I have been to Sarahs Homemade Ice Cream before. It is one of my tried and true neighborhood haunts. I love the flavors that they showcase, which is a savvy mix of tried-and-true classical and popular confections, like Cookies and Cream(they use Oreos), or Creamy Butter Pecan, but also less conventional flavors, like Honey and Lavender, or Cuban Mojito. That means families can go and enjoy adventuresome ice creams as well classical flavors. This time, I chose a scoop of Orange Creamcicle, which perfectly reproduced the colors, textures and perfume of that childhood favorite. I walked around the store, and discovered that they have a space with childrens books that can be purchased, with the proceeds benefitting a childrens medical non-profit. I thought that was utterly charming! The service was organized, friendly and totally engaging. Both servers were smiling and interacting with the clients (the store was somewhat busy when I visited). I was so excited by the multiple flavors that I ordered a second cup with two flavors I thought were (sort of) complementary: Key Lime Pie and Cuban Mojito. The flavors were on point! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, Sarahs products, and the excellent service that I received, but that I also saw being given to other customers.

I couldn’t say enough good things about Sarah’s Handmade Ice Cream!A family owned ice cream shop whose commitment to quality ingredients and flavors is evident. I can’t wait to try more! The employees are so kind and accommodating. I tried the lavender honey ice cream and it was delicious! Most ice cream shops use lavender syrup, but Sarah has a special recipe that uses ground lavender to get that perfect subtle lavender flavor naturally.

Sarahs Handmade Ice Cream is amazing! Great ice cream selection, friendly service, and a convenient location. Ive been a regular since this storefront opened, and I enjoy trying their seasonal flavors in addition to my usual favorites. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area!

It is 6 scoops for $13.Top - Blueberry Swirl, White Chocolate, Key Lime Key West.Bottom - Creamsicle, Lavender Honey, Lemon Poppyseed.Blueberry Swirl - okay, we both would have preferred a more vibrant blueberry flavor.White Chocolate - it contains pretzels, I liked it better than I thought. My partner did not care for it.Key Lime - contains graham crust, the perfect amount. Ill say it needed more lime, but Ill be having it again no matter. We both liked it.Creamsicle - it was okay, the Key Lime was just my favorite by far and ruined my taste buds being fair. I liked, partner says meh.Lavender Honey - I said meh, not my idea to order. Partner will always try this flavor and she loved it.Lemon Poppyseed - I thought the poppyseeds were not right for the combination, the gritty mouthful after. She was hoping for more lemony taste.I love a Dark n Stormy so I need to try that ice cream and Ill find five other flavors to go with it.At end of the day, will return for different flavors and appreciation for the ice cream maker willing to make new flavors.

Pretty good. I do wish they had cookie dough as a topping, and it’s pretty pricey. But, we’re glad it’s open since Covid shut down the Sweet Frog we used to go to. Nice service. They have whipped cream which is a plus for us.

Sophia has some feedback: the sprinkles in the cotton candy flavor are different than the sprinkles and the party cake flavor. She says that the sprinkles in the cotton candy are not as good as the sprinkles in the party cake. She wishes that she had gotten party cake this time instead!

Sarah makes the best ice cream. She formulates all the flavors and names. She is a natural chemist. Just come in for one of her many many inventive flavors. She carries the most flavors I have ever seen more than one. Peanut Butter and Chocolate are my favorite flavors. But she even has many different kinds of chocolates. And dont forget all the different cones, cakes, and other items. Just watch the enjoyments on all the customers faces (and the ice cream all over the kids faces). She even has some sugar free soft serve for those that have restriction.

Lots of flavors depending on the time of the year. Plenty of offerings: Thai tea, lavender, and espresso are some of our favorites. There is also a reward program. I don’t recall the details but we have received free ice cream since it’s inception, on account of frequency. Great location with ample parking.The only caveat is - the service is rushed occasionally. Chill.

This place is amazing! We stopped in for the first time tonight and got the Oreo Lover/Peanut Butter Fudge ice cream. It was the best ice cream we’ve had in a long long time. The staff were super friendly and were excited to come back and try more flavors!

