If they dont have it you dont need it. A wonderful neighborhood store to make your life easier living in the city.No food, just tools and supplies for all you projects.
Pleasant and service-oriented staff. And they found everything I needed. What a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city!
Has most of the things you would need and a very helpful staff.
The service here is amazing! Every city needs a local hardware store to provide all the odds and ends you need in your home. This is Bostons best!
This is the best hardware store Ive been to. The prices are very fair, they have a great selection, and the people working there were super helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They worked with me to find what I needed, even though I wasnt exactly sure what that was going in. Ill definitely be back!
This place rules. Walk me through my options (and give great recommendations) for any project imaginable. Also always stocked on anything you need for the home - and the best quality. Also, delightfully strong gift selection.
The heart of beacon hill. Extraordinary range of products, superb team who can provide invaluable advice and opinions, including connections and recommendations if you need services or help with anything home or hardware related. Owned by the Gurnon Family, and operated with love and care. LOVE Jacks Hardware!!!
Good store in downtown for tools
Nicest people and the store has just about everything you’re looking for
The shop is a tourist trap! Basic products cost twice as much as in any other shop. And the prices are not even properly indicated on every product so you only find out at the cashier.
Family owned hardware store. They always have what I am looking for!
This is a lovely place that has just about everything. It’s an Ace Hardware location technically and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable. They can copy keys and also keep them on file for you in case you lose one. Have a paint mixing spot in the back too.
I love this Store so much. They are infinitely helpful, they have tools for you to rent, they ask helpful questions about the project to guide you in the right direction. Wonderful service and despite being a little store has everything you could possibly need.
I am grateful to have this hardware store close to me. This place has knowledgeable personnel that provides excellent service. They have quality products with unbeatable prices. The nursery has a wide selection of plants and soils. Enjoy shopping here for my house needs.
Great selection for home improvement and general home goods. The best part is the staff though. From the owner to every clerk they are eager to help and knowledgeable
Moved my daughter into her studio and needed help on a project. Abigail and Jack were very helpful and caring. Nice people and they know their trade well. They rent drills too which was helpful. Thanks!
Helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a cornucopia of all the hardware supplies youd possibly need.
Great store with every employee super knowledgeable about basic parts and home repair nessesities, i always head to charles st supply when i find myself in a bind! Thanks for all the help and effort guys &gals!
Efficient, helpful staff
Excellent location for the well stocked hardware store.
Friendly staff. Very helpful at finding the right parts and tools.
Very nice proprietors and assistful staffing.
Outstandingly helpful staff. Extremely knowledgeable. Great selection of home wares, paint and parts to repair and refurnish my apartment.
Might be a nice place but I should’ve called ahead. They closed 5 minutes early on this quiet Sunday.
Very helpful
Best prices Ive found. Great staff.
Great local hardware store, it looks small on the outside but its pretty big inside lots of products. The staff are very friendly and helpful not trying to sell you something but willing to help you on what you need. Should be your first stop if are in need of a hammer, grill or just need to have a key made.
Based on the location, I would have guessed that this was a home goods store more so than a hardware store. You know what I mean--every once in a while you were into a hardware store that really only sells dorm decor (rugs, wastebaskets, wall hangings) but this place is the real deal. You can buy hardware here--nuts and bolts hand saws and all kinds of stuff. And you can get pretty decent advice from the people who work here as well, which is an important quality in a hardware store.
The staff is helpful and friendly, they go out of their way to make sure you get what you are looking for. The assortment is vast. I never left the store without what I was looking for. I always feel welcomed and I know that they are going to help me. The price is right. The store is charming and you feel that you are part of the neighborhood.
The owner is a caring and considerate individual. He came to my rescue as a stranded tourist and went out of his way to help me. Kudos for being a great human being!
This is what a hardware store should be! The staff is amazingly helpful and knowledgeable, and can actually be found (unlike the big box stores). It may be small, but they have everything you need for apartment/condo living.
Super helpful and friendly! Well stocked with all the essentials and quick to help you find them.
The very best of small business in America... they seem to have everything.... and the staff is helpful, informed and professional....a Beacon Hill treasure.
Needed some help figuring out how to hang shelves in my apartment for a weird situation. The guys here were friendly, helpful and very informative informative. If I need more help with hardware in the future, I will definitely be coming back
You can find whatever passes on your mind, from plant nutritions to screws.
Everything you want from your local hardware store. Friendly guys willing to help out and get you what you need. They know more about what we need than we do, and thank goodness! We know we can trust them to help us out with whatever it is!
