My wife and I stopped by the dealership to get a feel for the 2021 outback’s. Dominic met us outside and immediately gave us his attention, helping us understand which trim would suit our needs best. When we returned from our test drive, Miguel did everything he could to get us in our car that very day! I even called another dealership nearby to confirm the offer he made us was fair. As first time car buyers, we felt like everything was explained to us in a clear manner. Dominic ended up seeing us off that day and we left as happy car owners.

Jackson was the best salesperson I have ever interacted with ever. He wasn’t pushy and was very honest about what car would be best for me and my needs. Abdul in financing was also very kind and resourceful when it came to purchasing warranties. Got set up with a great deal that was too perfect to pass up. Both were very personable people who were very pleasant to interact with. Overall, I felt valued, understood, and heard as a customer. In general, Putnam Subaru is an 11/10 for me.

I did a lot of research on the car I wanted to get, the 2021 Onyx XT. I contact SEVERAL Subaru dealerships in the bay area and I can say Dominic Bati is by far the best and trustworthy person I want to deal with. I could have gone with the Subaru 5 minutes away from my location, but decided to drive 30 minutes to Burlingame because I feel more comfortable making big purchase with someone like Dominic. Highly recommended to reach out to him if you can!

Before you buy or order a car here - just don’t….At first the team is nice and friendly; I thought Miguel was great at first. But after confirming a price (that took into consideration of the chip shortage and covid), we reluctantly pre-ordered a vehicle and waited months. Guess what they did days before the car got here? Yep - they raised the price and told us we could take it or leave it. I decided to get a different vehicle at Steven’s Creek Subaru. Highly recommend going there if you can. Got a better rate and no lies.

I did a lot of research on cars and dealerships and very glad I did! Buying a Subaru Crosstrek from Putnam Subaru (during the Covid-19 pandemic) on a 105 F day was, actually pretty pleasant! I worked with Andrew and he did an outstanding job of working with us. He even brought tables and chairs outside, in the shade, to do all of the transaction in a safe way. Im so glad we worked with Andrew and Putnam, they treated us very well, and I am thrilled with my new car!

Never in my 40 years on purchasing a car have I experienced such dishonest and corrupt business car transaction like the one at Putnam Subaru. I submitted my docs, had agreed price and was in financing and the next day they sold the car to someone else . No call no response from the sales rep who should be fired Miguel Reyes. The dealership admits they markup their cars 10-30% due to COVID and had no consideration for a consumer . Subaru USA and the DMV will be notified of their business practices and before anyone considers going here please do your homework . There’s also many other Subaru dealers out there and please compare your price. Simply the most unethical business practices I’ve ever experienced.

If I could give zero stars, I would. When I purchased my car, everyone was super attentive and there to answer any questions at any time. Yet, a year later when I have questions and need their help with a warranty, they have been completely ignoring me for two weeks now. I have reached out half a dozen times via phone and email. Each time, leaving my information with a promise for someone to call me back and nothing.When I finally was able to get through to someone on the phone, they told me I had to come in to the dealership in person. When I show up an hour later, they say they are too busy but can take all my info and will reach out to me the next day. They took my name, cell number, email, business card, and a copy of my registration.... still nothing.The only time I, as a woman, was able to get any sort of assistance/ customer service is when my father was on a call with me. Very interesting if you ask me....I never leave bad reviews because I always give people the benefit of the doubt, but this has been the worst experience of my life. I feel completely disrespected and abandoned.

Please avoid this dealership at all costs. My family and I dedicated a night to finalize a deal on one car and to hopefully buy another. Marc was our point of contact for the sale and we booked an appointment to work with him. Upon meeting him he was extremely rude. He made snide remarks and has no sense of customer service. Marc rushed out process due to us coming closer to closing. I understand that you’d like to go home, but why not tell us to not come later in the day then? If you didn’t want to have a sale at the end of day then tell the customer instead of wasting my whole family’s time.I am asking people to please consider taking your business elsewhere. You’ll find better deals and proper customer service at Carlsen or any dealer in the South Bay.The sales manager Anthony kept going back and forth with Marc on pricing which in turn caused us to be on edge because we felt like the pricing we were given wasn’t even that good. My nephew began to walk back and forth due to no A/C inside their establishment. Anthony told him that he was being “hostile” due to him pacing. Anthony, you and Marc made my whole family feel uncomfortable.Subaru, please consider hiring a proper management team and not one that accuses customers of being hostile. Anthony is extremely rude and needs an attitude adjustment. My family and I will never purchase a Subaru again because of how badly we were treated by Putnam Subaru.

