Love this place BUT this time around not too sure...I got my usual rainbow bagel as a BLT and I was expecting stripped bacon and instead it was basically bacon bits (very hard pieces btw) lettuce and tomato and 0 sauce or anything so the sandwich was quite dry but I won’t let that detour me from future visits I’ll need to add that sauce or dressing to my next order...very nice location and variety of items to choose from !
Not as good as they used to be. Not fresh, not chewy, just meh. The salmon spread is basically orange cream cheese with a few tiny flecks of salmon. Really disappointing and overpriced. Waste of money.
One of the best bagel spots in the DMV!The bagels are thick and chewy. They scream Almost New York! Ive tried the breakfast sandwiches, lox and cream cheese but the veggie sandwich is my favorite. I get a toasted sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, sprouts and avocado. They always generously pile on the goods, especially the avocado! Soooooo goooood!The prices are reasonable.Service is always great! During Covid19, they make ordering and picking up painless.A Bethesda staple!
Their smoked salmon on a bagel is my all time favorite. I love that you can order sandwiches during lunch on different kinds of bread. Their bagel dogs are so delicious.
There is truly no place like Bethesda Bagels. The bagels are always fresh, the schmear is always fantastic, and the people are always kind. This particular visit, I got an everything bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese and it was exactly what I needed. The bagels have the perfect amount of chew and give. One of my friends moved away from this area recently and has been trying to find a bagel that matches the standard that Bethesda Bagels sets, but she’s been unsuccessful so far. While it does speak to the area she’s now in, it also speaks to the quality of bagel you are getting at Bethesda Bagels. The bagels are worth the headache of finding parking. They are worth the hassle of driving through Bethesda. They are worth the long lines. The strategy here, as I’m told, is to buy as many bagels as you can and then freeze the ones you can’t eat right away. I’ll definitely be doing that the next time I stop through.
Our bagels were cold as they literally handed the bag of bagels to my wife. I paid for cream cheese and no cream cheese on my bagel! The Roslyn location is way more reliable.
First, thank you so much for staying open during these times! Second, wow, we definitely found our bagel spot! The portions are HUGE; the ingredients are fresh and delicious. They really dont skimp on any of the ingredients! I definitely recommend to order ahead online well in advanced as there was a lot of people waiting for orders in front of the store. Cant wait to come back and try different items on the menu!

Amazing bagel sandwich. The costumer service is friendly and helpful. Delicious coffee and bagels. Street parking or parking lot nearby is available and accessible.Tables outside for a quick bit or hang out. It’s no seating spaces inside.The benches nearby are also a pleasant option on a nice weather.Trusty me you will want to eat this bagel hot the smell won’t let you go too far.
Be sure and count before you leave (and take a receipt). They arent very good about counting. Today they short changed me -- providing 20 bagels while I paid for 26.
Love their cream cheese, a little over pricey but its worth it
This is a MUST breakfast spot!!You can tell how much daily care goes into this restaurant. The service is quick, accommodating, polite, friendly... Even at their busiest. Impressive!Delicious and fresh food. Lots of variety to choose from, savory any sweet, small bites and filling meals. Pretty good! Line was relatively long at 8:40. There was an immense bulk bagel order being handled by the only cashier on duty before my order was taken - but it allowed the folks making sandwiches to catch up LOL. Generous with the cream cheese. Bagels seem slightly underdone but Im a picky guy from the Bronx.
Good bagels on the go
I have been trying to place an online order for 30 mins and their website wont let me. I called and kindly asked if i could place a carry out order over the phone and the ladys answer was no we are very busy place it online. Let her know about the issue and she said “well we are still rwceiving orders, try again.” Asked to just kindly place my order over the phone as I work around there and my lunch break was soon, she said no they are too busy. Food is always great the the customer service here has always been TERRIBLE!!! I will take my money elsewhere.

