I purchased my first rifle in decades and the experience was excellent. I have a gun store 5 minutes from where I work and Ill never step into that dump again. Almost Wholesale is located just off of I-55 so its easy to get to and has the best customer reviews of ANY gun store around. Stop in, you wont be disappointed.....

These guys are a joke. In March 2017, they said they’ve got a gun range opening in ‘1-2 months’ and that they were running a special on it. I prepaid for it, and waited patiently. Every month I’d call, and every month I’d hear there was a delay. I understand. But after 7 months of paying for using another range, it didn’t make financial sense for me to pay for a range that was so delayed.I asked for my refund and was told there may be a ‘refund fee’. This is where my one star review comes into play. What an absurd comment, and clearly I wasn’t going to accept that. I talked to some employee who spoke to the owner who said to come in and get a refund. We will see what kind of games they play when I come in, but to try to tell me there’s a refund fee is absurd.There are so many other honest gun shops around that customers actually feel good about spending hundreds or thousands of dollars at; when will these guys realize that consumers will not tolerate poor customer service.

Good shop. Very helpful and very professional. Great prices and inventory too. Went in to get a gun I had been looking at, but they were sold out. Left with an even better one than the one I thought I was going to get at a comparable price.

Do not do business here, these guys tried to steal my accessories. I bought a rifle at a store in another state and transferred it here. The gun came with a free range bag as a bonus. At the time of sale, I watched the salesman box up the accessories with the gun and tape the whole thing up tight. When I went to pick up my transfer from Almost Wholesale, the guys there told me there was no bag with the shipment. They said that I should complete the transfer and contact the original seller to figure out what happened to the accessories. Not being born yesterday, I instantly recognized that these guys were trying to steal my bag. I told them I would not accept the transfer, and they would have to contact the original seller to figure out what happened to the bag when they return the gun. The sales guy made one more trip to the back to take one last look. Lo and behold, not even 10 seconds later he found my bag.Almost Wholesale employs thieves that will brazenly try to steal items you have transferred to their store. If their incredibly high prices werent enough to turn you away, hopefully my story will. I will never do business here again, and I highly recommend no one else does either.

Bought my first handgun from them... awesome people. Best prices, in my opinion, in all chicago. I am always looking for an excuse to go in and buy something. They have a small but decent selection of weapons and will not hesitate in ordering you one if they dont have it. Just love this place.

Being a female and new firearm owner, it was difficult to purchase my first pistol because I did not feel comfortable at other gun shops. The staff here took their time and answered all my questions. They do not work on commission so there is no pressure to buy. I only shop here for all my supplies. The prices and customer service is outstanding.

I recently took my girlfriend in there to look at a good CC firearm for her. Both Jerry and his son, Norm, were very helpful in making sure she got the gun that fit her best. Theyre honest guys. I was prepared to buy a different, more expensive gun and they showed me something that was over $100 cheaper and a better fit for her. Id definitely go back to them. Both very professional guys, not to mention, very knowledgeable about their firearms.

I have been there many times, and the small kitchen like storefront? The shop is large spacious and display cases are well appointed with plenty of stock. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to go and shop. Awesome experience.

Dont let the name fool you, this is serious gun shop. These guys have the best prices in the Chicagoland area and are about as hospitable as one would hope for. Folks in Chicago know how hard it is to find a good gun shop with reasonable prices. Well look no farther. Other shops in the area price gouge, are rude, lack of inventory, etc. Almost Wholesale always has what Im looking for in stock. However, there are a few things to note...If purchasing a firearm you can do so online and then pick up in store 3 days later. That can save you the initial trip of driving down there to pay. However, their website doesnt seem to display all of their inventory. Just because their website doesnt display what youre looking for doesnt mean they dont have it. So you may want to give them a call if you cant find what youre looking for on their website.These guys are hard to beat. I will be a dedicated customer if they continue to compete like they have been. We dont mind paying a little extra to support a family owned business, however, we do with what we have.P.S. I give this shop 5 starts. Since there is not much variety of gun shops in Chicago land it all, my search began on google map and found Almost Wholesale Gun Supply website, they have a super loaded variety of fire arms with a full description and pictures of each item on their website, and very ease to navigate.I found what I was looking for and purchased it with out hesitation, no need to call or communicate with a sales person. Super easy transaction on line. 2 days later in person I filled up paper work and meet with the guys, very kind all three that I met with, patiently answered every of my questions, prices are super lower than other shops, the trip from Chicago was definitely worth it and certainly I will be back soon.

