Recently bought a new Martin from Chad at Woodsongs. Great customer service and he made the deal worth it. I also put my old guitar up for consignment at the shop (they dont do trades) and it sold within a few days. Great shop for all of your acoustic needs. HB Woodsongs is wonderful! My son needed a guitar to keep his musical sanity during the Covid-19 pandemic in the fall of 2020 and they provided a lovely rental guitar to him. They even delivered it to his dorm! Highly recommend HB Woodsongs for their amazing staff and service.

I emailed late in the evening last weekend asking about consignment. I received a kind reply from Chris the following day with the info I needed.Popped in today with my bass clarinet and my husbands saxophone. The young man working the counter was very knowledgeable and honest. Chad, the manager, was also straight forward and courteous. They have someone to appraise instruments on site and they let me know right away what I could expect selling it with them. I found the price they decided on to be almost spot on with the research I did at home. Their compensation is also more than fair.They couldnt take the saxophone today, but gave me an idea of when I could come back to try again.I chose them because the reviews were great, and I was not disappointed. Great little music store!

My favorite music shop, I highly recommend HB Woodsongs -- going there feels more like stopping by to visit some friends than it does going into a store. They are always friendly and sales are extremely low-pressure. Theyll answer your questions if you have any, or just let you browse the floor as much as you want, checking out what they have to offer and trying out instruments to find one that works for your tastes, level and playing style. Ive bought my first ukulele from them in 2013 and have since purchased 2 guitars as well as numerous accessories and supplies. Rentals are also very straight-forward and theyll let you know exactly what to expect as far as cost and returns when the time comes.In my mind, when buying a musical instrument theres no substitute for being able to pick up the instrument and test it out yourself. Even within the same exact model there is variation, wood after all is a natural material with each piece having its own unique qualities.Being a relatively small shop, they dont always have what Im looking for. For example, they have a limited selection of microphones, amps and other pro-audio equipment, but even in those cases Ive been able to get a few of those items through them or theyve still been able to answer my questions and pointed me in the right direction when it wasnt something they carried or could get on special order.HB Woodsongs is not only a shop, but also a community of musicians -- there are regular monthly workshops at the shop that have helped me learn and improve as a musician. One is focused specifically on the ukulele while the other focuses on Bluegrass music of all acoustic instruments. They are great fun and very welcoming environment to explore new techniques such as soloing.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Weve got three instrument rentals (well actually 2 because the 3rd was just paid off, woot!). Pricing is competitive with other rental options. Maintenance for your instruments is also on sight with a contracted professional.We only have experience with the rentals, but that experience has been top notch all the way.

Theres a lot of reasons to give this place 5 stars. The customer service, the educated staff, the selections of instruments, the services they provide theyre mission. For all of these reasons and my personal experience I definitely wouldnt rate then below 5 stars.I had put a partial payment on a guitar with intent to finish paying for this guitar in the next couple of months to take it home. Life took some unexpected turns and I had a few months of medial issues and was unable to follow through. Furthermore I lost my job and insurance and needed to pay my medicals bills. After months of them waiting for me to pay for the other part of this guitar I had to ask them if they could refund the money I put down and return the guitar on the shelf. ( For people who arent in sales they just lost money that of time they could have sold this guitar). With no trouble at all they refunded me the money.Great people, good store. When I can afford to pick up a guitar again you bet your bottom dollar itll be from here.

Great range of instruments. Its rare to find a brick-and-mortar music store these days that can afford to stay in business - especially in a city with expensive rents like Boulder. Just got a beautiful octave mandolin there and my daughter rents a cello from them. Lets support local businesses!

One of the best parts about living in Boulder is having stores like Woodsongs in the mix. Ive been a resident here for almost 40 years and during that time my appreciation for the store, the quality instruments, the personal attention and interest shown by the staff has only grown by leaps and bounds. Many years ago when I wanted to rent a violin/fiddle and then later to purchase it, I never even considered having to travel far and wide (to Westminster, Denver) because Woodsongs had exactly what I wanted. And now, it is even better. Right here in Boulder; we have this amazing acoustic music shop!Over the years, my family and I have purchased guitars and ukuleles (and untold number of accessories) from Woodsongs and each time have been treated with caring regard by the staff; they know what a big deal it is to decide to bring a new instrument into your life. We have also taken advantage of the terrific musical instruction there AND the monthly jams. My violin students rent their instruments from HB Woodsongs, Ive bought two ukuleles, countless sets of strings, books, and accessories, and attend their monthly Ukulele Hootenanny, where Paul and Shawns expertise shines through.Last Spring when I need to get some major repair work done to my cello, they helped get it over to Woodsongs Lutherie (who also did an amazing job).I trust their expertise and knowledge for anything music-related.

Small but nice musical instruments stores. They dont have a lot of stuff (my only complaint), but you be able to find some accessories and also some high-end acoustic guitars. Salespersons are friendly and they also have a music school in this place.

I have been shopping at Woodsongs for years... It is truly an institution here in Boulder! Their sales people are never pushy and always helpful... Not something you see in sales these days which is refreshing! Each person that works there is very knowledgeable, not just some college kid punching the clock. If you are lucky enough, talk with their salesman Shawn, he knows a thing or two about guitars! Hell even strum along with you, but be prepared, the guy rips! I have recommended them to many of my musical friends. You will see local acts, as well as, established musicians shopping at Woodsongs which speaks volumes! In addition, if they do not have what you are looking for they have absolutely know problem telling you who does. I cannot speak anymore highly about the service and quality of Woodsongs!

HB Woodsongs is where I always go first for anything that I need musically. I am a fulltime musician and I can count on the professionals that work here to know what even a long time musician may not know. I am going there this afternoon. If you are a beginner or a longtime player Woodsongs is where you need to go. Oh yeah, and that Shawn guy is kinda cute.

After renting a violin through Woodsong for my son for a couple of years (and changing sizes every time he grew) he was eventually into a full size violin. We had a great experience renting the violins, exchanging them when needed, and a minor repair/string replacement on rare occasion. We decided to pay off the remainder of the cost of the violin; it was a breeze to pay off the balance. Shawn has been nothing but helpful and service-oriented. Shawn and his staff have years of service and experience and love music themselves. I highly recommend Woodsong for all of your instrument needs.

Ive been shopping at Woodsongs since I was 13, and my Dad shopped there before me. Weve both been customers of the lutherie as well and I wont leave my guitars with anyone else. Theyve always been helpful, always friendly, and always known who I am and what Im after even though Im not famous and barely gig. I went to musical school in Boston, have crossed the lower 48 multiple times, and have played both stringed instruments and woodwinds. Ive patronized a number of music supply stores and Woodsongs has always provided one of the better shopping experiences. In fact I cant think of any complaints of significance except for that one time when I was 17 and had to order some sheet music they didnt have in stock. It came in 3 days and was for classical clarinet. Not too shabby for a guitar store. I recommend HB Woodsongs to anyone who will listen.
