This is a charming fudge and ice cream shop that has an excellent selection of chocolates as well.The butter pecan ice cream was tasty and very creamy. We tried some of the fudge as well, with the dark chocolate and sea salt my favorite. My wife loved the turtle fudge and the pumpkin praline.They also offer a surprisingly good low sugar fudge. The staff was very friendly and the dining area was spotless. Excellent place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

4 of my friends and myself went here today for the 1st time ever. Upon entering, the staff was SUPER FRIENDLY and unlike a lot of the customers, were wearing mask.I ordered a banana split and several kinds of fudge and ALL WERE AMAZING! I try to visit Bristol for a couple races a year and had never found this spot.I ASSURE YOU, it WILL BE ON MY VISIT LIST ON MY NEXT TRIP!

Weve been here several times. kids have gotten candy (by the weight, but be wary of some barrels not included in it) several times. we got ice cream the other day - very good. about $5 for a single scoop and waffle cone. cool atmosphere - old timey. places to sit inside in the glass front, or even better these days - several tables and chairs out front on the sidewalk.

This was our 1st visit down State Street since moving back.. a lot has changed in 3 decades and, after coming across this fantastic ice cream, candy and HOMEMADE FUDGE, I gotta say its changed for the better! This was my first visit and the guy working (sorry I forgot his name) was awesome. He walked me through the store and then helped me pick out a selection of chocolates for my girlfriend. Delicious ice cream in lots of flavors, we tried lemon cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake. Fancy chocolates, jelly beans, candy, and lots of fudge flavors, too, all in a cute shop with seating.

My family and I came into The Southern Churn to get ice cream. The two staff members working were very helpful and friendly. The ice cream is really good although we felt it is overpriced for the serving size. We also purchased fudge which is good quality and was priced on a sign but later found out it is priced by weight, which we didn’t know at first, so it ended up costing more then what the sign advertised. What we were most unhappy about was that the staff charged us a card fee to pay with a card. We were not informed of this at all at time of payment and saw it on the receipt and had to ask about it. If I would have known this, I would not have paid with a card and I feel like it’s unacceptable to be charged this fee without being notified first. Our purchase was for a large amount and a store like this with premium prices, in the US should not be charging a card fee at all in the first place.

Amazing ice cream! You can sample pretty much any of the flavors and they are amazing. I got the milkshake( which was delicious) and my husband got a cup of ice cream.

Went this morning to order fudge to be sent as an Easter gift. Despite sign outside promoting Covid safety, man working counter without any mask in sight. I left after letting him know I would not be making a purchase because he wasnt masked. He apppeared very angry. Will not return.

Such a cool place. We loved the fudge and then ice cream. My mama had the soft serve while the rest of us had the hand dipped. My friend had the Mountain Dew fudge and like it. I had the dark chocolate and caramel sea salt, it was yummy. My kids enjoyed the chocolate fudge and my mama liked the maple fudge. We also got some cool ice cream themed pictures!

Please if youre in the area -- treat yourself and stop by! Try the Whiskey/Coffee Toffee Ice Cream, its AMAZING.Thoroughly recommend giving the place a try.

Great little ice cream/fudge shop in the Bristol historic district filled with cute old-time decor. The two employees were hard at work behind the counter when we arrived during a time when the shop was empty, probably only because it was early on Friday evening when the local restaurants were still packed. Nice to see they werent just hanging out, and both greeted us; each were very kind and helpful. Both the hard pack and soft serve are homemade. We had a very tasty chocolate fudge ice cream. Next time we will try their fudge!

The cutest old time soda, candy and ice cream shop! The two guys working in there both days i went in (6-13-20 and 6-14-20) were the most polite young men i have come accross in retail. They were so happy to help with anything and so happy to work where they work, you could tell. The fudge is amazing! So many flavors and it melts in your mouth. Visit this place if you are near the bristol area for sure! I wamt to go back for this place specifically.

My family and I went there for the first time today and I was impressed! The gentleman behind the counter was supper nice and was very friendly to every customer. I loved eating our ice cream in the window watching traffic and folks walking kinda made me feel like I was in the 50’s for a brief moment.The candy was very nostalgic and we will be back!

This place is amazing! Their homemade soft serve ice cream, toppings, candy and their fudge is Awesome!! My daughter always wants to go to Southern Churn every time we are in Bristol! We checked this site to see what the hours were today and the site said open and closing at 9:00 PM. We arrived at 5:04 PM. There was a lady coming out the door who said Cranberry Lane closed at 5:00 and the fudge place was closed today. If you are going to change hours of operation you should post on your site.☹

My husband and I popped in to try some of their confections. The fudge was incredible! The other items were good but the fudge really stole the show. I also bought my mother gourmet malted milk balls from here for Mothers Day. She and my father thought they were amazing. Come to find out, dad wanted more for Fathers Day, haha. This place is charming to be sure, but kind of a racket. They dont make their own candy. The candy is overpriced. The ice cream is weighed. There are a few interesting items here, and there are alot of nostelgic curiosities on the wall, but be careful what you buy if you dont want to get ripped off!
