I made an appt for an oil change for 1030am, at 12pm my car was still sitting in parking lot. I fully understand things happen and being short staffed, I too am in the service industry. However, I also uphold a high level of customer service and expect the same when I am potentially spending my hard earned money and time to patron your business. It takes less than 30 seconds to check in with those that are patiently waiting, being respectful of our time is considered just being courteous. As I was not the only one that left very disappointed with the response of they are backed up, not even an attempt to make it right just 2 female employees who acted as if they didnt care. After speaking with the very pleasant Austin at your other location I will be taking my car there tomorrow. His urgency to make this right and satisfy me as a customer I hope does not go unnoticed. I will not recommend the blowing rock rd location to anyone and in fact will make it a priority to discourage friends and family from coming there. Hopefully the techs that were working very hard will not have to take the brunt of your front desk destruction of simple customer service.

Our daughters car was looked at and fixed here. Josh was very informative and patient and helpful!We would definitely use their services again!

Sent our college son there to get his brakes done - front and back. Told him to ask for the better deal a coupon for a brake deal they were advertising at the time. They did back brakes and rotors only and on a car with almost 80,000 miles. When I called they said his front brakes were perfectly fine. He was under the impression he had both front and back brakes replaced. Needless to say, he did not get the better deal. I wish I had read the reviews.

Had an absolutely horrible time at mr tire in boone. I dropped off my van to get the O2 sensor replaced. They said to expect a call from the manager in 30 minutes because they were “almost done” and after 6 hours (calling every 2hrs only to be put on hold each time). They did nothing and gave my car back 30min after close saying “you can come back tomorrow if you want”. At some point during the 7hrs of no work done on my van, they took off my air filter and cover and left the cylinders completely exposed. I had an engine failure on the way home. They have done nothing to remedy the problem other than put me on hold and tell me the manager is off today. This mistake may have totaled my car and I still haven’t heard from the company.

They squeezed me in on a holiday weekend because my car was driving shaky, clunky, and bumpy and has 200,000 miles on it. I needed to replace the control arm assembly. They got the parts delivered quickly and got it all done in time for me to make it to Atlanta for my 1 year wedding anniversary. My car drives much better and I’m happy that I trusted their diagnosis. It was not cheap, but looking at the cost of parts online plus labor, the price was reasonable. I wish I could have thanked them in person, but I was in a rush. So I’ll thank them in a review. Thanks!

Wish I could give this place a minus 5. My son spend 5 hours there today 9/18/21 trying to get his tire plugged. After the wait he was told the tool needed to remove the lug nuts was not in the car. The last time the lug nuts were removed is when this place put 2 new tires on the back…obviously they did not put the tool back in the car. He was told they didn’t have one…did I say he had been there waiting for 5 hours. He also told them last Thursday 9/9/21 when he was there to get his oil changed and tires rotated they had not rotated the tires but he was in a hurry and didn’t notice until the next morning when he was leaving town. He paid for the oil change and tire rotation. No one offered to go ahead and rotate the tires today or give him a refund. This place is a joke and they are taking advantage of college kids.

Rapidly losing tire pressure left rear. Pulled into this Mr Tire at 6:01 PM. Bay doors down closed at 6:00. Dillon opened up, stayed over, plugged tire. Above and beyond service!

I called so many places in dire need of a new tire and everyone here was so accommodating! It was later in the day and they had no problem fitting me in! I look forward with future business with them!

Out of towner here, got a flat tire and they replaced them all with the wrong size (the only size we have in stock, at a tire store?), and a mish-mash of different brands at that. About a 5 hour wait for the pleasure, too. Reading through the other negative reviews saying they are taking advantage of, primarily, students and other young folk and I definitely believe it. Avoid.

I have never had a good experience from this location. Each of the 3-4 times I have come here for minor services (oil change, brakes, etc.) it has taken way longer than expected and quoted and the employees did not seem sympathetic or apologetic at all. The other location is mildly better but I still take my business elsewhere (Alrays) whenever possible.

I have been coming here for years, and as I was going over the reviews I seen I noticed the main complaints were the wait time. What a lot of people fail to realize is that your wait time is based on what the techs are currently working. If they’re working on something and your wait time is 45 min to an hour that is just a rough estimate. The people upfront do NOT know if anything is going to go wrong, or what is having to be done on the vehicles being worked on. So what I would like to see is less complaining of the wait time.