My husband and I have been fortunate to purchase a number of new cars through the years. Buying a car was never something we particularly enjoyed. In fact, dreaded would be a better description. Like many, we felt like pawns in the buying process. A process that was designed to wear you down over hours of negotiation, where the winner was rarely the buyer. That was until yesterday when my husband and I bought a 2021 Subaru Limited from Putnam Subaru. I cannot say enough good things about our salesperson Max Garcia. As much of our purchase was done via text and email, Max provided answers to our questions in a prompt and courteous manner. When we agreed on a deal, Max made certain that our time at the dealership was minimal. With the help of Jay in finance we were on our way with our new Subaru Limited in less than 90 minutes. If you are in the market for a Subaru, do yourself a favor and see Max Garcia. A true professional; a rarity in the car business.

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, I contacted Putnam Subaru Service Department to ask if I could make an appointment to have the air conditioner on my 2015 Subaru Forester looked at. I was told to bring it in and since I live in San Lorenzo, CA in the East Bay, I drove the car across the bay to Burlingame and dropped it off. I explained that when I begin driving the car and turn the air conditioner on (lowest temperature setting, highest fan output) whether using recirculating air or from outside, it is initially cold, then it begins blowing hot air. Minutes later it may or may not correct itself and blow cold air again, but often it just stays hot. I was told by “Chris” that the cost of the diagnosis would be $220. I had to ask if that amount would be subtracted from the total cost of the repair if I chose to have it done at Putnam Subaru, and he confirmed that is would be deducted.I waited at the facility for the diagnosis to be done and was told that the car needed a new ac compressor assembly and some accompanying parts. I was told the repair would be about $3,300. I asked for and was given a loaner car, and since it was Saturday afternoon, the earliest my car would be repaired and ready would be Monday, August 30.At 11:47am on Monday, 8/30 I received a text from Chris stating that they had found the needed parts locally and that my car would be ready by 3pm on Monday. I arrived at the service department at 3:05pm, having driven across the bay from San Lorenzo to retrieve my car. I paid the bill which turned out to be $2785.46. I then drove the car South on the peninsula to about San Carlos, but 10 minutes into the drive, the air conditioner once again began blowing hot air. I pulled over and called Chris to let him know. He asked me several questions about the air conditioner settings (whether I had the temp set on low; was the fan on recirculate or circulate, etc.) I told him I was bringing the car right back before they close and that I really need to have the air conditioner fixed.They once again, gave me the same loaner car and I drove back across the bay to San Lorenzo. It was late in the afternoon so there was no chance of getting my car back on Monday. At about 5:30pm on Monday I received a voicemail from Chris saying that they replaced the car battery, and the air conditioner was now running fine. I responded with a voicemail to Chris saying that replacing the battery did not sound like the appropriate “fix” to me. I also told him that on Tuesday morning, they need to start the car up, drive it for 10 or 15 minutes to experience the same thing I had initially described.On Tuesday, August 31 at 3:14pm, I received the following text from Chris:Good After noon. We found the problem with the relay that was replaced and retested the a/c. The a/c ran for about an hour with no problems. We let the vehicle sit and ran it again it is still blowing cold air. Your vehicle is ready for pick up.Since all of the (unnecessary) repairs were done prior to a correct diagnosis that turned out to be a simple relay problem, I expect that Putnam Subaru will absorb those costs, charge me for relay parts and installation, and deduct the $220 diagnosis from that charge. The remainder will be refunded to me. Note, I gave a copy of this letter to Chris before I left with my car. In the letter I stated that I will wait for 24 hours to act upon this letter in filing a complaint with the CA Dept of Consumer Affairs and post reviews of my experience on other sites.Follow up: It has now been more than 24 hours and other than 2 unanswered phone calls from Chris, I have received no further communication from Putnam Subaru. I am appalled at their dishonesty regarding the AC repair. The mechanic who misdiagnosed the problem should have his pay docked for not doing the job correctly. It is apparent to me that Putnam Subaru cares not at all about their online reputation.

Worst Sales Guy ever - Avery was the sales rep for my familys vehicle and his poor customer service showed in his aggressive and LACK of communication with his Boss. His customer service towards the customer was to say the least a horrific experience considering this would be our forth vehicle with them and this sales guy would NOT present our cash offer to his boss.Avery is a dime a dozen in salesmanship and needs to go back to basics to learn how to treat people appropriately.SUBARU the name hasnt lost business but Avery has!

