I went there for car fueling purposes,it was very busy around 6pm.The clerk was polite,the gas station was properly cleaned.

I used their service through AAA to replace my flat. They were super nice and prompt and changed the tire quickly. Cant speak to their repair services

I told them what I wanted fixed and I supplied my own part and they insisted they will not fix my car unless I pay a $115 diagnostic fee so then THEY can tell me whats wrong with MY car and give me a price ontop of the $115 fee....never again...the guy who answered was very rude.. I record all my calls I wish I can post the ridiculous shyt I heard about denying me service unless I pay tht fee

Had my 1995 lexus LS400 towed to akiki because it wouldnt start and the check engine light was on. Car runs and drives smoothly now they did a really fine job fixing my car. I will definitely go back in the future. I promise you will not be disappointed if you try them

Believe me when I tell you that this is one of the worst shops that Ive ever been to I went in there to have a air conditioning compressor replaced they gave me an estimate I buy believe close to $1,500. I had to have the car fixed so initially I said okay, I brought the car in there on a Wednesday the guy told me it would be ready by Friday. I call up on Friday, they tell me my car wont be ready until Monday because the part hasnt come in yet. I called again spoke to another guy he tells me that the cars up on the lift and that it probably will be ready around between 3 and 5. When I called him I was right outside I looked in the back of the shop and my car was parked in back of the shop and it didnt look like it had even been touched. So I call back again and he still insist that theyre working on the vehicle. By this point I tell him dont worry about it Im coming to pick up the car. I asked them for the bill which is $385 and they really didnt even look at the car. It took a day and a half for them to tow my car back to where they got it, so they charge me for the tow back and forth and $ 110 for diagnosis. When I looked at the bill they were charging me $888 for the compressor I went and bought one down the street at an auto parts store for $381. To make a long story short if you really want to get ripped off cohere they will take care of you without any problem bad place dont go there!

AAA road service uses Akiki auto repair and they have always been great. Just recently had a dead battery and was stuck on busy Centre st. My car was doa and I had an appointment to get to. I called Akiki - they were here in a matter of minutes! Jumped the car. Tested the battery. I needed a new one, which I had suspected. They put in a new battery, told me to run the car for a bit, which I did. It starts like a dream now. They were wonderful! Sometimes...(ok, lets be honest here) often guys can talk down to women about car problems. This guy did not at all. In fact, he answered all my questions and reassured me it was only an old battery. Kudos to Akiki!

I had the absolute worst experience with this company. I was connected with them through AAA when my car failed to start. First, the driver (Joel) went to the wrong location and did not reach out to me when I was not there. I had to go through AAA to tell them the driver had marked himself as arrived and not in my location. They reached out to him, and he arrived well beyond the estimated wait time. When he finally arrived, he appeared physically ill (stuffy nose, constantly using a tissue) and was not wearing a mask. He was dispatched for battery service, but then informed me he didnt have a replacement battery with him. He told me it would take him 10 minutes to go get one. It took him around 45 minutes, and this is after I had already spent well over an hour waiting on his first arrival. I also had my 4 year old with me, waiting by the side of the road.When he arrived, he ended up getting in an argument with a passerby about wearing a mask. He finally attempted to replace the battery and that ended up not being the issue, so he called a tow truck. He told me I was fine to leave, so I did. AAA contacted me a few hours later asking me where the key was, because the driver had not informed them that I was leaving. Joel had apparently left the key in the drivers side door (in the keyhole). The car was parked in a very high traffic area, so anyone could have gone into the car and taken anything inside! AAA finally managed to get the car towed after several phone calls and a big headache.This morning, we went to check the battery ourselves only to discover that Joel took our battery and replaced it with someone elses old (smaller) battery! So, I guess the company decided to keep our car battery!Edited to say: The owner responded to this review below to make it appear as though he wanted to right this wrong. I did reach out to him, but he did not return my calls. Eventually, I was able to speak to someone at the business about getting my battery back and (after they requested a photo) the business sent someone to put my old battery back in my car. The person they sent was very nice.

I like the staff always professional and great work done all the time.

My ball joint failed and left my car stranded. I got connected to Akiki through AAA and their driver Brandon showed up earlier than the ETA and busted his butt to properly and safely load my vehicle and got it home. Once there he went above and beyond with unloading it and popping the wheel back on so I could fix it up. Akiki is a great service center and they are lucky to have Brandon!

