Good tea, the boss was screaming at the person making our tea the entire time. Scared me and my friends. We just wanted boba, not to hear the boss screaming at someone for touching the base
Do not come here. If you want Class 520 this location is not the one to go to. Staff isn’t great at rolling ice cream, visually unappealing, and there is very little topping options and the toppings I received were hard and old. My friend and I also had ordered first but instead they made the ice cream for people after us first. It took over 20 mins and us asking just for our ice cream to be made. Do not waste your time going here.
It is my fault for going at 8 pm on a Sunday. It took 57 minutes for the worker to make 4 rolled ice creams. She stopped making our order to fill tea orders. The air conditioning was not working and the worker was nice, but inexperienced. I drove 45 minutes get my first rolled ice cream for my daughter’s birthday. It may be better in the daytime but I will never go back again. The dirty spoons, utensils, the visible black banana were all bad omens—- but I drove so far.
I worked there for a solid two months and it was nothing other than absolute bs. From the beginning, me and my coworkers were not only underpaid, but refused lunch breaks and treated like actual servants. My boss, Annie often told us to Use our brains and when I went to get my first paycheck I was given less than half of what I was owed because the rest was practice days and training. It is extremely disgusting and nothing other than unsanitary. The vanilla base smells like curdled milk, the fruits are expired, and everything is just overall rotten. After working there, I will 100% never be buying ANYTHING from there. Annie is unjust, an awful employer, and literally labors underage children for long hours with extremely low pay. Mind you, I am 14 years old.
Really bad bubble tea - giving a 2 star with the cream being good. Don’t get bubble tea here - for $6 it is a rip off - the boba tasted really old and bad. I saw other reviews when I was trying to make mine - should have checked beforechanged it to a 1 star - ice cream wasn’t good either - shouldn’t have gone there 😞
What other reviews say about the boba is true. The pearls themselves weren’t sweet, they tasted kind of old, and some were much harder than others. There was supposed to be aloe in my drink, and there was close to none. Reasonable service, though. I finished it, cause why waste a boba drink? But it wasn’t very enjoyable.
One of the worst ice cream experiences I have had. My friend and I visited about 3 weeks ago and not only was the person helping us rude the ice cream was frost bit and not good. I ended up eating 1/2 of it and throwing away the rest. We waited about 20 mins for the ice cream to be served. There were only 4 customers in the store at the time. I would not recommend this place.
I didnt like the way my tapioca pearls were clumped together like a tumor at the bottom of my sub-standard green tea. I tried to get a refund, but the extremely helpful kid behind the counter was unable to convince his boss that I needed one. All his boss offered was a replacement drink. Who doesnt offer refunds? I shouldve gone to Kung Fu Tea instead. Why take chances?
Massively disappointed. My son and I came in to get some boba. We were very excited and it looked promising. However the tea was old. It lacked flavor. After a couple sips we threw it away. We wasted 13 dollars. Also, the shop had a weird musty smell. Definitely not coming back unfortunately.
This is a great place with unique way of making ice cream Thai style. Their staff is very polite and helpful with some great ice cream making skills. The ambience is good as well with some really cute wall arts. Most importantly their ice creams taste really good and fresh and not overly sweet. We loved the mad mango, monkey business, and morning latte flavors. We will definitely be trying their teas next time. Highly recommended!
I would give a lower review but I believe that small business should get another chance. Most of the workers here are super kind and polite. I had a terrible experience while ordering a simple boba drink. I don’t know the workers name, but they had a tacky diamond ear piercing and curly hair that looked like a rats nest. He looked and smelled like he did not shower for at least 3 months, which I know is defense a health code violation. With that being said, he got my order wrong. Once I returned it and told him how he got it wrong, he gave me a whole bunch of attitude over something so small. The worker created a huge commotion in the middle of the store when I asked for a refund. If you order here, AVOID THAT WORKER!!
So yummy, best fresh ice cream in the area. Friendly staff and such unique flavors!
