I love going to Dr. Avery, he has been my eye doctor since the 7th grade and Im am 30 now! He gives me the best contacts that I can possibly see out of and has reversed the blindness significantly. Always makes me feel welcomed and so does the front receptionist.
Worst hands down. He told me my eyes are bad so proceeded to change my prescriptions multiple times even if I complained of issues like blurriness with the contacts or headaches from the glasses he told me continue wearing them it will get better. Never did! I’m having to find another doctor because I can’t put my trust with this man anymore. Smh
I understand that your closed for covid-19 and you and your staffs health but you have patients that need some assistance. My insurance only pays for one examination a year. I need new glasses and I have already gotten my yearly exam from Avery Eye care and with you being closed and no one taking calls or answering messages, I cant access my prescription therefore cant get the glasses I need. I dont have a license if I dont have glasses. Please help! Your mailbox is full. 2 of those messages are from me trying to get my glasses prescription sent to my house. Which was an option on your voicemail until it it filled up. Thank you. Unsatisfied Avery eye care patient! Julie
This office should be listed as permanently closed because the phones arent working and no ones calling back not only that but you cant even get your prescription what is going on? I wish I hadnt been gone here to save me a lot of trouble
Great eye doctor. But due to being closed during this so called virus I now have to find a new doctor. ☹️
My glasses are broke and I’ve been trying to call to get my prescription so I can get a new pair yet the phone has been disconnected. How do I get my script then??
Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! Dr. Avery was very nice and warm hearted. Made my visit much more fun and entertaining than I was expecting. Never had glasses before but he explained in clear language exactly what was going on with my vision. Look forward to picking up my new glasses!
First off, instead of talking to be by name he called me the lady, or guest. Then when he was testing the different lenses and I would tell him which one I could see better he told me I was wrong, or questioned if I was sure about that. He then started to talk about how my eyes are bad because I take in to much sugar and drink too much alcohol, I told him I do not take in any of these and he called me a liar. to top it off I called to tell them the glasses were not working and they make everything seem foggy they informed me I am wearing my glasses wrong.
I have been a patient here for nearly two decades. The staff are friendly and Dr. Avery is very personable. As the doctor enjoys connecting with each patient, you may have to wait awhile for your turn, but its worth it. Despite the rustic building and immediate office set-up, they have modern exam equipment and some of the latest frames and lens technologies available. Dr. Avery helped invent/create the toric lense -- if you have astigmatism, youll definitely hear about it! :)
Been going to Dr. Avery since I was 6, I’m currently 23 lol. Best doctor & best staff around! ♥️
The job was done, but the guy was rude and seemed to get frustrated when my mamaw couldnt choose between what lenses setting was clearer. Im still in the room with him right now writing this review.
Amazing! I love the staff and the (eye) doctor is so sweet and intelligent. Every time I go in there they take very good care of me and make sure I am satisfied! Ive been going there for years and I will keep going!
Edit: Dr Avery was very wrong about his diagnosis & prescription of my daughters vision. She had another eye exam & was diagnosed as nearsighted, not farsighted which is what he said she was, even though I told him she could see close up, but not far away. He was rude & unprofessional. My glasses that I got from him have also made my vision much worse & my glasses are peeling, which causes itching on the bridge of my nose. I suppose you get what you pay for.I had an appointment with Dr Avery one week & took my daughter the next. My visit was pleasant. I thought the dr was knowledgeable & nice. The next week, I took my daughter & after mapping her eyes, which was literally looking at her eyes thru a machine for a couple mins, he told me she was farsighted. I said farsighted, but she can see close up, but cant see far away. He looked right at me & said this quarter million dollar machine knows more about her eyes than you do. I told him I was basing my judgment off of what my 12 year old daughter tells me she can & cant see (she couldnt see the board in class, but can see to read close up). He then went on to give her an eye exam. He told her he could see thru his machine what she could & couldnt see. He told her that he knew she could see the letters clearly & demanded that she tell him what the letter was after she repeatedly said she couldnt see it. My daughter is honest & respectful. Shes not going to lie about what she can & cant see during an eye exam. Id say that Dr Avery puts way too much faith & trust into his quarter million dollar machine & none in his patients. I was so worried that my daughters glasses would be an incorrect prescription, especially considering my own glasses gave me a daily headache for 2 weeks after my own appointment. She says she can see clearly, but she also has had headaches for a week now. The best part about our visit was the lady who helps pick out the glasses. She was sweet & took her time to make sure they fit correctly. I dont think Ill be going back there though & I had high hopes for this place because I had always heard good things.
Dr. Avery is very knowledgeable and will spend quality time on your eye exam. Best eye doctor and best price in town!
Worse experience I have had with glassed! First the transition lens werent working properly. Then while adjusting glasses, they were bent and say lopsided on my face. Returned glasses because tired of bringing them back for other problems. NOW, getting the runaround on refunding my money for non functional glasses! I wouldnt recommend anyone here!!!!!
Very kind, professional and knowledgable doctor. My husband and daughter have been going to him for many years.
Terrible doctor, he was sexist and unprofessional. Gave bad prescriptions then blamed the patient. Also gave medical advice he wasnt qualified to give. The front staff were very nice though.
One of the best eye care doctors in town!!!!
Well the man who did my eye exam felt the need to tell me he was raised my the blacks and its been two weeks and I still havent gotten my glasses.
