I have had a great experience with Modern Ford of Boone and working with Tristin Fogarty. I was able to quickly and easily get through the buying process without any heartache whatsoever. There was a minor hiccup while Tristin was out of town on his day off and he was able to work the problem and get the issue resolved without a hitch. If youre looking for a vehicle, new or used, this is the place to go and Tristin is the guy to see.
Use at your own risk, techs skip inspections and advisors mis quote prices. And you are left with the bill after management refuses to admit they made mistakes.

I had my F 150 in for repair Adam and Jeff were the service reps I dealt with. Both of them were extremely helpful and professional. Everything was communicated to me every step of the way. Its nice to pick up your vehicle and not have any surprises. They have a full slate of technicians that specialize in different components of the vehicles. These guys are top notch all the way. Staff is always friendly, the facility is clean, my car is returned clean (no grease on the wheel/arm rest, etc.), and the staff really works hard to make sure your experience is excellent!

Service staff very courteous and knowledgeable. Did what they said they would do and when they said it would be done. Very pleasant experience. I was a little worried about going to Modern based upon some of the reviews I had read. It seems the change in ownership from a few years ago has cured a lot of the issues described in the poor reviews.

Adam in service is one of the best in the business. He took care of my trucks problems under warranty and made it a no fuss and no hassle experience. He answered all of my my many questions and provided top notch customer service. They also looked at the problem and dove deeper into what was causing an issue to fix it rather than just putting a band aide on the issue and calling it a day. Ill be taking my truck back to them anytime I need work done!

Worst ford place on east coast, if you have a fleet truck, def. Do not go there. They will just brush you off and say there is nothing they can do. I worked for ford, the dont.
We were on vacation near Boone & had car trouble & called to see if we could bring our car in to get the problem resolved and corrected. Not only did the service dept tell us to bring it right in, but Adam (our service advisor) went above and beyond normal service practice. He did the necessary research to not only get the problem corrected but also got all of the work covered under Fords bumper to bumper warranty coverage. My accolades go out to Adam and his whole service department family. Thank you very much for your kind and quality service. Simple process made unbearable... Ford sends an URGENT letter in the mail in reference to an airbag recall. The airbags could deploy at any moment sending shrapnel into my partners face.. or they simply will not deploy at all if in an accident. Both circumstances are obviously not ideal. The letter that Ford sent made it very clear to take care of this immediately, that the dealership would provide a loaner car, and this issue would be solved. So, we try Modern Ford of Boone as they are the closest dealership. My girlfriend calls Modern Ford, mentions the problem, asks for assistance, asks about the loaner car. Service manager Dustin, scoffs at the question regarding the loaner car - completely unprofessional. Shes been hung up on, transferred over and over to no avail at setting an appointment. Modern Ford tells her they have a shuttle program that will get her to work. On the next phone call, within the hour, the shuttle is now magically out of commission. So, I go there in person to get a straight answer as I have a more flexible schedule than she does. Every question that I asked prompted different answers from each person that I asked. One said the repairs would take several hours, another said 30 minutes, another an hour and a half, and so on. Weve been told the loaner car program only applies to repairs taking more than one day, also that it only applies to the exact time that your car is being worked on, that it doesnt exist... Not once given a single straight answer by anyone. Prior to my arrival, someone at Modern Ford confirmed an appointment for Thursday. As it turns out, they never scheduled the appointment. When I asked the service scheduler how that could happen, his response was they usually dont know what they are talking about since they are all the way in Winston Salem. What? How is that an efficient system? Multiple people in multiple locations are booking appointments with obviously no communication makes no sense whatsoever. I never have a reason to go back and I am so glad for that. Ashe County Ford was much more responsive and much more polite, certainly take your business there if owning a Ford is for you.

