Always have a great experience here. Love them
We went in with an appointment for eye exam. But nearly 1.5 hours later, we are still not done with the exam. Whats the point of the appointment then? Worse, it looked like few other customers who came in after us were taken in by the doctor while we are still waiting. Later they said that some earlier customers showed up late to their appointment which caused the delay. And then said that one of the patients had an emergency. Maybe its true. But anyway, waiting so long for a pre scheduled eye exam is not worth it. Cant recommend this place. I have to add that the staff was never rude to us, which is different than lot of other people who posted reviews here have mentioned.
I stopped in as the place is right around the corner from where I get my haircut and it was time for new glasses. They were able to get me an exam right away. The doctor was great. Then when the found out I had my own frames (which were brand new high-end frames that no one carries) thats when it went down hill. They made a big deal about if they get damaged they are not responsible. When I was finally notified after 12 days the glasses were ready for pick up, I went in to get them. One of the nose pieces was missing and I was told that it was missing when I brought them in. I (the paying customer) was told I was incorrect. After providing a photo of the new frames on my face she huffed off to replace the nose pad and made a big deal of complimentary replacement. Now it gets better. I try on the glasses and they are worse that the lenses I was replacing. She tells me I will need to see the doctor again and make an appointment. Well, at this point I do believe I have had enough, I ask for a manager and ask for the new lenses to be read to check if the new prescription is correct, and low and behold, it is not. I ask for a manager again and she is to busy on the phone and another employee issues a $50.00 credit. Now after another 14 days I return, deal with way more pleasant people but the quality of the redone lens size does not match the other, which means only the one was redone. Now, for the amount of time and money I spent there, you would think it would be correct. Nope, so I will live with it until next time and I will defiantly NOT recommend For Eye to anyone and will make sure of that. Thank you, rand off...
I went there about 30 min before closing time. The staff was super friendly and stayed past closing time to ensure that I got the right prescription and glasses.
Both my husband and myself have gotten glasses at For Eyes. A pleasant experience. Will go back for future glasses.
I went in a few times because I moved far away from my regular eye doctor. I came in for eye irritation, pain, and inability to wear contacts. I wanted to see what was wrong and if it was possible to wear contacts again eventually. Not only did the doctor misdiagnose me twice (I went back to my regular Eye Doctor who diagnosed me correctly), but they also would only give me monthly contact lenses instead of daily wears. Someone who is concerned from developing difficulties wearing contacts and you suggest monthly wear? Not to mention, they told me I needed to sign up and pay for the contacts literally that day or I would miss out on whatever deal they had I could not get it again. It seems pretty obvious to me that they were probably trying to push contact sales for the monthly version. Also, the contact fitting appointment was a joke. I was in the back room and they brought me in contacts and left. I put them in and waited for about 10 minutes, eventually the receptionist came back and told me I needed to come up to the front desk. I thought maybe the doctor was going to check out the fit in the front of the store, but instead I was just asked to pay full price for the contact fitting session and to leave. I was not asked if I liked them or if I was comfortable. I did not even make the 10-minute before my eye issues flared up. I really wish I either did not pay or filed a chargeback with my credit card.
Came in for new glasses, thinking that my vision insurance was accepted at this location only to find out that it was not. (Thanks insurance website) The two ladies that were their took the time to try and figure out what my actual insurance was, look up who takes said insurance, and even printed out locations near me. After months of sitting on my prescription I decided to just pay out of pocket because I found a pair I liked and my ins is bs anyway. Both Laurie and Nikki (Nichole?) Were very helpful and I appreciated the extra effort that was made for me, especially at the end of the day on a Friday.
The Dr. was great but the staff that answers the phone on 3 separate occasions when I called are so extremely rude and act like youre bothering them. Very unprofessional!