Unbelievable service, even on a weekend. Im not used to a tire store actually being fast and efficient, but my experience here was exactly that. They had the tire I needed in stock, gave me a very fair price and had it done faster than they estimated. Ill use this location every time I need new tires without hesitation!

I had the best experience here yesterday! Chris ( the manager) helped me out so much. Not only did he get my car back to the normal, i needed a ride back to my place, and even though they were busy he still made time to help me out and get me home. He was very professional and was helpful. If i ever need anything else done service wise, i will be going back to see Chris! Thank you so much! Got a flat while heading to a waterfall, only place open on Saturday. Friendly staff, decent prices, but we had a LONG wait. Other than that overall good experience

I’m a 22 year old woman who went in alone to get my tires replaced after they had been slashed. Josh at the front desk was completely inappropriate and was texting me basically asking if I had a boyfriend and joking how he was nervous that my dad would fly up to NC (???). I don’t know if any other women have went here and had the same treatment but I just wanted to get my tires replaced and was not expecting to have the mechanic guy try to get in my pants lol. Good car service though

Excellent service tech having trouble with our brakes coming down the mountain and pulled in. Almost closing time and he was kind enough to look at our truck, bleed the brakes and test drive to insure it was ok to drive. On top of that didnt charge anything for his labor. This place is flat out amazing. We had an emergency 4 hours from home. The team at Mr. Tire was able to get us in same day, over a holiday weekend, when everyone else was closed. Had us back on the road before we finished eating across the street, and for an unbeatable price. My vacation remains stress free. Thank you gentleman.

I highly, highly recommend Mr. Tire, specifically Josh. We are visiting Boone from out of town. I called in a panic because we had gotten an oil change two days prior (somewhere else, in our hometown) and now my car was leaking oil badly and almost completely empty. He told us to come in, he pulled us into a bay immediately, diagnosed the issue, fixed the issue, and then refused to take payment. In a situation that could have ended much worse, he was a God send. If you need any services they offer, don’t hesitate to take your business to Mr. Tire and Josh.

I am a college student and I come here everytime I need something done with my car. Last year when I came in, I came in for my check engine light and after they went through and discovered I just needed a new the gas cap, they didnt even charge me anything for checking, just the new tires I also purchased. The employee also explained to me exactly what gas cap I would need to purchase because they didnt have it in stock and it wasnt just a regular old gas cap, it had to fit my car specifically. Everytime I come in they are sure to tell me everything I need done but they make sure to tell me what is immediate, rather than tricking me into paying for things I dont need at the time. The employees are also very funny and I enjoy the conversations I have when I come in. The manager, or owner? (i think) even sat with me for a few minutes teaching me stuff about my major (finance and banking) he said I wouldnt learn in school. I left the auto shop with some fresh new break pads and new knowledge of the financial markets. Very successful trip.

We had a really bad flat on Saturday night in Blowing Rock. We were able to get the spare on and called Mr Tire. They said they were open at 9 on Sunday.We were there by 8am!Chad took us right in..found (as we suspected) that the tire could not be repaired. He had a replacement tire for us and we were on our way in an hour...made it bsck home to the Coast safe and sound!!

Great prices and the customer service is personable, but they absolutely do not enforce the mask MANDATE (now punishable by up to $1000 fine and even time served), and i even saw some staff not wearing one at all. i do not feel safe while waiting for my services. IT IS NOT JUST TO KEEP YOU SAFE, BUT TO KEEP OTHERS SAFE AS WELL!!! AND to prevent people such as myself from begging to not get evicted after having to take time off work due to potential exposure, or my best friend’s mom who has to wear a heart monitor since she recovered back in september. do your part and keep everyone safe so we can finally get over this.

We showed up close to closing with a tire that was losing air. They were busy but still fixed us up quick. We were very thankful with a long road ahead of us and no further issues!

