Food is Always good. The real deal. My only concern is the time it takes to get it. I wish they would have a better logistics from waiting in line to ordering and getting you food. I find it takes too long. Other than this the food is top notch!

If you are an Empanada lover, you should try El Coquitos Puerto Rican empanadas. I got the beef and cheese, chicken and cheese and the pizza empanadas. They have variety of food choices, place is clean, service can be slow at times but the food is good. You have the option to dine in or take it to go. Overall, this place is legit and will come back for more.

I’m rating them at two stars because they have good food and lack luster customer service. It really frustrates me when businesses feel they are doing so well that individual interactions don’t matter. The last time I went there I ordered chicken and rice and mofongo de carne frita. They told me it would take 30 mins. they were also out of rice- this was at 2:52- no problem I go back to my car 30 mins later they tellme there is no carne frita and still no rice…. Then another server tells me they do have my mofongo order but still no rice so I get a refund for one and wait another 10 minutes for it. I go all the way back home and there’s only a plate of beef! Open and sloppy. I understand mistakes happen but when I go back I ask to speak to a manager stood there for 10 minutes and he/she never comes. It’s now 4:50! When a server addressed me and I told them what happened and that I wanted a refund he told me it’s open and he can’t take it back… They got my order wrong and then tried not to refund me. Finally a woman walks by him and says just give her her money back. As if I was inconveniencing them! No one apologized at all! And the server who handled it was rude and to top it off my refund was $7 short. I will never go there again. It’s too many local Spanish restaurants with better customer service.

Sunday afternoon. The worst service. Slow & disorganized. Everybody works with the mask below their nose. They had no rice!! I waited an hour for an alcapurrias. The food was served cold. Dont eat here. It wasnt worth the stress.

The food was very good with authentic Puerto Rican flavor. I was pleasantly surprised. I had white rice, beans, Pernil/pork and plantains (sweet). I would definitely recommend them. My only negative comment would be the kitchen/serving staff area seemed a little congested and others were served before me who were after me in line.

Ordered 2 meals and the food was way too salty to enjoy. It was impossible to eat. Both chicken and beef meals had to be tossed in the trash. (7-7-21 meals)

It is a Spanish restaurant so if u dont speak Spanish dont expect to get much help or friendly service. The prices and the food is really good. I love the ice cream/Italian icees.

First thing is its a very nice clean place but the food might have been there out too long the cheese patties barely had cheese, it was basically empty but workers are slow, its fast food they should have your food ready fast especially if its 2 people just in line, need better staff and food quality has to get better

I do not understand the great reviews this place has received! Perhaps I came on a bad day?? I am sorry, but these people do NOT know how to cook delicious Puerto Rican food! I am assuming it was a bad day because every item that I purchased except for the coconut ice cream (which I think they did not make themselves) was truly terrible! I ordered pasteles, which looked disgusting but tasted even worst! I also ordered chicken pastelillos. The dough tasted good but the chicken was really gross! It literally looked and tasted like someone pre-chewed it for you & chucked it up as the filling! The morcillas were awful as well. I could not get them pass my mouth to my throat...they made me gag! I am dumbfounded & puzzled as to why people choose to eat at this place!?! All I can figure is that either they do not have any other place to go to, or they just do not know what Good & Delicious Puerto Rican food taste like! To close, I just want to mention that I am extremely disappointed and embarrassed to have taken a friend to this place as an introduction to my native food! Shame on them for ruining a special experience! :(

Good place, good food. The only problem it has is the long line.. They have many employees and they dont work fast, they just talk a lot and joke too. It is sad to write this but it is the truth. The owner should care more about customer service.

