Brought my computer in after what was originally believed to be a graphics card issue that I could not solve on my own. After testing was done they found the issue and a potential future one and fixed both for me. Matt was around to answer any questions I had during the entire process and very nice! Highly recommend them!

Only found one of two problems of computer. Got a new part that they recommended turns out another part was also burnt out. The service was fine though fast they where very understanding and listen to the problem I was experiencing.

Our office has been using Re-Compute to handle our computer issues for years. While I am often frustrated - if not panicked - when I go in, the staff at Re-Compute is always friendly and professional. They take the time to understand the issue, and act promptly to get us back up and operational.

A crucial part of our community. As a small business owner, I cant count the number of times these folks have helped me out. They have the widest selection of hardware in the valley. Need a random cable? A bluetooth dongle? Case fan? Case? Monitor... I could go on and on. Today they had the m.2 screws that Dell omitted. I had Re-Compute come to my house to install a new router and resolve an issue I had with a small percentage of PDF files. Very professional, intelligent, and efficient! Not cheap, but excellent.

Re-Compute worked MIRACLES!!! I would give them TEN stars if I could!!! I brought my computer to them after being told elsewhere that I most likely lost all the data on my computer due to hardware issues. The one thing this other place did do for me was recommend taking it into Re-Compute, which I did the next chance I had. My family and I were very worried, concerned, and saddened by the idea that we might have lost all our family photos. This included photos of our two little girls from the time of their birth through the last several years of them growing up. I wouldve also lost my deployment photos from my time overseas in the Army. All of these photos could never be replaced and are priceless to us. As soon as I brought my computer in they gave us encouragement and hope that we would get them back! Sure enough just a couple days later they had recovered all our data and got our computer working again and ready to pick up. I got an external hard drive from them so I didnt make the same mistake of not backing up our precious data. I then mistakenly deleted some of the photos they just recovered while attempting to move/copy them to the new external hard drive. I contacted them again and brought my computer back to them and they were miraculously able to recover the deleted data AGAIN!!!

They tutored me on how to download files from my old computer to my new computer. Then a year later, when I discovered one of my files was missing, they helped locate and copy it to a hard drive, for free.

Cant recommend Re-Compute highly enough. My computer is my primary tool in my business. I can not afford to be without it! It started having major issues late last week. I contacted the guys at Re-Compute and they jumped on it! So grateful for their professionalism and timely help!! Great service!

These guys do great work they are very fast. They also have lots of different computer parts you can purchase for those do it your selfers, so you can replace parts in your computer. They do computer repair as well as sell whole computers.

Entered looking to buy a new SSD, which he quoted at $140. We compared with prices online while he went and grabbed some hard drives to compare, and saw they were marked up ~$30 from online retail, which made us consider leaving. He came back and said it was actually “130” which turned our opinions on leaving around. Right as I paid, he said “that’ll be 139.99” I was sour at first, but the owner responded to my first review and kindly apologized for the miscommunication, and the price issue was sorted. Props to them for aiming for customer satisfaction!

Way overpriced, they offer extremely poor value for their wares. I feel bad for anyone buying computers from them, they charge Outrageous prices for such outdated hardware. The other computer repair stores in town are much affordable and professional computer stores in town.

Waste of money, inconsiderate of time, do not expect transparency. Of all the tech shops in town recompute demonstrated to have the poorest quality and least knowledgeable. Complete waste of money do not go here. THey knew my computer was broken to begin with but they kept their mouth shut and just charged me for nothing

It took me a good 3 or 4 times going in there to finally purchase myself a computer. But every time I went in, they were all about showing me the goods and the bads for what I needed on my PC experience. I ended up purchasing a high end gaming computer, custom made, at what seemed to me to be a great value. I do not regret it. At the same time I got the pride of shopping Montana local. These guys are good people and will not let you down. I was even able to junk/recycle my ancient tech computer at their store at no cost. Highly recommended shop for your computer go-to needs.

We brought my wifes laptop in to get fixed. We were told we would be called in five days with a diagnosis. Nine days later we called them back to find out they had not even started it yet. The representative we spoke to tried to backtrack saying it should have been five to six days for someone to start working on it. Im sure not everyone has had this experience with this company, but please be sure to confirm time lines with the staff.

Great place, Ive been there multiple times and have found the staff to be polite and knowledgeable. Honestly, i wouldnt trust my gaming laptop anywhere else. They take good care of it, and have helped me fix it when random issues occur or even if i have general questions. Prices are more then fair in my opinion. Re-Compute is definitely my go to computer place.

I only stopped by for a few parts but they seem like a great place to get a computer repaired. Ill probably use them in the future if I have PC issues that I cant resolve by myself.

I bought my MacBook from recompute a while back and it is still going strong. They were very helpful with transferring my data over and showing me how it works since its my first mac. Ive had a few questions since I bought it and they were able to promptly help me over the phone each time so far. Very pleased and will recommend them in the future.

Recompute (Bozeman location) has done everything from upgrades on old laptops to selling me brand new desktops with all the features I wanted. They talked with me and found out what I needed for quite a while! They installed some cool extra stuff on my new computer for free and got rid of the weird stuff no one uses. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are definitely reasonable.