Yesterday I had to get my tire repaired at another tire place in town. This morning I woke up to a nearly deflated tire. Fortunately I was able to inflate it and drive to Mr Tire. They weren’t sure if I would need a new tire or if it could be fixed. They were busy so I went home to wait. Josh called to tell me the news. He said it was good and bad. Good news: they could plug the tire again (Apparently it was a different spot that the other place didn’t find, but Mr. Tire did!) Bad news: it would be another 30 minutes. That is the best bad news I could hear. They saved me from buying a new tire and did the job quickly. Within 30 minutes, Josh called to tell me the car was ready. Overall great service and great work. Would definitely recommend and will be using them in the future. As we are new to the community, we have found our repair shop.

I had a flat tire, and I was worried about it needing to be replaced. It was only a bead leak (I think that’s what it was called). It took about an hour and they didn’t charge me! So kind, and didn’t try to rip me off. I will definitely be back if I need other work done on my car!

Had a 3pm appointment for an oil change. I was told it would take about 45 minutes. At 3.45 the oil change had not even started. They did not honor the appointment time .

We were on vacation in Boone December 2020 and had a flat late on a Saturday afternoon. I called this location and explained my situation and that I planned to drive back to Orlando early the next day. I took my truck here a few months ago with an appointment. I waited 2 1/2 hours before they even took it in the garage. I was willing to look over that but I can not look over our most recent experience. We took my wife’s Honda in for an oil change and tire rotation. They broke the hub on the front of the vehicle which caused them to keep it for 3 days while they waited for the new part. Next, today (2 weeks later) I noticed oil leaking heavily on our driveway. After investigating, I discovered the drain plug was never tightened. I tightened the drain plug but it could have very easily resulted in a very expensive fix. I DO NOT recommend anyone using their services simply based on my experiences. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

Had a flat on a weekend returning from vacation. We called Mr. Tire/Clarkes and the staff was great! They had our tires ready when we pulled up. The manager was understanding and made our unwanted stop as pleasant as possible. They even gave us a discount! Great staff, top quality tires, all at a terrific price.

Avoid this shop if you have any type of schedule to keep! I just needed a quick rotate and balance. I showed up to a 9AM appointment on a Saturday morning and after an hour and a half I had to leave because they had not started with my vehicle.

We began using Mr. Tire on Jefferson Road in Boone when our daughter was a college freshman 5 years ago. We always received excellent service and prompt repairs. It is evident the store has either switched ownership or management over the past year. Customer service is horrible and even with an appointment it has become customary to wait 2 to 3 hours for a simple inspection or oil change. Over the years we have spent a large amount of money on maintenance and repairs for our two college students cars. Today was the last time we will do business with Mr. Tire. My daughter schedule an appointment online. When she arrived at her appointment time she was told they switched her appointment to a week out. When asked why they didn’t call her as they always had in the past they told her they sent her an email. Unfortunately she had not checked her email this morning before heading over. Very unprofessional to change an appointment the day of service and never even offered an apology. She went half a mile down the road and got the oil change she needed in ten minutes at Mountaineer Quick Lube and they were extremely friendly and professional.

Scam, Scam. Liers. And they get grease on your mats. No one does business with this place.

Went into this shop looking for new tires. They didnt have my size, so they pushed me into buying a different size than what came on my truck. Tires will not balance and they new that but kept telling me there perfect, well that is when the guy would take a break from watching tic toc. IF you decide to go here, plan on spending all day, making multiple trips trying to get your new tires balanced, being lied to about tires being balanced. Customer service here does not exist. Your only hope is to work with chad at the front, and talk to the tech yourself in the back. There are many other places to buy tires in Boone. My advice is to pick another one than mr tire on blowing rock rd. My truck still shakes on the road and im stuck with $1400.00 worth of garbage tires that are out of round and will not ballance.

My boyfriend and I were close to Boone this past Sunday when the brakes started to go on the Jeep, coming down a mountain no less. Found this shop online and called. They were super helpful and were able to work us right in!! Our Jeep was fixed and we were back on the trails in no time. Awesome experience and highly recommend.

