Cute spot. The ice cream was very good. They had the standard flavors along with signature ones, like banana pudding. Closing time is 10PM which is great👍

Really liked the ice cream, but the further I got through it the more I realized just how intensely sweet it was. Could tone it dowm on the sugar just a little bit🤏. Also the prices felt really expensive even for a single scoop. Bit I did like their flavors and overall it wasnt bad.

They have 1 dairy free option (raspberry sorbet) at the time we visited, so we didnt have to go elsewhere, and it tasted great. They have a superb chocolate truffles selection too. Half their shop includes a fun stationary, gifts & greeting cards shop. Staff were wearing masks, but customers were not asked to.

Good ice cream. The way people wait in line to order and then order their food and keep social distancing is not acceptable. Also credit card signing with a shared pen is a terrible customer experience.

We love their ice cream flavors and gourmet chocolates! On the other side of the shop are cute cards, jewelry, candles and Hokie/Blacksburg gifts. This shop is such a great addition to our small town. You must stop by if you are in Blacksburg! :)

Kalley at Sugar Magnolia went above and beyond to make my daughter’s birthday extra special. I made the mistake of using GrubHub for the delivery and they did not deliver what was ordered or willing to wait for a phone call to fix the order. In my opinion, a true test of a business is when something less than ideal happens and they truly want to make it right. This is exactly what Kalley did and I will make a point to patron Sugar Magnolia on every visit to Tech. Sugar Magnolia’s is a business I am proud to support and the tremendous effort was made to correct a mistake that was not even theirs but GrubHub. Many, many thanks! Go Hokies!!

Staff very friendly. But- all the ice cream contained corn syrup. Even the sorbet. Really? Not one natural option with all the health conscious people in our area? And the food is expensive! 2 PB cups and bag of popcorn was $16 (promised kid ice cream, had to get something). Will not return.

I loved their super chunky chocolate ice cream, which completely overshadowed what is normally one of my favorites, salted caramel (although thats not to say the salted caramel was bad, I just LOVED the chocolate one). I cant wait to go back and try more flavors!

No wonder this is one of the most popular restaurants (okay it’s technically not a restaurant because it’s dessert, but it’s amazing enough to have the title) in Blacksburg! The ice cream is so good, the milkshakes are legit, and the level with the stationary objects is something unique and awesome. If you ever visit Bburg and plan to visit all the local food places us Blacksburgers recommend, this’ll definitely be one of them.

Adorable aesthetic, nice stationary shop, and amazing ice cream and gourmet candies! I love taking some friends and ordering an ice cream flight. It’s such a fun concept and you get to enjoy multiple flavors. Their cones are delicious too though. Really you can’t go wrong!

Sugar Magnolia is an addicting place. The Homestead Creamery ice cream is amazing. I also love that you can buy chocolates and other little knick knacks.

Visited this lovely shop a few days ago and had the most pleasant experience! The sweetest young lady named Taylor helped me out and she made sure my kids and I had the best service. Absolutely love the expansion this shop has had and the staff. Will be visiting again

Really nice place, well decorated & friendly people. I got a butter pecan waffle cone & key lime truffle, they were both delicious! If you get a chance to stop in you should. There shopping side has great gift ideas that are unique. I love how they expanded & incorporated the stone work into the walls & decor. A+ place

Ice cream and chocolate are incredible! The nice young lady working at the counter only charged me for a single scoop when I ordered a double. A person (I believe to be the owner) noticed and when I offered to pay for it told me I was good and to enjoy. Will definitely give them my business in the future. The dark chocolate sea salt caramels and peanut butter chocolate covered Oreo cookies were amazing.

Had a cool and delicious ice cream cup and bought some wonderful truffles. Everything is very good and great service. A little over priced though.

I am huge fan of Sugar Magnolia! They have the best ice cream and provide great gifts, cards, and hysterical odds and ends! They also do ice cream cart events, and trust me it is a great way to boost any event you hold! I highly recommend Sugar Magnolia!

Ice Cream was hand dipped and high quality. I had a double scoop of choc. In a waffle cone. Cost about $5. Located right on main street in the heart of everything. Inside was very inviting and clean. Great place for ice cream.

Sweet Magnolias is a sweet sensation every time. They serve a wonderful single scoop of ice cream for only $3. And you can make that single scoop of ice cream with two flavors if youd like. I had a yummy lemon crunch ice cream along with blueberry pomegranate. They serve the creamy and delicious Homestead Creamery ice cream. The service is always a very friendly and professional. They also serve delicious chocolates. I have tried some of their chocolate truffles before, and they are out of this world. The store also features a variety of nice little gifts to be given for birthdays and other special occasions. They have custom birthday and all occasion cards as well.

2 stars for the two pieces of cookie dough I got in my chocolate chip cookie dough more aptly named vanilla.

This place is wonderful and uplifting. I’m sorry about those who are fragrance sensitive because I find the scents awesome. My husband is fragrance sensitive but he just avoids these places. I run toward them! that does NOT warrant a low score.The ice cream is delicious and the cards, stationary and candles make me smile. Great gifts too. Don’t forget the chocolates!

Theres a reason this place has expanded since it opened. The management is diligent in providing the best possible experience, and the staff are always very friendly. Great ice cream, and a wonderful atmosphere. Also the gift shop is nothing to sneeze at.

Just went again today, I would highly recommend the espresso chocolate chip and butter pecan ice cream. My wife got the orange sorbet which was really refreshing, especially on a hot day. The shop is newly expanded and has a wonderful selection of paper products and gifts, including books, puzzles, candy, and Poppy popcorn from Asheville, NC.

Love the black berry ice cream. They have handed out ice cream at no cost to anyone who wanted. I thought that was pretty Kool. Its even more space there now. And Im glad they decided to expand such a great concept. The ice cream is quality but not so expensive. It has become a go to community hub for meets and sweets.

Really cute little place! Nice addition to downtown Blacksburg. We stopped in for ice cream this evening and we were greeted by a clean, bright, cheerful atmosphere and friendly employees. Very relaxed and happy ambiance. The ice cream is extra creamy and full of flavor - great way to cool down on a muggy day. They also sell specialty chocolates and gift/stationery items. All in all, I enjoyed it, and look forward to returning!

Very nice ice cream place that is still fairly new. They have expanded their gift shop into an adjoining space and can be fun to look through. Ice cream is very good- its homestead creamery ice cream. They have chocolates too but they are very expensive. Overall, a very nice date spot close to Tech thats just a tad expensive.

Took staff recommendation on hot chocolate - Mayan spice with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, nutmeg and cinnamon. It was a delicious treat! Thanks for the recommendation!

Very friendly staff. I ordered the ice cream - strawberry cheesecake and blueberry pomegranate. Both ice creams were a tad bit sweet (but hey, it does say sugar). Loved the ambience of the place too, feels like a place where I can sit and work comfortably.

Delicious ice cream. Ive been here several times, isnt it expected? Its great and all the options are amazing. Sometimes too hard to choose. Not counting against it. 11/10.

Good place to get weird stares and interrogated by the employees. I went in there a few times with my siblings when they were just getting ice cream and I was just looking at the flavors. This employee came up and asked if I wanted anything and I politely declined and said I was just looking around. She then rudely said “FiNe” and stormed away. I got weird stares from her for the rest of the time I was in there. This has happened a few times but other than that the ice cream is pretty good!