I wanted to share my experience of the service I received from Daniel at Modern Ford of Boone. My son, who is attending college at App broke down in the middle of an intersection in his new vehicle. As a mother I felt helpless hours away. I called Modern Ford of Boone and Daniel was extremely helpful. We had the car towed to the dealership so the service department could diagnose the issue. The 2018 Escape had just been in the shop in our home town less than a month previous with a large engine issue leaving us a vehicle short for over a week Daniel was upfront and honest with me, letting me know there were a few cars ahead of ours but they would definitely take a look by the end of the day. He kept in communication with me through the following day, calling when he said he would and was planning to work with us to obtain a rental vehicle should the problem have been worse than originally thought and stemming from the recent repair. Modern Ford ended up getting the repair completed and covered under warranty sooner that expected. It was a comfort to know we were in good hands and being taken care of. We will definitely be back.

Not a great experience. Dropped my car off last week and Ive called every day, for the last three days for answers as to what is wrong with my vehicle. Ive been told three times someone was going to call me back about whats going on with my car and never get a call. When I mentioned that during my last phone call I was hung up on. Terrible customer service and obviously theres serious lack of communication. Still have no idea what is wrong with my car and if theyre unintelligent enough to fix it without my permission theres going to be serious repercussions. I just need to know whats wrong and no one is communicating with me.

Called trying to get a price for a scheduled maintenance for a 2016 F250 diesel with 40,000 miles. Selected the “Maintenance” option on the recorded message. Young lady answered and ask what I needed. I explained the info above. She said hold for a service advisor. Second young lady answered. Again I explained the above. She said OK.....I waited, then she asked. What kind of part or service did you need? I explained again. She said hold and left. I waited. She came back and said I only needed an oil change at 40,000. I explained the owners manual called for some other items. Her answer was “Oh, we don’t do that here at 40,000. Consider it carefully before ever calling here or going here.
We have worked with this dealership multiple times and I am happy to say we are very pleased with our new vehicle. The staff here are very helpful, courteous, and have worked with us to give us the best deal possible. This is our second purchase from this dealership and we will definitely return in the future! I purchased a used car here. The sales staff were prompt and courteous, responded professionally to questions and requests with no pressure to buy. The actual purchase process was prompt and efficient. The service staff were responsive and courteous.

My experience was with the service department. A recall had been done on my truck from another dealership and I started having problems shortly after. I had traveled to Boone to visit my parents. I thought something was done wrong with the recall service at the other dealer and called Modern Ford for help because I was afraid to drive the truck. Modern took my truck in the very next day. Later I received a call back and it was not good news there was a problem but nothing to do with what the previous dealer had done so it was not covered under that recall. The service department said they wanted to do some checking on some things and would call me back. Later that same day I was informed what all was going on with the vehicle and that the particular problem could also be covered under recall until Oct. 2019. This saved us over 600.00!!All the guys at the service department went above and beyond to help me and get my vehicle back on the road. They were kind and courteous, and quite frankly provided the best service Ive ever had with any vehicle.
Im a very picky customer but David has always been able to find exactly what Im looking for. Ive purchased several cars from him over the years and each time it has been a great experience. Hes a no pressure salesman that is very knowledgeable.

After selling me a truck that took way too long. The air conditioner went out the first time I used it. I was told it is my problem and they will do nothing about it. What happened to being a reputable company that stands behind the products they sell. Be careful when dealing with the folks at any of the Modern dealerships, but I guess that is why they have a bad reputation
The folks at Modern were very nice and took the time to work with us to get the car we wanted. We arrived later than we had hoped on a Saturday evening and they stayed late in an effort to make sure we were taken care of. I appreciate Boone Fords willingness to put a coupon on their site to drop the price of a full-service oil change. I love that they include so much for the price; oil change, tire rotation, etc. Everyone is so friendly there, and I really appreciate being able to take the car we bought at their lot to the dealership for an affordable price. We also really appreciate being able to come in and have a cup of hot chocolate on these bitterly cold days!