I just stopped in to inquire about glasses for my wife. The location was empty when we got there. The woman who approached us told us that the cost would be close $1,000 dollars for two frames. While we were talking to her, she decided that it would be a good idea to start organizing the frames on the display. She turn her back to us and ignored us.I had stopped by another For Eyes location previously that day and the price I was quoted for the exact same glasses was $250.00 less. Needless to say we are in the process of find another place to purchase my wifes glasses.
They didn’t tell me that my insurance was no longer accepted by them until I was already there. It would have been nice to know before they wasted my time and I’d already fallen in love with a pair of frames. The only thing that did get covered was my glasses prescription rx test and that was it.Please make sure before you waste your time going in there if you’re using eye insurance if you’ll be covered or not before you go in. Or to the staff? Maybe run someone information beforehand and let them know before they walk through the door.
I cannot thank enough for their great customer service.. my son broke the glasses, which I got from here about 5 months ago and when I went to get repaired, they did not have it in stock, so one of the lady who works there drove to the store in Oakbrook and got the pair and able to fix it on same day. we appreciate their service as it was hard for my son to go to school without glasses. Thank so much..
Total ripoff over charged $500 for glasses never going there again
Nice location. Good selection. Confusing pricing. Plan on glasses costing more than expected even with insurance.
I went for an exam for my sons and me. We all wear glasses. The Dr. Was great. Really personable. When we bought the glasses after the exam, the sales person was write slow. It took about 45 minutes for her to enter the order. During which time she answered the phone once and was so abrupt and confusing to the person on the phone. She said we will call you when your glasses are here. Her colleague said the glasses are not here. She told the lady on the phone your glasses arent here. Neither had even checked. The colleague checked and said. Oh theyre here. then the woman helping is said, theyre here, theyve been here since the 20th, I called you. Then as I was paying for the eye exam a colleague said to someone walking in, we have 50% off of everything today. I said what? We didnt get that. She said youre sales rep would have worked out the costs for you. I went back to the sakes rep and she said, you used insurance. I said if its cheaper without, I dont want to use the insurance. She re-entered the order (another 45 minutes). The difference was $130. She didnt apologize and seemed irritated. My son has Oakleys and needed an adjustment. She said they dont have the tools. They sell Oakleys! Next time, we will take the prescription and get it filled elsewhere.
To say that staff was rude is beyond an understatement. It makes you forget that you are the paying customer, and not them... The doctor I went to was a little strange, but knew what he was talking about.
I decided to go here because I needed an exam a.s.a.p. The doctors staff was great, but the optical side was horrible. I work in the city, and one day my glasses broke. I called and asked them to please fax my RX to me so that I could go look around here for a replacement pair. They said they would not send it to me. I would either have to come in and pick it up or have it mailed. I explained to them that, as I work in city, it is very hard for me to get to their store and I do not have the time to sit and wait for this to come in the mail. They just said sorry. I asked if they could send something that I would sign, giving them the okay to have it faxed or emailed to me. They again said sorry but that will not work either. I paid for why eye exam there and bought contacts and they could not give me my RX??Eventually, had to ask work to leave early so that I could go to Warby Parker downtown to see if I could find a pair of glasses. I found a pair and gave the Foreyes number and address to Warby Parker and they said they would take care of it. THEY even ran into issues with Foreyes and could not start my order that night because they would not release it to them without me calling, providing them with the fax number to Warby Parker. I understand to some extend this part but really???Then I called to give this information to the woman on the phone over at Foreyes only to be met with rudeness. She informed me that the doctors side comes in at 12 and they would send me a release to sign. She was about to let me go when I stopped her and said, Doesnt the doctors side need the fax number to Warby Parker in order to send my RX there? Can you please take this number and give it to them? She came back at me with a very rude, Um sure, Ill take it..... I will never buy anything from Foreyes again. I will go and see the Dr. there but that is it. And FYI to anyone else who goes here, get your RX before walking out the door because God forbid you should need it. I am very disappointed.
Doctors are great. That’s it!
Worst place to go,employees are rude, not helpful at all
Very friendly staff.