Cute little shop. Nice customer service, but wasted $12 on what tasted like tap water...
Used to love coming here. Now, this place is an absolute disgrace. The old toppings give out a musky smell. Did you know the same bucket for the rolled ice cream is used for storing pots?
The guy who was working was very nice and pleasant to talk to. Our ice cream and boba drink were sub par though. The drink was really sweet and had a pungent scent of passionfruit that had gone bad. The ice cream was prepared well but was not that well flavored. There were also flies all around the sweets in here, which was disgusting.
This was the worst ice cream experience Ive ever had. So bad, I paid for ice cream and walked out with nothing. Also, why call it key lime pie when its just graham crackers, salt, and caramel? NO LIME! False advertising and horrible customer service.
Worst place worse employees very bad attitude bad food . Don’t waste your time and money .
I would give this place a 0 star rating but I dont get that option lol. This place is not worth the stop... We had gotten boba and ice cream - neither of them were worth the price or half-hour we waited. There was only one woman working there, but she was too distracted by making the ice cream pretty to notice that she had at least 10 impatient people waiting for their orders.I ordered the coconut milk tea, but every sip of it tasted like rotten eggs and the boba was too warm. I had to plug my nose and finish off the drink like that. I am very disappointed in this place.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. We had two different ice creams, neither had flavor and they crumbled at the touch. We got condensed milk on both which was most definitely spoiled. The boy working at the counter basically told us not to get a topping while the owner tried to push it. We went back to talk to the owner and try to get our money back her excuse for the no flavored product was that the store was “low fat and low sugar” and when I said that needs to be posted somewhere she then changed to say the no flavor was because I got a berry topped ice cream. She also refused our refund, we ended up tossing it out in front of her and leaving the store. Don’t waste your time here, make the drive to Rockville. It’s a million times better.Edit: we’ve been gone for 20 minutes and can still taste the spoiled milk.
If you want the most stale bubbles, the rude lady who didn’t care to wear a mask in the first 6 months of COVID and who yelled at my kid for “not ordering earlier”- whatever that means- sure! Give it a try?
Very disappointed with the service and I found hair. TERRIBLE customer service!!! The staff does not wear gloves or hair cover. They refused to refund my money and the remake of the ice-cream was different in size and taste.
When class 520 opened, it was the best boba you could find in the metro area; however, now a year later, it doesnt seem to know what to do. The boba is sub par, and there are no slushies. Recently they added tables to the small venue, and turned many of their ice cream makers into a stand for snacks. The one thing they do do well is teriyaki ice cream which is both tasty and unique.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!! I found hair embedded inside my Ice cream cup before I even left the store and the staff did mot even apologize and had the AUDACITY to tell me the hair is not theirs!! Very hesitant to remake my order & the female staff actually rollerd her eyes on me & kept on talking in their own language. And then, when I asked for the manager’s phone number I was given a fake number, that’s not even in service!!!
I came here twice and asked for the same thing: the light bulb tea special but for some reason they didn’t understand the difference between the special and regular drink and when I tried to correct one he brushed it off…def not going back lol
The restaurant is very dirty and smells very bad PLEASE do not buy there since the bubba is disgusting and has been there for many days. There is also an Asian woman who when you are there acts indifferent and makes you wait
I’ve been here so many and loved the roll Icecream but the past 2 visits were bad. The chunks used as ingredients were not smashed properly and the rolled Ice cream tastes worst.. and before that it was not made properly and tasted super bad .
Poor customer service. Boba bubbles looked hella old. Dont go.
Really bad customer service. My friends and I were waiting for our turn for like 30 min for the Chinese lady to take our order and we were in front of her and she just skipped us like whatever and started taking someone else’s order.Rockville location is way so much betterrrr than this one. Don’t go here, please.
