Pretty bad experience here. Ordered a hot chocolate and waited like 10 minutes to find out they already had made it and its been sitting out - Even though I was standing right in front of the order counter. They absolutely did not call my name. And even after they saw me waiting didnt ask what I was waiting for. Also the hot chocolate didnt taste very good and was like warm. So ended up throwing it out. Overall terrible experience.

I just arrived from this place, i ordered an egg sausage & cheese sandwich, but this sandwich is a tiny little piece of baguette its just a scam (12 dollars) lol, there is no cheese on it, the egg & sausage is out of the bread scattered all over the bag looks like a vomit. And the price is stratospheric, I will never come back there.

Excellent french bakery, unfortunately it is temporarily closed due to Corona Virus. When they open back up be sure to try the various croissants. The almond and chocolate croissants are my favorite. Cappuccinos and lattes are also very good, but smaller in case you are expecting something like a Starbucks Venti coffee. Very convenient location right downtown Bethesda. Looking forward to when they reopen.

I am really surprised to see the bad reviews.I had been going to the one in Tysons for years until they opened up the one over here - and when they did I WAS ESTATIC. I love Pauls, it hits a soft spot for me. When I went to Paris, they were on every block like Starbucks is here - and I loved it there as much as I love it here.I will say, I am not crazy about their coffee. But their croissants and sandwiches are delicious. My fiancé and I are both big fans. The service is alright. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for.The atmosphere is cozy and yes the seats arent that comfortable but its not a place to hang out for hours. You are in and out. And it is limited seating.

We like the French atmosphere at Paul, the smell of pastries and bread being baked in front of our eyes in a very clean and healthy way. The only issue we have here is that when we come early morning, we are served with pastries from previous day and the new series are being baked for people arriving 9am afterwards, perhaps. Anyhow we like the pastries here a lot and coffee. The combo lunch (get your card punched) and complete breakfast is a great deal and easily enough for two.

Paul is average. It is a franchise so the food quality is okay. They should update their website. According to the website they are opened until 9 pm on Saturday. We arrived there around 7pm, the young lady who took our order told us that it had to be to go because they were closing in 20 minutes. She asked her manager who reluctantly said it has to be a take out order. I told her that we were with the grand parents and it would be nice if we could sit. She was understanding. I also showed her the website and she said that they had just changed the hours. Perhaps management should think of these things. There were more people coming in after us.

Surprisingly, Paul is one of the only coffee shops/bakeries near Bethesda Row. Cute fast food French style restaurant The behind the counter staff is really unorganized, and I guess the guy who is the Manager was a bit rude and suffered from colorism because I ordered a very simple iced coffee only to watch everyone else get served before me (I am talking about people who even put their order in after me). If you are of color....you know what this looks like. Other than that, its a cute fast food cafe. Service is not worth the headache on a Saturday morning.

Some of the staffer have no knowledge of the menu which can get confusing and frustrating.Tip: always keep a smiling face and pay close attention on the client request ( orders) learn your MENU. Update the price on the upper board so it match the price on your cash register. I had great experience with a few staffer so that’s what I am rating 3 stars.

Best croissants in DC area. Authentic and buttery like a true Parisian croissant, but don’t expect exactly the same taste. The water and humidity here doesn’t allow for the same quality products!I get coffee from here almost every morning. They use Lavazza, one of my favorite coffee brands. Service is always slow, so be prepared to wait awhile in line, even if there are only a couple people in front of you. Inside is always packed, especially on the weekends. Try to snag an outside table if the weather is nice. However, beware of the pigeon feces on the chairs and also the birds hopping on your table to try to eat the crumbs. 5 stars for food, but 3 stars for the slow service and poorly maintained tables and chairs.
