothly until we came across some hurdles. The stove was too short and the counter cut out was too deep. No problem for these guys. Bashar himself came to get it installed properly and to top it off, gifted us the kick plate to nicely cover the 2-3 inch gap behind our stove in the island countertop. He did not have to seeing as it wasnt his mistake and these cost money. To say the least Bashar went above the call of duty here. Even the hurdles we faced were no problem. Easily fixed and hassle free. He gave us incredibly good deals and outstanding service. Way to go guys! You have earned our business for all our future appliance needs.

I really liked the guy we worked with. We havent bought anything yet, but well be back!