We found a disgusting bug in our drink. Went to talk to the owner and she said it was our fault for not drinking it fast enough. What??????? That doesn’t even make sense???? Didn’t offer us a refund or anything. I heard there was an owner change. This is unacceptable. Do not come here! So gross! Also. The ice cream didn’t even roll like it should. All fell into small chunks. And they explained it’s the machine’s fault? Um hello you need to fix the machines then. The machine is your sole business! Why should we pay over $7 for a bowl of ice chunks? As for the disgusting drink, the bubbles tasted like hard rocks. So gross. Everything was terrible.Maybe when it first opened it was good. But now it’s a disaster. Save yourselves and do not come here.
Visited this establishment last night, walked in around 9:45 . Two patrons seated while one worker was rolling the ice cream, no greeting . I approached the worker and asked what time do you guys close, she said 10 my response “perfect Because I want to order “ She then looks up and says this is the last one I’m doing because we close at 10 & I need to clean up .So I just looked at the worker because she knew,& I said so your not going to serve me because you have to clean up ... then with heavy breath she ask’s what would you like ?, I declined and left the establishment! During this climate it’s hard to believe that the color of my skin didn’t play a roll in the worker turning me away ! The two customers in the building seem to be Caucasian teens . And I’m leaving it at that, Bethesda recently has really showed their true colors ..... I will not be returning to this establishment that I frequent weekly !!
Could not make standard menu rolled ice cream properly. Turned out to be broken pieces and inedible due to stale toppings. Will not try again or recommend.
Poor customer service, was waiting for 30 minutes and wasn’t helped. The server decided to help someone who came after us while we waited our turn.
I would have given this place 4 stars on a regular day. Today I will give them 1 star. The employees are not wearing masks (only 1 was wearing mask but it was covering the mouth only), gloves seem to be an after thought. One of the employees was refilling the toppings and was touching the fruits with his bare hands (not acceptable on a normal day and definitely not during COVID-19 times!)
Over all everything i ordered turned out the way i asked. but due to the pandemic i believe they are not taking correct precautions. for starters it had a terrible smell, and i will give them the benefit of the doubt as there was a plumber there and the toilet was clogged. but i went there 2 weeks ago (didn’t order) the smell was there. the staff from what i noticed didn’t switch gloves between consumers and didn’t wipe now the surface they make the rolls with between consumers. they also between consumers didn’t clean the cups they used to poor the ice cream. for toppings there were flys all around the food and no lids or anything on the toppings. in the end i did not feel completely safe in the restaurant.
Amazing drinks with creative ice cream as well as great service I would recommend to anyone under 30 or who knows what overwatch is
I ordered milk tea at the end of the day and my drink smelled like rotten eggs. I asked if she could remake it since it tasted like it was spoiled but the person working insisted it was fresh so i didn’t push it. Overall, just avoid going here lol :)
This is the worst place ever for a boba tea!Don’t go there !I got a boba tea for each of my kids and the smell of each of them was like a rotten egg!! As we went back to complain there were more customers complaining about the same issue! The owner of the place told us that she couldn’t give us a refund and there was nothing to do.We left without the tea and we lost our money. The owner of the place was very very rude and she was not wearing a mask until another customer pointed out she went to get one.Such a terrible place, I don’t recommend it ! If I could give 0 star I will do it.Such a bad service!
Nice establishment! Great service!
Wonderful place better will come more
The flavors and ice cream is super cool. I love the kawaii decor, and the whole vibe inside the shop. However, there have been multiple times where the bubbles in the tea I got were not a fresh batch. This is extremely annoying and makes me not want to drink the tea. Also many times I have had to wait a long time for my tea since they were making a new batch of boba, which is frustrating. Overall they’re just okay. Service is kind of bad, but if you get fresh bubbles it’s great. Hit or miss pretty much.
The lady at the cashier seemed oblivious to us. First she wasn’t wearing a face mask, second we paid for an ice cream and she “forgot about us” after serving 2 people who had payed after us. Lastly, she was Rolling up our ice cream with her gloves, as if she was rolling a joint. I waited 25 minutes on a non busy day for a disgusting ice cream. I simply threw it away . Never coming back.