While out of town on vacation, my wife ran off the road and blew out both tires on the passenger side. To make matters worse, we are traveling with 2 kids, check out at the rental was the next day and it was 6:00 pm on Saturday (Labor Day Weekend). Worst case scenario type stuff. Had the car towed here and found out the rim was bent something awful in the front and needed 2 tires. I’m terrible with names, but I believe it was Chad that I was speaking with (awesome dude by the way). Chad had a young wizard in the shop that was borrowed from another store, he managed to straighten out the wheel enough to drive 3.5 hours back home. I run an auto shop back home and these guys are awesome. I’m writing this from the car at 2:30 whilst heading home. Thanks Guys!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Showed up here without an appointment on the morning of 7/23/20, due to my left rear tire indicating low pressure. Chris waited on us right away and advised he would get the issue addressed within the hour. The technician pulled the car back about 15 minutes later. Approximately 20 minutes later the technician finished and advised that a nail had gone into the tire sideways, creating a slow leak. He stated that all was now good, and made sure all tires were inflated to 37 pounds. I would definitely recommend Mr. Tire in Boone, NC to anyone needing service. Chris, at the front counter, and the technician were friendly, professional and made for a pleasant experience.

I brought in my flat travel trailer tire this afternoon for repair. My wife and I are traveling from Florida and staying in Pineola.I found your facility on my Garmin.I entered the cleanest tire and repair facility I have ever seen. The staff was most friendly, neat, and professional. After a short wait, a gentleman loaded the repaired tire into my truck and said have a great day. I told him that I needed to go inside to settle up. He said, the boss said no charge . WOW.I am a retired business owner myself and know how important it is to have a professional staff.THANKS.

Dishonest people who will do anything to make an extra dollar off of you. I highly recommend Boone Tire or another maintenance garage instead of Mr. Tire for pricing and honesty.Every time I go in for an oil change, something new is wrong with my car. This time it was my brake fluid and coolant. While I was waiting, a maintenance guy told another woman the exact same thing about her brake fluid, word for word.2 hours later as I paid my bill, they told me my brake pads had to be replaced at my next oil change (5000 miles). When brake pads are replaced, they also flush the brake fluid. Why would they recommend I flush my fluid now, if I was that close to paying for a whole set of new brakes?Was convenient to book an appointment online but not worth the headache. Go to Boone Tire, they will help you fix the issues that are actually necessary.

The sign on door and internet said they were open on Sundays. I drove to Boone from Blowing Rock, on a bad tire and no one was there. No one answered phone. Went back at noon, still no one thereAnd no one answered phone.

On our annual ski trip we had a flat tire that needed to be repaired. Thankfully Mr. Tire was just around the corner. The young gentleman Dakota helped us out. He was able to get a tire that match as close as the current tires, and got the tire repaired about one hour. Awesome service, and fantastic experience. We are in Boone from out of town. We are actually staying in West Jefferson, which is a good 45 minutes away. Its cold and raining buckets. We end up with a split in our tire right as we roll into town.So, thank goodness theres an open tire store ( the only tire store open), right? Wrong!They refused to help us. Wouldnt even consider it. Too busy. They will be happy to get to us some time tomorrow if we just leave our car in their parking lot over night. Thats not really a viable option for us. They watched us trying to put air in our failing tire with our little portable car air compressor in the rain. Two employees kept looking out of their dry, comfy bay and laughing at what was going on in the parking lot. I can only assume they were laughing at us.So, avoid this place if you have an emergency. They will not be a knight on a white horse for you. They will, however, revel in your despair.

Long story short, had to pay for two alignments in a week and a half because they got the first one wrong. An idiot with a tape measure can set the toe alignment better than these people. Will not be going back.

My dilemma was where to take my project. I,m working on custom wheels for a Subaru Forester an have over $400.00 invested in one enkei rim an a single Falken tire. Was scared to let anyone mount this. Not only was Mr. Tire the first one I called they had a Mag Machine made to mount custom wheels. I dropped off an was ready when I returned.. 5 Stars from me. Wonderful experience here! My tire went flat and had to get a spare on it. Came here not too long before they closed and they figured everything out for me. Patched up my tire and slapped it back on my car. I was able to get back to work within 20 minutes. Extremely thankful for the amazing customer service!!!

This company advertises on here and their shop that they are open on Sunday, they even gave me a appointment for Sunday just to get there and find out they are closed.

I called the day before and told them I needed a diagnostic on my car. They told me not to make an appointment because there would be multiple technicians the next day. I offered to make an appointment and the guy on the phone told me no, so I brought my car in the next day. He told me they would not look at my car because they were too busy. When I told him I called and they told me not to make an appointment, the guy told me I should have came in earlier and it was my fault because I brought it at the wrong time. Worst experience, I will not bring my car here ever again.

