I am going on year two (unless I can cancel/FINALLY get my refund) and if you would have asked me last year for a review I would have given excellent marks. However, due to my experience this year - that has changed to the opposite. I’ll stick it out and never use them again.Last year I had alternating red, green and white - looked great. I received a reminder to schedule my continuing service and pay, which I did, and I then asked if I could change my colors. They informed me at that time they could only do white. I don’t want white. They said they should receive supply October 1st. I requested a refund, and they came back asking what color I would like - I told them and never received a reply.I requested a refund a second time, no reply. I then received a message this week saying they could move up my installation, I asked if the color issue was sorted and they said no and it would be better to keep my late installation.Like I said, I will proceed this year to keep from being out nearly $300 and I will never use them again.
Super easy to work with. Great customer service. I received a quote within 24 hours. Crew was on time and respectful. They cleaned up after themselves and my house looks beautiful! I will use them again!

RUN RUN RUN!!. What ever you DO NOT give them your credit card number. Custom Christmas Lighting unlawfully charged my credit card a second time after we agreed on a price. They have tried to state it was lawful because it took more lights then they quoted. I provided my house blueprint and elevations for a complete bid. Never did they state how many feet was provided with my bid. Nor did they state what if any additional charge would be for more lights. They did tell me after I disputed the charge that the original bid was for 275 Feet. At $3.35 a foot. the extra 43 came in over $12.62 per foot. How can 43 feet cost 400% more? I have asked for my lights they charged me all this money for. They still will not give the lights to me. No refund on the additional unlaw charge and no lights that I paid for. Might notice their response states bid based off average house. Or a bunch of made up lies to protect them loosing work. Yet I provided a blueprint of my house to bid off. Which are attached. Dont give them a credit card. If any of you would like to read their emails to prove not to use them just reach out to me. You notice they dont offer to give me the lights i paid over twice for as well. There owner did call me and said he was going to look into. Then he made excuses every time I reached back out as being on Vacation.

Used the service for 3 years. Last year, in response to their notice of a discount for early install, I erroneously paid in full. They took this payment, made in August, as an OK to not install lights til November, with no communication until I reached out in early November. Nothing said regarding full payment 4 1/2 months before Christmas, but the money was certainly deposited. When I asked for a partial refund in November, again since I paid early at their request in early August, I hit a wall with staff. I was obviously unhappy, and became increasingly so as I left messages, emailed, with no response, or reached staff that couldnt help me. In subsequent contact with the owner, I discovered that the wall originates with him. After essentially arguing with him about my prior staff interactions, which became more and more contentious, he finally acknowledged a refund was due for the difference between full versus early payment. So, very little customer service from this company last year. Unfortunately, this held true for this year as well. Despite being a customer for 3 years, I reached out to them in early October to find out the status for lights as I had had no contact, particularly given that their communication had begun in August the year before. I was told that an email had been sent, but I never responded. I asked the email address used, and they had it wrong. I was incredulous, as they had successfully emailed me in the 3 years prior, and I have had the same email and home address for over 12 years. In fact, I was blamed for not calling earlier, and was informed that they were booked for light installs til mid-December. As I did not feel that this was worthy investment of 2-3 weeks of lights for over $400, I informed them I would like to pick up my lights and arrange other services. When I picked up my lights, not only was my extension cord gone that I had paid for, but the lights had been placed into a cardboard box, not plastic bin as had always been discussed, and all labels removed to make it more difficult for a new installer. DO NOT USE this company. They do not care about customer loyalty or customer service. Im sorry that I used them for 3 years, and am so much happier with my polite, service-driven company for holiday lighting installation. Its unfortunate that the owner is not able to see that his lack of service, like blaming the customer, is not a successful business model.This review is under my husbands name. The account with this company was under my name.
Custom Christmas lighting has been installing our holiday lights for two years. We have always been very happy with the quality and no hassle process. I love being able to schedule the install and not even have to be present for the installation. I also really appreciate not having to store the lights each season, as they store them at Custom Christmas Lighting and also replace bulbs when needed.If you have gutter guards on your home or have other accommodations that need to be made regarding your light installation process, make sure you let them know in advance so they can make a note in your account. It also doesnt hurt to follow up on these special notes each season.
This is the second year having CCL install lights on our house. They responded immediately to our requests for relocation of lights and bulb replacements. They were quick to remove the lights after the holidays and its nice that they store them for you till next year. They are very courteous and professional. Thanks for lighting up our holidays each year.
Weve been with Custom Christmas Lighting, LLC since 2015 and its been a great experience. They efficiently install the lights and take down without any problems or concerns. Its so nice to not have to hassle with ladders, burned out bulbs, freezing cold temps getting them up and down. We highly recommend!
I contacted them via their website the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I didnt expect a reply until after the holidays. This is a family run business, and holidays are special. I got a return call on Thanksgiving Eve and they had a slot open for Friday after Thanksgiving. Now I had a decision to make because I called/emailed around for several quotes. Most of the competitors still havent responded (4 days later). Their pricing is competitive with the added bonus of custom fitting lights to your house, no extension cords needed for us. The removal and storage is included in your cost. I called back and the Friday slot was filled but they got me in on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The house looks great, customer service has been remarkable. It took them all of 50 minutes to complete the job. (yes, less than an hour) I had several bulbs not working, but you couldnt tell until dusk. I reported it and they are fixing them quickly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to decorate for the holidays and cant do it themselves.
Custom Christmas Lighting has been hanging our Christmas lights for over 5 years now. They have always been easy to work with and responsive if I call with a bulb burned out or a light becoming unaffixed from the house (which has only happened a couple of times.) The lights look great and we receive many compliments from our neighbors.