Friend needed to borrow pliers to get a tough clasp apart. Guy behind the counter was top notch, got it apart perfectly with no damage. He didnt seem put out in the slightest either.
Awesome, friendly hardware store!Girl who helped me was wicked nice!Yeah!
Very nice store. Kind, charming and helpful people! Thank you!
Very knowledgeable staff, although this place may be small I can assure you that it has everything you need. Great customer service!
Very friendly and helpful! Was recently in looking for lightbulbs, but needed them on a dinner switch. The employee saw my confusion and without my needing to ask he came right over so see what I was looking for, knew exactly which one I needed, and it works great. Have also used their key service and its quick and easy, they even cut my different keys onto different metals without my needing to ask so I would know which was for the front door vs apartment. Perfect little neighborhood hardware shop that has way more supplies than you would expect!
Much to my chagrin, I fumbled a Cuisinart glass coffee pot during cleaning and it shattered into about 200 pieces on the kitchen floor. Before ordering one online, it occurred to me that I should stop in at Charles St. Supply...and there on the shelf was a replacement carafe. Just another of the many examples of why CSS is invaluable.
Pretty convenient but expensive. Also not open on Thursdays before 8am contrary to the sign. Had waited 30 minutes this morning to finally show up only to tell me I cant get paint till later in the day. Will go elsewhere instead
This place has pretty much everything youd expect a hardware store to sell, and more. Its worth a stroll through the aisles, whether you think you need something or not.The staff is very friendly, and its so nice (that is, charming and pleasant) to go to a small local place as opposed to the giant chain hardware stores. They have an excellent return policy should something need to be exchanged or returned. And, if you ride a bike, and have a Bicycle Benefits sticker, you get 10% off your purchase.
The only hardware store they would go out of their way for you employees the best and well educated in their products
Grear service
This place is as local as they come, the staff is awesome, friendly and patient with all types of questions.
Evidently, its easier to get a 9-volt battery at CVS. Like most front desks on Charles Street, greetings and peripheral vision are lacking.
Amazing customer service- would highly recommend!
I needed a 4x4 cut down to 2 thickness. I called all around town and no one was able to help me. Charles Street Supply Jose used a table saw and produced a clean block of wood. Very friendly and went the extra mile for me last minute. Thank God for old school mom and pop hardware stores.
Hands-down the best hardware shop in town, for humans and for dogs
Good place, you find everything there
Good selection of useful items and fast and friendly staff
Everyone there...AWESOME!!! KNOWLEDGEABLE & FRIENDLY
Jack and his team were very helpful with how to fix my door. Jack also showed my sons how to make copies of keys.
Amazing service!
The friendliest and funniest staff! But severely overpriced! They get 5 stars because of their character, and the store cat that walks around.
Extremely helpful hardware store with knowlegeable and freindly staff.
Wonderful small hardware store. Employees know the whole neighborhood and are trustworthy and knowledgable.
Stopped here while I was visiting my sister in Boston, to help her fix some things around her apartment. Charles Street Supply gave us great customer service and tips on our project.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Very convenient hardware store, prices are Boston prices but they have everything which is nice.
Very kind and caring staff, would give you the clothes off their back it would seem. Downhome place in an area that is the opposite.
Awesome hardware store!
Great local neighborhood hardware store.
Local. Better than decent.
Theyre the only hardware shop near the beacon hill area. thankfully they do have most household supplies you might need, but the prices are a bit high and the service is very hit-or-miss. sometimes theyve been very helpful with advice. other times i just get pointed towards the correct aisle and then ignored.
Called in asking if they have a part in stock. Took around five minutes to get the guy on the phone to understand what it was I wanted, with him checking for the wrong part twice. Finally he figures out what I need, and immediately says they have it, and to come in and pick it up. So I went in and looked around, and finally wound up asking someone, who went to look with me, and quickly told me that no, they dont have that part. It was a wasted trip because the guy on the phone couldnt be bothered to check the shelves when he found out what I actually needed. To top it off, the store was a mess. Inventory all over the place. It was difficult to squeeze past displays and boxes to get from section to section.
PRICE GOUGERS!!! I have NEVER paid more than $2.00 to have a house key made...$5.30...Are you kidding!!,,Next time people who work in the area,,wait till you go home..Home depot,,Lowes, Ace Hardware...What a mistake..thanks for reaching out,,i will be in touch.
Hands down my favorite store on Charles Street! These guys are super helpful and they have everything.
Great people. Perfect location for the Beacon Hill crowd.
People there are not helpful i was there last week i got inside no hi nothing then when i ask for help the didnt come even close to me i had to go next to desk to ask a question, so zero customer service .
The best.
A real hardware store!

Has everything.