Took care of my daughter when she had a flat and we were two hours away. So glad to know there are trustworthy places like this for her to go to when we can’t be there to help. Got her patched up and back on the road in no time! Very thankful!

Looking for a basic emission and safety inspection completed in a timely manner? DON’T turn to Mr. Tire on Blowing Rock Rd.Arriving for my scheduled inspection, I was promptly processed, where I reiterated to the employee that I needed to leave by a certain time. He assured me service would be completed in plenty of time.Upon waiting an hour, my car hasn’t been touched. I am now waiting in line to let the cashier know I need the keys as I’m now running late. While waiting in line, a worker goes out and now begins servicing my vehicle! My vehicle is now being serviced for the first time an hour and a half after arriving for my SCHEDULED appointment.The cashier explains that if a car ahead in line fails inspection, it delays the service of vehicles behind it. Why allot appointment times for a service you can’t place a remotely accurate timeframe on? More importantly why was this possibility not explained to me upon arriving at check-in? Lacking basic customer service knowledge, no apology was offered for this wasted time.I cancelled the servicing, and took my money to Idol’s Tire Center. Calling ahead they allowed me to walk-in for service. Within 25 minutes I was in and out. I cannot recommend Mr. Tire on Blowing Rock Rd. If you’re on a schedule look elsewhere, Mr. Tire is too busy operating on their own time!

Ive been going to this location for my tires and some general work for the last two years. Chad and the rest of the team have done an exceptional job. I was very impressed recently when my car was nearly undrivable when I drove it into their lot. They thoroughly looked it over and told me the work that needed to be done. Even though I ultimately decided that because the car was so old I did not want them to proceed with any work on it, they were willing to allow me to have it towed from their facility to a friends garage. They do great work and truly care about their customers and this community. I will continue to take my vehicles here for their tires. They have proved themselves many times over. Very grateful. Thanks for the work you do and the concern you show.

Took two hours to get a tire plugged. Dude behind the counter is not accommodating.

What a racket! Go online and schedule appointment and make tire selection. I arrive and the store doesnt even have the tires I wanted. Took my brakes off without me asking so they could force another service on me. Had to wait on an alignment rack just so they could tell me I need an alignment. They made it seem like the alignment was included. Ended up spending 4 hours waiting on a set of tires. Ridiculous!

Best customer service I’ve had in a while. They talked to me and help me find more problems that needed to be fixed with my car than I thought. Great prices and they know exactly what they are doing. One of the best experiences I’ve had at a mechanic shop.

NO MASKS!! The person at the desk was without a mask because he “left his at home.” A worker walking through the property also had no mask on. I was told to arrive at a particular time in order to get a ride back to my work, I planned for this the day before. I called just before leaving work to verify a ride was still available, confirmed. When I arrived I was told there was no ride for quite awhile. Between the lack of safety and poor planning, I’ll go somewhere else.

I came in right before closing with an extremely flat tire and they were kind enough to help me! Such a kind staff! I will definitely be back for more car services.

We truly appreciate the help of Mr. Tire. However, there were some high points and low points to our service. We (my husband, myself, and our toddler) were traveling home from an out of town day trip when we got a flat tire (no spare in our newer car) about an hour from home. It was about 5 pm and we were stranded. At this point, we weren’t sure if/how we were going to get home. We were able to contact our insurance’s roadside assistance to secure a tow, but there were no repair shops open near us so the 15 mile tow (further away from home) to Mr. Tire was literally our ONLY option unless we spent the night until another shop opened in the morning. We called to make sure they’d be able to help us and were somewhat given the run around about whether they’d be able to do anything at the hour we’d be arriving (around 6:30 PM, they closed at 7 PM), which I understand, but we hoped they’d be gracious since this was a minor emergency. It was made to sound like they were so backed up it was unlikely they’d be able to get to us. Since we had no other options, we headed there anyway and, even when we we got there, they acted like they didn’t know if they could help us. We did, however, get service and were actually in and out before their closing time. I’m sure they put our service tonight in front of others on the docket for the next day. We were not looking forward to having to tow our toddler (car seat and all) into another vehicle to stay away from home for the night over a flat tire and were glad we didn’t have to. We owe this to Gurney (at the front desk) and Bryan (service tech/mechanic). They were great and helped with a willing heart. Chad was also at the front desk, but was actually quite unfriendly. I have a feeling he was who I spoke with on the phone initially. He seemed pretty indifferent and didn’t seem to care if we made it home that night or not. All in all, even if somewhat grudgingly, they did save us a lot of trouble.