I had to call AAA and when she said that Akiki was coming I knew that it would be punctual and that they would come before the expected arrival the guy that came was professional so I was very happy. The guy came and started my car right up and he was humble and kind and efficient. I would take my car there anytime as my late husband told me about them. I had totally forgotten until I heard the name I would recommend these people to anyone as they are honest fair and do a good job. Thats a hard thing to find in the Boston area.

Did work not authorized, charged $150 for a tow when I had it towed with my AAA membership. Had my car for three weeks and never even put it on a lift which should have been done day one. Owner called me with all kinds of excuses for all these different charges. Stay far away from this place!!!

Tried to bring in my car to check a check engine light Tuesday at 845 am. They dont have any availability to run a diagnostic all week. Im a new customer and was hoping to establish a relationship with an auto repair shop. Certainly wont be doing that here

Brought my cars for Mass state inspection on two occasions - one in the morning at 7am and one later in the afternoon around 3:30pm. My vehicles were taken in right away and issued a new sticker within 30 minutes. The waiting area was clean and comfortable.

I had 2 vehicles stuck in the mud, 1 4x4 truck and 1 sedan. I called AAA, they came twice but they didn’t put any effort to help. On the third day, I called Akiki, Many arrived after 45 minutes. He cooperated with us and helped us pulled both of the vehicles out, he even helped us push the car.Great experience with Akiki. Highly recommended!

Just plain ole good

Been going here a long time. Always been a good experience. I found them to be honest and forthright, no nonsensical attempts to upsell unnecessary services. I recently decided that, since my vehicle is 6 years old I would stop using my dealer and Akiki Auto Repair will be my shop of choice for all maintenance and repair of my vehicle.

I am a senior citizen and after being home for almost two months, due to the circumstances, I had to go to American Food Basket to get some groceries that I needed. I have my Handicap plaque and forgot to hang it up. I was not more than 20 minutes in the store and when I came out with ten bags, I found out that my car has been towed by Akiki Towing. This place is about four blocks from the supermarket. When I called and explained the situation to them, the person kept saying I am sorry and it costs you $149.00 to get the car out. It was around 80 degrees outside and had to walk with all my bags to get my car. When I got there, the person took a long time to help me out. - It is very unconsidered to be towing cars on the circumstances we are living now, luckily I had my card to pay and take my car. - I have been to Akiki for service with my car in many occasions but now II would not recommend it to anyone.

We had to tow our Honda Fit twice, once to a mechanic and then to a dealership for trade in. Kevin was our driver both times, and hes absolutely fantastic. Hes polite, fast, and efficient. I highly recommend their tow services.

First time customer. I called to see if they were busy for inspection sticker. He was pleasant and said come in anytime and told me upfront what is expected. When I got there, I received immediate attention and made myself comfortable with free beverage (water,coffee,tea). Very clean. While waiting,I observed other customers coming in and they were extremely happy. No grumbling. My car was returned in excellent condition. I thought it was nice of them to put my registration paper in a plastic holder saying thank you on the back of it with thier company name. Thank you, Akiki for a pleasant experience.

Drive right passed this place and dont stop! I am appalled by the level of indecency of the representative and mechanic at this shop. I was told that my car was unsafe to drive by the representative, per the mechanics diagnosis. So much so, he said I am surprised you havent killed yourself or someone else. I was scared and mortified because I felt lucky that this wasnt the case. BUT as the rep began to tell me the problems with my car from the loose tire knuckle, the rusted emergency brake, and the hanging calipers, he then began to tell me I also needed new rotors and brake pads. That was the RED FLAG! I took my keys and left, I had just got my brakes done 3 weeks ago. I went to two other mechanics to verify that these problems did or didnt exist. THEY DIDNT EXIST! The only problem was the snapped cord from the hood release, which was the original reason I went to get my car fixed. This place will try to bleed your pockets and have completely dishonest employees. I will never return!!!

They came out promptly and the driver kevin was a phenomenal operator and had the pick up truck on the flat bed in minutes. Super nice guy, would call again.

We had a good experience with this shop twice. Both times was only for a sticker. Surprisingly both times were less that 20 minutes and no trying to sell me anything. I guess I will see them next year

Im updating this review and added 2 stars because the owner seemed genuinely interested in explaining why my car was returned without my initial problem fixed but a big billHe offered to help resolve my issue with the car and his companys customer service.. I may give them another shot in which case I will update this postBut I will likely seek out a new mechanic who doesnt have so much overhead that they charge 100$ for a returning customers diagnosis. (To diagnose something I already paid to have diagnosed with no success)

Emmanuel arrived promptly and knew exactly where to take me to get a new tire quickly and affordabley... A week ago I ask for them to check my brakes and they told me it was fine. Today I was there and they told me I need to change my brakes as soon as possible. It looks like they cant figure out if my brakes need work or not. Or maybe they should hire people that knows what theyre doing!

