Went on a Thursday evening Ladies night out. The restaurant was packed! We ordered Margaritas and Sangria that was fantastic! After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about going but I am so happy I went. Our waiter told us they were short staffed so we did have to wait a little longer but the food and drinks made it worth while. Ill definitely be back! *****

Very nice place. Came here in the evening with a friend of mine and ordered a coffee and the waiter was kind enough to brew me some fresh coffee which I really really appreciate. The food was absolutely delicious the meat was perfection. They really know how to season their food properly and make it delicious. Probably the best food I have ever had from a restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and informative as we had asked some information about the waiters culture, as the children we had with us were in a Spanish class and had to eat out at an authentic Mexican restaurant as a part of their homework. He was very kind to them and we absolutely adored the service he gave us.

A group of us at the hospital ordered takeout for lunch. The first problem we encountered was that a couple salads were missing. When we called to try to figure out the issue, the restaurant staff accused our hospital staff of stealing food from them in the past. So a couple of our staff members didn’t get the food that they paid for. Secondly, the salsa arrived like this. 😂 Honestly that’s pretty comical.

We love this place! We come here a lot. The people are always very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent, from the chips, salsa, and cheese dip, to any of the different entrees that we normally get. We will definitely continue to come back.

This was my first time ever getting San Marcos, and I ordered tamales to go since I had been craving them for awhile. When I began to open the container, they had red sauce and cheese on top. Which I was fine with, I’m not picky but I was expecting tamales still in the corn husk. When I began to eat them, I found out that it was primarily masa. There was barely ANY meat at all. I didn’t end up finishing my food and I was very disappointed.

I really like this place. We were there for my birthday dinner, it was a total failure. We couldnt understand the waiter at all. Instead of having the same favorite dinner for my birthday, I ordered something different. It was kind of like drinking the wrong drink. It will be a while before I spend my money there again.

I discovered this place last week and ate there everyday, that should tell you enough! 😅 Theyre quesadillas are amazing, fajitas, everything. Fantastic place! Will continue going there almost daily for the lunch specials!

Awesome food, super nice staff, reasonable prices. Always feel very welcomed whenever we go. The food never disappoints. And even at busy times, theyre always super fast in the kitchen. Their salsa and white queso cheese is the best!! I always get some to take home.

Steak Fajita quesadilla was very tasty and my go to here. However it was a bit cold served this time. The strawberry frozen margarita was just ok lacked a specialty taste so I wouldn’t order again. Our waiter was super marginal, he seemed like a nice guy and the language/communication wasn’t the issue. He had taken some of our orders wrong and forgot to ask about like if we needed anything or how it was and just walked away. Also my grandma called ahead and placed a reservation for 10-14 people yesterday and by the time we got there despite the restaurant being empty they still didn’t have a table big enough for us. So we had to break up our party with half of us on a booth and half across the aisles. Kinda weird. Not sure if it was just a meh visit or what was off today. The female staff that we usually get are very nice and attentive.

Wait staff was excellent and very engaging. Serving sizes are very nice and food tastes amazing. Just a bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

Excellent food! Might have been a bit understaffed, because we had to wait a little bit longer than usual at similar restaurants for our food, but it was well worth the wait! I had the carnitas mexicanas, which were simply incredible. They were cooked to perfection, so tender that they fell apart when I poked them with my fork. My wife also had the flautas which were pretty good too! Highly recommend.

Delicious fajitas and to go margaritas were a big hit for my husband and I. We ordered for pick up and got enough food for four people and two big containers of frozen margaritas. The waitress/hostess was helpful and energetic and very polite. We will definitely be going back for more :)

Pretty good typical tex mex style restaurant. Good chips and salsa. I had the asada tacos, very generous portions. They have Friendly service. They have outdoor covered seating which is great for the summer. If youre in the mood for a Tex-Mex style its a good place to try.

Its a comfortable laid back place. Its clean, the drinks are great, food is great and the staff always has great attitudes. Ive had a good time everytime Ive been there.

Love Mexican food! Camarones a la diabla is my favorite! Spicy Hot shrimp with refried beans and rice. The shrimp is covered with onions and a spicy red sauce. Wide selection of other Mexican foods, including burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, and house specialities. Drinks are also available such as margaritas, sodas, beers. Viva San Marcos!

This, in my opinion, is one of the best Mexican restaurants in west Michigan. I appreciate the fact that the restaurant does not try to tame the flavor of their food to appeal to individuals who do not like spicier food. I would recommend you to try their Chipotle sauce that comes with their grilled tacos (Mexican style). It is, by far, one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. It is smoky with a hint of bitterness and packed full of flavor. I would definitely stop by this restaurant every time I am in town.

Went in for dinner last night, the food was good but service on the other hand not so much. Once our food was out little check in from our waitress. By the end we had no refills and were just wanting for our bill with all our plates stacked. Eventually decided to just go up to the register. Had to wait again for her to go up. The restaurant wasn’t very packed so didn’t really understand why she was so frantic the other waiter and younger waitress looked calm. Will consider going back in a future, but imagine actually being there on a day they are actually full with the service.

Delicious food! Attentive staff. So glad they are open again! The tacos de pastor in Mexican style (as opposed to American style when they ask you) are hard to beat.

Soy de San Diego, California living in Michigan about 30 miles from Hastings, I just happened upon San Marcos Mexican B&G one day after a medical appt. I was blown away by the food !! It reminded me of being in Ensenada on another scuba diving trip. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The food is Muy Bueno !! Authentic and amazing !!

There arent many Mexican food choices in Hastings, and this place is okay. Our party of 4 was promptly greeted & seated in the supper hour. The beer selections were fewer than Id prefer. Our food was served promptly, but was less than hot (temperature). When settling our tab, there was a minor mix-up. I wont avoid this place, but likely wont hurry back either.

Absolutely delicious meal!!!! Service was fine for us! Just watch your bill... we were charged $10.50 a piece for margaritas that were only supposed to be $7.99 a piece. Management fixed immediately, but still... that shouldnt a mistake made when the special is all day.