I celebrated my birthday yesterday in this gorgeous place. Well we passed a phenomenal evening and the place was absolutely one of the reasons for that fruitful meeting. The stuff contributed in a splendid style, the cuisine was delicious and my friends were so thrilled. We shall surely return for more events. Thank you very much.
Great bagels
The good: It is a good bagel at a decent price. The bagels are similar to what you would expect at a non-DC deli.The Bad: The service is normally slow and impersonal. I have been to many delis in my day and this is the only one which is obviously focused more on being a franchise than a deli.Summary: Like many things in Bethesda, it is amazing if youre born and raised in Bethesda, pretty good if youve been living here for a while, and really off putting if youre visiting, due to its similarity to a deli but being very different from one.Also there coffee comes from one of those weird press a button and some weird coffee flavored water comes out things, you know what Im talking about.
I really want to give this place 5 stars. I’m a regular customer and eat here almost once a week. I love the food. For some reason, half the time I order something with no cheese or tofu (non-dairy) cream cheese, they give it to me anyway. I’m lactose intolerant, so that’s a huge problem and can make me sick. I would order here more if they could consistently get my order right.
The bagel joint I had been looking for for years, I live in VA but go out of my way to stop by for these authentic, delicious bagels and bagels sandwiches. Not to miss.

The line that was out the door is a testament to how good their selection of bagels and sandwiches is, and I was equally impressed with how fast they got everyone through with quality food and minimal complaints. Good local bagel place, with lots of good bagel sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. We will definitely be back.

Ive been going to Bethesda Bagels for the last 3 years and its the best bagel place in the DMV area. However, over the course of the last year, theyve gotten so many of my orders wrong that Im starting to lose trust in this establishment. Theyve given my order to another patron with a similar order number and had me waiting almost an hour for them to remake my order. Theyve given me the wrong type of bagel with my bagel sandwich. Today, I ordered a sesame bagel with bacon, egg and cheese and I got one half sesame bagel, one half onion bagel with egg, cheese and no bacon. On top of that, the scrambled eggs were dark grey on the inside, which is completely unappetizing. I really hope Bethesda Bagels gets their act together like they did 3 years ago.
They have excellent bagels and the coffee is priced right! I recommend it.
If you want a real bagel, you better go here! The bagels are fresh and chewy and they stay packed, but work fast! The lox and cream cheese is the very best!

Awesome bagels and spreads.
The bagels are good... but not better than Bagel City. I have been there many times and the line usually moves fast. Today I pre-ordered 4 bagels and arrived 15 minutes later (as indicated). After arriving, I had to wait 20 minutes to get my order. A total of 35 minutes for 4 bagel sandwiches. To me that is unacceptable.

First time being here, will not be my last...during covid, customer service and cleanliness is top priority right now, the store was clean with a nice clean smell not just the smell of food, they were all happy and smiling and very helpfuli like the safety standards they have set for the storenow to what i got...this aint dunkin or your average morning bagel with sausage egg and cheesethis thing was big and cheesy, like me 😅the sausage had FLAVOR not just a cooked circle of meat, the american cheese tasted like american cheese and not play dough and the eggs tasted good as well, they tasted like someone actually cooked them with salt and butter and actually like a person cracked the eggs and cooked themthe cinnamon raisin bagel was very good tooeverything was good, i even got a parfait which i didnt take a picture of because it was gone in 60 secondstrust me, this is the place you want to get your breakfast sandwiches if youre in the area and want a good FILLING breakfastAND THEY DO A 30% MILITARY DISCOUNT, UNBEATABLE!!!!
This place is Home. Ive tried everything from classical breakfast bagel sandwiches to confections and lunch items. Everything is superb. Their bagels taste like youre in the Bronx and made with that great NY water! Can not recommend this place enough. The owner is incredibly kind and the staff is amazing receptive. Easily earned 5/5.