Im not one to write reviews but felt our experience warranted it. I copy and pasted this from a review I wrote for another dealership that actually treated us with respect and professionalism. Heres the story. We needed a 4X4 and had a few special circumstances that made our purchase requirements unique and were looking for someone to help us navigate through the process. We originally went to another dealership (Modern Ford) they were not very helpful actually wouldnt even return our phone calls (4 calls with messages left)after our initial meeting at the dealership. They ran our credit which affected us negatively later on and we didnt purchase with them even though we tried Ive never had a more difficult time trying to give someone money!!! My wife even called today one more time as a last ditch effort and spoke to the sales manager who seemed bothered by her call needless to say it was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. We then called Discovery Chevy and spoke with Charlie who was very friendly and helpful. When we got to the dealership he was with another client so we got matched up with Lexi who was great, she was down to earth and personable. Eric was our financial consultant and he really worked hard to make the deal we needed happen for us! James aka Cornfed was our last stop with sewing up the paperwork and signing off on it all and he made it as painless as possible. The whole crew was amazing to deal with they were extremely helpful and professional, there was another gentleman (didnt catch his name) that even helped me move my truck tool box from my trade in to my new truck! We are very happy with our new purchase and couldnt be happier with the experience! Highly recommend this dealership!!! These guys ROCK!!! And have a customer for life with me and my family I will recommend them to all of my friends and business associates!!!
We went in to look at a Ford Escape and to test-drive it, and it was only an hour before closing time, but the salesman and manager were very nice and helpful even when we changed our mind and wanted to see and drive another vehicle. They even offered to help us find something that was not currently on their lot.
My family and I came up to Boone for winter break and bairley made it up the hill to hotel parking lot in our F250, it was smoking and lost power. I called around the next morning to a couple of local shops and both said I would have to leave truck with them and mentioned getting a rental, I understand that but I needed somebody to at least diagnose problem for me ASAP. I called Modern Ford and talked to Tim in service and explained to him we were on vacation and explained the truck problem and he said bring it on in and they would have there diesel mechanic check it out. In 3.5 hours truck was fixed for main problems and other issues were diagnosed and listed for me so I can fix later. Tim and staff were super nice and took good care of me. We made it up the 4000 foot mountain to check in to our cabin for the rest of the break thanks to Modern Ford in Boone North Carolina!
Bryan Martin did a fantastic job of communicating with me from the very beginning. We talked for about 2 weeks before I drove 1.5 hours to the dealership, they made me a fair offer on my trade and we got the deal done!!! Excellent, no pressure atmosphere at Modern Ford of Boone!
I was shocked at the treatment I received at their dealership. I have great credit and was lied to by the finance department. I went to Ross dodge and they treated me fairly and honestly. When I complained to the salesman he just shrugged his shoulders.I would highly recommend shopping somewhere else.
This is an update to my previous review. I took my car back in the next day and it turns out whoever looked at my headlights didnt plug them back in. Fast forward to a couple of months later - my cousin is kindly putting washer fluid in my car for me and notices that the rubber headlight cover is not on the headlight, but rather on the opposite side under the hood just laying there. They cant even completely correct their own mistakes. Thankfully he saw it and knew what it was and was able to put it in place.
My salesman, Scott Mitchell, was so helpful, never pushy and always willing to let me think about my purchase. I have never bought a car and felt this way. I actually left smiling and satisfied. Car buying should always feel this way.
I was just in the service department. I had a set of mounting plates not installed in the truck bed before a liner was dropped in. I could not attach the plates myself. I brought the truck in and the service and parts manager, Jeff Wilson, spent a half hour out in the hot sun installing them for free. Very nice and friendly place, despite the fact Id purchased the truck elsewhere.
The sales staff at Boone Ford were friendly and were not the pushy, in your face sales people that you find at a lot of dealerships. I enjoyed meeting the people there and the buying experience I had. I met the GM Jordan and he a nice guy also. I definitely would recommend giving them a try.

