I have recently submitted a formal complaint to the corporate Circle K office. Instead of reconstructing my entire experience, I will post my letter that was sent to corporate. But for those who want a quick rundown:The TL;DR is that an exceptionally rude and dismissive cashier named Jo Ann worked yesterday evening and refused to print a receipt for me from a gas pump that was out of paper (or jammed). She raised her voice numerous times and blamed me. Her lack of knowledge of Circle Ks cash register was not the issue for me; her terrible customer service skills is what I find appalling. I would recommend not leaving new staff like Jo Ann to be alone in a busy gas station if they do not know how to operate the equipment. Further, if someone is going to interact with customers, they should be capable of maintaining their composure, whether they are stressed or not. I am a composed and kind individual, and I spoke to her graciously throughout the entire encounter. The way I was treated was both unwarranted and--in my opinion--worthy of her receiving further training before she should be allowed to work the register again. Now, here is part of the formal letter that I sent for those wanting the full scoop:I would like to file a complaint against an employee named Jo Ann working at Circle K location #141. I went inside the establishment to inquire if one of the cashiers could print me a receipt for Pump #1. Jo Ann was the cashier on duty, with one other woman standing behind the counter (neither speaking nor wearing a lanyard). I shared with Jo Ann that the pump didnt print my receipt, and I kindly asked if she could print one for me. Her first response was that the issue was my fault, and I clearly must have pressed NO when it asked. I corrected her and shared that I did select YES, but it didnt print. Either way, whether I had pressed the wrong button or not, I have never had issues at any other gas station when requesting that a cashier print a receipt for a pump. Her first reaction should not be to blame me; she should be capable of maintaining her composure and honoring a simple request.Sadly, that was not the case. Jo Ann immediately began to berate me and state that she couldnt do it, and she would not help me. I asked if she could call a coworker to see if they could help her figure out the system. She raised her voice at me and said something along the lines of, How dare you imply that I dont know how to do my job? Her becoming angry and defensive was uncalled for and certainly not warranted for the level of difficulty of the request being issued.Nevertheless, she and I stood there for about five minutes with her telling me she would not help me. I finally had to phone my company attorney in order to get her to issue me a hand written receipt for the amount that I purchased from the gas pump. I have the receipt as proof (you can see her handwriting and the Kangaroo Express #141 stamp if you would like me to scan and email it to an official Circle K representative) if needed that she was, in fact, the cashier that had conducted herself so unprofessionally and terribly. A simple review of the store camera will also satisfy the matter, as I have provided both the date and time of the occurrence. There were witnesses that could also attest to my calm disposition and polite nature when requesting her assistance. At the very least, the store cameras can show my calm body language juxtaposed to her erratic mannerisms and angry face.I would like to speak with someone regarding this counter, as I think Jo Anns behavior is deserving of review and follow up. She should not be allowed to treat customers this way, especially when the request made (i.e. printing a receipt) is not a monumental one, nor was the request made with malice.
Charged me $55 for an energy drink, and have tried contacting corporate, and the store itself, and no answer. Id like to change my review, but until I get some help, Im not changing it. It was April 2and at 3:02 p.m. I need a Receipt.
Not the best selection of food and drink, but just about everything else makes up for it