Love the cars, unfortunately the service is horrible. Went online and found the car we were looking for but when the sales man, Nelson called, he wanted nothing to do with our business. His first question was if we were paying cash. Why would it matter? When I said no, he quickly rushed me off the phone claiming he had customers walking in and he had to go. So disappointing. We still want the car, but definitely not from the salesman Nelson!

This place is awesome. I worked with a gentleman by the name of Max. He was Amazing he went above and beyond to answer our questions and help us out in every aspect. At no time did we feel like we were bothering him or he did he pressure us into anything.Once we picked out a car they took us to the finance office and we met a gentleman by the name of Cartier. He spent the time with us To make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it when it came to our finance portion of the vehicle he even called around trying and did find us a better rate then what we had. These two gentlemen truly made my car buying experience the most amazing car buying experience I have ever had in all my years of buying vehicles if you go to Putnam you have to work with Max. MAX is the BEST!!!The service was exceptional! Highly recommend Putnam Subaru.I purchased my first vehicle at Putnam Subaru. They were the first car dealership that we visited. We called to check if they had the vehicle we wanted to test drive and possibly purchase.Max was super friendly and greeted us right when we walked in. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the vehicle he was showing us. He immediately made us feel at home, like I was speaking to a close friend. He showed us all the features of the car, explained how safe we would be traveling in it, and really helped us understand the value of owning a Subaru and why it just wouldnt make sense for someone not to. Max gave us an amusing deal but we had to let him know that we wanted to think on it. He walked us out without putting any pressure on us and we felt amazing. *Thinking - if all sales representatives were like Max the economy would be thriving.* Little that he knew, we were pretty much sold.We traveled to the dealership next door because we felt it was way too easy to purchase the first car that we test drove. The gentleman there was very unorganized and couldnt find the right vehicle. We test drove a car but felt like it was a rental. The sales representative did not want to provide us with a quote useless we planned to purchase a car that evening. -_- No thank you. Maybe it was just that location. We visited the same dealership in a different city and it felt like this other sales person was trying to discourage us from purchasing the car. Neither sales people explained or provided us with any detail of the features in the cars that we were looking at. We ran back to Max the very next day.We love our Subaru. The screen is a good size. The words and picture is crisp. Even the knobs and the buttons look better than the other vehicle. Our Subaru is roomy, comfortable and drives smooth. We are extremely happy with our purchase.You definitely need to ask for MAX. He surprised us with extra incentives and gifts for our new vehicle. I was not looking forward to shopping for a car but I can not emphasize enough how easy and stress-free Max made our experience.