Almost Wholesale Guns in Burr Ridge is great!I have made purchases and trade-ins there, and Jerry, Norm and Greg have always done a great job! They are friendly and always give me a great price.The shop is well stocked, clean and spacious, now that they have moved into a larger suite on the bottom floor. They offer Cerakoting and Gun Smithing services as well.This place maybe a little hard to find, and they always seem be busy, but it’s well worth the trip.

These guys are a joke. I ordered my glock 19 gen 5 on Monday and still havent received it yet. They just keep saying its on the way. I will never buy a firearm from these jokes. Better off going to point blank or gat guns.

Terrible. It took nearly a month, about ten phone calls, and four trips to the shop before I finally left with my order in hand.I put in an order through almostwholesaleguns online store and received an e-mail stating that it will arrive in 7-10 business days. However, it took well over three full calendar weeks for the order to arrive, no tracking information, no explanation from the staff, nothing. Finally, I received a call that the order was ready for pickup so I dropped by their physical location (Bridgeview Sports) to get it. As I am about to leave with the order I am informed that the paperwork has not cleared so I cannot have my order (which means they did not check the paperwork before calling me and made me drive over for nothing). I called IL State Police the following day to figure out what happened, and was told some sort of computer error occured and the shop needs to resubmit the paperwork, as the transaction was not even being processed due to this error.The following day I still needed to hound the shop with numerous calls and re-explain the situation to two different employees before the paperwork finally got re-submitted. The day after that I called yet again to see if the paperwork was approved since of course they did not call me to let me know it was.The shop showed no concern and offered no explanation for these issues. I even gave them a chance to explain themselves because I understand mistakes happen but “I dunno” was their response. I do not believe my case was an isolated incident either because during my last trip there I overheard an employee speaking to an agitated customer over the phone about their order not arriving yet and taking a long time to ship as well.In short, the place itself looks and feels more like a seedy pawn shop than a professional firearms store. Limited selection, disorganized and careless staff. Absolutely not worth all of this trouble to save roughly $20 on my purchase over other local competitors. If you are unfamiliar with firearms or the purchasing process this place will take you for a ride.

Went in there the other day, met the owner(jerry), nice guy with great prices. Not a huge selection but he can order anything you want, and have it in days. For comparison, his price on a sig pistol(227), was about $150-200 bucks less than other shops Ive been to, including big box retailers.

My first time visiting their facility and they made me feel comfortable .I was purchasing my first handgun it was set that i wanted the G45 glock 9mm they ordered it and i did my background paperwork .while i was there i took time to rent a g19 and g17 9mm and range to get the feel for it,i can tell you for my first time it was a total #BLAST !!!!! Stopped at this gun shop I saw driving around for work. Asked guy behind the counter about some very simple things, dude was often befuddled by my questions. Dude had never even heard of an eotech or aimpoint. Asked this guy if they ever got any 5.45 in and he had never heard if it. Well the owner of the shop (I presume) comes out of the backroom to tell me that I can shoot 5.56 out of my 74 because “those sneaky communists” designed it that way so they could pick up american ammo on the battlefield. I basically started laughing and asking if he was serious and he got really defensive and doubled down on it. Kid behind the counter was certifiably stupid and his boss is a moron giving out genuinely dangerous advice that could damage someone’s rifle or injure them... how that shop does any business idk.

Their billboard said no crook county taxes however the price on target ammo more than made up for that. Walked out with 100 9mm rounds for 229.99 but at the shop neareat me 100 rounds it 26.97. Not a huge selection but they had a few so Thats not bad. I did however feel like i was rushed on and out. Probubly a good place to purchase a firearm but not the accessories.