Horrible shop these people are thieves. I needed to replace the fuel pump and they stole 9 gallons of gas oh it was misplaced.They insist on doing more unneeded work than you go in for. They couldnt even use the key to unlock the gas cap. They tore it off and charged me $24.00 for gas cap and also had to replace the filler neck at an additional cost. They even punctured the gas tank. Now it leaks every time I fill it. Small claims here I come. they can go suck eggs I will never step foot on the property again. Seems like they want to try and screw everybody in the neighborhood from what Ive been told, all the way from the gas station down to the auto repair. Its a shame. They were supposed to be a local company that works with the community, not against it. They sell some of the most expensive gas on Hyde Park Ave.Its too bad!

I was visiting family in MA and was heading back to NY today but my car did not start. I called AAA and Akikin Towing was the company that responded. I am very pleased with their service. The 2 young men I dealt with were friendly and professional. I was quoted a price to tow my car back to NY and the price did not differ when I went to pay for the service. I would recommend and use Akiki Towing again!

Very dishonest place and unprofessional not a place for business. I went in for a tire change and I came out with bigger issues. I noticed they lied about parts I actually didn’t need after I got several second opinions from reputable sources . My car didn’t need an alignment when I brought it in but when I picked it up my steering wheel was upside down and spinning on its own. Also I had bumpers replaced before going in and they loosened my bumpers and fender as it was hanging off when I got my car back. They are out for your money not for the customers best interest.

I was very stressed out when my car went dead on me on the road south of Boston. I called road service with AT&T and waited for hours till after midnight and no one showed up. I took an uber home then called them again in the morning and waited for a couple of hours with no show. Then I called Akiki. A young man, DJ Jackson, showed up in less that 20 minutes with a can do attitude. Hitched the car and secured it in few minutes and off to the dealers auto service. DJ was very knowledgeable of the area, cooperative, and professional. I did mention to him that I very much appreciated his promptness and service.

They towed my car with my purse, my kids food and my phone ....went to help my aunt in the house n came back n they took my car! Straight inconsiderate 😒 😤

This place is the worst, If you want to get robbed 1035 Hyde Park ave is where you go. Went in for oil change and sticker, 1200.00 later car is still not inspected! then they want to charge you 35.00 to test drive work they supposed to have fixed!!! Now a part they supposed to have fixed twice has broken again and there famous words bring it in and we have to look at it only to have the car all day again. Still no sticker after a month and a half!! The only good thing about this place is Tiffany and James, great customer service, owner / manager different story favorite word is sorry.Anyone looking for good customer service, please steal Tiff and James they dont deserve the punishment ! Keeps submitting tow truck wait times to AAA that are routinely AT LEAST a factor of 2 too small. Yesterday, at 6pm, I am told it will be 4 hours. After many calls back, I give up at midnight. Today, I called at 2:30pm and was told 4:38. When I called back, this somehow become 6:20. Maybe theyre underpitching times to get more referrals, but its infuriating and is a great way to get a day wasted.

Im genuinely confused as to what they actually did to my car. They had my car for over two weeks and only managed to properly put on new tires and a windshield. They also worked on my rear breaks but not even a couple days after picking up my car, the brake light came on. What truly baffles me is that they managed to fix my headlights even after telling me the part they needed to fix it arrived broken and they had to re-order it. I was called on a Saturday and was told my car was ready and I could pick it up. 10 minutes later they called me back and told me my car wasnt ready and that they were unable to fix the headlights due to the broken part. During that time they also told me my car would be ready that following Monday. When Monday came around, I was called again that morning and was told that they were unable to fix the headlights because the part they reordered arrived broken again, and they would have to reorder another. The next day (Tuesday) I called again in the afternoon and they told me the part wouldnt arrive until Wednesday and my car should by ready by Thursday afternoon. They had my car for almost 16 days at this point and were unable to find the part they needed to fix my headlights; or so they have said. So, I ignored their time estimate and picked up my car that Tuesday before they were supposedly able to fix the headlight. When I picked up my car, my headlights were working perfectly fine, so I was a bit confused. Then I realized the release latch on my hood was broken, which it wasnt when I dropped it off. So I just assumed that they werent in fact waiting for the parts to fix my headlights, but instead for the parts to fix my hood, which they broke. I work for Enterprise and have dealt with a plethora of body shops and this is by far my worst experience. I paid over 1300 for them to work on my vehicle and still received horrible customer service and was fed lies through out the entire process. Currently have my car at another body shop getting my brakes worked on. I Didnt even bother trying to get refunded or reevaluated for the brake work Akiki performed because I was genuinely scared of them retaliating by doing something harmful to my car. They were transparently annoyed that I came to pick my car up earlier than they said I should have. But I only did so because they were clearly not being honest with me.Thank you for disassembling and reassembling my 2002 Jeep Liberty with 169k miles on it. ;)