Staff gave our order to someone else, then proceeded to prepare our order a 2nd time without a mask. She (a manager) apologized, then asked a staff member who was wearing a mask to make our order yet a 3rd time.It took nearly 30 min for us to receive ice cream.Apparently the owners arent overly concerned about following COVID-19 regulations regarding food preparation....
Very interesting flavors and unique place for a sweet treat/drink in downtown Bethesda. Friendly, diligent, and quick service. I will come back im glad I stopped in!
Too slow or Id add at least a star. The staff is nice and working very hard but the owner needs to have more people behind the counter. Bubble tea was very good. I didnt have the ice cream but my family said it was just ok. Really small inside.
Amazing ice cream! I love the unique texture and the thin ice cream curls! Ladies behind the counter were super nice and sweet! Definitely recommend, though this is slightly pricey!
Cute little shop, with a unique menu. The shop is a bit small, but well decorated. Its fun to watch their process of making rolled ice cream. Its a nice place to stop by for a quick dessert or for a refreshing bubble tea.
Cute shop, nice amount-- they give 1 mix-in and 3 toppings, plus 1 sauce topping, all for one order. The price is quite frankly ridiculous-- youll pay 7.25. This could have been a one-off, but when I went neither mine nor my partners ice creams really lived up to the rolled ice cream aesthetic (isnt that what we paid so much for?). Our ice creams pretty much became a blob/looked like normal ice cream after a few minutes of melting.
Ordered online 35 minutes before they closed and then they were closed before the dasher got there. Stop accepting ordered if you are going to be closed unprofessional
Omg. Took a sip of the milk tea and it was terrible. Worst bubble tea Ive ever tasted. Bland- no flavor, sweetness, watered down... cant believe I paid money for this. The owner needs to taste this before charging any money for this. I dont review places that often, but I just had to for this place. Dont waste money here.
Very cool how they make a single serving of rolled ice cream right in front of you
Sad, adequate teriyaki ice cream place in downtown Bethesda. On our last visit (a Saturday night in the fall), they were out of chocolate syrup (necessary to make some flavors) and there were no other customers. Service was friendly, and the ice cream (sans chocolate) was fine. The wall above the limited seating area appears to be a place for insecure people to ask others to follow their TikToks. All in all, its fine, and we may return. But its not worth a special trip.
The worker didn’t know what she was doing, she didn’t make the tea right. And the boba was stuck together and didn’t give me a lid
From my kids (8&5): The ice cream is really good. They roll it up, choosing one of their preset mixes or choose your own combo. Then you get to pick three toppings and a drizzle.
Its ice cream but its different and thats a good thing. They have a great selection to choose from and everything is made to order which is funny when we talk about ice cream but it makes sense because it should be fresh. Ill be going back to try some more combinations and flavors.
Went to get some Thai Milk tea with bubbles and it was the WORST! They should take it off the menu!
First time trying rolled ice cream and I ordered the Mad Mango and it was really good!!! I definitely recommend this place :)
Class 520s Tepanyaki ice cream is a favorite stop in Bethesda. If we are in Bethesda, we will stop here, for sure!
This place is absolutely disgusting I went with my family to get some bubble tea and what we got was not worth it when we opened it the car was exploded with this unbearable smell it smelled like sulfur and rotten eggs and when we looked at the tapioca pearls it appeared to be moldy with white stuff hanging off of it and when we complained to the manager about it she was really rude and refused to give us a refund overall this place is gross please dont go here.
I took Ki Ki Choo to dessert after Lukes Lobster and we shared each others Oreos Secret and Reeces Blast. We enjoyed both the ambiance and friendly service from the owner and the staff. Great experience and highly recommend.
