This is an absolutely amazing store!!! The lady at the front greeted me immediately and suggested books as well as being very friendly and kind. AND THE BOOKS THERE!!! There was the most amazing selections of political, social, race ect. theory: history in every part of the world: philosophy:fiction books. It was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t buy anything this time but I will be coming back again to purchase. Highly recommend this place !

Amazing and diverse literature, especially unique titles you wont find at more mainstream bookstores. 1 star reviews are very obviously from bigots who have never even been to the state, dog piling on to harass the store - ignore those. Good atmosphere & friendly staff who helped us find multiple specific titles. They gave us good recommendations for local events and speakers as well!

WOW - lots of hard core right wingers writing reviews it seems. youve got to check out this bookstore for yourself - people there always down for a good conversation and healthy debate about what it will take to change the world. one of the few orgs left who are talking about the need for revolution - the need to learn from past peoples revolutions and the possibility of a truly emancipated planet. plus theyve got a great selection of great fiction and non-fiction.

This bookstore is not a place for cowards. The illiterati that form the base of The Cowards party behold books as puzzling contraptions that make nice gifts for any relative that perchance owns a home. If they own a book, it will ideally have a sufficient number of pictures to obscure that pesky, confounding and annoying text. If they possessed reading ability, it would be more likely they would also possess teeth, having successfully interpreted that little clock and calendar symbol on the dental appointment reminder card... But alas!

Be careful about expressing your political beliefs around this store. Outside of the extreme Leftisf signs and such, there are generally a good selection of books and a wide range of events.

Why do commie wimps always have to vote to counter the negativity of someone elses vote? Its one voter per person, at least in the Free World, commies! But you wouldnt know that - you are too busy rigging elections. Communism sucks, and so does the scam they have going down at Revolution Books. The left always tries to push the narrative that democratic socialism is not related to communism in any way. This book store really bridges that gap. It’s a communist indoctrination center in the belly of the beast. The left wants socialism because it is a necessary precursor to communism. You’d know that if you read the type of trash they sell.

Revolution Bookstore is an awesome place. if youre a leftist or book lover of any stripe and in berkely, you should check it out.contrary to those 1 star reviews, it is the most explicitly anti bigotry store ive ever seen. the book selection is a tad sparse, but covers a variety of topics. theyve also got their ear to the ground and it is a good place to hear about local events and protests and such. plus, convenient parking overhead!

Small with a good selection of books.

So, new location calls for new reviews. Its a small, quirky, indie bookstore, but thats what you get with a book that specializes not only in Communist literature, but also with all kinds of social justice, ethnic/gender/sexuality studies, and environmental issues, among many other topics. The store is run by volunteers, and while I appreciate friendly staff at any establishment, I like to browse book selections in peace, not have people come up to me trying to strike up conversation about Mao and modern day socialism, interrupting my thoughts and relaxation time of browsing books in silence. I had to nod and go, Mm-hmm countless times, trying to give a hint that I want to be left to my introverted devices.I appreciate the fiction section, and the used book cart that sits outside the store has some sweet deals ranging $2-9. I found an old edition of Alices Adventures in Wonderland and books by Gail Tsukiyama.While this doesnt offer the wide range of books you can find at Moes down the street, or even at Barnes and Noble for a much bigger selection, this quirky, tiny bookstore is unique to Berkeley. In fact, probably one of the few establishments left in todays gentrification takeover that gives Berkeley its Beserk-eley charm.