I was unfortunately having car issues and had to call AAA and they sent Akiki. I cant say enough how the service was all around perffffeeeecttttttt. DJ was AWESOME. The tow car was clean and smelled good (thats a first) but aside from that he was quick-(I was told 1hr he was there in 20mins). He had the car on the lift in less than 5mins and he was extremely nice. DEFINITELY would recommend Akiki Towing.

Came from DMV confused about the inspection process. I was bounced by a bunch of other inspection location as it was close to 4:30. Then I found Akikis. They had me in and out in 20 minutes to perform the inspection. They even placed the Massachusetts plates on my car without having to ask. Kudos for your excellent service!

I had bad experience for my car before and I went for a simple oil change and they said they are to busy.. That I should return the next day. I told my man I has bad experiences at that shop very unprofessional.. Im not sure if Ive ever posted a review. In any case, I will post one today.Ive been bringing my vehicle to Akiki for over a decade. In general, the service Ive received over the years has always been great. I very recently...this week in fact, had my vehicle serviced. It took longer than expected and in the meantime I had to rely on a rental. The overall service was costly. But by no means, did I feel ripped off or that I paid more than what the work was worth. I was informed that the work would be labor intensive.The work was finally completed and I was able to pick up my car and leave the rental in care of Akiki to be picked up later by the rental company. A convenience that I very much appreciated.After being in possession of my car again. I noticed something off that was not a problem I had prior to placing my car in care of Akiki. I brought the problem to their attention and even spoke to the owner directly. He advised me to bring it in to take a look. Needless to say, I was annoyed and frustrated that I would be needing to bring my vehicle back after not having it for nearly a week and having the expense of the repair in addition to the expense of my rental. I was thinking...there is absolutely no way that I am going to accept or bear any cost to anything wrong with my vehicle upon picking it up that wasnt wrong prior to me dropping it off!!!I met with the owner after bringing my car back the next day. We talked about the problem and he was able to resolve the issue right on the spot.The purpose of my review is to point out and shed light on the fact that sometimes things do happen coincidentally as it was mentioned to me during my meeting with the owner. I had a preconceived notion that may or may not have been right. Coupled with the fact that I just parted with a good chunk of my money due to my circumstances as a whole. I no longer believe that the tech who may have worked on my car was to blame for the subsequent problem, nor do I believe it was the owners fault.Going forward as a customer, I want to remember that before I go online to write a review fueled by my anger, frustration and circumstances, that I write a review fueled by facts.If you are looking for a local neighborhood automotive shop to provide you with great service and work done with integrity and understanding...stop by Akiki.

I havent been there yet. Just wanted to commend a tow truck driver of theirs. Today a lady locked her baby in a car. Their truck happened by. The lady had called the fire department who are always very prompt. Before they get their equipment off the truck the tow driver had the door open (2 mins)max. He was offered money which he declined. But he did accept the hug from the grateful,worried mother.

I saw an ignorant driver toss out a bunch of trash from an akiki white tow truck on the highway exiting 95s to 93s at 1230pm. I cant beleive people are that irresponsible with the environment- especially someone in a work truck.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!Went for an inspection sticker and the guy who brought my car into the bay broke both my drivers side window control and passengers side control (which I did not notice until I had a passenger in my car the next day) I spoke with a girl with glasses at the front desk and she went to the back and spoke with him. She took my number down and said the manager would call me back. Which never happend. When I noticed the window control on the drivers side was damaged I spoke to the guy who did it off to tje side as not to cause a scene. I asked him calmly and said that mistakes happen. Not knowing he broke both sides. He told me he knew nothing about it. He lied strait to my face. I knew that it definitly wasnt like thay because I smoke so naturally roll my window down as I drive and so does my passenger. I never recieved a call from the manager or anyone. I would advise anyone to avoid this shop if this is what will happen when you go in for an inspection sticker.