I’ve went to the place a few times - primarily in the summer and it was perfectly fine. I recently went & it just was a sub par experience. The girl with the red hair was on her phone when we came in & did not acknowledge us until it was time to order (we were the only ones in the place). She was so dry to the questions we had - it was just completely rude. Our milk teas both had undercooked boba, that we had to spit out on our way home like seeds. It was a flop & I was so excited to bring my fiancé there. All we got was an attitude & hard boba. Not the best experience 😕
On top of the nice people working there, the ice cream was delicious and it was literally beautiful! Also, just the process of watching them make the ice cream was amazing; it reminds you that things in life aren’t about the outcome (although the final product was delicous) but instead, the journey.
Amazing ice cream and drinks. Fascinating to watch them make. Prices are on the higher end, but so is everything else in this area.
THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND NASTY. DO NOT EAT HERE, THE OWNER IS VERY NASTY. MY ICE CREAM DROPPED ON THE FLOOR AND SHE PICKED IT UP ANS SERVED IT TO ME!. THEY REUSE DIRTY GLOVES THEY. WASH DISHES WITH TO TOUCH YOUR ICE CREAM! THE BOBA IS SO DIRTY AND TASTELESS FOR $5. DO NOT EAT HERE. THE EMPLOYEES SAID DONT GET THE BOBA BECAUSE THEY GET IT FROM THE SINK. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I ALSO THE LITTLE BLONDE GIRL IS SO NASTY, SHE EATS OFF THE FLOOR AND COUNTER SHE IS ALSO RUDE. THE SHORT ASAIN LADY SPIT IN MY ICE CREAM. *DO NOT GET FOOD HERE*
Fun place. Ice cream is stir-fried on a very cold plate. Super friendly service earned the fifth star.
Super delicious ice creams and friendly staff at this dessert spot near Bethesda Row. Lots of Overwatch and other video games themed stuff and boba served in light bulb shaped bottles that you can take home. That last bit was kinda weird but kinda cool. Now its laying in my brothers apartment where no one will probably ever use it again. Go with taro everything.
Ice Cream Spring Rolls? Sushi? Crepes? Fun to watch the creation; delicious to taste the creation. Happy staff round out a great experience. Go! Try!
First!
Really tasty ice cream. I got the peanut butter one. It is super expensive though.
This was a most unique ice cream experience! The prep was a performance and taste just divine.
Great product but this business is severely understaffed. I feel sorry that their boss is not understanding the potential business of this place. They need to double their staff. Poor overworked workers!
After going to Singapore and having Thai-style rolled ice cream for the first time, I was excited to find this place near me and took my fiancee here. I got the Matcha ice cream with oreo and added m&m and cone pieces (up to 3 toppings are free). After I ordered, I saw someone get the blow-torch marshmallow topping, wish I knew it was one of the free toppings! While the presentation was great and it was really fun to watch the ice cream get flattened out and then rolled up, I wasnt impressed with the taste. After taking a handful of bites, I kept searching for the perfect bite even with the m&ms and cone pieces. The ice cream just wasnt that flavorful. Class 520 is fun to try especially if you have never had rolled ice cream before. After having it in Singapore, its hard to make a comparison.
Disgusting and slow and mean.the employee dont change her glove. after dishwash and after touching her phone. the other guy knows i was waiting for long and not making until i was mad and cancel my order.owner changed? price increased and ingredient less
Got the green tea and strawberry. It was really good and a fun experience.
Definitely did not understand a word that we ordered. When we asked how ordering worked, we got a blank look.
Love the ice cream. Not too sweet and very yummy.
Awesome ice cream, Very clean with a pleasant atmosphere, creative drinks, overall an awesome place to go.
So much fun so many flavors and such great service!
Incredible ice cream, definitely try it out
I got the thai-tanice 3 mins before work and made it on time and still ate it all! Soooo delish
A little pricey but very good
It wasnt overly sweet. My rolls were all smushed together in the cup.
Awesome food great employee
Delicious ice cream, funky fresh vibe
Great ice cream, great designs, great service!
Shirley is thee Best Ice Cream Maker.........Hands Down 🤗
