While the shipping costs were more than what I would have expected, upon receipt I found the parts to be in excellent condition. A very good experience. I highly recommend this company.

Well I order red leather audi s5 seats from august pohl & they arrive dropped off in a palette, my facility checked the seats out in the sunlight due to their “check before signing” system packages were cut open, who would have thought they would sell you a set of seats covered in black mold? obviously not me, this is why you don’t trust junk yard online, due to things like this, so now I have black mold inside of a vehicle I am supposed to drive daily, not only for work, the grocery store, & majority of my life’s necessities but now my entire interior needs completely deep cleaned & mold removal before i can even drive it again. good job guys thank you for disclosing you will sell seats with black mold.
Very fraudulent people. Bought a rack and pinion from them for $700 and they were trying to rip me of with a $400 shipping to NY. To force me to accept their exorbitant shipping charges, they said if I arrange my own shipping and the item is damaged, they’ll not accept a return. Declined their high shipping and arranged my own shipping with FedEx, item arrived but after installation, there was noice in rack so I called Tom (sales person) and arranged a returned but because I declined they shipping, they cracked the plastic cover on the motor. Never heard from them after the delivery until about a week later after several failed attempts to reach the sales person (Tom) failed. Left a voicemail Requesting a refund only to be told in an dubious email that the rack was damaged upon return. Examination of the damage revealed a deliberate attempt to defuse a refund. Crack was about an inch or two and to only a specific portion of the plastic cover and didn’t affect any other part of the motor on the rack.Please BE CAREFUL in dealing with August Pohl.
Awful. Dont deal with these people. They dont take card. They only do wire transfers. Who does wire transfers??After I purchased an item and we agreed it would ship out, it never did because according to them, it would be an additional $25 to ship to where Im am. Why didnt they tell me that before?
They tried to pocket $2500 of my money for the parts that i purchased claiming that i paid ACH and not a wire. Half a year later was able to get my money back after District Attorney called them requesting an explanation of a business is conducted.Mike Lieberman supposedly the head of their operations is the main CON artist. Just looking through the whole stuff that i went through to get MY money back gives me chills. If you and adventurous type and love to challenge yourself, go ahed and do business with them!
Mean sales personal, didnt want to take my order just because they were closing in 20 min. Hanged up on me couple times. Not the best way of doing business, I hope he will get fired
I purchased a auto part from these guys. It came in incorrect. When I tried to address the situation, the sales person was rude and disrespectful and acted like it was my fault that my part was wrong. I ordered the same exact part from another auto parts store and it came in correct so i dont think it was my mistake.
Found some parts I needed online...I sent an email after hours and promptly got a response the next morning. Dannys attention to detail was great, these headrests I was after had blue threading...there was no way I was going to notice that by looking at the pictures they sent over. Everything worked out great and had it all shipped to Denver via FedEx ground. Thanks fellas!

I was a little nervous reading some of the reviews as an out of state buyer. However, I received top notch service. Someone always answered the phone, the price on the part was about half of what other yards wanted to charge, and the part was actually in better condition than what was described to me. They also had no problem letting someone local pick up the part for me. Great job August Pohls!
Horrible customer service and not really trustworthy, they said the wire transfer I made was an ACH even though I specifically went to the bank and executed a wire transfer. then they sell the part I was buying to another customer. Waste of time, money, and hope. Ended up buying the part elsewhere.
They didnt have the part I needed, but within about 30 seconds they found it at another used parts store. They told me the price at the other store... And proceeded to hand me THE CARD for the other store, which was a few miles out of town.I went to the other shop, got the part for the price they quoted, and that was that.August Pohl is closer than the other shop so theyre still my first choice.
Its when there is a bump in the road that you find out about a place. These guys have integrity and you cant go wrong working with them. Ill go back for any future needs.