Delicious ice cream with 20+ flavors many Ive never seen before. The quality is top-notch like a creamery as the ice cream doesnt melt right away. While the shop doesnt give out samples due to Covid, you can get a split scoop. I was torn between 2 flavors and glad I got the split scoop!The Cookies and Cream is hands-down my favorite and bursting with flavor from chunks of Oreos as the base rather than Vanilla ice cream. The Coffee Oreo is unique has a bold coffee flavor with large chunks of Oreos and tastes like a Mocha. The split scoop was perfect, the 2 flavors paired really well together. I was tempted to get chocolatey Brownie flavor and Party Cake - next time!Note there are no waffle cones or toppings. As the ice cream is so rich and delicious on its own filled with Oreos or sprinkles, you dont need to add extras - the simple cup is perfect.Love the new centralized location in Wildwood Shopping Plaza in Bethesda! The shop is next door to many restaurants, great spot to grab some dessert. Will def come back!

Best ice cream in this area and definitively one of the best in the DMV. You cant go wrong with any of the flavors, but some of our favorites are cotton candy, sea salt caramel, oreo cookies and espresso. The service is also very good, elevating this place even more.

Don’t get me wrong- This place is cute. The staff are adorable... But the ice cream.... the ice cream is honestly underwhelming. I was super surprised to find this place with such high ratings when the flavor is not much more than just pleasant sweetness. No richness, no depth, nothing that melts on your tongue and screams “taste how incredible I am!!” like quality ice cream (especially at this price) should. We tried the Cinnamon Bun, Lemon Poppyseed, Espresso, and Almond Coconut Brownie flavors. They were all ever so slightly below average. That’s why I’m giving this place a 2- below average. This is not a place I’ll think of returning to, especially when there are so many other more delicious ice cream options in the area. If you’re debating trying it- give it a go- but don’t say I didn’t tell ya so!

Was in the shopping center to pick up stuff for dinner when my fiance texted me to ask for desert, too. A quick Google told me there was an ice cream shop so I stopped in for a couple of different pints and... Oh man, this is the best ice cream Ive ever had in my life. I even decided to share some with her to prove it, but I was sorely tempted to keep it all to myself!

I couldn’t be more obsessed with Sarah’s!! If the sheer amount of unique flavors they have isn’t enticing enough the actual quality of each and every ice cream will throw you over the edge. Top that with the most inviting staff and incredible management, this really is a one of a kind ice cream experience. I will be a frequent customer!

Not only does Sarah’s have amazing classic flavors but also unique flavors such as Orange Chocolate Chip if you’re looking to try something new. Always an excellent place to go! Over 40 flavors (all handmade) good ice cream, great milkshakes etc etc. Staff is always accomadating and Im sure if they didnt have masks on we would see them smiling. ☺

I just went here for the first time tonight and was happy with ALL FOUR pints! I got mint chocolate chip, gimme smores, really strawberry and they threw in the Santas Gingerbread for free (IF YOU ALL SOLD THAT FLAVOR, I WOULD BUY THEM AS GIFTS IT WAS SO DANG GOOD!) I adored each flavor experience and will definitely be frequenting this spot!

Huge variety of homemade ice cream. I had the White Russian and my husband had the Creamy Butter Pecan and Bailey’s Irish Cream. All 3 were very good!

DELCIOUS. A wee bit pricey but with good ice cream like this, Im OK with that. Had their Baileys, Earl Grey, and Lavender Honey ice creams as a triple scoop and loved all of them. They have quite an extensive menu, so Im glad theyve got staff that happily recommend a number of stellar favorites, and the best seller too, if youre into that oreo.

Sarah’s Handmade is my go-to spot for ice cream in the DMV. The excellent quality of ingredients and the love that goes into making the ice cream are apparent. Customer service here is top notch too- staff members are highly knowledgeable and welcoming. Earl Grey Speculoos, Thai Iced Tea and Pistachio are my top 3 favorite flavors but you honestly can’t go wrong. It’s probably for the best I don’t live close by or I’d eat this ice cream almost every day! 😅

Hands down best ice cream I’ve ever tried. Especially the vegan ones- recipes are spot on with the oat milk. Same great quality as the original store.

It’s not even fair how good this ice cream is. Get them while they’re still a local mom and pop shop. They’re about to blow up. Try the Key Lime Pie or the Party Cake flavors. Be careful tho. I purposely get single servings and not pints because I know I won’t be able to stop gorging.

I met the owner Sarah while I was there today. The best customer service, quality, and flavor options, all while following social distancing protocol. The pistachio is my absolute favorite.
