I got a pair of prescription glasses last year in July. It was such a bad time to buy prescription glasses since there were strict measures in even trying out glasses. Anyway, I got their own branded pair and paid a fortune, literally. It is already August of 2021 and their glasses broke down. I took it back and I was told that its warranty just got expired. The only option I was told is to buy a new one ($~$200) since they said that they can’t repair their own brand glasses. Bummer! Try avoiding this place all the way. Never ever buy anything from there. Especially WKU people. There are plenty of other options in town.

Scheduling a fast appointment was a billion times easier with my eye lab! The wait for my eye exam at other places was up to a month. The website was super easy to use & they send text reminders. The staff at the Bowling Green KY location were super friendly & nice. Everyone was very helpful & professional. The only thing that wasn’t 5 stars was the dr I was interacting with was foreign & I couldn’t under her the best. She was super friendly tho.

Very predatory establishment. I was told more than once that an eye exam was $45 but it was not until I paid that they revealed that your complete prescription is withheld unless you buy their over priced glasses. So I was left with a useless half prescription and no refunds.

All the employees were very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. They didnt rush me through and they took their time making sure everything was right. My experience could not have gone any better or smoother. I had no issues with the exam, receiving my new contacts or my new glasses. The caring helpful ladies were even great at helping me pick out eyeglass frames that they thought looked good on me. I will highly recommend My Eyelab to everyone.

This was a first for me, going to a not traditional eye doctor. Eye Lab knocked it out of the park, fantastic service, the office and staff went above and beyond to ensure everything is sanitized. The ladies in the office were very patient, helpful, and most importantly they were NICE.I also saved several hundred dollars, you get as good or better service for much, much less. Give this a shot, you won’t regret it

Dont bother trying to make an appointment. I scheduled my 7 yr old, entered his date of birth and everything. I got a call at 7pm the night before canceling his appointment. I made another appointment. The day of, I got a voicemail. Called back, they couldnt figure out why anyone had called. In fact, they didnt even see an appointment for that day. They scheduled him again for the same time, took his info including his date of birth for the THIRD time, even confirmed that he was 7. Went in for the appointment, was told we couldnt be seen because they only see ages 8 and up.

The only thing I could complain about is sticker shock but at the same time their frame and lens warranty makes up for it.

I would give this a negative 5 if the option was available... I made an appointment online for 3of my children. I asked SPECIFICALLY if they took Medicaid and the person over the phone stated that they did in fact take it. I even gave them my insurance information. When I arrived 10 min before my apt time, the male associate was polite and greeted us. The female was cold. She looked at us as if we were garbage (we are people of color) and was not friendly at all. Basically she told me they don’t take my type of insurance and left it at that... I took time off my job just to spend less than 2 minutes in this establishment.... I wouldn’t recommend to anyone that has Medicaid or black

Today I visited the Bowling Green, KY Eye Lab. The exam was fine, and the online doctor was fine. However, once I requested my Pupillary Distance from the Licensed Ophthalmic Dispencer, Melissa Cook things took a turn real quick. She tried to explain why she couldn’t give that to me unless I bought my glasses there. When I challenged this she became angry. While I waited for the doctor to sign off on my prescription, I asked Ms. Cook if she had already measured my PD. She then informed me and I quote, “I have not measured your pupillary distance and I will not measure you.” So she became so frustrated to the point she was finished serving me. I paid for my exam and left with my prescription and will obtain my PD on my own. But I would not recommend Eye Lab to anyone. I was very disappointed with the outcome and Ms. Cook’s service.

Brought my daughter in for a contact exam. They said masks required. I am unable to wear one, due to personal medical reasons. I wasnt upset that they denied me entry, I only got upset when the lady at the front counter continued to loudly tell her coworkers, as well as other customers who were then offering masks, that, Dad doesnt want to wear one. Totally unprofessional. As a self employed person without a vision plan, and someone who has bought 5 pairs of glasses there over the course of two years, and now contacts, I WILL NEVER step foot back in that establishment. Rude and arrogant is the only way to describe the lady who was working that day. /rant

This place has a great location, but my experience was misleading. I wasnt aware of the out of state electronic eye exam. I wasnt able to see out of the eye glasses so I was told I would get my cost refunded but I was only given back what was changed to the debit card ($400) I had to pay $143 to take them to small claims court to get the remainder of $146 where they charged me for the eye exam of $45 out of the $145 . Their own contract say you will be charged for the eye exam, IF you do not purchase glasses. I purchased the glasses I just couldnt see through them . so we are still trying to settle the dispute

Terrific service from an extremely knowledgeable staff!I had purchased glasses from a large, well-known competitor last year and was suffering headaches nearly every single day. The team at My Eye Lab explained why and how my glasses were causing those headaches, got me a new pair, and the headaches disappeared overnight!Everyone in the office is an optician (compared to other places, in which most of the staff are simply salespeople), and they really know their stuff. If you are in the market for new glasses, go to My Eye Lab, immediately!

We went inside the local store on their 4th day of being open for business to ask about insurance. They said we had to schedule an appointment, & gave us one for 2 hrs later at 3pm. My 13 yr old wanted contact lenses, & needed a new pair of glasses also. Her insurance pays for one eye exam & one pair of glasses yearly. So I expected to spend approx $100 - $150 out of pocket for the contacts, contact lens portion of exam & fitting fees and to get her 2 pair of glasses & initial exam for free. The exam was like its described in other Reviews. The wait time was less than desirable, they also had walk-ins being seen at same time. There was only one exam room. At 5:45pm the exam part was finally done & we had to be checked out where they offer all the extras & make price calculations based on which frames you choose. At this point I realized the cost was not gonna be as I had expected, so I told the lady Heres whats going on, I have a limited budget & only $130 to spend & I need contacts & at least one pair of glasses. So, she then put in the effort to make it happen by trying multiple options applied as discounts, with the insurance, without the insurance, etc and the final cost - after adding sales tax - was $131.35 which covered the exams, one pair of glasses with nice frames & 6 months worth of contact lenses. She was very friendly & seemed to really care about what we needed & our budget. So, my only complaints would be the wait time and the somewhat misleading nature of the advertised free exam & 2 pr glasses for $59.99 I suspect only a very few people will spend exactly that.