This place is good when everything is right; however, as of late, Bethesda Bagels has been very disappointing. I have tried to support small business with the current covid situation, but I have been extremely disappointed the last two times I have ordered. In one instance, my order was incorrect. I called to see if the order could be corrected. The manager told me that I needed to call the delivery company I used (Uber Eats) since they did not check the order before they left even though the receipt was correct. The manager then said I could drive to their location to pick up a new, correct item, but that was and still is unsafe due to current covid numbers and the main reason why I used Uber Eats. The second instance, my order was incorrect yet again, and I also found a hair in my bagel. I would not recommend this place based on past experiences.
Absolute best bagels in the area, no questions asked. Im super picky about my bagels and was thrilled to find this place. Its popular, so often busy, but you can get in and out quickly even on the weekends. We keep a stock in the freezer but always feel at home when we go in to the shop.

Good bagels/sandwiches but a little expensive and the place has a horrible layout. From what I understand, its the original location and they do not wish to relocate so it is cramped on top of the fact Its almost always busy. Worth checking out for breakfast.

My favorite spot for a quick breakfast in the area. I cant recommend the NOVA B.L.A.T. enough as it has everything you can want on a bagel sandwich. The smoked salmon they use is absolutely delicious and paired with something like a wheat everything bagel is out of this world. Their bagel selection is fantastic as well. The lines are usually quick moving but just keep in mind this place closes early some days so be sure to check the hours prior to going too late in the day.
As someone from New Jersey I have extremely high standards for bagels and Bethesda Bagels are some of the best in the area. They also have extremely high quality lox which is from Ivy City Smokehouse.
You might need to wait a few minutes, but this is the best bagel spot in the area. They have pretty good pizza too.
Love this place! They have every kind of bagel you might want and the toppings too! They also have all kinds of yummy baked goods, drinks and snacks. People here are very friendly and attentive. The lines can get long, especially on weekends, but it moved relatively quickly!
I was very pleased with my egg everything bagels. I see why the place is always so busy. My one nit pick is that I wasnt impressed by their veggie cream cheese, but Im not having that impact my score of the bagels.

Stand-up bagel joint with benches outside. Decent bagels with many flavours. Sandwiches are also available for breakfast or lunch. Lines can be long but it moves quickly.

We were in search of good bagels. Its been a long time. While the bagels didnt blow me away like the old H&H bagels, they are very good. They have a nice crunch and chew of a New York style bagel. The sandwiches are done really well, especially the bacon egg and cheese. Its up there as one of my favorites in the area.

Pretty good bagels with great toppings, but the line here is always way too long. You can try to order ahead of time on the phone and skip the line, but this isnt a place you can just pop into as youre walking by without waiting at least 20-30 mins (somewhat optimistic) in line. They have really good fresh-squeezed juice as well.
Surprising little bagel place, has its own identity in spades and yet keeps the familiar feel of a NY bagel shop. Very creative in its sandwich composition as well.

A co-worker and I used Postmates to order a quick bite. We both got sandwiches; I got a tuna melt bagel and she got a very specific tuna salad bagel sandwich. Both of our orders were special order and Bethesda Bagels came through and didnt miss a beat! Everything was right and, more importantly, everything was delicious! I could not believe how much sandwich I got for eight bucks - super worth it. I will return! ❤️
After joining Honest Tea in Bethesda, people rave about this place and the constant morning flow shows its good. However, my sweet tooth prefers sweeter cream cheese on my bagel. I ordered the chocolate chip bagel and the only sweeter cream cheese to go with it had raisins in it (nasty!). I opted for the honey butter and it was just okay.Recommendation to Bethesda Bagel: Add in a sweeter cream cheese without raisins like honey walnut cream cheese. When you do, Ill be back!
Best bagels in the DC area. Lucky to have this in Bethesda. However, expect mediocre service, LONG lines early morning and on weekends, and frequent mess up in your order. Always check your item to make sure they packed or made the correct bagel sandwich or item your paid for.

I love bagels and I hated moving away from New York to DC where there is a dearth of bagels. Bethesda Bagels doesnt compare to placed in NY, but in DC they are definitely the best Ive tried. Very large and a good value for your money. The smears are good too. Try the olive, its my favorite. The other bread and pastry items look good too.