Great car-buying experience -- probably one of the best I have ever had. My special appreciation is for Dominic Bati -- by far the best car salesman I have ever met! Straightforward and transparent approach, prompt response, highly professional communication style, and no-nonsense/to the point attitude made all the difference for me. My wife and I are proud new leasers of a gorgeous Midnight Blue 2020 Forester Sport and couldnt be more thrilled with the car and the experience we had. We worked with Andrew Brahmst who was a sensational salesman. Its shocking that this was his first lease deal and that hed only been selling cars for 5 days when we came in.We came in a little after 5pm (on our anniversary no less!) without the intention of leaving with a car that same day. Our plan was to test drive, get some pricing and marinate on the decision a little. We are a Subaru family so the decision wasnt so much whether we were going to lease a Subaru but rather with what dealership in the Bay Area we would be leasing from. Andrew got us set up with a Forester Sport to test drive, which of course was great, and started talking to us about the options. Never did we feel like he was being pushy or overbearing.Andrew knew his stuff, understood our needs and negotiated with his manager on our behalf wonderfully. When negotiating a lease there is always back and forth, but we left feeling that Andrew really did right by us. It is clear that, beyond being a good salesman, he truly cares about his customers. As someone who has worked in retail their entire professional career its common for a salesperson to allow their eagerness to make a sale to overshadow their sincerity. Its rare to find someone who eagerness is as much about customer satisfaction as it is about their commission. Andrew is surely a part of that rare breed. I was beginning my new car search and I couldnt decide between a new Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, or Honda. I stumbled into the Subaru Dealership on my way to Mazda and was warmly greeted by Max Garcia. I didnt know anything about the brand shortly after a few questions Max directed me towards the Forester. We went on a test drive and it was everything I wanted and more! The feel of a luxury car without the heavy price. Its easy to drive, great visibility and one of the safest cars on the road. The negotiation process was no pressure, quick and easy, between him and Anthony-they worked with my budget and were able to present me with my new Blue 2020 Forester. Bought my first Subaru from this location and Im really glad I came here for two reasons:1. My sales person, Cesar Gutierrez, went above and beyond to cater to all my questions and concerns. I had called the location a couple of weeks prior to getting the car and unfortunately they did not have the car I wanted, but Cesar went out of his way to alert me the minute they had received the car I was looking for. Needless to say I bought the car the same day. His customer service is world-class from beginning to end and I felt taken care of with his attention to detail.2. The atmosphere and overall culture of the dealership was very comfortable and helpful. Someone greeted the minute I walked in and pointed in the right direction, the finance team was superb, and even accommodated holding the cat for a few days so I could set up a surprise for my wife. We drove from Marin county to shop for our new Subaru and Im glad we did. Max was awesome and we love our Outback Onyx Edition. I first contacted them about an Outback Premium. The quote Max sent me was lower than I expected and by far the best quote I received from any dealer around here. The entire thing was very transparent, he put the number in writing in an email and honored that price when we sat down, with no additions or surprises. Just before we closed the deal, I ended up changing my mind and going for a much nicer trim that we also tried that day (upon our request) and I can say Im really happy I did. Max was helpful and kind but never pushy and gave us time and space to think about this important decision throughout the process. Overall, a no stress experience, a good deal and a very happy new car owner.Only small wrinkle is that we were potentially interested in trading our old Mazda CX-5 and the price they offered us was far bellow other quote I got from online retailer such as Carvana and Shift (which is still not as good as party to party sale but I wanted a no hassle Covid free experience). That being said, our car wasnt a Subaru and its from the last generation, which I guess is not so hot on the dealers lots in 2021... Still, do your research and know what your car is worth! We kept ours and took the internet companys offer. Overall still delighted with our experience.

I didnt want to post a review but after the chain of events, I felt it was important to share since I went to this dealership because of the reviews.I purchased my car on a Tues late evening and the sales rep picked up my car Wed am to detail and it was returned with a large stain down the passenger side door. The dealership attempted to remove the stain a 2nd time without success so I requested to speak with the GM who was more than happy to fix the door. I was so excited that the dealership was fixing the mistake.Fast forward 3 weeks and I finally get my car returned after two attempts to repaint the door only to get my brand new car back with grease stains in the interior front and back.I was impressed that the dealership fixed my car, but I was not impressed with the dishonesty and sloppiness.1) The sales rep returned my car two times w/the stain without telling me it couldnt be removed2) When I requested to speak with the GM, I was told he wasnt in and wouldnt be available until late afternoon. But when I called his office, he was there in 2 mins3) I was told it was bird poop that went thru the paint but it wasnt there when I purchased the car on Tuesday before it was detailed4) I was told the car was detailed after the door was fixed, but it was returned with grease stains in the front and back interior