The service department and the dealership as a whole were extremely rude and every single person I talked to had a different answer to my issue but no solution. I have a recall on my 2005 Ford Mustang that I received an URGENT notice from Ford in the mail asking me to please take it to the closest Ford Dealership immediately and a FREE loaner (rental) car would be provided because the airbags in my car might malfunction and throw shrapnel (fragments of metal thrown out of an explosion) from the driver and passenger side airbags. When I called Modern Ford of Boone I was first laughed at by Dustin Tester (service department manager) and then after ending that call feeling completely disrespected and unsatisfied I called back and was told they couldnt fix my car for multiple days but that they would provide a shuttle so that I could get to work. I told the customer service girl that I was going to call around to other dealerships in an attempt to get my car fixed sooner but if I couldnt then I would call back. Well apparently this recall is a major one affecting a lot of Ford vehicles so the other dealerships within an hours distances from me where booked for a week so I called Modern Ford of Boone back to schedule an appointment and confirm a shuttle to drop me off at work and pick me up when my car was fixed. When I tried to call back a different girl answered and pulled up my account by my phone number then said she had to put me on hold to talk with someone from the service department before scheduling my appointment. I was put on hold for about a minute then heard the line pickup and then clicked to hangup! I called back and a girl that I talked with before the last answered and scheduled my appointment for Thursday, it is currently Tuesday. She told me to drop my car off on Wednesday night and they would fix it at 7:30am on Thursday but when I asked about the shuttle she said that it now is decommissioned for the week.... Just to clarify, an hour earlier this same girl told me that the shuttle could 100% take me to work and pick me up from work when my car was fixed as long as I worked in the Boone city limits, which I do. I am on the verge of tears at this point and just agree to whatever she is saying so that I dont cry while on the phone with her. My boyfriend is furious at this point and physically goes to the dealership where he is told by 3 different people 3 different time frames that my car will be fixed by AND that I never actually made an appointment. They also seemed to not know who Dustin Tester was... We then called the Ford dealership in Ashe County and immediately were given answers appointments were made and they only had complete KINDNESS and UNDERSTANDING for my situation. IF YOU TAKE ANYTHING FROM THIS REVIEW IT IS TO STAY AWAY FROM MODERN FORD OF BOONE. They dont know what they are doing and they definitely dont care, especially about extremely dangerous and life threatening recalls. They should have a much lower rating than 3.8... MUCH LOWER...

Not a good experience. Nice car but exorbitant interest rates. The guy from finance would not even tell me what interest rate they were charging. A little Google research reveals 7.9. This is a complete rip off for someone with excellent credit. I will not go back.I read their reply. No way! If I could give them a zero I would. By the way I have an 800 Fico score. Online research shows the interest should be 2.9. Ripoff

Phoned them on a Friday afternoon with a slow tire leak on my 14 Expedition, out of warranty - they had the best price for fixing a puncture and gave me a Saturday morning appointment. Competitive places had no Saturday appointments available.I arrived a few minutes early, they took the car right in, repaired the flat and then explained and quoted me on an outside rearview mirror repair I inquired about on arrival. Total time was about 30 minutes, and the coffee and cookies were warm and fresh while I waited. Truly First Rate Service - I will go back.
This review is specifically for the body shop.A deer hit my passenger side fender, I dropped my car off with Tom, who pretty much took care of everything from then on. I had to sign a few forms, but he dealt with my insurance company directly, which left me with the only duty of confirming with my insurance agency, that Toms body shop would be repairing the damages.I received multiple calls from the body shop updating me on the progress of the repairs. I was informed, by Tom, when the claim was sent, when the parts came in and when my car was sure to be finished.Needless to say, the repairs were perfect, what more can you ask for?!Sadly, a month later, a motorist collided with me and the same vehicle was taken to Toms body shop at Boone Ford Lincoln. They assessed the damage and gave me great advice as to how to proceed.I cannot say enough of how accommodating theyve been and continue to be at the Body Shop, Boone Ford Lincoln. I will certainly recommend them to any family or friends that may seek their services. Many Thanks!

