I’ve been returning to this place at least twice a week for the last six weeks or so. Really love their paella. The fish is of great quality too. The staff always give me a family-like welcome every time.

If you want to get sick go for tuna poke.Update following the response of the owner (no idea why i have to do this here). I happened yesterday, Sunday afternoon. We bought tuna poke, seafood paella and seafood salad. Both of us got really sick (and are still sick).

Having grown up with Spanish cuisine and having cooked paellas, ourselves, i can definitely say we were completely disappointed and floored by the quality of the food prepared for us. Last week I decided to cater my husbands birthday sunday dinner celebration on 3/21/21 with Pescadeli because we had for years enjoyed A&H food (Alfonso and Herminios original business bought out by Santi and renamed Pescadeli). For appetizers I ordered croquetas de bacalao (cod) that had no cod taste, whatsoever,, and the jamón serrano croquetas were too salty but, luckily, the beef and the chicken empanadillas were tasty and saved the first course. Then came the Paella Bogavante (lobster and seafood) with ample seafood but the rice was more like a dish of sticky rice rather than a grainy and fluffy one. I had talked to Isaías, the chef, the previous day and he indicated that he would be cooking it but would be gone by the time I picked up so I would not see him. When I got to the store, I was told that he did not work on sundays so someone else was cooking the paella. Pescadeli not only did not live up to its reputation but, much to my regret, I paid nearly $200 to celebrate an important occasion with a meal that could not be savored and enjoyed.

Absolutely chaotic. 6 ppl at a time is supposed to be how they follow the covid guidelines. There were at least 15 ppl on the store. The customer service? Meh... But $34 for a whole of fish? It better be the best fish ever for that price!. Post Edit.... It was a great piece of fish!

Great place for Spanish goodies. Everything from tortas to jamon, fresh fish & Chupa Chups. Its at the end of the pedestrian area of downtown Bethesda & can be frustrating to get to if youre driving, but its worth the effort if youre a fan of authentic Spanish items that are hard to find elsewhere. There are two sides to the store, facing each other from across the street.

As a wholesaler and, now, retailer of fish and meats and cheese, Pescadellis provides the selection, quality and freshness ingredients when shopping in neighborhood food stores during my time in Europe. Ive exclusively shopped there for more than a decade before the younger generation expanded the retail footprint and available selection of freshly prepared foods.

Great place for fresh seafood and many Spanish products. If you love paella, they make the best in the area. Or, you can get everything you need to make your own at home. The owners and staff are very nice and helpful. The store is small, but dont let that fool you. They have a nice selection of products at a reasonable price for the quality. Very clean. Dont miss its sister store across the street - Butchers Alley. Wide selection of great cheeses. This is where we buy our prosciutto, jamon serrano, chorizo, and other meats.

I popped in for a visit today after learning from the Butchers Alley staff that these two establishments are under the same ownership. Quite pleased that Bethesda proper now has a quality meat market, I was hoping that Pescadeli would also be a step up from the ordinary. When asked if they carry “organic” salmon, I was chagrined to discover that their farm raised salmon varieties were not organic. I mentioned to the counter man that I know of three vendors within the vicinity that do carry organic salmon (Balducci’s, Wagshals, and the seafood vendor at Bethesda Sunday Farmers Market). He seemed a bit nonplussed at my comments. I hope that this omission