I was in need of a new car, since my previous car was just repurchased as part of a law suite against Ford. I didnt want to rent a car while waiting for other Subaru dealers shipment to come in. They all had agreed to match the lowest offer, but none had the color, trim and package combination I wanted. As a last effort, I decided to reach-out to Putnam Subaru. Definitely not the closest to South Bay, but still not too far. Just 45-min up the peninsula got me the exact car I wanted, when I wanted it. And, Daniel was able to match the price. I was elated.I arrived at the dealer shortly after 11AM and was on my way home with my new car shortly after noon.Quickest and the least hassle ever in buying any car I have experienced.When I arrived at the lot Daniel met me outsides as I was approaching. He told me he was overbooked, yet he recognized my desire to be in and out of the purchase process. At no point did I feel like I was waiting for him to get back to me. He handled two customers in parallel seamlessly.I also cant forget to mention Erik in Finance. He guided me through the paperwork and presented me with the available options for pre-paying maintenance and extended warranty. It was also quick and painless. I am always interested in extended warranty, but this time we had decided to opt out of buying the maintenance package, since the dealers have specials all the time. Though, with hind site, I will miss the convenience of driving away without paying for the scheduled maintenance.Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone buying a car to first negotiate the price before showing up at the showroom. No, seriously though: this incredibly authentic, real, genuine human being of a cars salesman completely changed every previously held belief I had about the sliminess of car salespeople. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had in my life, bar none. I like lists so I will give you five reasons why you dont want to bother going anywhere else except Putnam and specifically to Andrew Brahmst:1. From day one, he was insanely responsive and attentive - helping me get information I didnt even think I needed to help make my buying process easier. Phone calls, text messages, emails - Andrew was back to me within minutes every time with exactly the info I needed to keep the ball rolling.2. There wasnt a thing Andrew didnt know about this car. Okay, maybe there were a few very very specific things (because he had literally just started the job ) but he was real about not knowing and got me the answers quickly and efficiently. He could easily articulate the pros and cons of different models, new vs used, add-on options.3. Speaking of information, I was BLOWN AWAY by how transparent Putnam was from start to finish. He ensured I had a great overall experience- he researched thoroughly and provided thoughtful responses to my questions, which helped me decide between an Onyx and Limited. Came in yesterday before closing to test drive the 2019 Forester. Anthony greeted me with a warm smile and had one of the guys from Mazda to take me to a test drive. Loved the car and he gave me the invoice and I went home to compare the pricing with other dealerships. One of the other dealerships was able to offer me a lower quote.I went into Putnam today to see if they are able to match it. Leo helped me thru the whole sales process and was very patient and helpful. Test drove the car another time and picked the right one from the lot. Got the pricing to a good point for us and we went into the financing office where we were helped by Cartier. He was also very friendly and helpful. My recent experience at Putnam Subaru Burlingame was extremely disappointing, to say the least. My wife and I came one month ago to test and purchase a new Outback. We were pleased with the car and negotiated the price with the salesperson, Dominic Bati, reviewing the details of the costs, including expected sales and registration fees, and received an email confirming the car order and the negotiated base cost before taxes and registration fees. When we came to get the car a few weeks later, Dominic presented us with a price tag increased by more than $2,000 for costs never-mentioned before, such as $1,000 for transfer which basically mean for having the car sent to that location (???), a several hundred dollars fees for preparing and cleaning the (new) car (???) etc. Dominics final response of my manager asked me to add these costs sounded completely phoney and preposterous. I do not know if these are common dealership sales practices or it was the doing of our salesperson, but I left extremely disappointed, betrayed and then disgusted.

Our expectations were surpassed with our 2017 Forester purchased from Dan Dishart Jan 7 2017. It was for my husband who has been driving a 17 year old (2000) Manual Subaru that he finally is letting go.- Considering that we just came from another dealer ship for 4 hrs where we were not able complete the purchase, the decision at Putnam with Dan was in less than an hour!It was because Dan was responding and listening to all of our needs/questions directly, patiently, and with empathy. Not at all impressed; very overpriced. I was charged $100 for an oil change (at another Subaru dealership I’ve paid that for oil + 6k service). They wanted to charge $340 for 12k service which basically amounts to an oil change, inspections, and an air filter change (you can do this yourself in 10 minutes for $30) - I though they were joking. Oh, and that $100 oil change didn’t even include a car wash. The service managers were friendly enough but I don’t drive a Subaru to be taken advantage of. On balance I won’t be back.

I have been taking my 2002 Volvo for service here for many years. Everyone is very professional, friendly, and efficient. Miguel welcomes me by name when I arrive. They were very accommodating to me when I required special time frames when having service done last year. I love the idea that my car is washed inside/out when any service is done, but still appreciated that they didnt offer that service during the drought.

UPDATE: Dominic Bati, internet sales manager, came through for us after I reached out to him. He was able to get the vouchers redeemed without me having to set foot into the dealership again. His communication with me was swift and efficient.ORIGINAL: We came to Putnam Subaru for a test drive of the Outback. Full disclosure, there was an incentive for the test drive ($65 gift card). We arrived at the dealership and asked for a test drive and showed him the voucher. He accepted our vouchers and said that he would submit them. The date of visit was 5/20/19. As of today, 6/02/19, the status of both vouchers are still marked as not redeemed.If you plan on visiting this dealership, I would advise looking elsewhere. If they arent willing to spend 2 minutes to redeem a voucher that comes from corporate money (not the dealerships money), what are the chances theyll give you a good deal on their cars?Putnam Subaru, feel free to reach out to me here. Miguel and Erik at Putnam Subaru was awesome in helping me take home the car I wanted. Its been 20+ years since I bought my first and only car and havent had a car payment for over a decade.