Cant really comment on the quality or parts... emailed several times right from their website to multiple salesman. Havent been able to receive a single answer, and I was ready to buy a group of parts. I work during the day which means no time to make personal calls during their business hours.If they cant answer emails, they should take the option off the site.
I recently purchased a Transmission for my 2011 Chevy Impala from this company. When I brought the parts to my mechanic he informed me that it was the wrong torque converter. I then contacted August Pohl and was told they never even sold me the transmission. I was transferred to a man named Danny and he was very helpful, He informed me they gave me a torque converter for a Ford Pickup and said they should have the right one if I went back. I then had to drive an hour one way back to the company to get the right converter. When I arrived I waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came to assist us. They were very unorganized and the converter they had set out was again the wrong one. The man assisting us said he needed to get approval from his boss saying this was the right converter for my vehicle which is completely fine EXCEPT when I was trying to explain what Danny had told me on the phone he talked over me to another coworker and would not make eye contact with me at all and only spoke to my stepdad who only drove me there. I paid for everything, I called about the confusion and tried to figure it out and drove an hour one way for their screw up and they couldnt even show me the respect of talking to me the customer about it so I walked out. I will never do business with this company ever again! I was not impressed at all!
Excellent service, prompt shipping and easy transaction. Once the part arrived it wasnt just cut out of the vehicle but the tech took the time to unhook things properly and made for an easy swap.
Not to be trusted at all, they totally ripped me off. I paid for some parts, sent them a waybill for them because they refused to get one for me (because I am from Canada). They get the waybill, and it says seller is to pay for customs charges, I stated I would of course pay for them myself, and they were welcome to charge me in advance or preauthorize my credit card. They refused, and wouldnt send the parts unless I could get Fedex to state that buyer pays customs charges on the waybill. Fedex does not do this, I again pleaded with them to charge me in advance, it was literally $8 for the charges. Instead of doing this, they charged me a restocking fee for parts that never even left the store, and refunded me $117 when they charged my credit card $151. Absolutely scummy way to do business, I would never deal with these guys again.
Well I own a shop in Chicago area and had horrible luck with lqk keystone and others here in Chicago and so I looked on car-part and seen that they had the tailgate we are fixing gave them a call and talked to Tom who was very friendly and helpful for the most part till the problem occurred. I was a little uneasy with the wire transfer or cash only as payment and that’s where I should have listened to my gut and ended it. But I didn’t and I drove two hrs to pick it up, the tailgate they had been sitting around for almost a year and was very dirty so I cleaned it a little bit and seemed ok, I took it and drove back thinking I had a great new place for parts. But upon getting back to the shop and cleaning it throughly found that at some point the gate have been.dropped and bent the pinch weld at the bottom. I decided to call talk with Tom and the problem within hrs of picking it up and first thing he did was to blame me for it and I can understand, I’m sure they get there fair share of people trying to pull a fast one but I wasn’t that’s the part I never cleaned and couldn’t have seen in there in there poor litghed building as I explained to him and send his pics and then my pics and clearly with as dirty as it was you could not tell the damage. He then said he would talk to the owner about it. So the next day I reached out to him and they said they would do anything. I would be careful and fully inspect your parts before u leave, even make them clean it!!!! Buyer be ware!!!!! Might be the reason for wire transfer or cash policy so you don’t have anything to try to get your money back!

Terrible customer service. Stay away from Tom, maybe the other guys can help but he definitely cannot. I made an order via the phone on a Wed, faxed the paperwork. Called Friday and the part was not shipped. Emailed to avoid fax error. Email was correct and he received it. Told me it would go out the following Monday. A week later still no part. Called he said you order was lost in the shuffle. But could try and send it Monday. Asked to speak to a manager and he said they dont have managers nor an owner. I guess its just a freelance company a bunch of sales guys got together. I offered to still purchase the part and pay expedited on my dime, said they cannot do that. Look elsewhere for your parts needs.

I bought a strut assy. for my Toyota highlander Hybrid some time ago. When I received this part it was so rusted I had to throw it in the garbage but I decided to give them a second chance so now I just bought a rear hub assy. This part has a defective bearing and again all rusted. It seems as though these people dont care what they sell to people as long as they get paid. No one should ever buy anything from them. Its a disgrace.

I called and spoke with Tom regarding an engine they had for sale on eBay. The price was $2,100 plus $250 shipping. While I was on the phone, Tom was emailing his boss who is one of the owners (owned by a father and son) with my questions and while we were on the phone, his boss removed the listing stating they were not charging enough for it. It was obvious that now that he had an interested party on the line, he thought they could up charge me. They relisted the same engine for $2,760 plus $250 shipping and stated that since the new price was over their $2,500 limit to accept a PayPal payment, I would have to send them a wire or cashiers check. Note: PayPal does not limit transactions to $2,500, this is a August Auto Pohl policy, mostly so that the buyer has no protection from any junk they may sell you. Even Tom explained that he knew the owners were a couple of con artists and told me a story about how they continually rip off the Body Shop that is next door. This is your typical junk yard mentality where they treat customers like dirt and then cry about how they lost the business after 20 years. eBay confirmed they have an investigation pending, I would not buy from this bunch of frauds.

They were very rude and made me drive 2 hours from Ohio then I get there and they say they don’t have the part.1 when I was there it smelt like barn and 2 I dropped a 20 behind and I look back and the employee snatched it and denied it.Just save your self a trip and don’t go here OH AND best of all the other parts they got are pure junk.

Had all sorts of trouble locating the right instrument cluster for Chry Sebring conv with auto-stick. Had to be specific part number. Adam spent a lot of time looking though the ones they had, turned out to be less expensive than I figured. (wont tell him though).
