Ive been into Boerners a couple times this In year for transfers and various stuff. I sure appreciate them over the local competition. In the years past, I went in there and saw a younger douche bag walking around behind the counter with an AK strapped to his back and thought that was too much...Now its a mix of older and younger guys (all polite and helpful).Theres a lot of places you can go, but these guys dont leave you feeling condescended to as some others would.

I have made a few purchases from the folks at Boerners and have always had very positive and friendly experiences. Price is not the only factor, you owe it to yourself to check out this local shop before you buy.

Haven’t been there in a while but whenever I go in it’s a bad experience. Everything is way overpriced and the staff thinks that they know everything. I can tell that this is the kind of place where they just wait for someone who doesn’t know anything about guns to come in so they can load them with false information and overcharge them. If you plan on going in do your research first because these guys will try to take advantage of you. Luckily i knew what I was talking about otherwise I would’ve been overcharged.

Ive been buying and selling and transferring here for 10 years, staff is always friendly and helpful, prices are on par, and they always have a standard selection of popular guns AND people sell unique guns there so you never know what youll find, they also have a good selection of holsters and accessories. With the current POS Governor and Attorney General I can imagine that they have seen their share of difficult times and changes but I hope they know they have a lot of support from the county.

Tried to have a weapon shipped into them after they were recommended to me by a friend. I tried for two days calling them and having the shop who is shipping the weapon call them and they would say that they either dont know what Im talking about or that they have already sent the fax which never arrived. I understand that talking over the phone leads to misunderstandings but it felt like I was an annoyance to them rather than a customer. I would not try with them again.

Ive been to this gun shop multiple times in the past couple years. At first it seemed like the staff had their own group they only hung out with and didnt really interact with the customers too much. After a few visits it seemed like a complete 180 flip and they were very interactive with the customers, super helpful and assisted me with anything I had trouble with. Boerners is now my preffered gun shop in the area and I reccomend going here if you have any questions or are looking to buy any ammo/guns.

Great guys at this shop. really personable and helpful. One of my favorite gun shops around.Update 14jul18: Bought a 1911 platform from them. I traded in one of my revolvers for the gun. The floor manager for that day (sorry I cant remember his name) took the time to show me what was in stock and was in my price range. Every firearm I viewed was chosen based off of my preferences, nothing that I didnt want was pushed at me. That being said it is one of the best qualities of the shop. While I was there a few other people were hanging out and the shop was all talking and having good discussions. it was a very home like vibe. I stand by my first sentence, it is one of the best shops around. They care about the customer and everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and has outstanding customer service skills. Thanks All!

I knew Bill Boerner long ago, and was friends with his family (read: step-kids)I refused to ever shop here because of that.... however I went in on a whim to see if anything had changed, and it had.... this was about 2 weeks ago... I was able to get a decent backup pistol for the price I wanted to pay, not what was on the tag, saved 50$ on the deal while working with one of the older guys that are being complained about here...They went out of their way to ensure I got what I wanted with excellent service..... I was very surprised based on the reviews here.... MAYBE this goes to show that showing them respect gets it in kind, rather than attitude.... I dont know about any of you, but I will be going back in today to buy more stuff.... my review went from a zero star to 3 in a single visit, based on the visit, I am sure my repeat business will only improve my rating of the store. Oh snap, and now I have been in there several times, dealt with many employees and have always gotten the same quality service... review changed again, now 4 stars, will see how it goes, may turn to 5 sooner rather than later... again, you want good service, have some respect

Pros: Good deals, politeCons:I cant shake the feeling that I make them feel uncomfortable which is funny because theyre all armed.I seem like Im just a waste of their time, despite already paying a gun in full and in cash.Tedious paperwork being their stock and trade, theyd forget that I had extra items with my firearm. Going to cost an extra $40 on top of the $80 (both ways, twice; because laws) in fuel, to get a $40 magazine.Bottomline: Given a hassle that I feel is intended/avoidable, and I agree with others on how they treat their friends. Shouldve went online and shipped locally :/

Value: I normally buy ammo online, so I did not check that, but their firearm prices are very reasonable and competitive. Accessories and such, they are about the same price as anywhere else you would go, maybe some things were cheaper here and there. If you want things for the best possible price, obviously you cant really beat the internet but this place is good for picking things up quick when you need them without breaking the bank.Professionalism: Ive read some negative reviews about some of the employees attitudes but I did not experience any bad service at all. Customers and employees were all friendly and sociable. I interacted with Chris the most and he is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, definitely recommend talking to him if you have serious questions.Inventory: For a small place, they seemed to have a decent amount of firearms and accessories (new and used).Property: on the outside it looks a bit shady, but the inside is well-maintained and clean.Overall: I cant really think of anything bad to say about this place. I will be doing business with them again in the future.