Since a kid I’ve always loved coquito, I’ve since moved to Texas and every time I come to visit bpt this is my first stop. Upon my last visit I realized the system in place to serve and checkout is heinous. I waited almost an hour in a line of about 15 ppl to be checked out and out the door. I find the workers are a problem, no initiative or ambition, very slow moving and doing things they shouldn’t be doing instead of taking care of customers. At some point there are all workers on the ice cream and no one serving food, I watched one worker leave the food area to the back for 10 minutes and no one was being taken care of. I also observed a girl cleaning the food area instead of serving people, we were all standing and watching waiting to be helped. The food is already made people should be in and out in less than 5 minutes!! I’ve never seen such slow workers in my life! The food is good the coquito is bomb but unfortunately I’ll now think twice before visiting and wasting an hour of my time for already made food.

Absolutely disgusting. Spent $49 to throw everything away. The beef empanadilla tasted like rotten beef. I pray we dont get food poison. We had to pull over for my son to throw up. We ordered 3 of those. The chicken empanadillas were extremely salty and were terrible in flavor because of how awful it tasted. The fried chicken was flavorless. The coconut ice cream was just sugar and cream. The yuca was good. Everything else, terrible. Plus, the wait to order was about 40 minutes in line. m Puerto Rico and this was a shame.

Sabor Boricua! The smell is sofrito smacks your nose when you enter. Even through your mask! Your stomach will growl with hunger. The staff is friendly. The food is FRESH. If youve never been to Puerto Rico one tase from El Coquito will take you to the motherland for sure!

Friday I always go to the rainbow to buy shrimp soup I went late I go tothe coquito it was horrible..

The food is delicious, the service is quick and friendly (the staff is bilingual - English/Spanish), the place is clean and spacious, and the prices are reasonable. I ordered everything to go and my family was happy with everything I brought home. I was so excited with my experience that I asked for their catering menu because Im already hoping to ask them to cater some of the events that I organize.

I have had food from every Spanish food restaurant on East main street and cant none of them even come close to what El Coquito is serving up on the east side. The food is out standing... well prepared, seasoned and fresh. Cleanliness is on point as well as social distancing while ordering. And everyone had on masks and gloves. They get 5 stars from my daughter alone for the variety of icecream n icies thats also available and cant get no where on the east side😏. I just wish delivery was steadily available because I no longer require any other food outside of my home and I dont drive😊 Great Job to Rob and his team! Keep up the great work. My vehicle was in the shop for almost 2 weeks, service not completed,no loaners available according to Mary Rodrigues and her supervisor, the vehicle was given to me without washing, I refused to take it dirty, then it was washed. Amazing food!! We pretty much sample everything when we go and take it home to eat. The pork is super flavorful and the rice is cooked perfect. The empanadas are also delicious and not overly greasy for a fried item. Its usually always busy with long lines but they move fast.

Generally speaking their customer service is terrible. Food tastes fine - I was there today with my Mom; she had already started her order with a woman, the Male employee kindly asked who was next and I told him I was with my mom but that I had a different order I needed to place. He told me to move over, ignored me and three more people went and placed their orders ahead of me! I couldnt even order pasteles because everyone else that was placed in front of me ordered them all..... Just a specific small situation; I know fresh Pasteles arent going to magically appear, but the way these employees handle customers is TERRIBLE!

Always good food, but the servers need to be more pleasant and more considerate of the costumers timing. The servers chat too much among themselves while serving food. The beverage cooler needs to be moved from that side corner. It’s doesn’t work there during rush lunch hour! There needs to be a manger In the front supervising the staff.Food is good, but service is slow for food that is already made in advance.

Customer service is so poor, they took over half an hour to provide me my order. Which I called before hand to place. I’m so disappointed with their customer service, no restaurant should run this way. When I walked in there, there were two lines and I had a child in the car waiting with my wife. I still had to wait for an order I placed for pick up.My order was not even prepared when I arrived. They have no organization. Don’t got to this restaurant if you’re in a rush because they won’t take that for consideration.

Let me say this I remember when this place had good ice cream “coquitos” in the 80s it’s no longer that. I visited this place recently and I don’t know what happened starting from the cashier lady to the coquitos but they are horrible very sad for a place that was good at one time.

I would recommend it to anyone that loves Puerto Rican food. I go at least twice a week.