I have been a customer of CCL KC since 2012. The first 6 years I would have a bulb burn out each year, to be expected with the old style lights, not their fault. When that would happen they were quick to respond. Last year they offered an option to upgrade to LEDs which I was excited about for both their longevity and energy usage. Hope to avoid having to make a service call this year, same as last. Have recommended them to 2 other homes who have used them as well
Called for business and could not get any information on a reasonable quote to determine I would use them or not for next year. Understand they are closed to any new customer. However, this limits any future business.Added note, they did give me a response. Remember to contact any business ahead of the busy season to be fair to them to get you a response and contact.

Going on third year having Custom install lights. They have done just what they said they would do each year, have had no problems with the trouble reporting which Ive used a couple times, both times they came out immediately and solved the problem. Also love their very flexible installation schedule and really appreciate the savings when I have them put them up early.

I have been with you close to 8 years and basically been very satisified. Lights are replaced free of charge which is a plus. My concern is the fee that is charged for service if a strand blows off the roof. Right now, I have a large section that has blown off and dangling off the roof. Now I undoubtly will have to spend more money to have them repaired. I had an early installation and appreciate the discount. There were many white clips already scattered on the ground before the wind and snow storm earlier this week and last week. I am not surprised that i now having hanging Christmas lights off my beautiful home. I am a 65 year old widow and I cant climb a ladder to check my gutters or reattach my lights. I will follow your instructions and pay my service fee because I have no other choice this close to the holidays.

We used Custom Christmas Lighting for years until they got too big and we started receiving poor customer service. We had issues a couple of years ago with them clogging our gutters and downspouts with lightbulbs and plastic light clips. We also had an issue with lights out the first day, and they wouldnt come back out until there were 4 or 5 bulbs out. We asked them to attach our own timers as they have in the past and they were adamant that they would NOT and said if they had done it last year, they SHOULD NOT HAVE. You have to pay in advance to get on the schedule, where before you paid on the day they were installed. I paid this year and after I found out they WOULD NOT attach my own timers, asked for a refund, which I promptly received. They had no desire to keep me as a customer. Im sad that they got too big and werent very customer friendly in the office.

Terrible customer service. Have been told completely opposite things regarding taking down the lights, than what is on the website. They changed their policy but did not inform the customers. Have been waiting since Friday for the owner to contact me which he did on Monday just to leave a message saying hed call back in an hour or 2. Still waiting for the return phone call. The price quote they give you is for only one year. Oh and still waiting for them to come take the lights down.
We have worked with them for several years now and have always been completely satisfied with their service! We also really like that they store our Christmas light for us so dont have to deal with extra clutter in our garage.

Custom Christmas Lighting, LLC provides poor customer service and in my opinion is highly overpriced. This event started in early November with a call to check on lights and submission online. We received the estimate and placed the order for first time light installation. The total was to be $480 for LED and multi-color. The install date was set for Tuesday December 8th a date they selected as the day they could complete the install. They called on Monday December 7th and left a message to confirm the install. When they had not arrived by about 2pm we called to verify that it would be completed. We were told they could not contact the installers in the field but were confident it would be completed. The installer called at about 5:40pm to say they could not complete the job we had paid for two weeks in advance in full. I asked if they would be there first thing in the morning. He said no as they had other installs to complete. I called the office and they said there was no way to make the install on December 9th and we would have to wait until the 10th. Having no choice, we waited. They came and completed within about half an hour. The lights are ok not very straight but installed and working. Then over the weekend another charge was sent to my credit card without my approval for an additional $40.00. There was not explanation giving no forewarning not contact at all. When I called on Monday morning December 14th to inquire I am met with a recording stating that they are thru for the season and if there is a problem with the lights to go to their web site and send in a trouble ticket. I find this type of tactic to be underhand hoping that in the holiday rush no one will notice the extra charge sent in under the radar so to speak. Set your price and meet it and provide good service that is all that is required. In this case neither of these items have been met. I will not be a repeat customer.