Eight years ago, almost to the day, my wife and I purchased a Ford Freestyle from Boone Ford Lincoln Mercury, Boone N.C.. Well over 167,000 miles later and now with a son in a college, my Freestyle runs as good as the day I purchased it. In fact the same service team just finished checking it out.....still looks good!!!This dealership is by far the best dealership in Northwest North Carolina. The owner is an honest man and I would certainly recommend him to anyone interested in buying a new car.We purchased our last vehicle from Boone and when we need to buy our next car, we will call Boone Ford.

I recently purchased a 2018 Ford Expedition from Modern Ford and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received. I found the vehicle online through TrueCar search, and I had to fly in from Texas. They made sure that someone was at the hotel in Charlotte to pick me up first thing in the morning, and drive me to Boone. Even before flying out to make the purchase, I was completely confident in the purchase I was about to make. I received videos, pictures, and had several phone conversations not only with my Sales Associate, but also with the Sales Manager and the Financing department to make sure all my questions were answered. When I arrived, the paperwork was already complete, the vehicle had been detailed and parked right in the front, and Kenny, my sales associate, was waiting at the door for me to arrive. After all the paperwork was signed, I checked out everything with the vehicle and it was all the same as I was told over the phone, the sales manager even got me lunch, and hooked me up with a hat and some sweet keychains (little things matter)! Big shoutout to Kenny Woodie, Keith Davenport, and Debra Hensley for making this experience easy and enjoyable! I’d definitely do business with Modern Ford of Boone again...even from across the country!
This place always charges more than advertised. They send me coupons specific to my car then when I have the work done and the price is higher the reason is coupon only covers 5 quarters and your car took 6. Why bother with coupons if they are not what the deal is going to be. I bought the car at this dealership when Mr. Glover owned it and part of the purchase price included free oil changes for life. Since Modern bought the dealership I no longer have that which I paid for when I bought the car. In the past I have bought 6 different vehicles, both cars and trucks, from the two previous owners. Modern is not client motivated and is not the right fit for this town. Same goes for the Toyota and Subaru dealerships they have here. I have had the unfortunate need to have done work there too with the same unsatisfactory work. Example, I took a Subaru legacy in for an inspection and had a rear light burnt out. They told me I would need to replace a harness for around $250 because they could not get the bulb out of the rusted socket. I replaced the bulb with no effort in not rusted socket. The apparently didnt even know you need to push the bulb in before twisting it out. BEWARE, THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTADE OF YOU!!!!
I called this Ford dealership about a recall and some trouble Ive had with my focus, the lady I spook with didnt help me with anything !! Didnt know what she was doing. Got my name and number said they call me back its been 3 weeks now, I called the Johnson city TN dealership and they know the problem and get you help!! Made me appointment set up the exact time it would take and even gave me a loan car to drive while mine was getting fixed. All of the JC TN services is out standing customer satisfaction service!!

Worst experience I have ever had buying a car, from the sales people all the way to the service department. They do not even know how to spell the words customer service. Some one should be sued for prostate cancer for all the smoke they blowed up my ass.. Service department at this dealer is terrible. Took car in to have an air bag censor fixed after keeping the car for an entire they said the problem was fixed. A month later light came on again. Took it to another Ford dealership, they told me the problem was never fixed. Boone ford just band aided it. They said the way it was fixed that if the car had been in an accident the air bag would have never went off. Will never send anyone to this dealership. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE. BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed my review from 4 to 1 because I am extremely disappointed in the Service department and maybe if I post a bad review someone will actually call me like they have promised over & over but never do. I dont think they really care about customer satisfaction or fixing vehicles right the first time! My story & list of concerns is way to long for this post.
Every time I take my car here the job is done halfway. I’ve had consistent issues. I recently purchased new tires from a separate place and while they were replacing my tires noticed that one of the brake caliper pins was completely missing. The only person who has worked on the brakes on my car is Ford. This is just one thing in a long list of incomplete and careless repairs - however this one seriously impacted my safety. I have had warranty work done a couple of times on my transmission and consistently worry that it was done in the same careless manner as every other repair that I’ve had there. Unfortunately I still have a while to pay off my car - otherwise I would be done with the Ford brand completely.