Review №42

On their website it said they accepted my insurance which is Eye Med. I got there and then told me they do not accept my insurance it would be out of network. But then went on to say it would end up being the same after discounts. So I went through with the exam and was going to get contacts until they finally told me the price. I was going to have to pay over $200 for the exam and 6 months supply for contacts. Which is way more than what an in-network provider would be. I ended up paying $60 for the exam, that would have been $10 for an in network. I went through contacts direct and Paid $120 for a YEAR supply of the same contacts not 6 months. Very misleading and dishonest. If you have vision insurance I suggest you go anywhere else in Bowling Green in network.

Ridiculous excuse for an eye doctor! The exam is done over a webcam with a doctor in another country probably. I asked a couple questions and she didnt even acknowledge that I even said anything, which made me wonder if she could even hear my answers correctly to the exam. Ultimately leading to the question is this exam and prescription even correct?Do not go here. Worst place in bowling green, they wont be open long!

I had a great experience here today. The three staff members I dealt with were so friendly and helpful. Helped me figure out which was going be my most economical route (my vision insurance at work isn’t that great) and broke it down piece by piece. I also have pretty bad anxiety about the little eye puff test thing (idk what that’s called), and the women who did that was super sweet and helped me through that one lol. The telemedicine was odd at first, just foreign to me, but I got used to it fairly quickly, and kinda prefer it versus standard exam procedure. Everything went quick, smooth and painless, and I’m so glad I didn’t go to *that other place* this year.I’m not going to name the other place, as they did a fine job, I just prefer this place now by far.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE CONSIDERING.I came into the appointment feeling encouraged by low cost options that are rare to find in Bowling Green. I left feeling very disappointed, almost ripped off and misled. Detailed review below:The doctor: Well, there isnt one, physically. If having a physical doctor see you is a must, then this is not the place for you. They have a center in Florida and so your entire appointment with the doctor is over a webcam. While this is sort of a cool novelty, its not advertised as such. Buyer beware. The logistics: Appointment was at 12:30. Was not seen until 1:30. Did not leave until 2:30. Seemed like they scheduled many appointments at the same time. The insurance: I was told AFTER I had already got my exam that My Eye Lab is not credentialed with my insurance, (EyeMed) but that they might be in the future. Had I been told this on the phone, I would have looked elsewhere. Instead, they said that they accepted my insurance. Obviously not the case. Again, just another example of being misled. The cost: So, the first thing was that I came for the buy one/get one free. My insurance offers a $130 coverage on glasses and then a 20% reduction in cost of any overage. So, you can imagine that Im thinking this will be relatively inexpensive. When I get to the counter, I find out that just one of the pairs is $514 (this was a frame that was $159) after adding your typical addons such as computer glare coating and anti-scratch. They wouldnt apply my insurance because apparently its against state regulations to use the insurance credit along with a discount. So they instead applied some alternative discount they could give me and it came out to $319 for two pairs. Not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination. Then after I realize I am not going to buy any pairs... guess what? My free eye exam... yeah were going to have to charge you for that now.Hope this review helps.

I give my eye lab negative stars. They are a waste of time money, and energy. Dont bother. If you dont have insurance they charge you almost 300 for the exam, which is supposed to be free, and the glasses and/or contacts. They also dont take 90% of insurance. Go somewhere else like Wal-Mart or vision works. The people I dealt with werent straight up with me. And, the initial exam was done through a foreign webcam person from the other side of the world. Not a one on one person like everywhere else. Please save yourself the annoyance of this business. They are terrible. Will never recommend them to anyone, ever.

Horrible experience here...waste of time, effort and ultimately, money. Was drawn in by the free eye exam and $59 glasses for 2 pair. The exam is done by a combination of computer technology and a remote videolink to an optician. Theres no one whos actually there doing an exam. Thats a little unnerving and they really should say something before they start but over all that was okay. Oh...and if you have insurance and want to use it, the free exam does not apply. Now on to choosing your glasses. Your choice is limited of course to their cheapest frames and they do have a pretty decent selection, especially for men and some are even metal frames BUT, and its a big BUT...if you want ANY add ons such as tint, computer glare coating, etc or need bifocals (not just single vision) you no longer can get the $59 deal and add the add-ons to that, you jump to a buy one, get one free scenario and they have to be the same Rx. The add on for tint is $28 so you would assume that you could get 2 pair of glasses for less than $100...nope, they said it would be about $200+ that is when I looked at my husband and asked if he just wanted to go back to Walmart and he agreed...at that point Im told my exam is no longer free, it cost $45+ tax and it takes them another 15 minutes to process everything and I still left without my detailed receipt for my eye exam so Ill still have to deal with these people if I want to be reimbursed for my exam by my insurance company.

Great and knowledgable staff, I got 2 pairs for what I paid for 1 at Lenscrafters, I read the other reviews and find the they clearly did not pay attention to the terms or even use common sense. When assuming that a basic package is going to come with all the bells and whistles lets be real. Some prescriptions are more complicated than that. And the exam is cool I enjoyed the idea of not having to wait on the Dr. For everything and I feel I missed out on absolutely nothing having professional refractionist on the screen. And then Liscensed Opticians to help pick out and fit my glasses.