Okay. So, very recently I visited their store with family, just to check out their selection. I had experience with this shop in the past, and personally found the staff very poor with customers, ignorant, and rude. The one guy I had issues with in particular, an old chubby guy, in fact scammed my mother into paying $499 for a gun she does not understand, and relied on her ignorance to do so. As I was explaining to her the multitude of reasons for why this was a poor choice, I was actually MADE FUN OF and ridiculed for my cocky, yes, cocky behavior, and was told to stop advising her on her decision because it was her decision. First of all, I do not need to be told to stop advising my own family on what I feel would suit their needs best, and second of all I certainly do not need to be ridiculed by arrogant used car-salesman like staff. Rude, disrespectful, and arrogant staff are the reason I will not be returning here, and I hope you find a better experience than I did.P.S. If the black guy is still working there, seek him first. He is knowledgeable, respectful, and a pleasure to do business with. Unfortunately, for the treatment I received from other staff I cant give this more than one star. Best of luck

What a great experience! Right when you walk in the door you can tell this is a locally owned place thats been around for a long time, and I love that.Every firearm I looked at the price was right on par, or just below, that of the online retailers (remember when looking online you pay shipping, and tax, and transfer fee $25-$35)Reid was quick to help me as soon as I walked up to the counter. Asked if I knew what I was looking for, I gave him some general ideas and he quickly followed up with an awesome overview of several different firearms that fit what I was looking for.Reid took time to pull each out of the case and walk me through the different features on each model and explained the differences. If you want a local experience, local service, with local people then you need to checkout Boerner! Thanks Reid, and all the guys, for such a fun experience.Bud

When I walked in the door to Boerner Fire Arms I had literally never been in a gun store before and I knew very little about what I was looking for beyond the needs I was hoping to fulfill. I looked around for about five minutes before being approached by one of the associates. I feel bad that I dont remember his name because he was amazing. He literally spent two hours showing me a bunch of different rifles and explaining the reasons why someone would buy each one. He was very polite and while he did talk a lot, the second I had anything to say or question to ask he would stop mid-sentence and give me his full and undivided attention; whatever he had to say was no longer important because I had a new question that was more pressing for me and I thought that was awesome. In the end I had the rifle I wanted to purchase all picked out and ready to go, but when my NICS check came back I was denied due to some crap in my past that I have to sort through before I can complete the purchase. After having spent two hours of his time on a customer that couldnt even purchase a gun if he wanted to I partially expected the associate to be annoyed, but he wasnt in the slightest. He simply said these things happen, provided me with a number to call to try to get it worked out and gave me a free T-shirt since I couldnt leave with a gun.Now that I know what I want, Ive looked around to compare pricing with other purchase options and Ive found their prices to be very competitive and candidly, for the customer service alone, Id rather support a local business. Once I get my stuff sorted out I will definitely be going back to Boerner Fire Arms to complete my purchase.

He is one you can tell that could give a rip less of you would like and wont even listen. Easily distracted, and will look at you as if your wasting his time. I was trying to tell him what I was looking for and in the middle of it tuned me out and started talking to another customer who was already being helped by the guy that eventual sold me my Sig. He would be a slightly older looking guy slimmer build and sounds way smarter than the first. Actually took the time to listen, made recommendations without any hard up-selling and walked me through the paperwork. Needles to say he will be the main guy I will work with next time I buy from them. As for the store, very nice selection and fair pricing compared to Seattle, Tacoma stores.

Ok I will say this is not the best shop, but it is by far not the worst. Some of their staff is very well informed and helpful.IMO if you want helpful and accurate information talk with the black guy or the chubby younger guy. stay away from the old timers as their opinions seem to have a huge effect on their sales pitch.Yes as others have said their firearm prices are a little on the high side but that is to be expected given their location. Their ammo prices how ever are more than fair. And they have one of the cheapest FFL transfer fees in town. (40$)what could change this from a 3 star establishment to a 5 star?Get rid of the coffee table in the back and the older guys that seem to just hang around the shop and bother both staff and customers with their opinions. Clean up the middle isles, get proper shelving and organize the middle of the store to make sense to new customers. I know where everything I need is but only because I have been shopping there for the better part of 19 years, to new comers the store looks in complete disarray and is very off putting. This I know to be fact as I took someone in to look to make their first firearm purchase and they immediately wanted to leave because the store looked rundown and chaotic which lets be honest it is.I personally love this store for numerous reasons, but it really needs a good polishing.

So I had to take the gun back, I explained the situation to the big boss at Boerner, and he offered me $250 for a gun that I paid $320 for 14 days earlier. I know its not their fault that I could not keep the gun, but they could have done the right thing and issued me a full refund like I asked. They tried to tell me that it cost them money to file the reports. They must think Im stupid and that I dont realize that they are going to reseel the gun for a profit. Called to ask about an FFL transfer on 04-DEC-2014. Guy quoted me $40.00 over the phone. Arrived at their shop on 05-DEC-2014 and the price magically increased to $50.00! Tried to have them email the information and was told that they cant do it electronically and demanded a fax number. I explained that my seller didnt have a fax machine and most people just email the signed FFL no issues. The people helping me were rude and I was treated like I was bothering them not like I was a customer. I am a business owner in a neighboring county (different industry than firearms) and I would be HOT if I caught my employee treating a customer of mine like they did me. I got the vibe that my money was no good there and left. Probably for the better. The thought of trusting them with handling my new gun, for any amount of time...even if they did finally figure out that its almost 2015, fax machines are dieing, and emailed FFLs are no more difficult than sending a fax. Its sad. I liked the small town feel there. Have you ever felt like people are laughing and joking at your expense the moment the door closes behind you?
