Ok, previously I had professed Ceremony Coffee near the metro stop to be my #1 pick for downtown Bethesda but Clove and Cedar might have their number. Straight espresso shot, and flat white were both smooth and delicious. Wife had soy latte and gave it two thumbs up. Service was very good here and the staff were a lot of fun. Well definitely be back.

Clove and Cedar has been hands down my my favorite coffee shop since coming to the DMV area. From the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff to the delicious coffee and pastries, Clove never disappoints. I am heartbroken to hear Clove is shutting down, but hopeful to see a resurgence of the shop at another point down the line. Clove and Cedar has been such a staple in the Bethesda community and all of their staff deserves amazing accolades-- from Abhi to Anna to Reese to Helen to Wes, they make amazing coffee and an even more amazing atmosphere. A piece of Bethesda will be missed!!!

They just reopened yesterday, lucky for me. Really exceptional coffee and super lovely people.Their space inside looks so warm and inviting as well and I very much look forward to camping out here in the future. If you are in the area and want a coffee fix, give these guys love because they deserve it.

I love finally having a locally owned coffee shop in Bethesda. I typically get their cold brew and its great. Breakfast burrito is delicious. The space is great and the employees are all warm and welcoming. Im usually there with my 2 year old early on a Saturday morning and everyone there is always so sweet to him. Thank you Clove & Cedar!!!

This coffee place looked really cute so I decided to stop in. Due to covid, you order right at the door and cant go in but it is so cute. I ordered a matcha latte, and perhaps that was my bad as this is a coffee place, but it was not good. It wasnt terrible but it tasted more like matcha tea (made with water) than a latte and the quality of the matcha powder probably wasnt great as the flavor wasnt deep. It was also really weak and not hot, like the water maybe had been sitting out for a while. I would try this place again and order coffee. Dont recommend getting the matcha items.

My daughter and I walked into this family run coffeebar on a weekend and were blown away by the customer experience. The place was very inviting, warm, and had a great ambiance. The owner took time to chat and check in a couple of times while being busy with a steady stream of customers. The drinks were prepared really well.They have quite a few options from pastries and breakfast items to healthy snacks and salads. As some one, who often works from home, I tend to frequent local shops and prefer small/family owned business. It was so refreshing to see a family owned business being run with so much passion and dedication towards the customer!Ditch the chain coffee stores some time and give Clove & Cedar a try. While Bethesda coffee business seems to be at a saturation point, I feel Clove & Cedar has a very unique model of operation with its focus on customers and quality of drinks! Bethesda needs more small and family owned businesses like Clove & Cedar.

Best coffee shop in Bethesda. Has a warm but contemporary style. Third wave coffee from Maryland based Ceremony. Oat milk available. Small selection of pastries and food but good. Service is excellent and friendly.

First time visiting and I was very pleased. I like a rich cappuccino, and they did not disappoint me. Good quality, quantity and price. Also pleasant atmosphere to just relax for a few. Ill be back!

Great new cafe! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Love that they have oat milk. Cappuccino was amazing, so was the chocolate croissant! Good amount of seating too. Will definitely be back.

This is my go to coffee place in downtown Bethesda. Inviting space and super helpful staff. In addition to the usual melange of coffee options (all well prepared and presented), there are some excellent food options (pastries, great salads, and even yummy breakfast options).

The iced decaf coffee was promptly prepared (no need to wait 10 min), well-brewed, and the ambiance minimalist, charming, & vintage chic. Loved the paneled menu letter style and the bookcase. I’ve been searching these past few months for a truly authentic local non-chain coffee shop and I’ve finally found it!

I am not a coffee person...but its cold and I am sleepy so I wandered over while my wife got her hair cut. I asked the lovely baristas for a recommendation. Got a vanilla latte. It was so good, my only complaint is that I LIVE TOO FAR AWAY.

Love the quick service, friendly people, and emphasis on sustainability through compostable cups and metal straws. Plenty of seating for a relatively small place, although I have been early in the day both times I visited. I dont drink coffee so I cant comment on that, but they have a good selection of tea and their blueberry muffins are great.

The new go-to speciality coffee bar in Bethesda! I had a cold brew coffee with the price being less expensive then the nearby Phil’s. It has a perfect atmosphere for both doing work (they have free WiFi) and chatting. The staff were very friendly and were ready to answer my questions!