My laptop was having issues for two days in a row. I had guessed either my cord, or my power port was the cause to not keep charging the battery. I called where I had bought the laptop (a box store), was told it just *had* to be my power cord and Id have to come in and buy one. I asked a few questions an they pushed this buying a new cord on me.I looked up local repair shop and Re-Compute Bozeman was the first hit. I called I gave my assessment and the guy agreed with me. If I wanted I could come in, hed check both the laptop and the cord. I went in, and at NO CHARGE he checked it out for me. Very personable the guy was and even listened to the fan running too hard and went back and blew out my fan for me. Again NO CHARGE, I tipped him a few dollars for doing something he could have easily charged me for and Did Not.I would send my friends here and family when needing work. Ill be back to have a computer version of a tune up here soon.

Recompute fixed my computer on a moments notice, not once but twice! I was in the middle of a project when my extremely expensive, custom built (but not by Recompute!) fire breathing dragon of a workstation destroyed its BIOS after extremely heavy use. Brought my desktop in here a couple years ago to get a new graphics card and RAM upgrades and replaced. It stopped functioning after a day, and when calling the tech at the store he told me I would have to pay a minimum charge to even bring it in.Not the way to treat a customer. Would not recommend.

The prices are reasonably fair, but the work is incredibly sloppy with little to no attention to even large details. Such as simply yanking rubber feet off of a laptop, without bothering to re-attach them properly, or replacing the part thats been ruined.

I have visited recompute a number of times while visiting the Bozeman area and this latest time they were very helpful. Both of the gentlemen I worked with were able to let me know exactly the reason my laptop was unable to get on wireless networks. I felt a little dense when I realized I had accidentally disabled it but they were good enough to show me what was wrong and how to fix it and told me it was on the house until next time. Hopefully I dont need to see them next time I am in town but if I do I know they can handle my (self-imposed) issues.

I like Erics shop if he still owns it but... to the fella with the monitor issue. VGA and HDMI are not the same thing. HDMI is digital connection, a string of 1s and 2s which render a picture; it also carries necessary encryption to play Blu-Ray discs and has sound in it even if your monitor does not. VGA is analog, sine-waves. I wont argue the semantics - is one better than the other, yes and no. The salesperson didnt lie, they both provide a picture just stepping down to VGA only means not play digitally encrypted signal to your monitor - provided all the devices have the right-stuff. All the best. With VGA DVDs will still play... :)

I am so thankful to the folks at Re-Compute. I had a massive USB drive disaster and would have lost probably 50 hours of work without their help. They were able to recover the files from my USB drive, and kept me in the loop along the way. A special thanks to Matt for his excellent customer service.

Being one of the only computer equipment shops in Bozeman and/or repair for some you should know a few things first. In brief, as a repair shop they do decent work, as a parts store however you may have issues.As a shop they do not carry: 4 pin fan/LED extensions or hubs. However they will sell you used extensions for the price of a pack of 3 new on Amazon (I called and was told $8). They also do not have any thermal pads...or any form of liquid metal application (though this is picky).As a repair shop they do decent work for average prices if your laptop is having issues, fans are loud etc. They do not have a clean room certified for opening hard drives, so if this is the route of your repair I would look elsewhere.Feedback: please carry more parts, extensions, hubs etc. all have vastly long shelf lifes. Also used parts should not be sold with such markup, cmon guys :(

Dave with Re-Compute is the nicest, easiest to work with computer services specialist ever.On the afternoon before a sold out weekend at an area hotel, the hotel lost all internet throughout the property. This weekend just happened to be the same weekend that the hotels IT specialist was out of town. I called Re-Compute to see if there was anyway that they could fit us in because we had no other way to fix this internet issue. Matt took down my name and phone number and said their schedule was full for the afternoon, but that hed contact the owner, Dave, and see if they could fit us in. Less then five minutes later, Matt called me back and said that Dave agreed to come and he would be there in a few hours.Dave showed up to the property and immediately found the issue. He ran to his shop, got a new router, hooked it up, and had internet back to the hotel after I spent five hours on the phone with our IT provider and Spectrum, but still had no internet.As the manager of a local business, I highly recommend contacting Dave and/or Re-Compute for any technology needs. Dave not only was personable, friendly, and extremely helpful, but I could tell that he sincerely cared. As a business owner himself, he understood how important it was for us as a sold out hotel to get our internet back up and running. Additionally, Dave came to the property at 6:30PM and stayed until after 8:00PM to ensure everything was working properly. Dave corresponded with our IT specialist, too.Finally, I would like to mention that Dave did all of this for us when we had never even worked with him before. Dave came and provided fast, top quality service all with a friendly smile. I truly cannot thank Dave enough. I also cannot say enough good things about him.Thank you Matt and Dave for all of your help on a very stressful night. I and the hotel will always refer anyone with computer and/or technology needs to you! Thank you again for everything that you did for us yesterday. I bought my first monitor there and it worked great. I wanted a second one. I had to keep bringing it back because unlike my first one, it did not have an HDMI port. I refused to downgrade to a VGA on one monitor and HDMI on the other. It took them three times until the guy on duty just told me that VGA and HDMI are the same thing. And they are supposed to be the computer experts. Regardless, I was sick of waiting and just bought the damn thing. Now I have to sit here with one monitor black and the other white.

One of the more respectable businesses I have had the pleasure of dealing with in Bozeman. I brought in my gaming pc to have it reformatted during Christmas vacation. When I first brought it back home it was having a random freezing issue that I still blame Windows 10 for. (originally a Windows 7 build) after a few re-visits to recompute we solved the issue with my computer with no added charges than the original reformat price.

Love this place, went in a long while ago and got my computer fixed, had some sand in it or somethin, not sure how that happened. Some friendly fella with blonde hair and glasses helped me. Told me a gander about his wifes horse steppin on some fools foot. Pointed me to a good place to get lunch and I rode on out of there.