Bought 3 new tires for my truck and was assured of their quality, got home and one of them was completely flat.Im a cautious and slow driver that goes just in and out of town. Just want to see this mended so I can move on with my life.

Visiting from Raleigh and unfortunately ended up with a piece of metal on the curve edge of a rear tire on my Husband’s two week old 2020 Jeep and the folks at Mr. Tire took care of it for me. Switched it out to the donut for free as they didn’t have a matching tire in stock. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone.

I have a very good friend who was taken advantage of by the staff at Mr. Tire. My friend is a disabled veteran, and does her best to get by. She went in to get a simple inspection, and was convinced that she needed $700 worth of repair and tires before she could pass inspection. Family and friends have called to sort the issue out only to be told that the specific manager that handled the transaction isnt there right now. Shame on you Mr. Tire!!!

I would recommend this place to anyone. I’ve been taking my car there for years now and have been treated great every time I’ve been. Eric Burns and Jordan Sweet have always been honest and trust worthy to deal with. Absolutely upstanding guys who give excellent customer service no matter how busy. This place has the smartest and most professional techs around. Excellent service all the way around.

Always speedy and very friendly, courteous service! Always get my car done early and find some coupon for my oil change. Took time to explain the differences and benefits to different types of oil changes.

My experiences here have always been top-notch. Most recently (today), I suddenly needed a flat tire repaired and, even though they were incredibly busy, they were able to work me into their schedule. The employees at Mr. Tire are always kind, honest, and knowledgeable!

They will try to take advantage of people so be warned. The work they do is good, and done properly. Good work is appreciated but lying and being dishonest is what makes this review 1 star. Immaturity by managers may be the problem, who knows? Advise you to stay away unless you go in and boss them around, only way to get through the hard headed managers. Honest business is more successful than unethical business.

Great service and good prices

I had an appointment the other day in the morning time, but the manager, Chris, let me know that they had some technicians out of the office and that it might take some extra time. I told them it was fine and I was happy to wait.They kept me in the loop and were really friendly! The service was great and I really enjoyed Chris and the district manager that was helping out for the week, Jeff. Great customer service and a great oil change!

The Mr. Tire store manager, Eric Burns, was a huge help to me on Saturday with my tire repair. He was kind, polite, effective, efficient, knowledgeable and got me back on the road home in less than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Eric said it was his last day with the company. They are missing out on a great guy and now have big shoes to fill. Good luck in your next adventure, Eric!

Best car service in town.

Hit something in the road and needed an emergency repair! They were able to help me and fit me in before driving home six hours away!

I have been going there for years for inspections and tires...back when it was Clark Tire and have had good experiences. But I had an appointment for 8am today for inspection...I arrived 7 minutes late (full disclosure) at which time they were not busy...just one person in waiting lounge (with TV on FOX news..ugh). They took my car in...and I waited. And waited. And waited. Other customer came, were helped and left, but still I waited. Finally, at 10:15 the man came out and said my car was ready . Said it needed shocks, brakes and such. I told him that I had just had new shocks put on in the past year, so he offered to show me the problem since the car was still on the lift. We went out and he took me to a black Honda on the lift....Well, MY Honda is a blue Element...which was parked out by the front entrance. It was a rather funny mistake...I was happy that MY car had passed inspection and was ready to go! To be fair, I believe the man who was helping me was very new there and he was nice and very knowledgable in helping the other customers...so no complaints about the staff. I think it had just gotten really busy and confusing. BUT, I still dont understand why it took over 2 hours for just an inspection when in the past it never took more than 30 or 45 minutes. Maybe someone did not show up for work.....Glad it happened to me and not to someone who had to be somewhere.

They fixed my tire even though I got there as they were closing, which was very kind. Super fast and professional!
